I recently moved to town and was referred to SOCO by Capital Vet when I took my pup to update his shots. My dog was a rescue and is EXTREMELY terrified of other dogs. Thus, I have always gone to great lengths to avoid boarding. However, as I previously mentioned, I just moved to Austin and had not yet established any real contacts. When I found out I had to work three consecutive twelve hour shifts, I knew I really had no choice. Although Bear is potty/crate trained, I do not feel comfortable leaving him home alone for more than four-five hours at a time. With that said, I decided to give SOCO a chance. Since it's across the street from the vet, I stopped in after Bear's visit... The girls were really nice and didn't hesitate to give me a tour. The facility is VERY clean and I can honestly say has no traceof urine/feces smell. (Which is a major plus, and I would like to know their secret!) Anyway, long story short...I was more than pleased and so was Bear. The girls explained to me their "TLC time" and he got to play with them (seperate from all other canines) for a couple hours throughout each day. I felt anxious when I first left him, but when I called to check up the staff put my mind at ease. I felt even better when I returned and he didn't seem overly excited to see me--as if he wanted to stay. (That's a first!) Furthermore, the pricing is great. I don't care too much about money when it comes to my baby, but I was shocked out how cheap the three days turned out to be...Needless to say, I will most DEFINITELY be boarding again--even when I do start making friends here! read more

I (and Maggie) are big fans of this place. They offer doggie-daycare, grooming, and boarding. I've never used the daycare services, so this review is solely on the grooming and boarding. My dog is finicky about new places, and can be a bit bull-headed when it comes to new people. I was a bit nervous about leaving her here, as there didn't seem to be many other dogs her size during her stay, but the staff assured me she would be fine. I lingered a bit too longin the office after I dropped her off, and I think I was visibly nervous, because the girl at the front desk asked me if I wanted to take a tour or maybe pick out a toy for Maggie. I regained my composure and I left my dog in the care of the staff. The staff went as far as to send me photo updates of my dog, and upon her pickup, there was a signed 'letter' from Maggie talking about the fun she had. The only thing that was awry was my extra food bag was missing, but I'm assuming they just gave it to her after a long day of play. read more

After planning a trip back home to Florida to visit my parents, I stumbled upon a Living Social voucher for this pet lounge. My yorkie Sammy, and my Daschund Grettle stayed here for 5 days. One of those nights was free for one pet with my voucher, so that was nice! The girls at Soco were very friendly and informative. I felt very content leaving Sammy and Grettle in their hands. I called a few times while I was in Tampa to check on the dogs. I was glad to hear both times when I called that the dogs were doing great and having a lot of fun. I was able to go onto Soco's facebook page and saw updated pics with Sammy and Grettle! The dogs were very excited to see me when I picked them up, but fell right to sleep on the way home. Knowing my dogs they probably played hard the whole time! I just found out about the daycare and plan on bringing them in sometime while I am at work to get some energy out! I gave this place 5 stars and would recommend them to a friend. read more

We've boarded our dog 2 years in a row at Soco for the Christmas holiday. Both times he had a great time, was fed his food we brought, and had plenty of play time with other pups. I called this Christmas to check on how our pup was doing, yet I happened to call about 10 minutes before they opened. I didn't leave a message, but the friendly staff called back the number on caller ID to make sure all was well. I really appreciated that extra effort to reach out. Overall our dog had a great time both years and seemed happy and well taken care of. The staff has been kind and friendly and we plan on boarding with them again in the future. read more

Our dog, McGruff, is our baby. We've boarded him at SoCo multiple times over the past year and a half, for stays as long as 8 days, and he is always well taken care of. He is happy to be dropped off, and is happy when we pick him up. The grooming service appears to be satisfactory, though we are not very particular about his haircuts. Overall, we trust the staff, who are always happy to provide updates while we are away. We also use their partner business, Capital Vet, across the street, and it's clear that both businesses care about the animals. We'll continue to board McGruff at SoCo Pet Lounge when the need arises. read more

