We lived in Mystic for 50 years and frequented this popular restaurant many times but I had forgotten how good it is. My wife doesn't usually do any breakfast does one of the simple dishes that I'll avoid here except to mention they are always perfectly done. That means I have to take the explorer's position. The choice on the specials board was a tough choice between the empanadas and that rosemary garlic chicken hash omelet. The south-of-the-border won out. Maybe the hash was great but playing Mexican vaquero was brilliant. Of course, whatever you eat you are treated to terrific, unlimited coffee with different flavor selections in a nifty cup hefty enough to keep your drink warm. The entrance is very deceiving. So hold on until you make that left-hand corner. Hostess takes your name and brings you to the self-serve coffee bar. With nice freshly cleaned warm mugs. Flavored Reg and Decaf. Houseblends Etc. So cozy inside. Famoly friendly atmosphere. With 50s diner style tables, reg kitchen tables, I loved it. Great specials. My husband and I were excited about having breakfast here based on reviews and wanting to leave the Foxwoods complex before checkout time. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us or told us where to go. It looked like there was a lot going on. Crowded, unfriendly and I think that the coffee was self-serve? This is a really nice little spot to get some breakfast, or in my case lunch for breakfast. At this restaurant there are the main menus at the table and the daily specials are written on chalkboards in various locations. The tea and coffee is self serve, but everything else is brought to the table. The staff is very friendly and inviting. They had some great options such as apple pancakes with caramel, but at $13.50 for three cakes I had to pass. If you're an egg lover you'll be happy to see that most of the breakfast menu is built around some form of eggs. Eggs really aren't my thing, so I skipped straight to lunch instead of piecing together my meal a la carte. I ordered the Turkey Reuben. I was extremely happy with my choice. We were in mystic for the weekend and the reviews and photos for this place drew us there. We were greeted right away and told there was a wait but to grab a coffee. It made the wait bearable. They had a few different kinds of coffee and a bar set up with sweeteners , creamers , and flavors. It was a very cute set up. In fact the entire place is adorable. It's very welcoming and homey. Lots of things to look at. Our waitress was fabulous. She took great care of us. The food was amazing. I had shredded hash browns with garlic. They were so crispy and buttery. I had banana bread French toast. It was tasty and huge. I only managed one piece and took the other two home. There were a lot of families there and all of the kids were eating. They have a huge menu with something for everyone. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast. If we lived in mystic we would be there every week ! read more

I'm not quite sure what to think of this place. Its neither good nor great. They serve breakfast and lunch. One perk is that they have a self serve coffee bar which is great! You can only pay with cash here which is super old school but I'm guessing it's a Connecticut thing. Servers and staff members were all so nice which I loved! I ordered the banana bread French toast and my friend ordered the breakfast quesadilla. My French toast lacked a lot of banana flavor and it was super dry so I had to lather it with butter and syrup when it became too sweet. I wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone because it just missed a lot of love. My friend loved the quesadilla so that may be something I'll order next time if I go back. Stopped here around 10am on a Sunday morning and it was the best decision we made all day :-) It's a small place so you may have to wait to get a table. We were seated straight away but by the time we left there was a line out the door. The staff here are nice and friendly. Decor is cute and fitting for the atmosphere. The have a bottomless coffee and tea station, with to-go cups. Makes perfect sense since they were super busy when we were there and it saves time for the staff if that's one less thing they have to worry about. The food here is phenomenal! I had the French toast with the hash special - chicken taco. The hash smelled amazing and tasted as great as it smelled. The French toast was great as well. I was totally satisfied. My husband had the omlette special (tomatoes, mozzarella, and a bunch of other things). Came with toast and home fries. He loved his and I tried the home fries - excellent. Had breakfast here on a Friday morning it wasn't too busy and the tables are spaced nicely for those concerned with covid. The waitress and waiter were both so nice and both took care of us and everyone else eating. We ordered 2 large apple juices, the specialty pumpkin chocolate chip walnut pancakes, 1 over easy egg, 2 poached eggs, and another blackboard special the buffalo chicken hash. Everything was sooo delicious. The poached eggs were over cooked but knowing they can be difficult to cook we didn't say anything. Pancakes were amazing and so flavorful. Was at Foxwoods last weekend and for the first time in forever we stayed off property! Needed a place for breakfast so I turned to Yelp, and they def didnt steer us wrong! Walked in, have to seat yourself, get your own coffee/drinks and the place is cash only. It was soo cozy and everyone there was soo friendly. The options were plenty and everything was delicious! Loved how fast they were able to keep things moving and getting our own drinks was great, so there was never a need to wait for refills. The place is fairly small but they pack them in and never did I feel squished. The food is soo good, cant wait to be back in the area, would DEF come back here for Breakfast! read more

We have eaten here often and we're generally satisfied. This time we came in, found a table and a server asked if we needed coffee or water and gave us menus. She came back and we ordered (coffee, a breakfast meal and a medium rare cheeseburger). Are about 20 minutes we noticed parties who came in later were already brought there meals. We called another server over and she checked and said the order was lost in cyberspace! We reordered and started our second wait. At least 20 minutes later our meal came, with the server avoiding eye-contact. The burger was not medium rare of course, the home fries cold. This restaurant is adorable! I loved the coffee set-up at beginning where you can grab a mug and serve yourself coffee. The service is friendly as well! However we were not too impressed with the eggs benedict. The toast seemed to overpower the taste of the eggs and spinach. It seemed to lack flavor. Forever and always our favorite breakfast spot. We've been coming here for YEARS. We love all the staff and their food so are always returning no matter how many times we've been. They always have a variety of roasted coffee flavors brewed on their coffee bar as well as creative specials and fresh baked muffins. If you love the coffee you can even get beans to go!! We especially love the steak and eggs, French toast specials, and the coffee! It's gotten more expensive over the years but the quality has always been there to justify it. Started off with chocolate milk and orange juice- both good For breakfast the bluberry waffles with almond butter. My only complaint with those is that is so thick it was hard to eat Definitely better with syrup. The omlette I got was pretty good. I had sausage, avacado, cheese and tomato.
