We get takeout from Snappy Dragon every couple of months. We always enjoy their food. The walnut shrimp is very good. Their noodle dishes are always delicious. Their fried rice and broccoli beef is good. Their takeout system is easy to navigate and pick up. Their staff and delivery drivers are friendly. They do package their to go orders carefully and thoughtfully. Last time we ordered, we ordered 5-6 dishes. We didn't notice that they left out a dish until we got home. We called the restaurant and they made the dish and delivered it to our home. Great service! We are big fans! read more

I ordered potstickers and fried noodles. Potstickers. Huge, oily, super doughy and the meat was tiny. They might as well advertise it as a bao. One of them was broken, which normal Chinese restaurants don't serve to customers. If they can make good boiled dumplings how can they mess up potstickers? The fried noodles. Over cooked noodles, bland and was soupy? How is there so much liquid in chow mein? I'll give this place another chance some time but if a Chinese restaurant can't get the simplest dishes right then how can their other dishes be good. I had been doing autumn yard work all day and I did not feel like cooking. It had been hot sweaty work that turned cold in the late afternoon. I ordered a meal to be delivered. I've had good food here (the mooshoo chicken and seseamae chicken are ok) but most of it just terrible. After multiple mediocre meals in a row I feel like i've given them enough chances. I ordered the Chow Mi-Fun with Vegetables today and this is literally just boiled noodles, vegetables, and boiled chicken thrown together. There is no sauce or flavor - AT ALL. For $20... So disappointed to see that our favorites at this restaurant are no longer tasty; from the jiao zi dumplings to our most favorite, the homemade noodles. Growing up I have always came here with my family. When ever we'd see the owners my parents would chat with him. You could see them making the Jiao-zi while you're eating. You definitely need to order the 26 piece of pork Jiao-zi. The dough is thicker but super chewy. They also have good hot oil & chili sauce. The house chow mein is another dish that I usually order. The noodles are hand cut and chewy just like the dumpling dough. Snappy dragon fried rice has it all for you meat and seafood. The mu shu Pork is tasty, similar to making a burrito Asian style. The sesame beef (crispy) and the salt and pepper prawns are also tasty. So many options you can't really go wrong. read more

My friends who are locals wanted to go here. So we decided to stop by last night with a party of 5. The more then merrier when it comes to Chinese food family style! We ordered so much and there was so much leftovers! It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night around 8:15 but we got sat right away. We ordered: - green onion pancake - quart of wonton soup (there was about 11 wontons in there) - mushu chicken added extra wraps for it since it only is served with 4 - homemade noodle chow mein - hunan pork (spicier than I expected!) - sesame chicken - eggplant in tangy glaze Ok, my first gripe is the eggplant dish. What I was imagining in my head was in Chinese terms "Yu xiang chia zi" (if you speak Chinese you should know what I am talking about, stir fried eggplant in that sauce with some bamboo shoots and what not), well this place's eggplant is sliced, dipped in heavy HEAVY batter, fried, and a sweet and sour sauce is dumped all over it. You can't even taste eggplant. I was not a fan of this dish. Also you eat one of those deep fried things, and you don't want anymore of it. The pancake for the mushu chicken was a bit thick and not flexible. I am used to a thinner wrap that you put the stuffing in. Besides that, I liked the dish. They do serve alcohol here. Got takeout of the so-called homemade noodles and other dishes. Flavor and texture were very poor. The wonton wrappers in the soup were flavorless and mushy and broccoli beef lay in a large puddle of watery liquid. Overall it was a big oversauced mess that I can't believe we paid for. I've been coming to Judy Fu's for years and have NEVER experienced a bad meal. I always start my meal with an order of Jau Z pork dumplings ( 5 star appetizer ). The salt & pepper prawns are wonderful but a tad messy so be prepared for some work, but it's worth it. Moving onto main coarse you gotta order the famous Judy Noodles Chow Mien there exceptional and delicious. After the Id say either Kung Pau Chicken or Mongolian beef but the entire menu provides that flavor blast of al things Chinese Food should deliver. The homemade noodles are still great! The portions are also still huge but I think prices went up a little... We tried the Szechuan beef dish and their dumplings. The beef was good, very flavorful and juicy. The dumplings' filling was great but it was mostly skin! Too heavy on the skin otherwise pretty good. The only thing bothering me during dinner were the flies that were hanging out around our food - very disturbing... otherwise the meal was great. I don't know how it's possible that I haven't written a review about Snappy Dragon before. It's one of my all time favorite restaurants! The food is phenomenal! My favorites are the Chow Mein with the homemade noodles, the gioza (it's spelled differently, but can't remember how), and the Mu Shoo (probably spelled differently). Yum! We had previously their food delivered a few years ago. First of all parking is tight. Street parking in a busy neighborhood. Then second the inside of the restaurant is small. It was 1pm on Monday & they were packed! The small waiting area was full of people waiting for pick up & tables both. I think they were short staffed by at least 1 person the day we were there. The hostess was running around doing 3 jobs. Our waiter came by too quickly at first to take our order & then took forever to come back. Asked for an extra napkin & had to wait a long time to receive. Food was fabulous!!! We both had lunch specials with hot & sour soup. I had the steamed chicken with vegetables in Szechuan sauce 4 star spicy. Just right! Lots of garlic. I had mine with fried rice & BBQ pork Excellent bbq pork. I had enough leftovers to make a complete second meal. Hubby had the tofu in mongolian sauce with brown rice. So tasty you forget it's healthy. He had the spring roll & I thought it was disappointing. A little greasy & just full of cabbage. Tea was jasmine & a little weak. I prefer oolong. Not sure if it''s an option. We got an order of the Vegetable/Chicken Chow Mein with hand-rolled noodles and the Schezwan Garlic Chicken, and to be honest, we couldn't stomach much of it. The chow mein was gummy and completely bland, like someone had added gelatin to packing peanuts, and the Schezwan chicken was swimming in a chili sauce that had zero flavor and very little heat. It was pooled so high in the to go container that it was sleeping out. There was nothing redeeming about this meal, and it was a massive disappointment. Both my partner and I agreed that it was not worth eating, and we threw it all in the trash while placing an order at a safer choice neighborhood restaurant. Two weeks ago we ordered the Sesame Beef, described as crispy sliced beef in a tangy glaze and General Tso's Chicken -crispy chunks of chicken in a spicy glaze. Both dishes were soaked in hot chili oil sauce triggering my IBS. I've had major stomach and digestive problems since, it usually takes 6-8 weeks to get back to normal. It's really miserable and will definitely effect my holidays. The beef dish is described as "tangy". Does tangy mean hot? Also, most of the beef was full of thin tendons, rubbery and un-chewable. I've ordered General Tso's Chicken 100 times at other places and it has always been prepared similar to orange chicken - breaded but with a brown glaze - a few chili peppers in the mix that you can pull off the plate or a little bit of red pepper flakes. This chicken was breaded and completely soaked in red hot chili oil sauce. This sauce is hot and sweet which makes it deceiving. I'm always super cautious about what I eat and would never have ordered these if I knew how hot they were. They also asked if I wanted hot sauce on the side. No mustard or sweet n sour sauce. When I called in the delivery they said it would be and hour and 15 min. After I accepted and put in my order they said - ok, an hour and a half and hung up. I wouldn't have made the order if I knew they'd tack on another 15 minutes and I think they knew it. Horrible experience. read more

