Hidden little gem tucked to the far left. Korean concept straight from Korea, and I lucked out with no wait or crowds. Got the small ube scoop in the upside-down fish cone with cream and 3 toppings...pretty solid, a little sweet but that's cool. Cute outside tables, perfect weather, perfect dessert. 5 stars.

Came with my friends to try the milk and Sakura berry and it did not disappoint!! There was a huge line still on a Saturday night at 9pm, just sucks that the self order kiosks cause the wait times to order to go up, but I got my order immediately after I ordered.

This is a decent SomiSomi to go to if you don't feel like going through the nightmare parking situation over in Diamond Jamboree Center location. Parking is still an inconvenience especially if you just wanted some soft serves and get going. Like it's fine if you were gonna go charge your car, get some errands done at Target, had other shops to browse, and decided to get some soft serve. Now the service itself has minimal wait and the quality is basically the same as you get from say out in Bella Terra or Garden Grove location. Not really anything extraordinary to write on my end, which is good, I guess. If you haven't been to SomiSomi before, I suggest the green tea soft serve and get some taiyaki SEPARATELY. The latter usually comes hot and fresh. Which is wonderful in itself. Just not on top of or to use it to hold the soft serve. It will just make your taiyaki soggy, hands sticky, and soft serve melted.

This location is a bit hidden (near Shake Shack), but a nice little spot with some seating inside and outside. Ordering is done through a self-service tablet, which makes it quick and easy. Tried the Sakura Berry in a cup and the 2pc taiyaki with black sesame and Dubai chocolate (+$2). They rotate flavors weekly, which keeps things interesting. The Sakura Berry wasn't my personal favorite, but my partner enjoyed it. That said, their soft serve is always creamy, flavorful, and the topping options are a nice touch. The taiyaki is the real star! Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of filling. Overall, good value for the price and definitely recommend!

love Somisomi! I used to have it all the time when I lived in LA, so I was excited to get it again. It's such a great spot when you're craving something sweet. Their taiyaki is always a win -- I love that you can mix and match fillings. I got Oreo, matcha, black sesame, and hotteok, and every single one was delicious. Their soft-serve is also sooo good -- creamy, flavorful, and not overly sweet at all. Even though there was a line, they work super fast and everything is made fresh to order, which makes it totally worth the wait. Great staff, great food, and great vibes all around. I'll definitely be back for more yummy treats. Thanks Somisomi for always hitting the spot

    Taiyaki (mochi waffles)

Stopped by Somisomi while I was at the Irvine Spectrum today. I have been to the Diamond Jamboree location a few times but not here. Taiyaki mochi waffles are very good but I don't really care for the filling. It's way too sweet. I also like the taro filling that I usually order from another place and they do not have it here. Service could have been better. The girl that made my taiyaki wasn't super pleasant. No smile, no thank you. Therefore, deduct one star. 4/5

I always have room for dessert--it's my second stomach! We ordered at the iPad and put in our name, and the service was super fast. They called us almost immediately. We got the Earl Grey soft serve with the upside-down taiyaki. One of the workers recommended adding Biscoff crumble to the Earl Grey, and we also added matcha powder. It was chef's kiss, absolutely delicious. There's no real seating inside except for a small bench, and the rest is standing room at the counter. There's outdoor seating too, but it was cold when we went. Despite that, the dessert was totally worth it!

If you're looking for a dessert spot that instantly feels like a treat-yourself moment, SomiSomi is it! Their soft serve is chef's kiss -- super creamy, smooth, and full of flavor. I got mine in the bowl but taiyaki on top, and wow... the taiyaki was freshly made, warm, and perfectly crisp on the outside while still soft on the inside. The custard filling was absolutely delicious and paired so well with the soft serve. Ordering is super easy too -- they've got tablets so you can customize everything exactly how you want it without feeling rushed. They also rotate their flavors, which gives me every excuse to come back. Next time? I'm definitely grabbing the taiyaki on its own and trying new fillings (hello, Nutella ). It's all standing no place to sit. They do have a bar but you stand at it. It's mainly get your sweet treat and walk the Spectrum type of thing. Which I don't mind because there is always something to do or see at the Spectrum!

Somisomi dessert shop is great for soft serve and taiyaki fish-shaped waffles. The rotating flavors and topping options allow you to customize your dessert. Both the Soft Serve In A Cup and Upside Down Ahboong are good. The milk flavor and the swirl combinations are best.

