I've had a bad experience with this nail salon before but I decided to give it another try. I was very upset when I had booked an appointment for a specific day, and when I showed up for my appointment they said it not until the next day. Thought that was very unprofessional of them to just change my appointment without any notice or to even book me for a day/time that I did not request. On the other hand I would always get gel x here and they wouldn't even last 2 weeks they would pop off so easily. Just found myself wasting money after going so frequently. read more

This is my go to location for mani/pedis in the Sherman Oaks/Encino area. I have gone to other well rated nail salons closer to home and they all pale in comparison leaving my nails thin and brittle. I will never stray again. The aesthetic is beautiful and the staff are warm and welcoming. They always greet me with a smile and by name when I arrive. They have an amazing selection of colors including organic options. There is a discount when you pay in cash and have an atm in the shop. They are located in a shopping mall with parking underneath. They validate so it usually works out to $2. Check them out, they do great mani/pedis - you will leave feeling relaxed with beautiful nails. read more

I got dip powder with extensions. This set was atrocious. They have NO clue how to shape nails or deal with dip powder. I'm not sure if the pictures can truly show how thick and ill shaped these nails are. I believe the tech's name was Brandy. I asked her to file them down and fix the shape 10 times. I finally gave up and left but on my way to my car I decided to go back and plead once more for her to make them thinner and less lumpy and they had me wait an hour when there were almost no customers. Any tech could have filed them down. Very disappointed. Luckily I found a new salon.... they dont know what they are doing here. read more

The nail Spa was great! Everyone was super nice, the place was thing and they gave me at end of day appointment even though they were super busy. Great service. I love the decor as well with the pink chairs and chandeliers. They have a comfy waiting area and semi isolated. I haven't been to salon in over a year and they made me feel at home with luxury. Tiffany did my pedi and she was fantastic! My feet are clean and look pretty again. Parking is downstairs in mall parking. It cost 3 dollars after validation. read more

$25 for pedicure not worth it. Nail technician's job felt rushed. She barely removed any callus and nail cuticles. She did everything while talking to her coworkers and using her phone a lot- not a relaxing experience. Disappointing. I feel like I have wasted money. read more

Spent $100 for a full set and simple pedi. I asked for a hologram polish, I showed the picture from their own place and the guy said he can't do it!! Ok fine, I asked for a simple white ombré, this time he said they don't have the material to do it !!! It's ridiculous that they don't have a white nail polish which is the material to do plain white ombré !!!! I'm sure some professional jobs get done in this place as I saw the pictures but you have to be lucky to get a good service. I finally had no choice but a SIMPLE polish (it supposed to be a special treat for my birthday) and HE DIDN'T DO IT RIGHT! Loved my experience here! The staff was friendly and greeted me immediately as I walked in. Leslie did my gel X French ombré mani (bubble bath base) and Trissa did my gel pedicure. They were both very kind and did such a great job!! My nails look amazing, this might be one of my favorite manicures I've had. The shape was even and consistent, the polish was painted very neatly, and overall they look so beautiful! Highly recommend this salon! I want to say that Leslie is such an amazing nail technician. I've been seeing her for a few months now and my nails are always left so clean and elegant. I got my nails today and I am absolutely OBSESSED with them. I have been talking about my nails all day because I have been getting compliments left and right. Leslie thank you for being so great at what you do! I also want to add that Lynn is also so wonderful. My favorite nail salon! I've bounced around the Valley a lot trying to find the right place and I finally found it. Everyone there is extremely talented and my nails come out absolutely perfect every single time. My mom one time commented, "It looks like they were done by a machine!" I've been auditioning nail salons ever since my home shop closed last summer. I made an appointment at Soak last Saturday and they seemed confused when I showed up. After explaining 3 times what I was there for, they started my pedicure. The lady was nice, but I hate when they constantly try to upsell me. I do this all the time, and I know what you offer...if I want it, I'll ask. A man scurried in and started my manicure. He was breathing like he had waking sleep apnea, and I kept looking to see if he was sleeping or awake, but he was just snoring while awake...so that was gross. The shape of my nails is unlike anything I learned in any geometry class. I kept trying to guide him, but gave up. Long story longer, it was one of the worst manicures I've ever had. My nails look like garbage, the color is inconsistent (maybe he fell asleep in between coats and lost track), and they are already chipped. I'm usually a pretty chill nail customer, and I don't care about the money, but I'm pissed that I spent $140 on my mani/pedi only to have to have them redone days later. I keep looking at my hands and getting annoyed, so I felt inclined to write this review. read more

