I was so happy to find out that there's a cute little brunch place in my neighborhood. Somethin' is a Korean fusion breakfast and brunch spot with their take on breakfast/brunch items like avocado toast, French toast and they also offer pastas and egg dishes. I went with my sister and my partner for brunch before leaving for a 13 week travel assignment. On this visit, we ordered three dishes to share. Look at the photos below. The pasta was very rich and delicious in taste and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I wished they would leave the shrimp head on, but peeled the rest because it was very messy to peel it. The avocado shrimp toast was good, but I'm not a fan of avocado toast. I tried some and it was decent, but I'm not a connoisseur of it. The French toast was very tasty. The cream that came with it really did it for me. It was sweet enough without the maple syrup. I would absolutely come back again and try other dishes. read more

We came on a Monday at 7:00 pm. We were seated right away but also told last call to order was 8:00pm so I already felt rushed. We order a pasta, a rice and a salad. We informed the server that the salad barely had any dressing on it so we'd like a little more. She said it was a $1 charge. Salad dressing was brought in a 2 oz cup and was barely half full....for an extra $1.00. They have a simple esthetic so voices and noise bounce off the walls. Not a lot of people but everything echoed so it was loud. Food was good but I don't feel the need to go back. We love this place!! We're local so we just wandered in one day for brunch, it was surprisingly empty with only a couple of tables taken. The service was amazing! The employees here are so kind, attentive but not over bearing. The food was better than I was expecting. We got a breakfast plate, it was pretty pricey but the portions were huge and you can defn share so in reality wasn't that pricey at all. I've tried tomato seafood pasta, gamberry rose pasta, spicy seafood pasta, truffle pasta, and mentaiko pasta so far. All pastas were delicious and tasty! All the time, their service was great. The food was great. We tried the mentaiko pasta which my daughter usually gets at Asian fusion pasta places. It sounded spicy from the description, but was not spicy at all. The steak pasta and carbonara were both very tasty. Also had the burata salad which was great for sharing and the octopus. The octopus was an appetizer portion, but came with 3 giant mounds of very flavorful mashed potatoes. Portion sizes were reasonable and we left satisfied with some leftovers. The one star is really based on the customer service and response we got trying to dine in. Saw and heard great things so we decided to have dinner here. Upon arrival we were immediately were told "you have to wait 30 minutes" and explained we have too many To go orders and dine-in guests. We didn't like the tone. Let me start off by saying this place was sooo inviting! The staff was great and so was the whole mood of the restaurant. It was pretty calm when we walked in but as soon as we got seated party after party came in and the vibe was still so warm and welcoming. The server was so nice and attentive. We gave this place a try after seeing ads on Instagram. The food was amazing... we tried the rose tteokbokki, Gambas pasta, and the carbonara pasta. My husband had an americano and I tried the Injeolmi Latte. Everything was delicious! The ambiance is nice and clean but it gave off more of a coffee shop vibe so we were surprised with how good the food was. Everything was good, but I took one star off because we went on a weekend and they were really short staffed. We were told that the kitchen was so backed up with to-go orders that they wouldn't be able to get us any food and we were asked to come back in 30 minutes. Luckily, it was a slow evening for us so we took a walk nearby, but it was a bit unprofessional. I'm hoping they'll improve the kitchen staff to keep up with weekend crowds. The food at this place does not disappoint. I came here with a friend after seeing the extremely appetizing photos and shared the mentaiko pasta and the rose ddukboki together. they were both super creamy, flavorful, and delicious! the rose ddukboki is a bit more creamy and less spicy than i expected, but delicious nonetheless. the only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because this restaurant feels a lot more like a coffee cafe rather than a restaurant serving full meals. The setup and where I was sitting felt a bit awkward because some people come here to quietly study w/ a coffee, while others come to eat w friends. however, the food is amazing and i will definitely be back! read more
