The food was amazing. The brisket strip was a little on the dry side but overall the meat was tasty and the loaded baked potato was mouth watering. The server was amazing and super sweet. The atmosphere was super fun and the place is huge!

Smoky Rose is such a cute and lively spot... and spacious. They had two events going on, on top of an already larger crowd and it didn't seem too busy. Our waiter was fairly new, which he warned us about ahead of time so we knew how to set our expectations. He was very friendly and seemed to try his best to ensure we had a great experience. Food: I ordered the Smoked Chicken Flautas and the Chicken Wings (Dry Rub). The dry rub wings were 10/10; highly recommended. The flautas had do much potential. For starters, I'm pretty sure they used flour tortillas (gasp) and the chicken itself didn't have much taste to it. However, the dressings on top were flavorful and they stuffed the flautas a great deal so it was a good bang for your buck.

I've been here before and it was good. We recently went yesterday and the food was disappointing. Everything including the breakfast potatoes and ketchup was overly sweet. The brisket was poor quality and had very little taste. The outdoor seating was overrun by small children running around unsupervised. Would not recommend.

I've had the pork belly burnt ends before. They were amazing and I think they get better the longer they sit in the fridge. I have craved them for two weeks. I normally don't 'finish my plate' and can get three meals out of one. I added the steak fajitas as a Saturday night dinner treat, and then would enjoy the rest through my work week. The vegetables are wonderful and I highly recommend a forkful of onion, pepper, sour cream, and potato. The meat, however is just not hitting it out of the ball park. The biggest disappointment was getting half-cooked translucent flour tortillas. They're gummy and I can't imagine this is what the owners intended. Barf. Again: fajita veggies: potatoes, bell peppers, onions- chef's kiss. The steak and tortillas, someone's abuela just rolled over in her grave.

Ambiance very NICE! Beautifully decorated for the holidays. 5 STARS Drinks- My cocktail was delish! 4 STARS Service was decent. Food came out hot and fast. Presentation was good. 3 STARS Food was just ok. It was very bland and just about everything needed seasoning. A little salt and pepper goes a long way! I chose the two meat combo with ribs and chicken. The BBQ sauce was AMAZING. The meat lacked flavor. The ribs were grilled nicely, but didn't taste like anything. The coleslaw was delicious. It was my favorite thing and it was a side. It was full of flavor. The collard greens were blah. 2 STARS Overall decent experience. I was glad to try it once since I have driven by it on several occasions. Valet parking is free, but mandatory. I didn't like that there was no self parking at lunch and it wasn't super crowded.

This is definitely a great spot for happy hour! They offer a solid selection of appetizers for just $7, along with their signature cocktails at the same price--a deal that's hard to beat. I went with the Blackberry Smash, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly balanced--not too tart, not too sweet--and with just the right kick. I also tried the wings and highly recommend the dry rub; the flavor was spot on. If you're looking for a go-to happy hour spot, this place is worth checking out!

Delicious food that is always a welcome place to go after the Dallas Arboretum. Today we ate outside, which is not table service but to order at the bar and then they give you a number and deliver the food to you. Food was prepared very quickly and delicious as always. Service is very pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.

Smokey Rose is Southern BBQ done right. The restaurant is located across from the Botanical garden, making it a great destination to stop by after a visit. The space feels like a large enclosed patio that's thoughtfully designed to create a fine dining experience that's homey and chill. We ordered a 1/2 board of meats which were some of the best cuts I've had. The turkey was surprisingly our table's favorite-- perfectly tender, seasoned and cooked. The short- rib was a close second, and brisket! They were all incredibly mouth-watering. We ordered a few small side dishes: fried okra, pinto beans, green beans, mash potatoes, and collard greens. They were all spot on. The collard greens could have went a tad less salty but the rest were perfect. Our waiter, Patrick was friendly and super attentive. There was also a live musician playing while we dinned which made for a beautiful Southern dining experience.

Do they offer any vegetarian items? Asking because we have a company lunch and I don't want to appear like a pain.

They have some salads that you can choose from. Also, they have chips and queso and/or guac, as well as devils eggs that might work depending on what type of vegetarian diet you follow.

Is it pet friendly? Can dogs be sitting together at the patio area?

There were several dogs both small and large. All were on a leash. They had bowls of water too. I would say it's pet friendly for dogs.

Do y'all do happy hour on the patio? Also, when is live music?

Yes happy hour is the entire restaurant Monday thru Friday from 3-6pm. Live music is Tuesday thru…

    What is the happy hour?