I used to love this place. After not having a manicure for over a year, I finally took the step of making an appointment. I arrived to discover that my manicurist was not there. After waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time, I left. An owner who really cared about her business would have immediately asked if I would make another appointment at a reduced cost but that didn't happen. I can only assume that the Owner feels that it really doesn't matter that I took the time to come to the salon and that my manicurist didn't show up on time. Oh well. Recently moved back to LA and made an appointment here after work. Got a dip manicure and a gel pedi. I'm extremely picky when it comes to my nails and I get extremely upset when my dip starts chipping prematurely as a result of bad technique. I'm so impressed by this salon!! I've had my dip for going on three weeks with no chipping, the person that did my nails shaped my nails so beautifully and they look so natural (previous salon made them super square and fake) and my pedicure was great and the polish and shape was amazing. I wish they did longer massage on your legs/feet and had massage chairs for pedis but in terms of quality of service, this will probably be my new LA nail spot! :) read more

UPDATE: So within hours after my review from 3 days ago, I got both a phone call and a response on Yelp! apologizing and inviting me back to get my nails redone at "my earliest convenience". I found this very thoughtful so today I called them to set the appointment for Thursday which is only 5 later. But the response was "usually we don't repaint them this late because now it seems like you want to get a new manicure" First of all no good manicure should be redone after 5 days and if you offer to make up for something, then just do that, don't insult your customers integrity!! People have lives, they have schedules, they have other things to attend to. I really wanted to go back and get a fresh perspective and rewrite my review because I hate giving bad reviews to nice people but oh well... So now I know for sure that I will never go back!! Ps. Space was so clean. No massage chairs but the chairs were comfy. The lady doing my nails was very nice and polite. I got a simple pedicure. $32. 5% off if you pay cash. Although the parking downstairs is validated you still pay $2 for 2 hours. Add that to the tip and I think the total is pretty expensive for a regular pedicure. read more

I've been bouncing around nail shops after moving late last year. I finally found my new shop! Huge parking garage, semi-valet with validation ($3 parking with validation). Beautiful and serene complex. Gorgeous shop! I love the big pink chairs and multiple chandeliers. Their color menu is for both gel and regular polish which is very convenient. They have you sanitize your hands upon arrival - appreciate that detail. My tech scrubbed my feet without tickling me so she must have magic powers! This is what happened to at Tintin Nails when the owner was too busy making appointments while doing my mancure and cut in to my right finger cuticle, causing pain and swelling. Does anyone know of a nail salon whose technicians are not multi-tasking while providing a service? Kayley was amazing, always checking with me if she was hurting me or if I was OK. I highly recommend her for a pedicure.

I have been getting my gel nails at Soak for a couple of months now, and I could not be happier. I had overheard two women talking about the gel nails. At first I couldn't tell what was so special about them, it looked just like polish, but then when they told me that their nails were almost two weeks old, I could not believe them. I never used to get my nails done because between, cooking, and doing dishes, and taking care of my boys, and our dog, polish only lasted a day at most. And when I asked the where this nail shop was, they told me it was in the Valley. I usually don't do much on that side of the hill, but I figured I'd give them a shot. At first I was very scared as I never got anything on my nails before, but the process was very simple, and everyone explained the process every step of the way. The shop itself is like no other nail shop I have been to, and now I am completely hooked. I come every two weeks, and get them taken off and fresh gels put on. Since I've started coming to Soak, I've had a couple of girls, and I still have yet to have a bad experience. One of the two owners are usually there and they are always so nice. I am embarrassed to admit that I never thought I'd be this in love with a nail shop and even less so in the Valley, but Soak Nails is the only place I will get my nails done. This is absolutely my favorite nail salon anywhere! I found it on the way to California Pizza Kitchen, and let me tell you I have been a fan ever since! They have absolutely the best manicurists anywhere, and they are so clean! You hardly believe you are in a nail salon. I have been to some restaurants which don't feel as nice as Soak Nails. All their lotions are organic or vegan, even their polish is vegan! After coming here for quite some time now, I finally decided to try their gel nails, and friends let me tell you, this girl is never going back! Yeah, I'm gelling! I was never an acrylics girl myself, as I always thought they looked scary (and I don't need chisels on my fingertips, if you know what I mean), but these gels are different. They look just like polish, come in a million colors, but they stay beautiful for weeks! And as soon as I'm done, I'm digging through my purse, no problem. And the next time I go, they just put some cotton dabbed in gel remover and after a few minutes, they peel right off! No pain, no drilling, no drama! It's so fantastic! Now, I have to warn you, after I bragged about my gels, one of my girlfriends tried gels at the place she goes to, and she was not happy. So I guess not all gels are the same? Not sure...will ask Sue at Soak Nails and find out what's different about their gels from other places and report back. read more

