Update... came back again for the 2nd time since the 1st time was really a good experience. And this time we've tried more food, and glad that everything is still good as the 1st foods we've tried. I was excited to try this place after seeing it on TikTok. But let me tell you, I was let down. Upon arrival, I was jumped by one of the servers and was told there was a waiting list. I told her I was aware and I already added my name. She then rushed me, while I was trying to view the menu, to wait outside. The restaurant was empty and I was told there was a 30 minute wait, as the chef was backed up. Keep in mind there were only two tables seated. Our order was taken and food came out promptly. We asked for extra cheese and salt and were were ignored. We even reminded them and still nothing. The place was clean, but service needs to improve. This is a one and done for me. I came to try this place because of a tik tok review and I am so glad I did. The customer service was wonderful I asked a few questions and the young lady was patient and courteous and she went to kitchen to ask if they added garlic to one of the Pastas I ordered. Here is what I ordered and I tried them all so that I could review them all. Gamberry rose pasta Creamy steak pasta Carbonara pasta My pasta was the Creamy steak pasta that is served with a sliced strip steak they only cook steak medium well or well done. Mine was well done and it was super tender the pasta was a linguine pasta in a creamy garlic sauce with mushrooms. It was Delicious! The Carbonara pasta was perfection cream,bacon and a soft cooked egg that when you broke the yolk and mixed in just added that much flavor. So good!!!! I left the best for last The Gamberry rose pasta was the Star of all the pastas.....it was a linguine pasta in a creamy and spicy sauce that was to die for it had shrimp and whole head on shrimp topping the pasta with a generous portion of Masago on top when you mixed your pasta the different ingredients came together beautifully you could feel the crunch of the masago through out the pasta I could not stop stealing bites of my daughter's pasta. I wanted to try Somethin because of an Instagram reel I saw, got me curious. We got there when the kitchen was on break which was totally fine, we had to wait an hour so we ordered drinks and a cake first. We ordered a strawberry latte, dirty matcha, and a cafe latte. All of our drinks were good, I tend to avoid getting matcha in the US as it's nothing like what I had in Tokyo but I enjoyed Somethin's dirty matcha. The cake slice was good too, reminds me of sans rival. The service was impeccable, the wait staff was very attentive, courteous, and very pleasant. So we were getting excited as the hour was almost up. We were getting ready to order the Gamberry Rose and/or Tomato Seafood, and Seafood Pilaf. When the waitress took our order, we were later informed that they are out of seafood so anything with seafood is not available. You can imagine my disappointment at this point. I was thinking they should have told us that earlier on. But ok whatever we already waited, so we ended up getting the mentaiko and carbonara instead, plus fries and the burrata salad. Fries - very good, tasty and crunchy, aioli was on point. Bread - this also gets top scores, seasoned well and perfect texture. Burrata salad - unremarkable. I wish they had more to the salad than arugula but whatever. It was underwhelming to me. Mentaiko pasta - I could not taste the mentaiko. I had to rummage through the plate a bit to see if it actually had some bits of it, fortunately it did. Just not enough I suppose. All I could taste was cream, and the ghost of something else that's def not mentaiko. This dish was sadly unremarkable, had no character and was very forgettable. Carbonara - tasted as expected but had way too much cream so we got sick of it in the end. All in all, the pastas disappointingly fell flat. They lacked flavor and there was too much cream. It sucks that the food at the time of my visit didn't live up to the hype. I do hope things get better as this is still a young restaurant and there aren't a lot of restaurants like it. read more

Saw a new place near Stater Bros and decided to try it out for dinner. It's a really neat casual sit down eatery, and staff are so friendly! The watermelon juice is refreshing, and it's real watermelon, not just watermelon flavor!. I was surprised by the size of the yummy Gambas and the perfect Beef Tataki Salad. Our friends asked us to meet them here and it was our first time. It looks more like a cage but the food was restaurant style gourmet! I had the Gamba, kimchi carbonara, and the beef salad. All the food was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent as well. It was kind of warm and the AC was not cooling it down and the server was so nice to give me a hand held fan that I got to keep! I highly recommend this place. I think their kitchen closes around 3-4:30 though. I am definitely coming back to try their other dishes. read more

My 9 year old son almost choked on the tough Chewy steak this restaurant served us. I would give this place a zero stars if I could. I ordered two Steak cream pasta plates ($28.00 per plate). 0ne plate for me and one plate for my 9 year old son. The steak was not edible. Do not eat here. This is your warning. After spending over $80.00 (ridiculous) at this place, I told the server to bag up the bad meat. Maybe My dog can eat it. I doubt it, but it's worth a try. My dog gets two $28.00 steaks tonight and he probably will not eat them either. Not to mention there was no service, so there is no need to tip anyone either. Came by for dinner with my wife. We ordered the Kimchi Spam Fried Rice and Mentaiko Pasta. Both dishes were excellent! My wife says she likes their version of the dish more than Pasta e Pasta and INI Ristorante, which is saying somethin! Pasta was al dente and the sauce was delicious. The fried rice was also delicious. It wasn't too salty or oily at all. The side salad also had a nice sweet-ish dressing which paired well with the spiciness of the rice. Portions were perfect and we were satisfied/full, but didn't feel bloated at the end of the meal. You can tell the chef has a good palette and has attention to detail. The ambiance was great; no annoyingly loud music. Cute decor and even the plates + silverware were nice. The place felt very clean and well maintained. Service was friendly and attentive. Somethin is a great brunch/date spot/hang out spot! Always blown away by their food and portions are big enough to share! Their customer service is great and I always feel welcomed when I come here. Food was good as per usual and we have been back to this place a few times already. We usually order the Bacon Kimchi Pasta and unfortunately today, I found a hair in my food as I was using the baguette to dig into the pasta. I don't think the manager believed us that it wasn't my hair, but my hair is a decent amount longer and it was deep inside our dish. My girlfriend lost her appetite as we were only halfway and we didn't finish our meal. Unfortunately, the situation wasn't resolved in a satisfactory manner and we won't be returning. The bulgogi sandwich was so good! I didn't go in with high expectations since a lot of times, the bulgogi cafes use in sandwiches is mediocre quality and too sweet, but the meat they used here was tender with great flavor. There is also a scrambled egg in the sandwich and it's a huge portion. Filling but not so heavy you feel weighed down after. If you're hungry, it can feed one, but if you aren't, then you can share it. I would definitely recommend this item. After having that, I realized the other menu options are probably also tasty. They are not a coffee shop with some food items. They're a restaurant that has a large drink selection. So the food is not just an afterthought but the main stars of the show. Thought I should add that since the name of this spot can make it seem vague. The service was friendly and the interior was super clean and comfortable. Only downside is that you do have to pay tip if you dine in, so it's not a fast casual place where you pay and can just get your food. I been here four times already because I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our server is always so kind and welcoming whenever we come in. However, today was extremely disappointing. We found hair in the bacon kimchi pasta. The server came over and apologized to us so I asked if we could get another one. The manager came out and said we are almost done with our food but it was only halfway. I asked if we could get another one and he straight up said no. His tone was very aggressive and rude making this a big deal. My boyfriend very confident that wasn't his. The hair was found in the pasta not on top. He said he wanted to protect the business which got me confused why he can't give me another plate because I am still so hungry. He offered me fries or a drink low-key that was really insulting because thats not even gonna get me full. He also didn't try to accommodate even though I was only halfway through my meal. He managed the situation poorly and has lost a costumer. I was left unsatisfied and hungry. I even paid full price and tip the server because she was really sweet to us.
