We tried Social Bird for the first time a few weeks ago and had such a great experience. My husband and I sat at the bar and our bartender was the best bartender we've ever had! I want to say her name was Camilla? I really hope someone gives her a shoutout if I have the wrong name. That girl knew how to make drinks!!! We had a couple on the menu then gave her a challenge and asked for a few off menu. She didn't miss! She made the best jalapeño margarita I've ever had in my life. She made my husband the best daiquiri! She works on Friday and I highly recommend her. She's super knowledgeable and also a joy to talk to. Aside from drinks, we had a bunch of shareable plates (salmon tartare, burrata, chicken and biscuits, cod tacos and a pudding for dessert). Everything was so delicious but the chicken and biscuits was to die for. We went back this weekend just to order it again. I don't know how they make their chicken so juicy but my goodness. Late post. My friend recommended this place. It's pretty cozy, full bar (if it's the right word), nice setup. There are outside seatings as well. We ordered: Avocado Bruschetta, Roasted Mary's Half Chicken and Hamburger. For dessert, we got Lemon Meringue & one scoop of Ice Cream. Everything was delicious. My friend and I came here for the first time about a month ago and it was amazing! It was super busy and fun to be at the bar. We got a few things but the standout was the Korean style chicken wings. But luckily a table for four opened up in the back, a section I never knew existed. I enjoy sitting in the front because I'm a people watcher. My sister has been a big fan of this place so I was excited to come try the next time I was in town. We finally got some sister time and we had such a yummy meal! Only thing I regret is not ordering the oysters, so I definitely need to add them to my order during my next visit. They are both upscale and classy bars that are great for dates and dinners. The host were really nice and found us a table quickly. I am giving five stars due to food and service. Everything was great. However, it was my first time here and I was meeting someone and trying to arrive on time. I parked in the lot behind the restaurant. I would normally expect a lot like this to be free in Lafayette. The signs were not in all areas and it was not at all clear that you need to pay for parking. I am writing this at the same time I am paying my parking ticket. This is very annoying. I think a lot more should be done to make it clear that you need to pay for parking before going into any of the establishments. I just came here today because the lady I am caregiver for who turned 95 this week invited me to have lunch with her daughter, grandson and his fiancé. I normally don't get much opportunity to dine in Lafayette but it's obviously a darling little community full of excellent places to eat. I was extremely happy with everything we tried. We started with raw oysters which were immaculately shucked, no bits of shell and the mignonette sauce was well balanced. Then we moved onto the salmon tartare which had a lovely balance of textures and flavors. We also ordered the burrata and prosciutto and some sort of sweet tomato ham. Not my favorite. My entree was the fried chicken sliders but I truly wanted to indulge in the steak frites or the shrimp and polenta. The Sancerre I had was sublime. Dessert was the pumpkin bread pudding with two sauces and these lovely pecans. Nothing but YUMMERS. I shall be coming here on my own to treat myself to a solo meal and explore the menu further. The service here is amazing. We were seated outside at first because we didn't mind which table came first, but upon seeing how cold it was outside, we asked to move inside. They were very accommodating despite how busy they were and we were given new waters. Our server was very knowledgeable and was quick to give recommendations when we asked what he thought was better. He gave us both options on the table so we could try it but his recommendation was the better option. They have a full bar and the drinks and appetizers come out before the main entree (something that is very important to me). The oysters were fresh. The truffle fries are a must have and once I saw Wagyu burger on the menu, I didn't look at anything else. I will be coming back to try other things such as KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and the buttermilk fried chicken. Salmon tartare came first, was delicious when combined with cucumber, avocado and chips. Korean fried wings: drizzled with apricot glaze goodness were crisp and tasted magnificent, offering a hint of spiciness. Our favorite dish was quite unexpectedly roasted baby carrots: they were beautifully-caramelized and seasoned. Slow braised short ribs were fine, familiar tasting with very tender meat (polenta underneath) but not mesmerizing. For dessert, I was looking forward to that chocolate peanut butter tart but it was nowhere to be found.
