We came to this restaurant because other hot pot restaurants were so busy and they opened late. It was awesome to walk into the restaurant without a wait but after placing our order, it took more than an hour for our food. We asked several times about our order thinking they forgotten us. The waitresses were apologetic and super sweet but to wait an hour for hot pot was unheard of. After an hour wait, we anticipated the food must be good. Wishful thinking. It tasted like my cooking and I'm not a good cook. The broth was bland like they just threw veggies and the beef into hot water. My beef pot tasted identical to my friend's veggie pot. The sauce (Ponzu and chili oil) provided to us did not help with the taste. But on the bright side, they have excellent service. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday night, probably cuz of the day we came, but also because there's not a lot of foot traffic in this plaza. The inside is super clean and has a chill atmosphere. Each table is separated with tatami mat-like dividers so it feels like you and your party have a more private space, which is a plus to me. I got the Sichuan Base and my husband got the Kimchi Base. We also got the spicy chili wontons (handmade btw). They let you customize what ingredients (veggies, tofu, fish cakes/balls etc.) to get and they have a pretty good selection too. You only get two sauces so choose wisely! The soup bases were okay but meat quality was really good. Ingredients are standard but still fresh. Finally, the lamb and mushroom was light and I could tell they use fresh ingredients. Their portions filled me up as I could barely walk after. The food is pretty tasty and good quality. I would stick with the hot pot and not order the side dishes. Got the fried chicken ($7.99). It was yummy, but there were only 5 nugget-sized chunks. That means each not-very-big piece costs more than $1.50. Not worth it. Also got the 12-ingredients hot pot ($17.99). It was also yummy with lots of ingredients. They give a lot of stuff, but don't expect a lot of meat though, unless you pay for extra meat. Sadly, they forgot to include my Tempura Fish Cake among my ingredients, and I did not think about it till I had already left the restaurant as I still had a lot of food with my 11-ingredients hot pot. However, I am going to deduct a star since the restaurant should be responsible for giving you the full order of what you paid for. So, my advice to diners here is to count all of your ingredients before you start eating or you might not get everything that you paid for. read more

But this last time we visited they have now started charging for all the broth flavors. Before it was the basic dashi flavor that you get at no added charge and if you wanted a different flavor you pay more which I understand. But now you're charged extra for all of the broths on top of the $13.99. It's just disappointing seeing as this is hot pot and the broth is a necessity so you have no choice but to pay the extra $2.99-$4.99. If you don't mind that then I would give this place a try. We went late at night and there was only one other couple on the restaurant.