I took my very sick dog with lymphoma to Soco Pet Lounge were Paisley groomed him. I need to let everyone know how loving patient and kind she was and did an amazing job!!! She went above and beyond, she also groomed by Maltese and poodle mix and did a penominal job as well. She is more the a groomer! I would call her an angel. She is a groomer that actually cares and listen and put your dogs first , making them her number 1 priority. So if you want more then a dog groomer go see Paisley she is more the a dog groomer, she CARES!!!!!! I am very sad that I lost my loving copmanion this evening. Kim Cruz read more

We have been going to SOCO since we moved to Texas last year and have been very pleased with both the boarding and grooming. We toured another "facility" in the "hills" were the affluent people go and I must say I wasn't impressed- even though some of their services were a little cheaper. SOCO has a very personable staff and their facility is as good/clean as I have seen. As a reasonable dog owner I have always had my animals shots up to date and had proof from the vet prior to boarding - kennels must be strict on vaccinations (Texas requirements may differ from other states). I won't take my Chuck anywhere else for grooming going forward. The girls that checked us in were so sweet to Chuck and me and they could tell I was crunched for time, trying to get to work by 8:00, so they expedited our check in quickly and efficiently. I've taken my boy to the big box places and my previous vet's office and every time (I guess because of his thick coat) he was still damp when I picked him up. The lovely folks at Soco gave him a full blow dry. He looked so handsome and smelled like a dream, without the scent being overwhelming. Highly recommend them! read more

I'm new in Austin and was apprehensive as usual to use a new 'untested' groomer. I chose SOCO Pet Lounge off the internet, mainly because it was close to where I live. I then crossed my fingers. I'm happy to say that both my dog and I were VERY happy with the results! Honestly it was one of the best haircuts 'Mattie' had ever gotten. It was very evident that the groomer 'Paisley' had a real love for animals, and immediately made me feel that I was leaving Mattie in good hands. Thanks for the GREAT job all around. I could go on about this place and how much they have done for my dogs in terms of both grooming and boarding. I am one of those dog owners that is absolutely particular in every aspect of my dog's care. I left very specific instructions, and they followed them to a T. I even left some extra food in there to make sure that they were measuring it correctly. It is relieving to know there is a place I can feel safe leaving my dog. The boarding prices and hours were exactly what we were looking for. My wife dropped off our two Goldens on a Friday morning and we were able to pick them up on a Sunday afternoon. So many places have such strange hours that It was nice to be able to come on the weekend to pick up the dogs. We didn't schedule a bath, but one of our dogs got so muddy while playing that the groomer gave him a bath just so he would be clean when we picked him up. I was wholly thankful for that! read more

Today was my dog's first day of Doggy Day Care, and I am so pleased how he handled it! He was happily exhausted when I picked him up, the lady at the desk told me he played with other dogs and also got one-on-one time with the staff. And my dog can be shy, so it made me feel good that they cared enough to make him feel comfortable. It's reassuring to know that I can trust in this Doggy Day Care for my extra long days at work! I recently brought my large dog into Soco Pet Lounge for daycare and he was so tired out when I picked him up. They have both indoor and outdoor play space where he played with dogs with a similar energy level. Their hours of operation are great because I can drop him off as early as 7:30am and pick-up until 6:30pm. I went ahead and bought the 5 pack of daycare because I will certainly be back. read more

My two dogs were in need of some intense de-matting and bathing. One is old and deaf, and the other is an overexcited little dude who can be a handful to try to hold still. But, the groomer handled them wonderfully. I could tell the dogs had a great experience at the Spa with Paisley. I got them back as happy as could be and looking GREAT, despite all the work it must have taken! read more

Fabulous new groomer! I have a very anxious dog, and we've been turned away at several other local places who couldn't handle her. The new groomer at SOCO Pet Lounge is known for being able to groom 'ungroomable' dogs, so I thought, why not give it a try. She was able to successfully groom him, and he looks fabulous! I like using daycare services because I work long hours in the middle of the week and I don't have time to run my dogs on the weekdays. SOCO Pet Lounge does thet for me, and I pick up tired and happy dogs at the end of their stay and play. The prices are iow in comparison to some of the other local kennels.