Hi and hope all is well. Happy hour is Sunday thru Friday from 3-7pm. Monday & Tuesday are all day happy hour!…

My friend absolutely loved the burnt ends. He liked them so much that after we finished the first order, he went back and got a second one, plus some brisket and elote. I thought everything was good, but I will say the menu felt a little limited. This is definitely one of those places where I am glad I finally tried it because it is part of the local DFW BBQ experience, but it is probably not somewhere I would specifically seek out again. That said, if someone wanted to go, I would go again without complaint. I DO want to try the Burndt end bloody mary!

Hey Lockhart Smokehouse!…read more (And I'm curious WHY you are called Lockhart - 'cause I used to live in Austin, TX, and going to Lockhart for BBQ was one of our favorite Friday afternoon excursions...) The vibe in this place is really great. The people are friendly. Downtown Plano is cool. The restaurant and bar area are clean, well-attended, and the food and drink are all good. So why only 3-stars? To be fair, I came here on a weeknight around 6:30pm, which is not the best way to judge a BBQ place. I will try to come back on a Friday at lunch time, and I hope things will be epic. Bottom line, I wasn't blown away by the meats! They were well cooked, but the flavor just didn't impress. The Sause (sorry, I'm a Rudy's loyalist) was tasty, but didn't blow my mind. A nice sweet + smoky flavor that worked better with the Spare Ribs than the Brisket. (Another minot note -- I know a lot of BBQ places eschew Baby Back Ribs for Spare Ribs. Lockhart only does Spare Ribs.) Would I come back? 100% Would I recommend that you go here? 100% I have to say the bartender was terrific, and the pit masters were super friendly, so no dis on the staff. I was just hoping for "oh my god" BBQ and didn't quite get there. Still a great visit.

I went with a friend of mine for breakfast around 1030. First time for breakfast here for both of us. I ordered a couple tacos and a pancake. My friend got the breakfast platter and a pancake. We were given a number, got our drinks and went to ta table. About 20 minutes in, no food. We were greeted by a very nice member of staff and talked with him for a bit. But when that was done we realized it had been about 35 minutes. No food. A waiter comes by and asked if we had the pancakes. We said yes. He told us they were out because a football team came in right before we did and ended up ordering like all they had for the day. You can't make this up. So I asked ok but where's the rest of our food? I'll check on it he said. So I leaned over to the table next to us and ask if they were still waiting on their food since they had been there a while also and they said yes did you also order the pancakes? Lol We laughed and said yeah but we should get the rest of our food no? they ended up leaving. About 10 minutes later another waiter comes and asked if the manager had spoken to us. Nope just a waiter. So he goes to get him. He comes back 5 minutes later cause the manager was helping to cook and would be with us soon. So we def in well over an hour now. Manager finally comes and is the most apologetic he could possibly be. Told us straight up our other food was never made and he would make it right now. And he would comp our meal. So that was already a really good turnaround. But when he brings the food out he also brought us a rack of pork ribs because the initial employee we talked to told him about us wanting to try the pork ribs another time and he just gave us some. Could really not have asked him to have done more to make up for everything. That alone will make me return to this location a lot. Food was fine but their courteousness and willingness to make the situation right and go beyond earned a customer for life.

Everything you need to know about the store you'll find in Guy H's reviews here on Yelp. A couple of heads up notes. The store no longer serves draft beer which is kinda sad. I'm no fan of Budweiser, but I'd always get a Bud draft... just because. Old school. They offer six or eight bottled and maybe canned beers. Contrary to the information provided here on Yelp they DO NOT serve wine. I wish I could remember her name, but the gal that has manned the register for as long as I've been going is still there and it was so good to see her. A pleasant tie to back in the day at Sonny's. And the school desks are still there, though I can no longer get into them. LOL. The store has undergone some physical improvements but it still boasts something of an old school BBQ joint ambiance. Worth a visit for that experience alone. I'm editing this as the response from the store manager to my little review above is odd. I never said the meal did not meet my expectations nor did I mention the bun or that I even had a sandwich. I actually thought the bun was excellent. In fact, though, the meal did not meet my expectations I made no mention of that. The pork ribs are rather unusual. When ordering I asked if I could order a pound cut from the short end. The associate at the register looked at me like a calf looking at a new gate. I tried to explain and he said their ribs are all cut up individually. He obviously had no idea how a rack of ribs is structured. I'm inclined to think the store is not smoking actual racks of ribs. The ribs appear to be pre-cooked somehow and then, based on the grill marks, clearly finished on a grill. They do not taste smoked to me. But, of course, I do not know. I requested brisket cut from the point, it came out cut from the flat. The experience was unlike anything I've ever had before in a BBQ joint. (The picture of Sonny next to your name is kinda weird).
