Although the food is AMAZING. Their delivery drivers will scream and harass you before handing you the food. And I mean SCREAM. I tolerated it many times due to the language barrier, but it eventually crosses a line when it's just straight up frustration. Got yelled at because I didn't answer my phone (I didn't get a call), got yelled at because I got a call that I needed to pick up my order (they were at the wrong location), got yelled at that they were waiting at the lobby and that I needed to come immediately (they were at the wrong location). I am over it at this point. They would always continue to yell once I met them in person. I will not be ordering again, and if they arrive at the location again (for any OTHER reason because I WILL NOT be ordering again,) they'll be handled by security. I leave yelp reviews if I have a problem with aggressive delivery drivers. Consider this establishment to have TWO of them. read more

In my never-ending quest to try all the food spots anywhere, I tried Soho Sushi in NYC. The restaurant is located a few blocks from New York University in NYC, so it's pretty easy to find. My good friend and I didn't have to wait too long to get seated, which was also great. I got California Roll and Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll. They were all presented beautifully, fresh and full of flavor, and left me full at the end. There is a lot to choose from on the menu, so even if you're not feeling like sushi, there are plenty of other options. Service was very warm and welcoming, and I look forward to returning again soon. read more

This place deserves more love! When I was an undergrad at NYU, I would come here all the time for relatively cheap and delicious sushi rolls ($5-6.50 per roll). Recently visited here for dinner at 8pm on A Thursday night with a group of 8. We didn't make reservations ahead of time. But they accomodated us on the spot, and we were all able to sit together. Got 3 of my favorite rolls (spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and salmon mango) and it all came out to about $20 including tip! My colleagues are huge fans of sushi, and I had already perused the menu before arriving, so we were prepared to order straight away; the waiter wasted no time in graciously taking our orders and serving our food quickly thereafter. At the very low price of $11.25 for the Tri Roll Sushi Combo--which I customized with California, Chicken Tempura, and Peanut Avocado Rolls and a side of miso soup--it was a tremendous value. While my order was a relatively safe choice in selection, the rolls were fresh and--surprisingly--quite filling! The food was satisfying, the staff was pleasant, and--albeit a small venue--I never once felt cramped or uncomfortable at my table. I ordered the lunch special with 2 rolls--a salmon avocado roll and a yellowtail jalapeno roll, and it came with soup or salad so I got the miso soup. Overall my meal was tasty and satisfying. The rolls were a bit on the small side, but the two rolls and the soup filled me up perfectly so I can't really complain. The salmon and yellowtail were tender and tasted very fresh. The yellowtail roll had a teeeny bit more jalapeno that I personally would have liked, but that's really nbd. The soup was good too--a pretty typical Miso soup and not too salty. I first headed to Marumi only to find out that not only did their lunch special end at 3P but they're also closed until dinner, or so informed me the workers that were napping in the booths. Their lunch special ends at 4P and what a great value! Three rolls plus soup or salad for $10! (This might be typical value but I work in midtown and by those standards it's great) The woman at the front was a bit surly, I'm not sure if it was because I had just made it in time for the special or because she's mean by nature. Didn't matter because I was taking it to go and would soon have the opportunity to critique her online, mwahaha. Anyway, on to the important stuff. The sushi is pretty good, not the greatest but good, especially for the money. I ordered basic rolls (eel, tuna, salmon) and all were fresh. The best part about them was the fish to rice ratio. This place is the McDonald's of sushi...the salmon was frozen and still defrosting. Spend a little more and go to literally ANYWHERE else.
