Ate there tonight 10/4/22 with my granddaughter at about 5:15. They have my receipt. First the good: her carne asada burro was excellent, and my verde tostada was excellent. Now for the bad: a runt-sized bean burrito that was also prepared badly. they use a gummy flour tortilla made to quickly cook (toast) on the grill. My granddaughter's carne asada burro was lightly toasted on the grill, but not this runt bean burro. it was a huge gummy tortilla, with very little beans on it, and the beans themselves were thick, pasty, and tasteless. i had cut just a small section off the end of the bean burro, but that small piece made it look like I'd eaten half the burro. They could have and should have apologized and made good on it right away. i didn't want it replaced with another bean burro because the beans were so awful. So I said to give me a green burro and I'd pay the difference in price. What they brought out was another gummy burro, this time a truly miniature green burro, mini-chimi sized. It was so insulting and then their employee argued with me about it, insinuating I had eaten half of the other burro. I gave them the opportunity to correct the situation or receive a bad review that would make their teeth chatter. They opted for the bad review. They also kept my receipt. Ok. I've been enjoying Someburros for years and years. I first walked in and there was a line with only 1 cashier on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered my food and the cashier was having her own separate conversation with the manager about nothing having to do with my order. She forgot my hot sauce and I said excuse don't I get hot sauce oh yeah with an attitude. And then this is the enchiladas that I ordered! Disgusting! I couldn't even chew it. I choked twice because the cheese is so thick and it doesn't melt! So I assume that this is cheap cheese!!!! It was like chewing gum! I would love for the managers/Owners to try this and see if it's too much for them. And then to top it off the chips were stale. This is our go to location! My family and I are always satisfied with our service, quality of food, and value of our meal. My husband always enjoys a pollo fundido and my son and I get shredded beef or chicken taco plates. Make sure to grab a seat in the patio so you can watch the peach faced love birds. Beans were okay, rice pretty good. Taquitos, taco, tamale all good. Counter girl quite pleasant. I always enjoy visiting when this is our selected lunch outing! It really is a great, family run establishment with an outstanding menu & selection! The inside is always cleanly & welcoming. Easy to navigate & spacious. I just wish the menu board wasn't awkwardly placed on the BACK wall of the register area. If you are towards the window in the line to order, you cannot see but only half of the menu. Which is why it takes a bit longer to order when it's busy- most don't know what they want because they can't see the menu well until you actually get up to the register, if you want to keep a place in line! I would suggest they replace the food photos on the wall there with a smaller menu for those standing in line. My co-worker turned me on to the pollo fundido- it does NOT disappoint! In fact, I rarely order anything else now. Plentiful portions. Cooked to perfection, with a generous side of rice, lettuce, tomato, etc. and the prices are fitting for the dishes offered. With a drink added in, its only about $10 or less for a full lunch! Plus, the complimentary chips & salsa really hits the spot while waiting for your entree! And I have to give them credit for a GREAT salsa! I generally cannot taste "spicy"... but it has a good kick! Not overwhelming but great flavor & a bit of spice/heat. While I call it "mild" for my taste buds- it probably registers as a "medium" for normal folk. Lol. The drink station is also fully loaded with everything you need. Gotta appreciate the plastic to-go containers to take some salsa with you for the leftover chips! Can't say we aren't sitting here having a desk snack a few hours later... Decent food but sometimes the enchiladas are just not cooked right! This time was no exception...my friend and I both had the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The shredded cheese was not melted and the corn tortilla was hard. BUT I WILL SAY, when they are made right, their enchiladas are pretty good. The red and green sauce is really good. It's just hit or miss with their enchiladas. I have had the bean tostadas - good. Mini chimis with beans - good but mostly deep fried tortilla with very very little beans. Service is usually okay but with COVID, we have opted to order online and take to go so can't really rate the service - order online and drive through for pick up is super convenient. Normally they give chips and salsa if you eat in- they are homemade and addicting! I must be on a Mexican food kick because two days in a row, I had Mexican food for lunch. I arrived a bit before noon and there were a few patrons in the dining room and a couple of ahead of me in line to order. I ordered the mini chimi platter (the #4). It comes with rice and beans and a tiny salad/garnish, and a small drink. The total was about $13, which is on the pricey side in my opinion for this type of food. Of course, you get chips and salsa included. I am a total fan of Some Burros. I love their food and especially their chips. I think I even crave them. My food came out pretty quickly and I attached the chimis first. So good! There was sour cream and guac included which really adds to the flavor. I also love their rice and beans, but could not finish my meal --- believe me I tried! When I left, at about 12:30, there was a line and the dining room was filling up. I'm sure it was the work crowd so be prepared to wait a bit in line if you're eating in. They also have a drive through and I noticed a sign upon entry saying they now have an app. I might try that next time and order ahead. read more

Not your common cultural Mexican food at all... rice had ok taste they tried to make it spicy but no flavor and I think it had an olive in there too for some weird reason. Service was great my tamales were replaced for "regular ones" so I give the staff all the credit for my 4stars.. Then we ordered 2 other things that they made completely wrong and we ordered additional salsa and when we got home there was no salsa at all in the bags. It's a 10 minute drive and it was late at night so we called and complained and the lady on the phone literally acted like we were lying and she could have cared less about our experience. Given that it was a funraiser night lots of people came out so I understood their being a little bit more of a wait. The wait in the ordering line was probably the hardest only because theirs so many options and everyone likes their tacos burritos with and without certain things so it took a lot longer. Food on the other hand came out pretty quick, but don't expect to get blown away by a presentation unless you really love the blue green and yellow plates. Overall the food was good but living in Arizona we all know so many different Mexican spots so we have other options. Love this place! So clean and you get the food relatively quickly. We have come on Taco Tuesday and you can get tacos dorados for $2. They are quiet filling too. Also, make sure you sign up for their club because they have specials that they offer on random days. For example, the wife and I got their pollo fundido offer that they were having for their restaurant's birthday for only $6. It was as good as any of the sit down restaurant's we have been too. I love my Someburros! I have been coming here since they opened the Mill Ave., location! A few weeks back I placed a small order close to closing time. The person on the phone advised to try and come quickly as the store would be closing at 9:00 pm. I arrived a few minutes after 9 and it looked like things were closed up to my dismay. I called their number and the store manager Cesar Marquez answered advising the restaurant was now closed and they weren't sure I was able to make it after all. I then apologized and said I got there as quick as I could. Cesar then opened up the kitchen again and made my order fresh and free of charge for my efforts. We love the food and order every week but it's exhausting to have to always check our order because 9/10 it's wrong. My son likes the ground beef taco with no potato and we order online and it says no potato. We always get potato at this location. So after I do drive through pickup, I have to park and go inside and wait again while our other food gets cold. Today, I drove home and forgot to check and there's potato in it. Also, forgot my taco I ordered for myself. We love the food but it gets exhausting to always check and walk in to fix. Plus I hate seeing the food they waste by always making incorrect orders.
