We came here after seeing the Somebody Feed Phil episode on Croatia. We tried the cevapi, a sandwich made with small sausages and onions with a red pepper paste and cheese sauce. We also tried the beef burek a phyllo pastry filled with beef, rolled then coiled and baked. The cevapi was savory, delicious and filling. I highly recommend this. The burek came fresh from the oven, hot and the phyllo pastry was crispy. The beef filling was not as tasty as the sausages but still good to try. The Burek was amazing even though I got the wrong one in my order, as I ordered the spinach and got the cheese only .. it was good! after seeing amazing pictures of the pizzas I was excited to order a pepperoni, but didn't get that one with my order guess they just forgot..so was I hoping the margarita with grilled chicken I got was really yummy and would make up for the missing pepperoni pizza and wow what disappointment ..what came was a regular cheese pizza with some tiny diced chicken.. no "Roma tomato" no "fresh cut basil" no " fresh mozzarella" VERY DISAPPOINTED maybe it was just a bad day for them as really my whole order was screwed up ...I even got the baklava and that was the smallest saddest baklava I have seen... hoping it was a bad day I may try again but it will be a long time and that's sad because I live 1/2 mile away and was wanting a go to place near my house... read more

I really enjoyed this place! My sister got the Balkan Pizza and I got the Vegetarian, and we both enjoyed what we chose. I love that this place is halal, and they have halal "pepperoni" options. Although, I don't eat meat myself I know it's something that my family enjoyed. Small business located in the same plaza as ALDI and CVS. Due to Co-VID, indoor seating is not available but there are chairs outside to enjoy your meal. This restaurant has a bit of a twist. They serve Bosnian/Italian food. The menu has new items like lamb and the prices have changed a tad. Lunch specials are $10.50 which include a main, salad, and drink. The Cevapi (Bosnian mini beef sausages) is delicious and the sauces are a must. The bread was nice and fresh. We also ordered the spinach Burek and devoured it with the refreshing cucumber sauce. Honestly, you can share the burek with one or two people. Don't be greedy! Our meal was well rounded with a spring mix salad topped with mozzarella. I feel so fortunate to have tried this restaurant thanks to a fellow Yelper friend, Sandra L, after seeing her review and pictures of this restaurant! Having never tried Bosnian cuisine before, I knew I had to try the exact same dishes! Their online prices are a little higher so I phoned in my order. I wanted to try the Bosnian Coffee but they said that is normally dine in only (after looking at the pictures, I understand why). My food was ready when I picked up and the workers were wearing face masks. Overall, a great pickup experience! They do have a few outside tables and a few patrons were eating there. The good: 1. Cevapi Grilled Meat - Honestly, I thought it looked like a sausage but it tastes nothing like a sausage! I tried a piece of the meat by itself and it had amazing flavors on it's own. I can't really pinpoint what flavoring/spices are being used but it tasted complex and very savory. I had to look this up and cevap is derived from the Turkish kebab and cevapi is the plural form. Hence, the small comes with 5 cevapi and fills up half the bun. 2. Cevapi Bun - To me, this was a cross between a hamburger bun and an English muffin. The texture and shape were similar but the bun was very unique. The bun itself was seasoned nicely, tasty, and was pretty big. 3. Cevapi - I did not know this is considered a national dish of Bosnia! The combination of the grilled meat, bun, raw onions, Kaymak, Ajvar, was heavenly. The Kaymak at first tasted like a Ricotta or something very familiar, and the Ajvar tasted a little like a marina sauce but I was completely wrong (bell peppers and oil). When you combine all of these ingredients into one bite, the flavors work, and you will understand why everyone is raving about this! 4. Sofra Urbana Pizza - You know when you try something with anything Truffle, you pause and think to yourself, "wait, did I just taste truffle?" I asked that very same question when I took a bite of this pizza! Following the undoubtedly taste of truffle, the mozzarella hits, then the Suho Meso (smoked beef), and then finally the Arugula. At first I thought the Suho Meso was a little salty but it went well with the rest of the pizza. The pizza dough was perfectly baked and was really good. As others have mentioned, this is definitely a step (or two) above your normal pizza! 5. Spinach Burek - I haven't seen or tried anything quite like this. Beautifully baked and presented, this was a very delicious dish! The outside was crispy and the inside, soft, doughy, and filled with spinach. As you take pieces of the Burek, the shape of the Burek make sense! The accompanying cucumber sauce paired very well with the Burek and gave it a nice contrast. I saw that Bell Peppers stuffed with meat is another of their specialty and want to try that out next time. Will be back! read more

