Her name is Alejandra. She truly brought back the youth in my dog, and he looks like a one-year-old again. I have recently moved to Austin (from out of state) and was in search for a mobile groomer which was a bit difficult to find in the part of Austin I live in. I found SOCO which is 6 min from me and brought in my two pups. Once I arrived for their appointment in the morning , I met with the two young ladies at the reception area (very nice girls) I explained to them one of my pups has a heart murmur and the other has anxiety from previous abuse which I rescued him from. I also informed them he may become nervous and stiffly but to please let me know if anything happens and I'll zoom on down. The grooming went well, one of my pups did get a bit nervous but since they met the receptionist , she was able to help calm him in which she did and I appreciate it very much. I too I'm very worry of taking them to groomers because of horror stories I've read and witnessed before. I would like to say I am very pleased with the grooming and they both came home happy and playful although one isn't very trusting of people, they both came back happy as their normal selves. They take the best care of Luna & I know because she is always in the best of "tail wagging" spirits when I pick her up! She has left other groomers like petsmart shaking in fear! The front desk girls are sweet as can be - Nicki the groomer does the best cut ever! Luna gets compliments everywhere we go on the style & evenness of the cut. I would never trust my dog with these people. In my boarding agreement I mentioned my dog needed to wear a cone in the kennel because when he gets bored or stressed he chews obsessively on his feet. They called to tell me its against policy to allow dogs to wear cones because it was a health hazard if they got the cone off. I told them I understood and that it was a valid concern however the risk of my dog destroying his feet without a cone was a guarantee. If we are assessing risk, then not wearing a cone is a greater risk. I asked to speak to the manager in hopes of finding a compromise or finding some way to make sure my dog isn't allowed just chew his feet raw in their care. But they refused to allow me to speak to a manager saying he wasn't in. I asked for them to have him call me when he was in, then they said he wasn't coming in that day, then I said I could talk to him tomorrow and she still said no. This was after they told me they spoke to the manager about my concerns, if he's not in how did you talk to him about my concerns? The complete disregard for what I was saying was in my dog's best interest and health and the refusal to allow me to speak to a manager gave me serious concerns for their ability to care for my dog. Carolina and Kyla were absolutely amazing with my baby girls. Can't say enough positives about this place. The girls texted me updates because this was really their 1st time boarding and it was for 5 days so I was certainly nervous . I would say our dogs are large, sometimes skiddish, and overall fairly difficult to deal with and they did an excellent job. Luna didn't eat before when I've left her and I know they took extra time to ensure she ate. The toy you see in the photo was given to her from the team there and it certainly helps her feel more secure. Love this place and if you're looking to board, look no further! read more

**BEWARE**If I could give 0 stars I would. The newest groomer Clarissa?? might be the rudest I have encountered. We have been going here for the last year to groom our golden doodles and have been extremely happy until this morning. Not only did she hang up on us but we booked the appointment 2 weeks out for our dogs just to drive the entire way to the office and come to find out she was unwilling to do her job. We had an appointment set for 8AM upon arrival and upon explaining how we requested for our dog to be groomed...she called to inform us that she could not perform task at hand. When asking to speak with upper management she hung up on us. Completely unprofessional and an untrained groomer. Not only are we out the lost time but we need to scramble to find another groomer because both dogs are overdue for a groom. **UPDATE** Todd, if you would review your files (if there are any??) you might notice we had booked 2 appointments for today a few weeks ago. 8AM AND 11AM. We drove to your facility just to be told that they had no recollection of booking the 8AM?? And to bring both dogs back for the 11AM appointment. My list of requirements included that they be trimmed to 1/2" puppy cut, no mustache and no shaving around their eyes. Is this a difficult request? This had never been an issue prior. And when we booked, I was told this could be done. Let me address your accusation about "making demands". My request was not at all a demand, especially because it had been done previously and I was told it was not an issue when booking. I think my "demand" was pretty standard(1/2 cut/don't shave eyes and don't leave a mustache). Don't you think? It sounds like it is you and your team might not be on the same page. read more

