Parking: Open, free lot I ordered a shaved ice with dragon's blood (I think they told me it was coconut and fruit punch) and Melona (honeydew). The ice was so soft and fluffy even after being compacted. I I love shaved ice but the only thing that was missing would be little mochis. This was not an offered topping but I would love if it was! I went here for their halo halo but today they had a huge sign of a limited item, Ube Haupia Crunch Bowl! The picture made us try it and what a disappointment. We ordered and paid $10 and got it to go. When we got to the car to look at what we got, it was missing the crinkle cookie. I went back asking where it was and only then did they say they ran out. They did not mention it upon ordering nor after giving the order. Only when i went back to ask. They should have mentioned it before I ordered so I would have decided to not buy it anymore, or they could have offered to substitute it with something else or give a discount, just anything. I had snowflakes cater my sister's baby shower this past Saturday, (July 16, 2022). It was the perfect treat for the perfect summer day! Before I get into the nitty gritty on service during the day of the party, let's talk about communication and reservations. Kevin was very easy to talk to and set up our catering date. Once reserved it was easy to message him in regards to any questions or concerns we had leading up to the day of the event. On the day of the event, Kevin himself messaged me as a reminder as to what to expect for in regards to ETA timelines and who will be doing the shaved ice service at the party. Not only were Eric and Riley there on time they were quick to set up. They were very sweet and friendly to all the guests. The shaved ice station for our baby shower was a hit. They had a numerous amount of flavors that you could mix and match and literally try every flavor that they had that day. The celebrant of the day's go to was the POG topped with condensed milk. We definitely will recommend Snowflakes to friend and families to cater their events in the future. Not to mention will always go to snowflakes in Cerritos. It is honestly the BEST shaved ice I've had on the mainland that's the closest to back home in Hawaii. Obviously, everyone enjoyed it so much and kept coming back for more that we forgot to take any pictures. (I can honestly say I enjoyed it at least 3 times that day in between from hosting the games and party) But enjoy these two pictures of my kids over ten years ago right before Snowflakes opened their shop in Cerritos! The authentic Hawaiian style sweet treat didn't exactly transport us to the beloved islands, but we appreciated the relaxing time savoring the yummy Lola's Halo Halo. Great to find a strategically-located dessert spot in the mall after a heavy meal nearby. So many flavor choices, ono toppings galore. Mahalo to the friendly server waiting patiently for us to make up our minds. For me the yummy Ube ice cream was the main star. The Rice Krispies won best supporting role for giving the sweet concoction some textural contrast. Sooooo. These guys make good shaved ice and Halo Halo. Really. It's really good. We have been wanting to go here for a bit. We got home and opened the lid to the De Whip and the entire cup of De Whip is hollow right to the bottom. You can easily sit your spoon right in the middle and keep it clean,... because it's empty. They did a great job of covering the empty glass by a little swirl on the top. My guess is they are selling these cups as drink in the 6 ox+/- and just sell them In bigger cups so it looks better? This was a terrible experience that me and my friends had at snowflakes. The teenagers who were on duty tonight July 27 took our order then kicked us out! I'm appalled that this was my first experience there and we would be kicked out because it was 9 pm. They also lied to us about telling us that they were going to close before we made our purchase. Even so, if a customer makes a purchase isn't it bad business to take their money then kick them Out? These kids need more training on customer service!!! Really!!! I hope the owner can retrain them so that they will not give other new customers a bad experience like we had. COVID review: The place was still kind of busy, behind the counter, anyway. There was plenty of space to hang around and wait, and the customer service was pleasant, if only a bit busy, but that's at testament to their products, I suppose. Can't say I "tried" it. I walked in and they were out of certain flavors of ice cream & their Dole Whip. They were out of a lot of items and they told me it was due to their machine being down. The young man behind the counter was very apologetic & sincere. This was also at their new location on South street, just west of the old one. The place was very dark in there and not very inviting. Hopefully they do some renovating to make it bright like the last location. We love coming here so I hope that they are fully stocked next time we visit. Awful employee this evening. My husband just got home from ordering a "coconut shave ice w condensed milk and macadamia nut ice cream" and the milk and ice cream were not there. We paid extra for those to be added and we are not going to drive back 20 min to tell them to give us a refund. So I called, multiple times, looks like they haven't paid their phone bill. This place isn't cheap to begin with, add on the extras and it's even more expensive, now imagine getting home and slowly eating through the ice just thinking 'oh maybe it's just at the bottom' just for there to be nothing there. This place robs people of their money and does not have a working phone. It's a shame because the shave ice was really good, maybe we will try again some other time and double check before leaving, just sad that customers have to double check. Snowflakes has an interesting take on the classic and beloved Filipino dessert: the minimal shaved ice was replaced by Rice Krispies, doused with sweetened condensed milk, with a mound of candied fruits (no bananas though!) and crowned with a dollop of Ube (purple yam) ice cream. It was delicious! But the experience quickly soured with the hefty price tag: $10 for a regular serving. We recently catered acai bowls for my twin daughters' bday party and LOVED it! We worked with Kevin and he was so, so great!! Very personable and easy to work with... We had the pleasure of having Snowflakes cater at our wedding last week, and the only regret I have is not ordering enough. They have plenty of catering options but we went with the halo-halo package. I'm usually not that crazy about halo-halo but I wanted it for my wedding to go with the Filipino wedding theme, but I was immediately converted when we had the tasting at Snowflakes. They blend the milk and ice cream with the ice already, so it's way easier to eat and has the perfect ratio (I hate it when the ice melts before I get to mix the milk). Needless to say, you know the halo-halo is good when their line is longer than the open bar lol. From beginning to end, Kevin was super nice and easy to work with. He was great at communicating and price is more than fair. I can't wait to have another event where I can use Snowflakes again and couldn't recommend them enough! read more