Snappy Dragon seems to have a long-standing cult following, but I'm a bit puzzled by that. Maybe it was once amazing back in the day, but I can't say that reputation still stands. I've been here a couple times and both times I was left feeling pretty meh. The potstickers have way too thick of a skin, and throws off the ratio between the skin and meat. It feels like you're eating a ball of dough, which is a shame because the filling itself is well-seasoned. General Tso's Chicken comes in a massive portion, but some pieces were super dry, old chicken, while others were fine. The Kung Pao Chicken is a bit better, although a tad on the salty side, but the chow mein with the house made egg noodles are so flavorless and doughy that it's hard to figure out what exactly you're supposed to be tasting. I feel like all of the dishes I've had here have been passable with a lot of room for improvement. Despite this, Snappy is always packed and insanely busy, and I can't figure out why. Maybe I'm just ordering the wrong thing? Regardless, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Finally some amazing sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice in WA! The way they prepare these dishes takes me back to the more traditional Cantonese style preparation I grew up with. This place came highly recommended to me and it was super worth the drive there on a Friday busy afternoon to pick takeout. The sauce on the (white meat) chicken tastes homemade and the vegetables are fresh! I also felt the portion size to price ratio was fair. I/we have been Snappy Dragon fans for a long time (approx. 20-years). We ate here the night before we had our first child hoping the spiciness of the food would help induce labor. It was that memory that prompted me to go out of my way to get takeout from here this week. Boy, was I disappointed. It wasn't the food, although it wasn't as good as we had remembered it. It was the service. Living 30-min north I wanted to order ahead so I wouldn't be waiting in what they attempt to call a lobby (seats 2). When I called, they said they didn't take orders ahead of time and that I would have to call back 20-min before pickup. That puts me on I5 in rush hour traffic. When I explained this, the staff was completely uncaring. Still in the mood for a good meal, I hopped in my car and made my way to the restaurant. I called 20-min ahead and placed my order. This experience was fine and efficient. The staff informed me that the wait would be 20-25 min and having called earlier this was acceptable. I made it there right in time to pickup after placing my order 20-min earlier. The staff took my payment and didn't offer any estimate as to how long I would need to wait, so I found a wall to lean against thinking it would be 0-10 min. To my surprise, I waited there almost 30-min (29-min to be exact), all the while hearing staff tell others calling in that their orders would be ready in 20-25 min. Sorry to say, but I'm likely done with this place and won't be offering rave reviews like I have in the past. I've always put up with the quirky interior dining thinking the food make up for it. It doesn't, and with a customer service approach no better than McDonalds, we'll find another small business to support. Thanks for the memories I guess... read more