I've been to a few different groomers on the south side of Austin and I'm happy with SoCo Pet Lounge. They listen to haircut requests, they are timely and my dogs don't freak out going there for their grooming. That one part is huge to me, as I hate seeing my dogs shake or be fearful of doing anything! The groomer always asks if I like the haircuts and they let customers come back within a week for a clean up or adjustment to the cut as long as the pups are clean. That's so awesome! I said "it's like a teddy bear face with his eyebrows and beard more defined" which is not what was done. I ended the call with "thanks for shaving my dog" after asking the woman what to do because I explained to her that the day I took him in was the only day I was able to have anyone take him in for me-- and that I would be leaving town that weekend. She said she didn't know what to say and out of frustration that was my response. Rather than her asking for future scheduling that's all that was said. Yes, nothing was said upon pick up because the person picking him up did not know the cut asked for. However, they knew it did not look good on look like previous cuts and sent me photos immediately. Two romps in the mud, a trip to the pool, and a week later and my dog still smells amazing. If I could get this groomer to cut my own hair, I would. Not only is it the most thorough and concise cut my dog has ever had, but she smells damn near heavenly. I asked for a "lion's cut" because I think it's funny to make my dog look like an idiot. And let me tell you, she is the best looking lion-dog this world has ever seen. It is the perfect summer cut for an Australian Shepherd who still wants to keep the party in the front. Raisen isn't the friendliest. Raised by humans and surprised she's still a dog- hanging with other canines ain't her thing. SoCo used top jedi mind trick technology to figure out exactly what Raisen's squad goals were and paired her with dogs she didn't want to eat alive. Not only did Raisen find her posse, but she was actually on good behavior! I don't want to use the term miracle worker, but if your dog needs a day at the spa with a lion hair cut, we should probably be friends and then take your dog to Soco Pet Lounge. read more

My dog has been for day care or grooming 3-4 times and it's been fine. I dropped him off ~8am. He got into a box of powerbars the night before and ended up with diarrhea as a result. They called me at 3.30pm telling me he had had it all day and hadn't peed. They separated him from the rest of the dogs then charged me an extra $25 separation fee on top of day care. The girl I talked to let slip that they had noticed he was sick in the morning but didn't bother calling me until EIGHT HOURS AFTER THE FACT and still charged me the extra fee when they should have called me to pick him up in the morning. read more

Wasn't impressed when I picked my dog up. He had stayed for 5 nights. My husband was called this morning As I was getting ready to head over to pick him up and was told he had Kennel cough and to please pick him up ASAP. The issue I had with that was I was #1 number on the contact list and my husband was last. So why wasn't I called first? My other issue was when I did come in to pick up, all I got asked was who I was picking up and was told the total of the stay. Lady working the front desk wasn't going to mention anything about the cough so I finally asked, does he have kennel cough? How? All she said was he was hacking that morning and they hadn't taken him outside separately at all that morning. It was almost 10am...so I have to assume that he had gone since yesterday evening without being taken out. Even if that was at 8pm, that's still 14 hours without being let out. She went and grabbed him but No overview on how his stay was, if he had eaten that morning or at all during his stay, if there were any other issues with him....just asked for payment and had to pry about the cough. read more

I found SOCO after looking for a reasonably priced groomer that wasn't Petco. We have a 60lb Husky and Aussie mix that sheds A TON. She hadn't been groomed in a while because we had a really bad experience with another groomer when she was younger. She is in the midst of shedding her winter coat and the hair was unbearable so it was time to get her deshed. The booking process was easy and all the staff was EXCEEDINGLY friendly! I ended up paying a $35 deposit and was able to get an appointment within two weeks. We got to speak directly to Clarissa (the groomer) and tell her what we wanted exactly. We dropped her off and 2 hours later she was ready to be picked up. Our dog is a little bit anxious and so we were worried she was going to have a bad time but after picking her up it was clear the staff was extremely loving and caring with her. She looked amazing and was cut exactly how we wanted her to! She was so happy that she barely wanted to leave with me, not a bit anxious or upset. I ended up paying $65 + tip upon pickup. We were quoted much more at Petco even without add-ons. I am beyond happy with SOCO Pet Lounge and will ABSOLUTELY be back! read more

