My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch today, and we're so glad we did! This place is a hidden gem. We started off by ordering drinks; I ordered the Dirty Matcha (coffee + matcha), and my husband tried the Somethin' Cream Latte. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious. Next we ordered our food; I ordered the Gamberry Rose Pasta while my husband chose the Bacon Kimchi Pasta. The pasta comes with a piece of baguette on the side. Both dishes were very unique, tasty, and full of flavor. We've never tried Korean fusion pasta before, and we were blown away by how amazing these combinations were. The ingredients they added work so well together and added so many new flavors. They are also very generous with their portions, which is an added bonus. The restaurant interior was clean, spacious, and had nice modern decor. We enjoyed the ambiance while dining. It wasn't too loud, and they had music playing in the background at a comfortable listening level. The staff were very friendly, polite, and had our food served to us quickly. We had a great experience and we're definitely planning on coming back soon!

Went here on a Saturday for brunch and it wasn't that packed yet. We ordered our usual - truffle mushroom pasta and mussel stew. We also tried the burrata salad for the first time. The truffle mushroom pasta wasn't as good as it used to be. It still has the same creaminess but the truffle flavor is lacking. The pasta was a bit overcooked too. For the burrata salad I wish they put at least 2 burratas for a better proportion. There were a lot of grape tomatoes and arugula for only one burrata. On a brighter note, the mussel stew was good - my son devoured it lol. The place itself is nice and spacious. It's a cute spot to eat and catch up with friends.

Carbonara, Tteokbokki, Mentaiko Cream Pasta

A cute spot with good food! I personally ordered the carbonara, which I found to be very flavorful. It was very creamy, somewhat sweet, and had bits of meat in it. I would recommend trying other pastas if you want something more savory! It took a bit for them to get our orders and to receive our food as all tables were filled, and they only had one person working the floor for most of the hour before the restaurant closed. Overall, they have an extensive menu and a simple, cute aesthetic. I love the idea of fusion foods, so I'm glad I got to try Somethin!

A modest cafe with okay food. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Shrimp pasta was great and was the only plate we finished. Prosciutto brie toast had too much jam which made it cloyingly sweet for us, personally. The truffle fries were confusing. Truffle was not present -- La Croix is more flavorful than these fries. Many of the fries had an inconsistent fry on them, with one side being considerable more cooked than the other. The shrimp toast sando was unbalanced. Way too much salad, and too finely chopped made it structurally difficult to eat. The shrimp flavor was anemic to begin with, and was further overpowered by the overly sweet yuzu sauce on the bread, which also made it soggy. The side tomato salad was great, and we wished this also accompanied the prosciutto toast. I ordered cream latte at the tail end, and I am glad I did -- the coffee is the one thing I would come back for.

Simple looking cafe but food was delicious!! The pasta and prosciutto toast was 10/10. Waitress was extremely patient and friendly. I requested espresso over ice with a splash a milk and she totally understood the assignment. The vibes are cute. Nothing too special. I want to come back to try more pastas for sure.

The food was so good! The chicken was definitely spicy and the salad was a surprise hit. The pasta was also creamy and delicious but was overshadowed by the other foods. The interesting thing about this location is that it doesn't feel like a restaurant. The setup of the furniture gives more of a cafe vibe because the tables are not consistently the same and it's an open space. However, the process of sitting down and ordering feels like a restaurant because the pasta and meals take a while to prepare and because they are full meals compared to a snack. Gets pretty loud if there are a lot of people inside. Staff was helpful in advising that the chicken needed to be mixed otherwise it would burn. Even though they have an outdoor section, it was closed on a Saturday when I was visiting. Not sure if it open on other days, but it is not dog friendly.

