This place use to be amazing.... haven't gone in a long time. Went there today , they got my order wrong I called. The lady said I am sorry and hung up on me. I called back to try to speak to someone else. They put me on hold for like 10m. To pay almost 20 dollars on breakfast food and them to have it wrong its a bit crazy especially since it was just me and one more customer. Very very poor customer service. To think I use to refer my clients and friends to this place. They need to bring back the other amazing woman that was there. Lines would be to the back and the did not drop a beat. Okay they definitely are not as good as the sensational spectacular Pastelaria Vitoria just down the road which are the best Pastels I've ever had outside of Brazil. But they are definitely 5-star worthy and extremely cheap and spectacularly friendly and they make extremely good Abacaxi Com Hortela, which is the pineapple mint drink that I love so much. They have all kinds of other good delicious Brazilian goodies and they are cheap and they are authentic and most of all, the woman here is an angel. And she's one of the friendliest people in all of Boston - so there's no way I'm not giving them five stars even though it's only my second best pastel in the city. Note, it's also one of the best in the country because the US has barely any top notch authentic Brasileno Pastels! We stumbled on this place while we were looking for a laundromat. I had no idea this hidden treasure was right here! This is a little Brazilian convenience store with assorted sweet and savory pastries. We tried a few different savory pastries (I wish I could remember the name of everything), but everything was SO delicious! What a treat! Ok, so I drove here from Cambridge during my lunch break to get pan de queso. The bakery it's self is in a very narrow strip mall with parking. They have lots of delicious Brazilian patties and drinks. I ordered the pan de queso and a Brazilian version of a empanada with beef. They food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Worse experience EVER, ordered a cake and some more stuff for my kids party, first my ordered wasn't ready on time as I had to set up to pick up at 2pm, even called and told them that I was on my way 30 minutes before picking up, had to wait until 4pm because the order wasn't ready, once finally the order was ready I took and getting home noticed that the cake was falling apart, the strawberries they used for decoration wasn't even good to eat. I went here a couple of times. The first time, I walked in to buy coffee. I noticed there wasn't any cream to put in my coffee so I asked the lady wearing glasses by the register if they had cream to put in my coffee. She went and grabbed a pint of cream and placed it on the counter and rang it up for $3.99. I said I wasn't looking to buy any but that I wanted a little to put in my coffee like most gas stations, stores have by their coffee. She again repeated herself and said $3.99 in a rude manner. I bought the coffee for over $3 which was the equivalent of an 8oz Cup. The next time I went here, I brought my girlfriend. We wanted to try Brazilian food and asked the same lady wearing glasses behind the counter for the best selling food options. We ended up getting 2 Pastel Beef and Cheeses and 2 Chicken balls. The lady wearing glasses rang us up for these items and I decided to give a tip as the staff behind her were super friendly and outgoing. After about 5 minutes of receiving our food, we got it and I decided to look at everything prior to leaving. I noticed there were no Chicken balls, so we told the lady wearing glasses at the counter. She looked at us and told us she had no idea what we were talking about in a very rude, defensive manner. When my girlfriend clarified that we ordered and paid for the Chicken balls she then stated "oh yea I never charged you." I was confused as to why she didn't tell us as we purchased the items for $18. She then looked at us as if we were stupid and we walked out respectfully. A huge thing for me is integrity. I've met other staff members here at the store and they seem super friendly, outgoing, and honest people. Maybe I came in at this cash register's off day but still, two separate occasions with the same customer service leaves me not wanting to come back. read more

This is a great place to stop by if you want to try something new (or pretend you are visiting a cafe in Brazil where the menus aren't in English). There's ton of awesome pastries, cakes and, of course, pastels (sort of like a deep fried hot pocket). Super friendly staff will be glad to tell you about all the awesome desserts. The coolest thing about this place is how different Brazilian sweets are from anything I've seen elsewhere. There is a tres leches type thing, little cones with caramel filling, flan in a crust, candied papaya pudding...you can't go wrong. Everything is made fresh in-house. Great juices too: acerola, graviola and other exotic superfruits you haven't heard of. Even the orange juice is awesome -- freshly squeezed in front of you by one of those zummo machines. After driving by every morning, I stopped by this unassuming bakery to check out their breakfast options. I've always noticed a consistent flow of patrons coming and going while I sit in traffic so I had to try it. Man was I not disappointed. Teeming with baked unfamiliar baked goods and smells of frying eggs and meat mixed with sweet scents of freshly baked pastries, I knew I was in for a treat. The first person I spoke with did not speak English, but that was not a problem as the woman at the register offered to help me out. After a brief, but thorough explanation of the menu, I tried a ham and egg breakfast sandwich and a few sweet bread and custard braid things. The egg was perfect, runny but not explosive, a feature I appreciated as I ate it while driving. The ham was paper thin and stacked high. It was salty, sweet and lightly fried, so it had a nice tender bite to it. The bread was flaky, light and obviously freshly baked. This sandwich was excellent! The sweet bread was light and had a crisp, shiny glaze that was wonderfully sticky, but not overly so. The coffee was fresh and strong. I think I'll take the advice of the young woman at the register and I will come back to try everything! read more

However I did not feel unwelcome as the young woman behind the counter cheerfully greeted me in English. I ordered a beef and cheese pastel....so good! So my mom, my sister and I went to this cafe wanting Brazilian food, and the moment we got there this cashier gave us the dirtiest look. My sister went to order and she didn't say anything at first, then after a few seconds of silence, she asked what she wanted again, then she rolled her eyes, went in the back and got one. We sat down. She handed our food over the counter and my sister looked inside the bag. She asked for two, so she asked where the other one is. My mom went up and asked if she can get another one. I really didn't like this place, I went there on a Saturday afternoon with my husband to have a nice Brazilian pastel ! Well the pastel was OK, the customer service was terrible.