How have I not tried this place sooner? Cevapi (grilled meat with seasonings from Southeast Europe) is so good from here! Thanks to a fellow Yelp friend, I stopped by to pickup an order to go. I am such a huge fan of Sofra Urbana! Phone order was easy and the person who took my order over the phone and the owner and his team when I got here are so nice and accommodating! Here's what I ordered today: 1. Small Cevapi $7.99. I have never had Cevapi before and wow, the smell and taste of the sausage is so so good! The sausage and bread that it comes in has a really nice smokey flavor to it and the complexity of the spices in the sausage is so good on its own or paired with the red and white sauces that it comes with. The red sauce tastes like a tomato-base pepper flavor while the white sauce tastes like a blend of cheese. If you only order or try one thing from here, get this! The small Cevapi comes with five pieces of sausage. 2. Spinach Burek $8.99. The phyllo dough was flaky and crispy on the outside and the spinach and cheese inside is just so comforting! It pairs very well with the cucumber yogurt type sauce it comes with. I would get this again and highly suggest you try this too! 3. Sofra Urbana pizza mini size $9.99. This comes in four slices that is a bit tinier than a traditional pizza slice, but I generous enough for me to cut each slice in half giving me eight slices. I do that because I have to eat less to eat more variety :). There are generous amounts of toppings and the Meso (smoked beef) on this pizza is the highlight of the pizza in my opinion! It is soft, flavorful, and not too salty like you would find with Italian prosciutto meat. It's like a cured beef with flavor and it is tender. As you can see in the photo, even in a mini version of this pizza, there are enough slices of Meso to go around where every slice will get to enjoy this and all other toppings. I don't like it when I order mini pizza's from other establishments and they do not distribute or give enough toppings so someone has to be shafted - but Sofra Urbana does their mini pizza's right! All in all, prices for the quality and amount of food you get is good in my books and I highly recommend you coming here if you've never tried this type of food and if you have tried this type of food, give Sofra Urbana some love because I know I will! read more

Let me tell you this food was 1000000/10. We were in LA for a birthday trip and exhausted from our day of travel/activities. We showed up about 30-45 minutes before closing and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. It was such a nice home feeling atmosphere! We ordered quite a bit of food and our hotel was 30 minutes away, by the time we got back to the hotel the food was still piping hot and crispy. It's some of the best Bosnian food we've had outside of Bosnia itself. We ended up buying 4 shirts/a crew neck and coming back the next night for dinner. So, I've been coming here for almost a year now so I figured I might as well write a review about the place. I first came in early August of 2019 because I've heard a lot of the place from Yelp. Initially, I started trying out all of their pizzas and their wings and these were always pretty tasty, especially the bbq chicken pizza. Mmm! One day I felt like trying something new and got the chevapi sandwich from recommendation by the workers and from Yelp, and let me tell you, this sandwich blew my mind with how flavorful it was. The sauces, which were a pepper and I believe ricotta cheese sauce along with the meat and the bread was heavenly, and so I got this sandwich every consecutive time I came back until yesterday. I once again decided to try something new, the spinach burek, (pictured below) and again, it was amazingly flaky, buttery, and delicious. I always enjoy coming in and the staff is always so generous. Overall: Sofra Urbana is a hidden gem in a quiet plaza. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the restaurant is so cozy. I HIGHLY recommend it. Food: 5 Sofra Urbana Pizza: The crust is PERFECT. It's not too thin or too thick, and it has a soft crunchiness even after it's cooled down. The crust at many other places will become hard if you leave it out for too long. They put the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and they use a good bresaola. My only complaint is that it is supposed to come with truffle oil, but I didn't detect any. Usually, most restaurants err because they use too much when a little goes a long way with a strong truffle oil, but I think this pizza could have used a little more. The medium (8 slices) is perfect for two people. Chevapi: The small comes with 5 perfectly grilled sausages and chopped raw onions between a toasty flatbread bun. There is also a side of kajmak and avjar. Kajmak is similar to cheese, and avjar is a blend of eggplant and peppers, if I remember correctly. The sauces add a nice tanginess, freshness, and heat to the otherwise heavy sandwich. I'd definitely recommend this for the meat lover of the family, and it is VERY filling. Just Burger includes 1/3 lb patty, lettuce, onions, pickles, cheese, and a smattering of kajmak and avjar. Instead of a traditional burger bun, they use the same toasted flatbread as the chevapi. If you usually don't feel satisfied by a normal fast food chain's burger, this will definitely fill you up. Spinach Burek: They let you know that you will have to wait ~20 mins for this, but it's worth the wait. The phyllo dough is crisp and flakey, and the spinach and cheese filling is so comforting. We couldn't finish it, so we brought it home and reheated it in the oven the following day and it tasted just as good. Service: 4 This is a casual dining restaurant where you order at the counter, and they bring out your food when it's done. The staff is very nice, and they're patient with any questions that you have. Ambiance: 5 It's an inconspicuous little shop in the fairly vacant plaza containing Aldi and a smattering of other small shops. Parking is easy to find as a result. It is a fairly small shop with only a couple of tables inside and several tables outside. If it were crowded, I can imagine that it would feel quite cramped as the tables are placed fairly close together. As it was, it wasn't too busy when I came today, and I felt comfortable while enjoying my food. It seems like a place where I would bring friends to catch up over some food and drinks. read more

I found this place browsing through Yelp; it was local Mediterranean and had great reviews. I was drawn here because I didn't recognize the names or food in the photos. I needed to try something new! I followed the recommendations from other Yelpers... I ordered a Cevapi, Burek and mango habanero chicken wings. CEVAPI: the meat was fresh and well cooked, the bread was soft yet had the oven crisp taste as well; the two sauces provided were imperative to bring the whole sandwich together (one red sauce and the other may have just been a cheese spread, delicious!) BUREK: WOW!! I ordered a Sirnica (cheese burek) as well as a traditional meat burek. The cheese was my favorite; the cheese was soft inside, perfectly baked, soft and crispy filo dough with the tzatziki was so yummy; I'd come back just for this. This amazing restaurant I found on Yelp is a true gem and best reflection of traditional Bosnian cuisine. We flew into Long Beach from San Francisco and stumbled on this rare find. We had chevapi which by the way were the best ones since the ones we had in Bosnia. Their spinach pita (pie), sopska salata, yogurt and many other delicious items are just a few great menu items I recommend you try, which are made from scratch.
