What more can a city guy ask for? This place dishes out real-deal country home cooking--no frills, just flavor and heart. I ordered The Basics for $13.50: two eggs any style, potatoes, toast, and your choice of meat--bacon, sausage links, grilled ham steak, or a sausage patty. I went with the sausage links, and wow, they were so good I cleaned the plate without even trying. The vibe here is cozy and down-home, like Sunday dinner at grandma's. And the staff? Friendly, quick, and make you feel like you've been part of the family forever. Is out to breakfast when we are in Somers/Bigfork area.

This was the best hole in the wall find!! The service was amazing! The waitress was SO sweet and attentive. The food was great ( i highly recommend the bucket of donuts!! They came hot and they were delicious!!) and the atmosphere was truly something out of a hallmark movie lol if you got right at breakfast time, prepare to wait a little bit. It's a tiny place! But well worth the wait.

Somers Bay Cafe is still a classic small-town diner that serves hearty country breakfast. It is really the only game in town for this kind of thing. That means it gets busy pretty quickly and, you might wait an hour or more to be served and actually get your food, especially during prime time. So if you have somewhere to be, get there early! In fact, it doesn't really seem like they are staffed to handle the amount of business they get, which is super unfortunate. If you don't constantly remind them you might be forgotten. That said, the food is still classic and very tasty, no matter what you choose. The house bread, if they have it available, is a must with any order! We also enjoyed the chicken fried steak, and a few different scrambles. The ambiance is country, through and through. You won't find a better place for that. A good motto for this place would be, good things come to those who wait, eventually. Four stars, rounded up from 3.6!

This cute little cafe was exactly what we needed this morning. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress, who told us to sit anywhere. She kindly gave us the breakfast and lunch menus as we weren't sure what we wanted. She was patient with us, made sure our coffee was full, and was super friendly. The food was delicious. Everything made from scratch. The house bread is to die for - we ended up buying a loaf to go! We had an excellent time here and recommend stopping by for breakfast.

This place is off the main road just a little. But if you do not know where it is you will miss it. I'm so glad my mom and I could go here. I came for the pancakes but when I left I left because I needed to have the donuts. The donuts are amazing. Made to order! Perfect little morsels of love! Do yourself a favor and please just order them. Hell order two. The food overall was so good and our waitress was amazing! The coffee is good! I will go back here!

Small little family owned place with a lot of history. The food was tasty and the service was good. They have limited hours of operation so call in before heading over. My wife ordered the taco salad with pork which my wife loved. I had a reuben sandwich with fries. Both were good. The only complaint I have was the bottom piece of bread was soggy, which kinda ruined it for me. Don't get me wrong the corned beef was piled high and very tasty. Yes, this is an adorable country cafe. You'd miss it if you didn't know it was there. Thanks to Yelp For helping me discover it. We stopped in for lunch. They source their food from local sources. My husband had a wrap that was stuffed and looked mouthwatering. I had the Turkey cranberry avocado on house special wheat bread. Yummy! The Onion rings were also very good. They tasted like they were beer battered like my grandma's famous recipe. read more

Dennis & his sister make eating at their Cafe more fun and better tasting than eating at home. The food is really great. Try the homemade Bread, their Hash or anything that includes their Bacon. Service is fast and the prices are surprisingly low. I'm Only disappointed that they're not open fir dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

So I saw no Mexican food on the menu... let's get that out of the way. Came here for lunch and this cafe gave me the Reuben (sandwich) of my dreams! Perfect mix of dressing, meat, and sauerkraut on rye bread!! So good!!! Everyone else had the burgers and fries. They have great seasoned wedge fries. NorThwest Side Flathead Lake hidden treasure! Small quiet cafe with a relaxing feel. I enjoyed the lil Smokey scrambler and we enjoyed the house bread French Toast with sausage patty. Vanilla cream was a great touch with my coffee but almost didn't need since there local coffee company had a tremendous flavor. Definitely visit this place! read more

