Not a huge fan. We got something very different from what we ordered but it's ok because we got to sample the wings. There was too much oil on the wings. The oil tasted old & gross. I came here on opening day. I was surprised how big the menu was. They have lots of food besides wings. There are rice bowls, boba, egg rolls, and more. They gave us 5 free original wings with a meal order. The wings were so good and big. My boyfriend got the hot wings thinking that it would be like a buffalo sauce, instead, the smell of the sauce was a little too strong and there were too much garlic. I recommend the original wings for now cause I haven't tried any other flavors! We also got a free sample of their house milk tea and it was so delicious. You can actually taste the tea! I couldn't finish all of my wings when we shared. Also got tater tots and mashed potatoes as the sides. i didn't get a chance to try the mashed potatoes, but the tater tots were yummy. they turned a little soggy afterwards, but it's understandable. the sauces for the wings were good, but i didn't like the lemon pepper one. the honey walnut did tasted like the Chinese restaurant sauce they use for their mayonnaise shrimp. I really wanted to like SoCal Wings...because I really like wings and wanted to find a good place. These are solid wings, but going any further than that is sort of pushing it. We ended up getting a family platter with 50 wings in 5 flavors. Buffalo, Honey BBQ, Aloha, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Parmesan were all alright, nothing super standout on the list. In retrospect, the latter two were on the salty side, though that's possibly unavoidable. For all the sides, while the fried zucchini was good, the rest were unremarkable. The onion rings are made from surprisingly sweet onions, and even though the sizes were "large" the offering didn't seem as hefty. The lackluster icing on the cake was the service. Don't get me wrong, the employees there weren't rude. But they were also far from present. I had called in and came in to pick up the order, and it really felt like they went out of their way to complete the transaction using as few words as possible. Maybe they were challenging themselves to do just that, I don't know. Thanks to the restaurant for throwing in an extra order of their sriracha something flavored wings. I was going to give this place 4 stars but after much deliberation I have decided to give them 5 stars: I order a variety of things when I am here such as the wings, the wing family meal, popcorn chicken and most recently the SoCal Fries--I also on occasion get a drink. This is now my go-to place for wings ever since BWW raised their prices--I've been here several times already and I plan to continue to come back. I have only ever had one mediocre bordering on bad experience but I'll let it slide for now. On to the actual review: The reason I decided to give this place 5 stars is because I really enjoy their food and to me the service can be meh but if the food is good I'll go back--if the food is shitty and service meh then it's a no for me. The food here is good and it always satisfies my cravings--whether it's their wings, or their popcorn chicken which I also really like, their sides or recently their SoCal Fries which I never bothered getting before, it's always good. The service on the other hand is always meh to me--a couple of times I've come in and one girl is super super nice but most of the time they seem to not want to be there and want you to hurry up and order. Most of the girls usually seem like they're in a bad mood I get it--I work in food service too it sucks so I won't fault them. But I'm not giving them any points for service. I do appreciate that no matter what they always give me dipping sauces for free even if their menu does not explicitly say it comes with dipping sauce--I love sauces so this is a win for me. Their wings are good but I like them ordered a specific way--all flats and no batter. If there was no option for no batter then I would be giving them 4 stars as I really don't particularly enjoy the batter on the wings. I like that they don't charge for all flats like most other places do. I love their sides especially the cajun fries and the mozzarella sticks and I love the marinara sauce that comes with the mozzarella sticks. The popcorn chicken is also good but standard--very much like the kinds you can get at boba places. The boba and drinks on the other hand are kind of meh--not that special. I would give the boba itself a 3/5 but since I rarely ever get this it didn't affect my the rating. The SoCal fries I was really pleasantly surprised by I ordered the large so I could have leftovers for later and it was HUGE! It was the size of a big takeout box filled with fries, cheese and loaded with chicken. I kid you not, the box was 60% chicken and 40% fries--the chicken was boneless wings but it was not heavy on batter at all and most of the pieces were huge chunks. There was so much chicken leftover I ate the rest with rice the next day. The prices here are also super affordable--the small popcorn chicken is like $4 but it's a pretty big portion. The large SoCal Fries were $8 but HUGE! Definitely worth the $8--easily could feed two people. Wings. 4.5/5 Boba. 3/5 SoCal Fries. 6/5 Sides. 5/5 Service. 4/5 Overall, I love most of the food here. Forget Bdubs, this is the go to spot. LOCATION || It is in a small plaza, but every time I've dine here, it has surprisingly not been pack so, plenty of parking. Worst case, park by CVS. But yeah, it's a small little joint. I've came a few times with a big group, and we've been able to put tables together and sit. FOOD || Dry rubs - jalapeno peppers are the go tos! My friends love the smokin' bbq as well. Wet rub - lemon pepper and honey garlic sriracha are pretty bomb. I really like that this place doesn't over sauce or rub, and the chicken are well cooked. We ordered 50 wings, and all were evenly cooked to the crisp. SERVICE || The girls there are very sweet and helpful on suggesting things if you want to try something new. So here's a tip for new customers: yes all the wings are battered, but you can request them not to do that. You can also request to put the sauce on the side (best way to have crispy wings). Among the standard wing flavors they have spicy garlic buffalo, mango madness, honey garlic sriracha, and house special (my favorite). Odd parking lot. I ended up in Popeye's parking lot bc I thought they were connected but not so much. Very much a whole in the wall! I didn't notice overly friendly service or anything. So good. Never had a thing for wings (I usually would go to BWW) but this place changed me. I've been craving this place ever since I tried it! The chicken here is juicy and very moist. The sauces for the wings itself are flavorful and creates a perfect meal with a bowl of rice. It is a bit salty in my opinion if I don't have carbs with it. My favorite would be the spicy lemon pepper. NOTE: it's not a dry rub and it's not actually that spicy. The sauce tastes much like garlic butter with a hint of lemon pepper. I do wish the citrus flavor of the lemon was more present. Good thing I had the lemon pepper seasoning from BWW to sprinkle onto the wings!! It created an extra step of flavors to the wings. Cajun fries, tater tots, and fried zucchini were the sides we got. All of them came out fresh and crisp. I was surprised about how good the Cajun fries were; I wasn't expecting it to be memorable. Also, their GREEN THAI TEA was wonderful; I enjoyed every bit of it. The regular milk tea was okay. I liked that the sauce containers they gave us were huge in size, much bigger than the usual. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is that Everytime we call and order they say it takes 10 to 15 minutes but when I get there 30 minutes later it's not even ready.