I had been going to another nail salon for almost 10 years, and I thought they were great, but friend recommended I try out Soak Nails, and am I happy I did! They are a completely different experience than what I have ever experienced from a nail salon. It's almost as if I was flying coach my whole life, and then all of a sudden I got upgraded to first class! And they are not even that expensive! As soon as I got in, I was greeted by the receptionist, after answering a few questions, I was shown inside to their waiting area. This place did not smell, and was so clean! They have a machine which sterilizes all their metal tools! Soon after I sat down, the girl who was going to do my service came to ask me to wash my hands. Her name was Lety, and she was absolutely wonderful! My service was so lovely, that I even fell asleep during my pedicure. She was very detail oriented, and you could just tell that she really cared about my service. Although the salon was pretty full, you did not get a sense that she was trying to hurry through my service, and my nails never looked this good. I was also very impressed by how diligently they cleaned everything. As soon as a client was finished, another girl came by and cleaned everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING! Like everyone else mentioned, this salon is amazing! You really must see it to believe it, but the one thing that really struck me about Soak Nails is how much they clean! The whole time I was there, this girl just kept going back and forth cleaning everything. Another customer would barely have gotten off the pedicure chair, and she would rush in and clean everything. It almost reminded me of one of those car race pit stop teams. I've been to a lot of salons, but never been to one where you actually see someone cleaning everything. During my pedicure alone, I must have seen her clean three chairs, sweep and mop the floor. They even fill up the pedicure tubs with the blue stuff that kills all the bad germs and stuff. I felt good about going into Soak Nails, and I felt even better coming out knowing that they really do clean everything! Update-They now also carry this new gel-polish which l guess is a mix between polish and gel. I've only got polish on my hands before, but this stuff is just plain amazing! I love it! The mother of one of my daughter's friends had the most beautiful nails, and I just had to ask what was her secret. Between kids, dishes and everything else I do, my nails did not stay nice looking for more than a couple of days. She told me she was getting gel nails at Soak Nails. I had never heard of such a thing, but I was definitely suffering of nail envy, and I called them up and made an appointment. I am so happy I did! I used to go a place in Sherman Oaks on Van Nuys, but after seeing Soak Nails, I am never going anywhere else. I used to think the girl I used to go to was good, but she can't hold a candle to Lety! She took such good care of my hands and the gels stay on my nails and don't come off or chip. If there is a nail heaven, this place is it! I used to go to this smelly place in Westwood near UCLA, and I cannot believe that Soak has been opened for over a year and I just now found it! Where have I been? I eat at California Pizza Kitchen all the time, and I just noticed them. This place is so amazing that I don't even know where to begin. It's perfect, just perfect! From the moment I walked it I knew it was like no where else I had ever done my nails. It doesn't smell, the people there actually seem to want you there, and wait for it...they speak English! OMG! This place is totally OFF THE HOOK! My BF's sister told me that I had to get my nails done before heading back home, and she said she knew the perfect spot. Now, I warned her that my nail place can't be beat. She kept telling me to just wait and see, and I was like "yeah right?!?". From the outside the place looked nice, but when we walked in, I was blown away! Inside it looked like a mix of Uptown sophistication with SoHo cool. It being a weekend, it was packed (but you would never be able to tell from the outside!), but it wasn't terribly noisy and my service didn't feel rushed. It's hard to put my finger on it, but the whole time I was there I just felt so at ease, not at all how I usually feel at most nail places. Came in with my friend a couple of days ago. After having lunch at CPK, we noticed their sign saying they had happy hour (Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 - 2) so we decided WHY NOT! Luckily they were able to take us in right away! Everyone here is so friendly. They really make you feel at home. They also sell the cutest sandals! Their lotion and soak scents smelt so great! Where can I start? First of all, Sue the manager is absolutely a doll. If i could I would take her home with me. And Young the other manager is just too nice for words (although he is always pushing those cookies). The place is spotless. I think someone else mentioned it, but I will say it again, it is cleaner than my doctor's office. The service is absolutely to die for. I swear I feel like a movie star when I come here.
