The sandwiches are to die for. While it may take a while to get the food it's because the sandwich magicians take great care with each morsel of food. One man gently stroked his chin as he thought long and hard about how to assemble my magical French dip sandwich. As the six men carefully looked over their creation while it was being made I enjoyed my thick frosty chocolate shake. Wait! That wasn't my French dip that they made it was someone else's. My sandwich was not produced when I thought it was because the ticket was lost between the register and the beginning of the sandwich production line. They definitely found a couple eighths of dank bud during that time though. These employees are happy, I am not. read more

Not sure what makes a sandwich worth the trip to Colorado, but if this is it, it must really suck where you come from. It's not that it is a bad sarnie, it is just meat and some salad stuff on a bit of Baguette that they toast for 30 seconds...Whoop-dee-doo. I can only assume (huge danger) that it is the memories of old school days (streaking the quad et al.) that brings people back and makes them rave about the experience. Everyday I dream of Snarfs. That is not an exaggeration. Go here. Period.

I like Snarf's a lot. They have a lot of great quality ingredients on their sandwiches and their steak cuts are incredible. Also, best bread from any sandwich shop I've ever been too. I'm a very picky eater however when it comes to sandwich shops. But the one reason I come here is for their french dip. My god, I love a great french dip. I cannot stand ordering a french dip and getting cheap, dry roast beef on a poor quality sandwich with a side of au jus poured from a jug. Normally to get an amazing french dip, you need to spend 20+ at a nice restaurant because of the traditionally super expensive prime rib that comes on it. But this place is the best damn bang for my buck I have ever had for a french dip. The au jus is fresh and hot, the bread perfectly crispy, and the prime rib warm, flavorful and cooked to perfection. For 11 bucks, this is the best french dip I've ever had the pleasure to sink my teeth into. It is just so good. A complaint I have is the meatball sub. It's average at best to be honest. If you want a good meatball sub, head to Salvagio's or Moe's Bagels on a monday. And wow is this place expensive. 14 bucks for a meatball sub and drink??? It reminds me of just how much I have to fork over to eat in Boulder. I'm sick of these insane prices for everything in Boulder. I really despise it. Visiting Boulder for 1st time. Great tasting sandwiches (went 2 consecutive days) yet reasonably healthy. Great selections, reasonable prices and just a very positive atmosphere. The bread reminds me of authentic French baguettes. Represents the Boulder vibe very well. The staff are on top of it and make you feel really good. They have a couple of locations. This is really what a small, well run business should be like - a great product, great service, and an overall good feeling long after you're gone. Well done to these fine people. probably the best place to get a sub anywhere in Colorado. I grew up on the east coast and the one thing I miss is the subs. Snarf's has nailed it!. I've been to most of their locations from Fort Collins to Golden. It doesn't matter which one you go to, they are all consistently great. The sandwiches are served up exactly the same way at each location every time. One of the things that makes the east coast subs great is the bread. Snarf's has figured out how to make that rich, chewy bread with a thin crispy crust. Their sandwiches aren't like other sub shops that serve up a loaf of bread with a few slices of meat and a lot of fillers. Absolutely the best Sub Colorado! read more

I feel like the soups and chili are overlooked here at Snarf's - but they shouldn't be!! It's my favorite place in town to grab a bowl of something hot and delish! For $5.50 you can get a bowl of soup or chili with a big hunk of bread toasted with butter and seasoning. Cheap, filling, and yum! I wasn't a fan at first, but I slowly realized that everyone who loved it ordered the same sandwich every single time. So I started ordering whatever my friends did, making my way through the menu of flavorful sandwiches that were nonetheless failing to win me over. Finally I discovered the artichoke and feta, and now I'm sold! Great bread, toasted to perfection, filled with deliciousness! This was my favorite sandwich shop in college!!! I have only tried one thing on the menu despite having been there 30+ times! It's just so good, why get anything else!!! Had a French Dip from there the other day, and while I have no experiance with French Dips I gotta say it was really good and hopefully set the bar for other French Dips I might have in the future. I got the prime rib sub with horseradish (which apparently is their claim to fame). It was good. I ate it all. But 5 stars? 5 stars to me means that if you live anywhere near the dining establishment (eg. within a 45 minute radius), then you absolutely must make a visit. If you do not, then you are truly missing out. 3 stars means that it's worth a visit if you get around to it, and you probably will be happy with your experience--which is how I feel about Snarf's. I'm glad I checked it out, but won't become a regular (since I don't live that close). read more

Snarf's is delicious. I love the prime rib - ask for the horseradish, and extra peppers if you like it hot. The giardiniera peppers are to die for. Skip the line and order online. Delicious, pricey, over-the-counter sandwiches. Although I''ve only had the "veggie" and the artichoke and feta cheese subs...they are both excellent. If you like it spicy, asking for "everything" includes some yummy chile peppers (not pepperchinis which are only allegedly spicy). I took off one star though because paying almost 10 bucks for a foot long sub that you have to order at a counter is borderline absurd. Still, if you've got the loot and you don't mind not being waited on proper likes, then these sandwiches are hard to beat. read more

Snarf's! This place is forever connected to my first visit to Boulder, shortly before I ended up moving here, and I was hooked. For a quick sandwich place I think it's the nest for the price in Boulder, and their salads are amazing too. Everything is fresh and good quality, and it's in a good location. I absolutely dig local places that thrive and live up to their hype. Hadn't ever sampled their sandwiches (tried a milkshake this one time, at band camp, and it was real real yumbo), but got the chance a couple of days ago, after working up a goodly appetite on a nice little hike at Eldorado Springs. And boy, did that roast beef n provolone sammie hit the spot! Nicely toasted, with complementing flavors of the condiment accompaniments. Ment. (yes, i ment to do that. meant, i meant. bwahaaa.) Now I can't say with any a-thoritar whether these guys are the best in Boulder, but I do know that they by far outshine those clowns over at Half Fast (cf. my review of that place). read more

Snarf's opened a location in Longmont a few months back and I have to agree the best dang sandwiches hands down! The "pepper relish" is amazing! Only neg at this location is occasionally they run out of something, but it doesn't matter that much because no matter what you get it's going to be good. read more

It's like they've unionized and are now daring the manager to fire any of them. PRO: The Arapahoe location is still awesome. Fantastic food if you've got the time. I visit Snarfs perhaps every other month, and it's always the same, great sandwiches, horrible wait time, even if you're first in line. It amazes me how long Snarf's takes to make just one sandwich. It's just a sandwich, nothing complicated, great bread, fresh indredients, simple recipe, but man do they know how to camp out on your order. The employees always seem to be hustling so it's hard to figure out why it takes so long to get your food. They need a CU engineering student to consult on operational efficiency or something as it boggle the mind how friggin slow they are. Not only will you get the wrong sandwhich that you ordered, but they will BOTH overcharge you, AND it will show up on your bank statement for twice as much as what the store receipt said. The subs ain't bad here, but they're a little over dressed in my opinion. I had the prime rib and provolone (both of which are quite flavorful on their own), and added to it was some hot peppers, pickles, tomato, lettuce, and horseradish sauce. The result was that you couldn't really enjoy the primary ingredients of the sandwich. It still tasted good, but it could have been nearly any meat and cheese combo and it would have tasted about the same. Add a star for having zapps potato chips. Take a star away for some relatively surly stoner-ish service. Outdoor seating was nice on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. read more