The menu drew me in, but the food left a lot to be desired. It was fairly empty at 8pm, so thankfully we were able to get a table. Pretty and quiet ambiance with moderately dim lighting. The servers were quick to get our orders, bill, and offered recommendations. Both of our pastas lacked flavor. For a savory dish, the cream sauces were very heavy in cream flavor and lacked salt, seasoning, and depth. The parmigiano cheese- any cheese really- was undetectable in both pastas. Truffle mushroom pasta was incredibly bland, while the steak cream pasta was bland with a sweet aftertaste. For a savory dish, it was really disappointing. I could not finish my pasta. The very humble-looking steak, while small, thin, and oddly not having a sear/char (not super appealing), was pleasantly tender. The garlic bread, however, was the saving grace- nicely toasted and savory. My favorite was actually the caprese salad, but that's hard to mess up. It's a nice place for a last-minute date or meetup without making reservations. Menu impresses but the execution was not so great. Unfortunately, I would not come again.

I was not impressed with the korean italian fusion. It was very much lacking in the elements of korean food as their tteobokki (which is advertised on the menu as "k-food") was simply some form of marinara sauce and the vegetable was a sad take on kimchi. The mentaiko cream pasta was unremarkable. I'm not sure if they're better as a cafe but it's definitely not the place to go for Korean food. Service was fine and the decor was nice.

Somethin has been on my list since they opened, but it's not exactly near me, so I haven't had a chance to check it out until now. The menu is extensive, and everything sounded appealing, but I ultimately landed on the kimchi bacon pasta. The pasta was an explosion of flavor, combining the complex sour, spicy, and salty notes of kimchi with a rich and creamy pasta sauce. The simmered heavy cream based sauce works to temper the acidity of the kimchi, resulting in a bold and savory sauce that pairs perfectly with pasta. Kimchi pasta is one of my favorite fusion dishes, and the cooks at Somethin definitely do it justice. I also ordered a grape crush soju cocktail. The drink tasted like a grape Jolly Rancher, and it was absolutely delightful. So whatever you're in the mood for, you'll certainly satisfy your taste buds here at Somethin ;) ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Been here couple times and pasta is always good here. Last time I got the rose pasta and it was amazing. This time I tried something different and ordered tteokbokki and cream pasta. Surprisingly good mix. One thing is that it can get a bit chilly inside. Great during the day but not so much at night (could've been just me though). Staff is very friendly and plenty of parking at any time of the day.

How is this spot not all over social media yet?! It's giving understated elegance with a dash of Tokyo-meets-Scandi café energy. The aesthetic is minimalist in the best way--think clean lines, warm lighting, neutral tones, and just enough plants to make you feel like your life is more put together than it actually is. Basically, if Muji opened a restaurant, this would be it. The menu is equally impressive: Asian-inspired dishes with a modern twist, plus brunch staples and pastas that feel both comforting and elevated. I got the burrata seafood pasta (yes, I'm a person who orders cheese on seafood--no regrets) and the loaded nachos, and let me just say, the portions were comically large. Like, "why did I wear jeans" large. Coffees were solid--nothing overly fancy, but they paired nicely with the vibe and the food coma I was slipping into. Service was quick and low-key (bonus points for not being overly chatty before my caffeine kicked in). Prices were totally reasonable considering I left with both leftovers and inner peace. Parking wasn't a headache either, which in this city feels like winning the lottery. If you're into minimalist aesthetics, big portions, and food that makes your taste buds clap--run, don't walk.

Halle P.

Came here for the second time yesterday and it's just as good as I remember. Me and my friends each got our own Carbonara and shared the Parmesan Garlic Fries. The Carbonara we all agreed is the best we've had. It's so creamy and savory with the perfect amount of garlic, bacon, and onions. The fries were also delicious and perfectly thin and crispy. I especially loved the sauce it came with--really made it a stand out. It's not super garlic and cheesy though so if you're expecting something of that flavor, it's a bit more subtle. Service is always a 10/10 and the aesthetic is very modern, clean, and a great place to dine with friends. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

Christina X.

