I ordered the $39.99 family meal, which is advertised as feeding 3-4 people, perfect for my family. However, the experience didn't match what's listed on the menu. When selecting my four toppings, I chose cheese, cabbage, pico de gallo, and cilantro with onions (as shown together on the menu). I was told cilantro and onions count as separate sides, which contradicts how it's presented on their menu. It got more frustrating when I moved on to sauces. I was told the meal only includes the meat plus four total selections across both toppings and sauces..again not what the menu states. So I had to pay extra for basics like sour cream and guacamole. On top of that, they only provide one salsa of each type for a "family" meal, which is pretty stingy. You get more salsa from Filbertos and it's not pulling teeth. When I asked about what they stated and what their menu states, the manager said they've changed their menu but haven't updated it, and there was nothing they could do. That's not unacceptable, customers shouldn't be charged differently from what's advertised. This place used to be great, but now it feels like a rip-off. My wife had seen this place several times when in the area and kept saying we have to try it. We did! What a pleasant surprise and now that we know they are here (and have been for a few years per the employee who talked with us), we'll be coming in for take-out a bit more often! They have a big patio with tables to sit at and it appears that drive-through take out is the thing with this place. They are literally next to the car wash so there was a lot of cars moving around. Looked at other Yelp reviews while exploring their menu and wife decided on the three street tacos...all on corn tortillas. She had steak, chicken and barbacoa. All of the meats were good, tender, and flavorful and I have to say the steak was my favorite and she loved the barbacoa. The chicken was good but we thought the two beef options had better flavor. She also had rice and beans with her order. The beans were ok in both of our opinions and the rice was the same...a bit dry for our liking. I ordered the steak quesadilla supreme and because it only comes with one choice of avocado sauce or sour cream, I paid 50 cents to get the second sauce. Friendly staff and they made our food fresh. Lots of positives, but the food was pretty bland. I thought there would be a more smokey flavor since their name is Mesquite Fresh. But it was pretty basic. Their tomatillo salsa was pretty hot. The guacamole sauce was okay. For prices comparable to other "build your own" places, they don't offer anything unique. He said he was going to give me a couple of different salsas and guacamole, since I was a new customer. Once I paid for my food I looked for the first available place to park, so I could try it. The wife and I finally remember to come check out this spot. I was getting gas at Frys one day and wondered what the huge line and crowd was at this restaurant. I asked and someone told me what it was and it was the grand opening. They also said it was pretty good and popular. I got home and told my wife and put it on our list of places to eat at. Let me tell you, the only bad thing I can say is that we waited FAR TOO LONG to come eat here. This place is awesome. Food was very flavorful and tasty.