If you love a dessert, this is the spot for you! Hidden away in the spectrum but worth the search! Super cute and really good ice cream!! I have family from out of town that consider it a MUST when they visit.

Aww the staff was so nice. We went out of line to ask a question and the guy saw us go back in and was like let me just order it in person. Unfortunately they do not do samples of new flavors :(. Tried the ube and peach swirl with the taiyaki shell. Somi somi is pretty standard, not too sweet yummy soft serve. The peach is on the sweeter side, kind of like peach candy/syrup or a peach yakult drink ( less yogurty). Ube is mild but my preference as its more creamy and sweet. Matcha custard is light in flavor but a good classic filling. The taiyaki shell needed to be cooked a bit more as it was chewy. Not sure if its a recent change or if they ran out but no macaron shell/strawberry, it seemed like you could get multiple toppings. Good service & fast :). Space inside but may need to find seating outside.

I'm actually surprised that I liked the green tea ice cream here and they don't give samples so I had to take my chances and get a one-size-fits-all for $5.75? It's not too sweet and I like the creamy consistency. I forgot to take pictures, I'm going back to do that now.

Mmmmmm so good, hits the spot every time lol. came in after lunch since we were craving something sweet...... there was a line but it moved faster since they also have tablets to checkout faster and one cashier. The place is tiny but I wanted my treat to go since we were heading to the movies after.

A bit overhyped IMO but the fish shaped "cones" are actually delicious. I just didn't care as much for the frozen items.

We finally gave it a shot today. We ordered the steamed pork belly, cold noodles, and the galbi soup. The food was very good. My mom was quite happy with the cold noodles and my kids consumed every drop of the galbi soup. My dad and I had the steamed pork belly and we agreed that it was pretty good. The part I want to really emphasize was the service. The young man that took care of us was very attentive and most importantly, treated my kids so well. He provided them with all their usual needs like plastic silverware, extra bowls for soup, and even offered extra soup when he saw that they devoured the galbi soup. He went out of his way to give them some BTS Edition Oreos and little bags with stickers in them. I am always very grateful anytime people take care to treat my kids well. I tried the raw marinated crab for the first time here, and it was so flavorful and honestly tasted amazing. It is definitely a little messy to eat, but I would absolutely order it again. The short ribs are usually my go-to and were great as usual. I will say BCD Tofu House probably has them beat when it comes to LA galbi specifically, but these still hit the spot. The bulgogi was also a solid addition to the table. One of my favorite parts of coming here is the banchan. This isn't the place for trendy fusion dishes or flashy presentation; it's all about hearty Korean comfort food that feels especially satisfying on a cold day. My go-to Korean dishes are Yukgaejang and Bossam. The spicy beef soup is usually my benchmark for any Korean restaurant. Tang 190's version delivered everything I look for: a rich, deeply flavored broth with a satisfying level of spice and plenty of tender beef throughout. It's the kind of soup that keeps me coming back. This last visit, I finally got to try their pork and kimchi platter. The pork itself was tender and enjoyable, but I wasn't a fan of the cabbage. Instead of being lightly pickled with salt, it had been fermented to the point where it resembled white kimchi. I've actually never seen it made like this before. I definitely prefer the fresher, crisper flavor profile to pair with the pork and radish, so this preparation didn't quite work. Service was efficient, and the meal arrived quickly. On any other day, it's usually a 5 star visit, but the bossam preparation was a huge miss for me. While prices have crept up over the years, Tang 190 still does what it does best: serving comforting, no-frills Korean food that consistently hits the spot.

I have always really liked this restaurant, which is why today's experience was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, what happened today was truly awful. From the beginning, our server appeared visibly impatient. When we repeated a couple of dish names to make sure the order was correct, she began speaking to us in an unnecessarily loud and irritated tone. Her voice was loud enough that another employee noticed the situation and offered to take over the order. Instead of accepting the help professionally, our server responded that the other employee would not be able to understand what she had written in Korean. When the other employee later asked her to repeat our order, she read it back very loudly and with obvious anger. The entire restaurant could hear her, and the experience made our whole family feel embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable, especially since we had children with us. Later, she seemed to realize that her behavior had affected us. She brought us a noodle dish "on the house" and briefly said sorry. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not undo the way we were treated in front of the entire restaurant. My question is: if you knew your behavior required an apology afterward, why treat customers that way in the first place? Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they are dining with a larger group or placing a larger order. We came to enjoy a family meal, not to be spoken to with hostility and publicly embarrassed. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed the food.