My friends and I came here for brunch a few weekends ago. I liked the fact staff answered any questions we had about the menu as some of us had dietary restrictions. I ordered one of the Korean street toasts, and really enjoyed the sandwich. Everything was so flavorful and satisfying. One of the others ordered the chop steak pilaf and that was so delicious. I will definitely come back in the future.

Korean-Italian fusion is one of my favs and this place does it so well!! We enjoyed the gambas, rose pasta, and beef tataki salad~ Everything was served nice and hot, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The inside is super cute and minimal, yet cozy! Staff was kind and food came out pretty quickly. The drinks (somethin cream latte & strawberry matcha latte) were good but not as standout to me. Cant wait to come back to try the other pastas!! read more

I was so happy to find out that there's a cute little brunch place in my neighborhood. Somethin' is a Korean fusion breakfast and brunch spot with their take on breakfast/brunch items like avocado toast, French toast and they also offer pastas and egg dishes. I went with my sister and my partner for brunch before leaving for a 13 week travel assignment. On this visit, we ordered three dishes to share. Look at the photos below. The pasta was very rich and delicious in taste and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I wished they would leave the shrimp head on, but peeled the rest because it was very messy to peel it. The avocado shrimp toast was good, but I'm not a fan of avocado toast. I tried some and it was decent, but I'm not a connoisseur of it. The French toast was very tasty. The cream that came with it really did it for me. It was sweet enough without the maple syrup. I would absolutely come back again and try other dishes. read more

We came on a Monday at 7:00 pm. We were seated right away but also told last call to order was 8:00pm so I already felt rushed. We order a pasta, a rice and a salad. We informed the server that the salad barely had any dressing on it so we'd like a little more. She said it was a $1 charge. Salad dressing was brought in a 2 oz cup and was barely half full....for an extra $1.00. They have a simple esthetic so voices and noise bounce off the walls. Not a lot of people but everything echoed so it was loud. Food was good but I don't feel the need to go back. The extra charge for a teaspoon of extra salad dressing left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

We love this place!! We're local so we just wandered in one day for brunch, it was surprisingly empty with only a couple of tables taken. The service was amazing! The employees here are so kind, attentive but not over bearing. The food was better than I was expecting. We got a breakfast plate, it was pretty pricey but the portions were huge and you can defn share so in reality wasn't that pricey at all. I enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the friendly service so we decided to come back another day to try dinner. Service was still great, and dinner options just as good. The food was great. We tried the mentaiko pasta which my daughter usually gets at Asian fusion pasta places. It sounded spicy from the description, but was not spicy at all. The steak pasta and carbonara were both very tasty. Also had the burata salad which was great for sharing and the octopus. The octopus was an appetizer portion, but came with 3 giant mounds of very flavorful mashed potatoes. Portion sizes were reasonable and we left satisfied with some leftovers. The one star is really based on the customer service and response we got trying to dine in. Saw and heard great things so we decided to have dinner here. Upon arrival we were immediately were told "you have to wait 30 minutes" and explained we have too many To go orders and dine-in guests. We didn't like the tone. My family and I felt "I'm too busy for you guys." We gave this place a try after seeing ads on Instagram. The food was amazing... we tried the rose tteokbokki, Gambas pasta, and the carbonara pasta. My husband had an americano and I tried the Injeolmi Latte. Everything was delicious! The ambiance is nice and clean but it gave off more of a coffee shop vibe so we were surprised with how good the food was. Everything was good, but I took one star off because we went on a weekend and they were really short staffed. We were told that the kitchen was so backed up with to-go orders that they wouldn't be able to get us any food and we were asked to come back in 30 minutes. Luckily, it was a slow evening for us so we took a walk nearby, but it was a bit unprofessional. I'm hoping they'll improve the kitchen staff to keep up with weekend crowds. Other than that, I would recommend this place. read more