The food here is great basics. Sandwiches, really good fries, and burgers are at the top of the list. It seems they only have one waitress which means things can run a bit slow but it's a small place so they seem to do fine. Will definitely stop again. read more

I have family that live up Hwy 93 between Kalispell and Whitefish. We always stop here for breakfast on the way home, and I was here for breakfast once before taking the boat onto Flathead Lake to go to Wild Horse Island. Love the atmosphere of this place. My customary order is Eggs Benedict for breakfast with an order of French Toast for desert. The "house bread" has sunflower seeds in it and makes excellent French Toast, so that's what I always order. Food is good. So is the coffee. The service is NOT very speedy, so be forewarned. read more

Our group of four travelers had a great breakfast here -- many choices, well-prepared, big servings. The only hitch was that it was busy, which slowed the service, yet the pleasant wait staff kept up with coffee re-fills and sufficient attention. It is just off of Route 93 so tourists might miss it, but the one block turn-off into rustic Somers provides a welcome contrast to the highway traffic. read more

Went for breakfast during busy tourist season and was able to be seated right away. Bacon was glorious!!! Everyone was happy with their meal & the service. Coffee and water was refilled quickly. Stunning photography displayed on the walls as well as pictures of Somers years ago. Very quaint! Look forward to eating here again! read more

Excellent food and great service. All meals are made to order. First come, first served. Homemade soups, fresh made salads and the sauces are the best in the valley. Great prices! Hours are 7 am to 2 pm everyday including most holidays. read more

This is an outstanding place for breakfast and lunch. Not open for dinner. Terrific variety, wonderful house bread, yummy potatoes and a super friendly staff that really hustles. I eat here 2-3 times a month and it is consistently outstanding. Have not had a bad experience and I have been eating here for over ten years. read more

The food is good. The service is indifferent and the kitchen is slow. We were seating for lunch. The waitress took our order after 15 minutes, which was fine, it was packed. Our drinks came 40 minutes after we ordered, and our food arrived 60 minutes after we ordered. At least the food was good. But definitely not worth the wait. The tables around us seemed to be in a similar situation. It was a scene straight out of Faulty Towers. read more

I stopped here for a late breakfast. I'm working in the area from Colorado, so I don't really have a stake in this post, other than a great place like this should have a mention. This is an excellent place to relax and have a nice meal. I can only speak for the breakfast and it was the only time I've been in. The interior was rustic with hardwood floors and very quaint. There was regular traffic but no crowded seating. This cafe was very clean with friendly service. The food was great. Traditional country breakfast with lots of choices including some Mexican breakfast selections. I will stop here again if ever close enough. I highly recommend. read more

The girls were accommodating and our server comped my meal and only charged me for the eggs I ate. But honestly the entire dish and more should've been comped as all our potato sides were inedible and were left. Disappointing.

Even if you were to do a long after, not sure you can burn off this many calories. Chicken fried steak is good - thin and crisp but with a breadcrumb like crust instead of the floured stuff I'm used to getting down south. Sausage gravy is flavorful and a classic pairing but you can also opt for brown gravy instead. The biscuit is moist and a good utensil to soak up the gravy. Eggs and hash browns needed seasoning - there's no salt on it so add it yourself but the griddled crisp on the hash browns were good. Some of my friends got the home fries but noted they weren't that great so stick with the hash. Accessible parking downtown and a good stop to fuel up!

Amazing Breakfast at Sommers Bay Cafe! I had a wonderful breakfast at Sommers Bay Cafe, and everything was absolutely perfect! I ordered the Spanish omelet with their delicious enchilada sauce, and it was packed with flavor--perfectly cooked and full of fresh ingredients. The sauce added just the right amount of spice and richness. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my day. Although we have lived in the area for 11 years, this was the first time we ate here but it certainly won't be the last. We w were there for breakfast and had there gigantic breakfast burrito. Excellent preparation and taste. Service was great also. Photo doesn't do justice to the meal. read more
