Amazing food! I've been looking for a vegan restaurant and finally stumbled upon this gem. They seated us right away and accommodated for my son with a highchair. The restaurant was very clean and wow the service... so fast! The food came out so quick I was shocked! I literally ordered so many dishes to try and we were only two people lol we started off with the nuggets and the drumsticks... soo good! Followed by the crispy chicken sandwich wow wow so delicious. Has the right amount of crunch. We got the Pad tai noodles with chicken, orange chicken and the beef. We obviously couldn't finish all this so we definitely had the left overs for dinner. Really gross. Ordered the Pad Thai for delivery and the noodles were in a solid clump like a brick. No flavor, no sauce, not even any lime wedges. So I couldn't break up the solid brick of noodles. I ended up throwing most of it in the trash. Side of Steamed vegetables I ordered were fine. Carrot cake was disgusting. I threw that in the trash as well. While the food at this restaurant isn't the absolute worst, it's not the best given how unhealthy everything is, yet alright if you consume it as "vegan junk food" once in awhile. What's really terrible is the costumer service. I was nearby the restaurant and decided to order pick up on my lunch break. The woman asked for my phone number then kept interrupting and placing me on hold. She comes back to the line to tell me I can't order pick up because about 3-4 years ago I ordered pick up but didn't pick up the food (!!!). I only recalled what she's talking about as that never happens and only did as I got into a car accident on my way to their restaurant and obviously couldn't after the fact when dealing with an accident. Quite tacky, unprofessional, lacking in customer service, and baffling. Never again will I spend my money here. I ordered a Pad Thai dish through Uber Eats like I've done so often before. The bag was secure upon arrival. When I opened the container, the dish was half the volume it normally is. But they made sure to substitute the diminished weight in actual food by pouring cooking grease in it. The noodles were covered with so much greese, I could almost see my reflection in them. When I called the restaurant to speak with someone about it, they told me the manager was not there-- directing me to their website to send an email. When I went to their website, the 'Contact Us' option was not available-- no email to be found. I've always been pleased whenever I've ordered food from this place. So, this was a major disappointment. When you order food from here , they will get it right most of the time. I think their soy steak is among my favorite of the Thai restaurant fake meats in LA. So good. You can make your way around the menu, but I find it's hard to want to choose anything but their quinoa egg rolls and noodles. Cute, cozy neighborhood spot for a low key date, chill meal on your own, or if you want to kick it on the small patio and catch up with your life-size cutout of Tobey Maguire. Yas yas yas yas YAAAAAS! I'm rarely up here but I legit think this is one of my new favorite restaurants. I got the drunken noodles with fake chicken and my friend got the steak quesadilla. I normally dislike fake meat but this was delicious however it was seasoned. And both dishes were FIREEEEE!! This is a vegan restaurant that sorta has a hodgepodge of different cuisines on their menu. But I have a feeling they do it all really well. They have burgers, sandwiches, Thai, salads, a bunch of different little appetizers. It was delicious I was so happy. The prices are what you'd expect for vegan food. There is street parking or residential parking near the area. I am not vegan but there was not much difference in taste of my dish of Drunken Noodles as compared to from a regular Thai restaurant, except minus the meat protein. Very modern interior and exterior. I like the windows and the openness of the small restaurant but that also means that it was quite freezing, when we were one of two parties when we were seated. Winter has definitely come to stay here in LA, just a tad early. Presentation was also everything. The dishes were all plated wonderfully and visually pleasing. My Drunken Noodles were spicy, as it should be, but not too spicy and were very light in grease as well. Felt very healthy after lunch. I've ordered this dish at Thai restaurants and there didn't seem to be too much of a difference in taste, besides less oil used here at Something Vegan. Street parking, but make sure to read the signs before you leave your car. It is, LA after all. Overall, a very pleasant lunch and a very happy tummy with some leftovers! The Portobello fries are also best enjoyed piping hot. The flakiness is a welcome side affect. What's really neat, is inside is a moist meaty piece of shroom. I've been coming here for Friday work lunches for a few months with a vegetarian friend and also took my girlfriend who is gluten free and dairy free. They were too raw for me personally andwhich affected the texture in the curry, hence the 4 stars. If you practice raw veganism this place would be higher on your list! My office mates and I frequently order SV for lunch when we are swamped and I have yet to have something I didn't like. My personal favorites are: spring rolls, fried chicken sandwich, drunken noodles, and the jade fried rice. The flavor combos are deep and sophisticated and they do not scrimp on taste. The soy meat is crispy and up to par texture wise (not to mention they actually resemble real meat).