I would give zero if I could. I took my parents dog to day boarding there because usually my grandmother is gone to take care of him during the day but she is out of town for a few months. Otis is such a sweet boy, he is 1 year old and NEEDS to play during the day. We brought him home today and his "report card" said he did wonderful, no issues! Well the manager tells us he's not allowed back because his face "looks too much like a "pitbull" SERIOUSLY?! as someone who worked in a veterinarian clinic i expect people in this type of business to be the first to know a BREED does not define the behavior of a pet. I thought my dog had a great three day stay here when I picked her up. The lady at the front desk said she did great, got along with the other dogs, everything went well. I threw her blanket and food bag in the trunk of my car and went home to drop her off before work. As soon as she got in the door, she gulped down 2 cups of water in one sitting. Mind you, she is a 20lb dog so that is an insane amount. As soon as I brought her food out, she whined like crazy and ate harder than I had ever seen before. I thought she just had been playing really hard over the weekend. Two days later, I went to get her stuff out of the car to wash. The food bag felt heavy, so I looked inside. Out of the 6 bags of preportioned kibble I sent, only 1 was gone. In three days, all she had to eat was 2/3 a cup of food. No one mentioned this to me, I never got a phone call or email saying she was refusing to eat. Then I remembered when I picked her up, the lady at the desk checked me out while another girl went to get my dog. This other girl was told the food bag was above her kennel. I should have picked up on that, but since I always leave an extra bag just in case, logically thought she was referring to that. Why would she have to be told where the food is? Extremely angry and disappointed. I don't care the circumstance, there is absolutely no excuse for this. If this was neglect, it's animal abuse. If my dog was refusing to eat (she loves her Orijen kibble and goes crazy for it, so unlikely), I should have been told. ***EDIT*** Owner contacted me and said there was a miscommunication with the staff and she was being fed the house food. Given that my dog is sensitive to food changes, changing cold turkey has caused her to have ugly diarrhea problems. Added one star back in for them explaining the situation. read more

Another lucky find for me, thanks to a Living Social voucher. My husband and I hate to trim our sweet dog's nails. We can't bear to get it wrong, so I jumped on this Living Social opportunity for grooming. First of all, our Minnie, a 40 lb mixed boxer, is timid with big dogs and people she doesn't know. When we first got there, a HUGE black Great Dane came out to greet her. When I expressed concern that Minnie might suddenly react, especially since Minnie was still on leash, they put the Great Dane away, who was perfectly behaved by the way, without making me feel embarrassed. Then the groomer came over to greet Minnie, and within seconds, Minnie was letting her pet her and touch her head, which is so often not the case with her as she tends to be very hesitant with strangers. And, most of all, Minnie wasn't clingy which is usual for her. She felt very safe very quickly. In other words, Soco Pet Lounge has very good vibes. When I picked her up, she was beautifully groomed. After talking with them about their doggie day care, I scheduled a visit in a couple of weeks, so she can become familiar with Soco on a regular basis. It gives me peace of mind to know that we have a place like Soco Pet Lounge to take care of her when we have to go away for a few days. read more

Wow, what horrid customer service and I cannot believe they treat their customers the way they do. I dropped my dog off for service and when I picked him up they failed to do what I told them to do. When the groomer came out she said it was my mistake because I did not tell them exactly what I wanted done. When I made the reservation I told them EXACTLY what I wanted done. They failed to do this. When they told me they could hold on to my dog for three hours before they could correct the issue I told them this was unacceptable. I am like everyone else out there and have a tight schedule. I told them holding on to my dog for an additional three hours would not work. The owner or pseudo-manager came out and proceeded to get rude with me. I was a bit irate at this point. They proceeded to take their sweet time to charge me for the services they did perform. The owner/psuedo-manager then started to approach me in an aggressive manager and proceeded to call me an A-hole and a jerk. I told him I would NEVER come back to this horrible establishment. What is worse? When I saw my dog, other dogs were in the kennel next to them and obviously soiled himself and they did NOTHING to clean the dog. They left him sitting there helpless. There are plenty of other places in Austin that will treat you with respect. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. When I left my card at the counter the same guy yelled at me at the door and said "hey jackass, do you want your card" and when he handed to me he then pretended to lunge at me like he was going to punch me and told me to "get the F off the property!" I cannot believe any business establishment would treat any customer this way! I was not a happy camper when they did not do perform the services I ordered. Traveling all day to get home and to be treated the way they treated me is truly unacceptable. read more

I have never experienced anything worse than this place. They keep the dogs locked in the kennel for the whole day long. They have so many playgrounds around that look beautiful but obviously they use them just for competitions, not for the dogs who stay there to let them play and run outside. Our dog came back after a week and half with a cold. I wonder if they even heat the place where the dogs are staying. Horrible experience, horrible place. The location is fabulous, but alas the groomers I used was not. The front desk was not very friendly... ok, I thought, who cares? The groomer was friendly and my pup went happily with her. But, when I picked him up, he was unhappy. My Bichon had become a Poodle and boy did he know his famous mustache was GONE! In addition, she did nothing to his tail (Poodle in face only, apparently) and his nails were barely touched (maybe not at all) They just don't know what they're doing. Pros--location, speed!