The food at this place does not disappoint. I came here with a friend after seeing the extremely appetizing photos and shared the mentaiko pasta and the rose ddukboki together. they were both super creamy, flavorful, and delicious! the rose ddukboki is a bit more creamy and less spicy than i expected, but delicious nonetheless. the only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because this restaurant feels a lot more like a coffee cafe rather than a restaurant serving full meals. The setup and where I was sitting felt a bit awkward because some people come here to quietly study w/ a coffee, while others come to eat w friends. however, the food is amazing and i will definitely be back! read more

My friend and I decided to give this place a shot , we've been seeing it on our insta feeds for a while. We arrived around 5:30ish and signed up the waitlist. It said it was about to be 40-50min wait which we stayed for and was no problem at all. The problem however was that we were seated at 6:30 and did not receive our food until 7:20, almost an hour later. We ordered the bacon Kim chi pasta and a burrata pasta, no drinks. There was 2 older ladies seated behind us about 10 min after we got seated and they got their food first. Same thing with a younger couple who got seated much later than we did and they still were given food before us. We finally got our food and though I will say the food was good and the sauces were flavorful, it WAS NOT something to wait about an hour for. read more

We came here needing a quick Korean fried chicken fix. My thing is to always to compare to…read moresomething that I liked. So my base is K.bbq Chicken. I walked in and noticed they do have limited tables. I wouldn't say this is a big group kind of place. Luckily for us, we were a party of 4. I looked at the menu over and over and couldn't really decide what to order. I had the dilemma of trying to feed my kids. So of course something not spicy and some carbs. I ordered the fries and honestly they were a miss. I didn't like that dirty oil flavor on it. I also did the cheese balls expecting some cheese full, but that again was a little mochi like in texture with no cheese pulls and dusted with a sweet cheese powder. It's an acquired taste. Those are some of the ehhh dishes. However the star of the show were the boneless chicken. We did their ddeok bokki mala flavor. Dang, that thing hits! It's very spicy, but in a good strong salty and spicy flavoring. It's also not too runny like other ddeok bokki's I've had in the past. I was thoroughly surprised by that dish. Now back to the boneless chicken, just be extra careful on your first bite. It's oozing with juices and piping hot. I had to open a few ahead of time to peel the meat for my children. They loved it. Now, pro tip, I would order the original again and order a side of the flaming sauce. That was super sweet and spicy. The perfect compliment to the crunchy texture. I also ordered a side of the boned in wings and had the soy spicy flavor. That was really tasty. I would order beer next time bc these flavors were bold and needed a cold beer to cool down the heat. Now, the thing that impressed me the most were the crunch on every single piece of chicken. They are by far one of the most inquire flavors and texture combination I tried. One thing, that made me say, hey I'll come back here again, was their workers. My son accidentally dropped the fork and like a few parents, we would just pick it up and wipe it off and use it again. I know, not everyone will do that. If you have a toddler they can drop that fork like 4 times sometimes. Anyways, the waiter noticed that and quickly brought us a clean new fork. That's some fine dining detail that I have never experienced in a small restaurant before. Kudos for the wait staff on that. One item for improvement is to offer some carb options like rice or noodles. I know it's more bar or finger food, but can't really serve Asian food without rice.

