Prices are a little on the high end, but not as compared to Korean food generally in Austin and in a fair way IMO given the extended operating hours. Went here with 3 other friends on a Friday night past 10pm and we were able to get a table quick. Unfortunately, you can't reserve a table beforehand, but we were lucky. Place is a bit crammed but there is outdoor seating. Service was fine as it was pretty busy. It got better when there was less people. We ordered 5 things which was a lot; we couldn't finish them all but some of the dishes were bland. We got the Chadolbake Dukboke (which was the best), kimchi rice (no flavor even with the egg), seafood pancake (didn't taste much seafood), rice cake (good to put in the spicy sauce), and Bulgogi (very flavorful and plentiful). Small divey Korean comfort food spot with great vibes! SOHA is a fun place to meet up with friends for casual drinks and bites, however, with all the other Korean options in the area, they fall a little short. The quality of the dishes is not up to par with other restaurants that fall into the same bracket, and food takes a long time to come out. The seafood pancake here hardly has any seafood in it, and the grilled pork belly was a bit disappointing as well for the price. Personally, my favorite here is the Korean Fried Chicken, it's perfectly crispy and they give just the right amount. If you come here for anything, I'd highly recommend this dish! read more

Super authentic hole in the wall spot. VERY busy, which is always a good sign for food quality. The poor waitstaff have so much to do but they maintain friendly demeanors even when it's super crazy. My friend and I ended up trying to go there at their peak weekend rush time because everywhere else was closed and they were SO KIND to fit us in, when they really didn't have the room or the time for more people. That gesture has earned them a supporter for life! When you're hangry these things make a huge difference in your day, or night. Prices are manageable due to the big portion size. Good place for sharing. Corn cheese is a must order, hands down their staple. I love that this place is open until 3am. We usually arrive back late from a trip and this is our go to spot for food. We always order the pork rib soup (size small) and the padak chicken. They do charge for rice which I don't like as it should come free with an entree but still worth it. The place itself is dark and plays loud K-pop and kdramas on the tv. AMAZING and authentic Korean food! Every dish we ordered was really fresh and delicious. Food came out quick. The restaurant is pretty small, probably not the best place for a big party or to bring babies/kids to because of the loud music. Portions were really large and we typically order several dishes and eat family style so everyone gets a little bit of everything. Can't wait to come back. Best late night food spot!! SOHA has been my go-to lately for those 1 AM cravings , I love their tteokbokki ( spicy rice cake) with cheese and fried mandu and their kimchi fried rice! The interior is cute at night with colorful ambient lighting and LEDs so its not harsh on the eyes. The restaurant can get kinda hot, not sure if it's the food or an AC issue but it makes for a very authentic, kind of sweaty experience lol. The service was friendly and ensured we had enough water and napkins at all times, the food does take a while to come out but it's definitely worth it because it's hot and fresh!! They play Kpop and other Korean hits so the vibes are great, would definitely recommend you check this place out for a late night food run! read more

Wanted to grab Korean bar food for the last night in Austin, so we decided to check out SOHA -- one of the few Korean bars and establishments in town. It was tiny and small, but the place was PACKED. We had to wait a good 30 minutes before we sat. The interior felt like it was a deli/wing restaurant before it turned into SOHA, and they did a good job at renovating, but small things like the tables made it really show what it could have been before. We ordered the chadol spicy rice cakes and some Jinros and Terras for the night. The one thing that I immediately noticed was that there was no AC in there or the AC was extremely weak. It wasn't to the point where I felt like I was SCORCHING, but it was definitely hot and I sweated a little bit. I also believe it may be because there were just a lot of people in the restaurant. The chadol spicy rice cakes were solid. It was a little too sweet but bar food usually has stronger flavors just in general so it wasn't big of a deal. There were plenty of rice cakes, udon, and brisket but I am not sure if it was worth nearly $30 for what would have costed $3 in Korea. Overall -- it seems like it's one of the few places that Koreans can have a Korean nightlife experience so I'll give it that, but I've definitely seen better. It's a 4 for Austin, but probably a 3 if I saw it in Dallas or Atlanta. There were also some very drunk rowdy Korean youngins but that doesn't interfere with the ratings so I'll leave it at that. read more

I'm really impressed with how quickly SOHA was able to accommodate our group of 10. We called them 30 minutes on a Saturday before we arrived to see what the wait would be for a party of our size and by the time we arrived a table was already set up. Definitely a place I will try again. Probably the best kimchi pancake I've ever had. Perfect crispness! The pork with kimchi was really good too. Just needed a little more pork. Wasn't too spicy. The rice cakes were yummy. Combo of sliced and "tube" style. Cooked perfectly and very spicy. The chicken gizzards are a rarity, even on Korean menus, so I was excited. Sadly, they were SO TOUGH and barely chewable. Not sure how they are soaked in Korean style cooking - but soaking in milk (a southern thing) can help - especially with gizzards. Just a thought. When the lady serving our table came by and put in our order, we asked her to help get rid of some snack packaging(trash) that we happened to have at that time. However, instead of a quick favor, we were told to go outside to the plaza and find a trash can and get rid of it ourselves. So we did that and decide to only give 10% tip based on the pre-tax amount. We even explained to the lady why we did that, so that they knew what's going on. Few days later when it posts, it becomes $180, which is 20% base on a post tax amount. I have disputed with my bank on this. Keep this in mind before you visit this restaurant. The place started to get more crowded the later it got. We got Soju and beer as well as a few items to share with our group. Soha is a great place for late night drinks in Austin. The vibes are always nice and it reminds me of a couple of pochas that I went to in Korea. I wouldn't say the food is the best that I've tried though. Then again, I did grow up in Koreatown LA, which has a wider selection of Korean food than in Austin. So far, I've tried the gamjatang, soondubu, marinated pork and the spring onion fried chicken.
