Went to new world mall for the soup dumplings, also tried a hot chicken spot (Chick Rocks)…read more The sandwich will definitely keep you full, it can get a little too much though with the fried taste. Made my stomach feel not so clean after but it was good! The soup dumplings were okay, I don't think it's the best or worst I've had. The food court has no reception and can get very packed, especially since this place gets talked about a lot. The food court also has cool vending machines with blind boxes that are sometimes hard to find which is nice. If you live here it's pretty convenient place to stop by.

Best food court in NYC !!!…read more I have probably ate at 1,000 different stalls inside the New World Mall food court over the years, so let me be its 1,000th review. Seems fitting. Considering I just did another mini food tour with my friends today, this place has been my go to for a quick bite in Flushing since its inception. Not a whole lot of the stalls have lasted over the years, but a handful remain, while the new entrants keeps the food court interesting. Below is the current list of vendors as of May 2025. I also added my favorite item from some of my usual spots. #2 Chongqing Zaier (Yunnan) #3 Ke Lai Qin (Hunan) - chili fish head #4 Joe's Steam Rice Roll (Cantonese) - shrimp roll #5 Tarim Uyghur Cuisine (Uyghur) - lamb skewer #6 A Zhong (Taiwanese) - thread noodle soup #7 Kung Fu Tea (Boba Shop) #8 Grilled Squid (Korean, Chinese) #9 Xiao Luo Luo (Guanxie) #10 Xiang Ba Ye (Hunan) #11 Piaoxiang Yuan (Dongbei) - potato noodles #12 Tiger Sugar (Boba Shop) - black sugar milk tea #13 Gong Cha (Boba Shop) #14 Lanzhou Handmade Noodle (Lanzhou) #16 Laoma Ma La Tang (Szechuan) - mixed dry pot #18 Eight Beautitudes (Korean) #19 Chong Qung Xiao Mian (Szechuan) - spicy noodle #20 Yozi Duck Vermicelli Soup (Shanghai) - duck soup #21 Nai Brother (Szechuan) - sauerkraut fish #22 Mr. Pang (Taiwanese) #23 Ramen & Udon (Japanese) #24 Tian Fu (Szechuan) #25 Chick Rocks (Chicken Shop) #26 Mojoilla Fresh (Taiwan) - egg waffle #27 Royal Queen (Cantonese) - roast meats #28 Xi'an Cuisines (Xian) - lamb burger #29 Liu Liu Sheng Jian (Shanghai) - soup dumplings #30 C/K Dumplings & Noodles (Dongbei) - dumplings #31a O'Sun Teriyaki (Japanese) #31b Wang's Beef Offal House (Cantonese) - beef I do wish this place was cleaner, smells better and have free wifi service. However, I'm here for the great food options and can overlook quite a bit. Therefore, though there are shortcomings, I block it all out and just enjoy what they do offer, which is large variety of delicious cuisines from around China/Asia.

I think I grieved more for Urban Hawker closing than when my dad died…read more Urban Hawker wasn't successful in the way you'd expect any food hall to be successful-- their food wasn't spectacular. I rarely went home invoking a strong enthusiastic response to come back to eat something again. Their strong suite was location, space, and variety. What I loved most--besides having a reliable bathroom in Midtown--was what it became for the people around it. It was a place where office workers could decompress after work, grab a beer with coworkers, or catch up with friends they hadn't seen in a while. There was something refreshing about the atmosphere. People seemed relaxed and unguarded, shedding the polished professional persona they'd worn all day. It felt like watching the city exhale for a little while. And another thing I appreciated was their attempt to represent different nationalities under one roof. The more common items performed the worse and that's probably when you come to a space dedicated to hawker style cuisine, you expect to try some of their more novel stuff like Coffee Pork Fried Rice (from a stall that specialized in fried rice) or Noodles in Bechamel. I also frequently enjoyed their only drinks provider for the best Yuen Yang I've ever had. The method for making them seems theatrical at first but when you've had one that wasn't properly aerated, you truly taste the chalky bitter tannins. It was a good thing there was an experience worker there (possibly the owner). Who you got to make your drink was hit or miss because at varying times, my gf would be lucky enough to run into the one guy who could do it with oatmilk (she's lactose intolerant). It's sad to see this place go and there'll be many times ahead of us where we point out that that's where the Urban Hawker used to be.

I liked peeling the layers (though some didn't peel perfectly). It is mildly sweet and reminds of Filipino Biko - Stingray Fried Rice, (3.75/5): this was my first time having stingray and it's actually sooo tasty. the meat reminds of a sweet crab and flaky fish. though I was a fan of the stingray, the fried rice was just ok. Considering this came from a stall specializing in fried rice I subtracted some points - Ayam Gulai, (4.25/5): I didn't know quite what I was ordering, but I'm so glad I did! This stall makes their own chili sambal and it's sooo shrimpy, punchy and complex. It added a lot to the dish, with the curry chicken + slight hint of coconut flavors and the meaty paste on top of the rice. everything works pretty well together here - just the egg was a bit overcooked and the chicken was also just slight overdone. I would go to this stall again! Nice find- I like it a lot!

We ordered some cocktails-watermelon margharira, Aperol spritz and draft beer. The bartender was so sweet. She even gave us a whole pitcher for the price of a glass since someone ordered it by accident and cancelled. Score for us! The watermelon cocktail was so pretty. Very happening the evening since World Cup is going on. We were lucky enough to grab seats outside. The area is perfect for pics too. So pretty.

This has always been one of my preferred locations, both personally and professionally, which makes this experience especially disappointing. On this occasion, I was visiting as part of my work responsibilities. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.