Juk is known for its creamy texture, nutrient density, and the thoughtful use of ingredients, and Bonjuk delivers exactly that experience. Bonjuk offers an impressive range of classic juk varieties, including samgyejuk (ginseng chicken porridge), jeonbokjuk (abalone porridge), hobakjuk (pumpkin porridge), and patjuk (red bean porridge). Their menu also includes beef vegetable, beef mushroom, beef seaweed, tuna vegetable, salmon vegetable, seafood, shrimp, octopus kimchi, oyster mushroom, vegetable, and plain rice porridges. Prices range from $15.95 to $29.95, depending on ingredients. Each juk order comes with complimentary sides: dongchimi (water kimchi), soy-braised beef, spicy squid, and kimchi. Every side dish is delicious, and additional portions are available for just $2 each, which is a great value. For to-go orders, the juk is packed in a tightly sealed plastic container, accompanied by the side dishes, plastic spoons, and chopsticks--secure, clean, and thoughtfully prepared. I ordered the four most popular juk options to-go: samgyejuk, jeonbokjuk, hobakjuk, and patjuk. There was a small mix-up, and I received two patjuks instead of the hobakjuk. I was initially disappointed, but that feeling quickly faded. The patjuk was perfectly prepared--thick, creamy, silky smooth, earthy, and mildly sweet. My family had no trouble enjoying a second serving. All three juk varieties we tried were excellent. The homemade broths used in most of the porridges deliver a deep, savory umami flavor, and each bowl is consistently thick, creamy, and deeply comforting. Many Koreans still believe in juk's nutritional and medicinal benefits, particularly for soothing the digestive system and balancing Qi energy--and after trying the porridges here, it is easy to understand why. I highly recommend Bonjuk for anyone seeking authentic Korean porridge. Juk has deep cultural roots in Korea and symbolizes care, healing, and nourishment, and Bonjuk honors that tradition beautifully. This location is inside the Super1 Hannam Chain market. Service is friendly, and the restaurant is very clean and well-maintained.

I recently visited Somethin for brunch, and while the staff was friendly, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The cafe itself has a simple and fresh vibe, but one thing that stood out--unfortunately--was the number of house flies that were buzzing around us. It was a bit of a hassle trying to shoo them away during our meal. We started with the Bulgogi Quesadilla as an appetizer. Honestly, it didn't impress us. It was heavy on the cheese and lacked enough meat, and what was there didn't really feel like bulgogi. It was more like ground meat... For our main, my boyfriend and I shared the Steak Cream Pasta. The pasta and cream sauce were delightful, but the steak was a different story. The color of the steak was a bit off-putting and dry, which made us hesitant to finish it. While the waitress assured us that the color was normal, comparing it to other photos online made us doubt it. Thankfully, we didn't feel sick afterward, so it was probably just a color issue, but it still detracted from the enjoyment. With full respect .. apologies in advance if this color is normal.. I'm not use to steak looking like this. Our friend ordered the grilled octopus, which was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were great, but the octopus was a bit on the chewy side. It did take a while to get our check, but they were quite busy, so that was understandable. Overall, while the service was friendly, the food didn't stand out enough for us to want to return. However, thanks for the experience! read more

Somethin offers a solid dining experience with some standout dishes, though a few aspects could use slight improvement. I tried the Gambas, Steak Salad, Mussels, and Shrimp Pasta during my visit, and overall, the food was satisfying. The Gambas were well-seasoned with a nice garlicky kick, and the steak in the salad was cooked perfectly tender and flavorful. The mussels were fresh and came with a broth that was great for dipping bread. The shrimp pasta, while good, could have used a little more seasoning to elevate the flavors, but the shrimp itself was perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and attentive, though it felt a bit slow during peak hours. The staff was polite and checked in a couple of times to make sure we were happy with our meal, which was appreciated. Ambience-wise, the restaurant has a relaxed, modern vibe. The space is clean and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable seating and a pleasant atmosphere for casual dining or catching up with friends. It wasn't too loud, which made it easy to enjoy conversation at the table. Overall, Somethin is worth a visit for its variety of dishes and cozy environment. With a few small tweaks to seasoning and timing, it could easily become a favorite spot. read more

I visited here in the valentine's day, it seems like there were a lot of reservations for today. I saw the instagram advertisement these days and yelp so I wanted to give it a try. I've eaten dumplings my entire life but this type of dumpling was a first for me so I was very interested in trying this out. Turns out the dumplings were pretty good. It does fall apart pretty easily when picking them up with chopsticks to dip into the sauce which was a bit annoying, so you should be mindful and careful of that if ordering them. I've been here a couple of times now, and overall, I'd say it's just okay. The atmosphere is pretty much an older Korean-style bar. Nothing too special, but it has that familiar late-night Korean spot feel. The service was a bright spot though. The server was very friendly both times, which I appreciated. For me, the main issue is the food. I've been here twice, and I honestly can't think of anything I tried that I would call really good. The second time, I came after playing tennis with friends, and we ordered fried oysters, garlic chicken wings, and golbaengi muchim. I didn't touch the fried oysters because before we even ordered, someone mentioned that the oysters here can sometimes taste too fishy. I'm not a huge oyster person to begin with, so that was enough for me to pass. The garlic chicken wings were also just okay. The chicken itself was pretty basic, but the garlic sauce didn't really blend well with it. It felt like I was eating chicken and garlic separately, rather than one balanced dish. The golbaengi muchim was probably the most unusual one for me. They add dried pollack inside, which I normally like, but it didn't work well in this dish. Every time I bit into the dried pollack, it felt more like chewing paper than eating something that belonged with the spicy sea snail salad. I can see why some Korean friends might come here for nostalgia or because it's one of the few late-night Korean bar options in the area, but personally, the food just hasn't worked for me. The service was friendly, and the place itself was fine for a casual Korean bar, but the food didn't stand out on either visit. The price also felt pretty high for what we got. On my second visit, three dishes and a few sodas came out to around $120, which made it harder for me to understand why people specifically choose this spot.

I had stopped by this place before in January of this year and also last November, and I got the cockle bibimbap to go at that time. I remember it being a little spicy, but still very tasty. Today, we had the Stir Fried Spicy Pork Rice and Cold Buckwheat Noodle, and both were absolutely delicious. The service here was also very friendly. I asked for an extra bowl to share the Cold Buckwheat Noodle and he kindly gave us a large bowl. The food was delicious, and the service was very kind, so I really liked this place.

I ordered two combo meals that included cold buckwheat noodles and 3-piece galbi mandu. After we…read morereceived our food, the young server informed us that they were out of galbi mandu. My husband asked if we could receive a refund for the missing item, since the combo was $18.99 and the buckwheat noodles alone were $13.99 (a $5 difference). She responded that she didn't know how to process a refund because it involved taxes. Instead of offering a solution, she expected us to simply accept the noodles without the mandu. I then asked if we could substitute the galbi mandu with kimchi mandu, since they were the same price. Her response was, "Did you order it?!" I explained that we hadn't ordered kimchi mandu because we had ordered galbi mandu, which was unavailable, and we were simply requesting an equivalent substitution. She never apologized for the inconvenience and communicated with a rude, dismissive attitude throughout the interaction. To make matters worse, she initially only brought one order of mandu even though we had ordered two combos. My husband had to go back to the counter to ask for the second order, and she again responded with an unpleasant attitude. The food itself was okay, but the poor customer service completely overshadowed the meal. A simple apology, better communication, and a willingness to resolve the issue would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, the server's attitude ruined what should have been an enjoyable dinner.

Beyond the Kimbap, their rice cakes (Tteok) are incredibly soft and delicious, and I also highly recommend their Dosirak (lunch boxes)--they are packed with care and flavor. Can't believe this place has been around for so long and we're just now discovering it. Definitely…read morefeels like we found a hidden gem! We ordered the jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and kung pao shrimp, and everything was really good. The jajangmyeon was especially a hit with our two-year-old son. He absolutely loved it and kept asking for more. The tangsuyuk was crispy and not too heavy, and the shrimp was probably my favorite. Everything came out fresh, portions were generous, and we left very full and happy. Really glad we finally found this place. We'll definitely be back!

They've added a lot of new dishes and rotating monthly specials. While I have to admit some of the original dishes didn't taste quite as good as I remembered, I decided to branch out and try a few of the new specials. I'm glad I did as they were the highlight of the meal. The rotating monthly specials are a great idea and honestly a smart marketing move because they give you a reason to keep coming back and trying something new. From now on, I'll probably be ordering from the specials menu every visit. Overall, even though a few of the classics didn't quite hit the same, the new menu makes this place worth returning to.
