Ran across this cute donut shop while walking home. Very cute mochi donuts and more including variety of corndogs ; teas ,boba drinks. The interior is very cozy and delightful .. nice for a quick snack. On this visit I encountered this Ube flavored mochinut so airy and light. It was so delicious .. next time i will definitely need to order half dozen one of each flavor ! The shop seemed to be getting A lot of orders over the phone out for delivery and were running low on everything. So plan ahead of you need a big order. I didn't feel welcomed with friendly greeting upon entering perhaps they were too busy with the big orders were more important. Otherwise I would've given a five star read more

It was a'ight. After months of the team stuck in the DTLA office raving about this place, and telling me I'd never love another donut, I was pretty much let down considerably. Don't get me wrong, the donuts are good; light and flavorful. It's just they only have a few flavors at any given time and they're not exactly the most filling donuts. You can't buy 1, 3 is the minimum, but 3 kinda equals one regular size donut elsewhere. They have a good drink business as well and very cool how they 'can' it up when they make it to order. The team at the office loves it and they continue to rave about it and they'll continue driving business their way and I'm happy about that because these shops need all the support they can get nowadays. I'll go again, but it won't be my regular donut hole. read more

Fresh mochinuts and such friendly staff! I had Mochinut some time ago, but haven't been back in a while. Now that I've moved to the neighborhood, I'm sure I'll stop by more frequently! Their menu changes every week, so definitely check out their IG before stopping by. Over the weekend I had some friends visiting my new place, so I got the DTLA Special (5 corndogs) and 6 mochinuts. I visited today, Saturday. These mochi donuts are the best I have tried. They are delicious! First you can park in the lot for 5 minutes free FYI. They rotate flavors every week and have about 6 flavors. I tried strawberry funnel cake, guava, churro, chocolate churro, and original. They were all delicious. The dough is soft and tasty. They are also generous size however pricey. I paid $30 plus tax for a dozen. Straightforward and delicious. So good! read more

I was gifted a box of assorted Mochinuts and ever since then, I have been hooked! One of my favorite textures is the chewy fresh donut texture, and the Mochinut seems to enhance that even more because it's part mochi. Usually, normal donuts are no longer good the next day because they lose their chewiness, but these were still chewy and delicious for a whole week! There are regular donuts, cake donuts...then mochi donuts. The texture of these donuts is really something else. These have been a staple in Asia for quite some time but I'm starting to see them pop up here more. Guaranteed a unique sensation for your taste palate. Soft, with a slight, but not overly tacky chew. Taste lighter than a normal donut - careful, that means you can polish off more than usual! I had heard that Mochinut opened up in the former Chica's Tacos compact space (RIP) and have been meaning to check it out for awhile. When I finally stopped by, the lady informed there was a minimum of 3 donuts per order which I wasn't too keen on at first, but I decided on Original, Buttermilk Cinnamon Swirl, and the "Homer Simpson" limited edition one. The packaging itself made these look so appetizing. And once I got home, I was surprised they weren't too sweet/rich, and all 3 were distinctly different but all so tasty. Glad to have Mochinut in the neighborhood. Also, will have to try their boba drinks, they looked delish. read more

Soooo I had to try the Mochinut because my sister said that she won't go back to regular donuts; pretty big claim, if you ask me! I happened to be driving past this spot and stopped in. I am so glad I did! Really small, but cute spot. They definitely are taking necessary precautions for COVID. They have a good variety of flavors - I tried the horchata and churro one! The horchata, I wouldn't say tasted like the drink... but it was still delicious! More like a "milk and cereal" flavor (and funny enough, it's topped with a piece of cinnamon toast crunch)! The churro one did taste like a churro, except the texture is different, obviously... I will say, I have to agree with my sister. Why have a regular donut when you can have one of these? They're slightly chewy, but delicious and definitely delivers on flavor and satisfaction! It somehow feels less guilty than eating a regular donut but I have no clue what the nutritional facts are. If you're eating this though, you probably don't care; just treat yo self! read more

Great for first timers. Got the half dozen donuts and it was surprisingly good! Basically mochi like donuts. Comes with 6 piece of the mochinut and random flavors when you order delivery. It was fresh, soft, chewy, and not overly sweet. Matcha Boba was very disappointing. Couldn't really taste the matcha flavor. Boba was soft, chewy, but flavorless...Drink in general was not too sweet. read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon during covid and it was empty so I was in and out in a minute with my donuts! The shop is so cute on the outside! They always change their flavors so check out their day's flavors on Instagram before you head out. You can also order online. 6 for $15 or a dozen for $30. You definitely want to eat these donuts ASAP and at the latest, EOD. They tasted totally different the morning after. Of the ones we tried, here are my rankings: 1. Strawberry creme (strawberry donuts are always on point) 2. Thai tea (sweet!) 3. Coffee dulce de Leche (pretty sweet.. I liked the caramel) 4. Original 5. Matcha (didn't taste too much matcha or Oreo flavor) They also have holiday boxes right now. Super cute and good for gifting. read more

This was our first time eating Mochinuts. If you enjoy mochi then this is for you to try. WOW they were amazing! If not the consistency may be too chewy for you. I still suggest you try it. We ordered the original, mango, churro, chocolate churro, UBE and raspberry funnel cake. What a spectrum of flavors. My favorite was the UBE and churro. Be aware they cost more than your standard donut. And not the same serving size as a donut. I will be keeping an eye out for one near me. read more

I come here almost everyday, on my morning commute and this place is amazing! I love the mochi doughnuts, they are so soft and chewy and there are so many flavors that change every few days so there is always something new to try! I really like the Taro, Oreo Green Tea & black sesame. The owner is so kind and goes above and beyond, and all the other staff are so nice and chill. I've been living across the street since the inception of Chica's Tacos which was a very cute and cherished spot I could count on for decent fish tacos. It was devastating to see them close down with little to zero notice but on the sweet side, we have a new donut shop. Aight y'all...I was a bit hesitant because I am not a fan of mochi at all. The name is a bit misleading because we thought that there would be gooey balls inside like the ones from the mochi ice cream sold at Trader Joe's but we were pleasantly tricked because there was no goo inside! I had a few neighbors try it out for testimonials before pulling the trigger and they all had good reviews. They weren't mind blown but said they would probably go back. The two descriptions I kept hearing were : chewy and too sweet. I didn't get too much flavor from the 3 I tried which were : Chocolate, Taro and Earl Gray. I appreciated the extra touch of the bootleg Pocky Stick they decorated the chocolate one with and the colorful cereal on the Taro but they were too much. I picked Taro because it seemed promising but their pictures didn't match what they sold. Maybe they had extra cereal they didn't know what to do with? How in the world does Fruity Pebbles cereal compliment Taro? It don't. Just keep it simple. I'm a huge skeptic of new donut spots popping up because they just never compare with the OG classic mom and pop ones in the hood. Once in a while, a new trend pops up and I'll expand my diabetic horizon out of curiosity so that was today. Overall, the donuts had a light fluffiness and extra chew factor to them which we liked. The toppings and glaze could have been reduced in sweetness and maybe just take everything 3D off even though they were lightly coated and not too decadent like Donut Man. You can definitely taste the grease increase in these little mochinuts. Reminds me of baby teething rings. Cute little balls. Instagram influencer worthy. Would I go back? Maybe. I wish they had an option of like no glaze, no nothing at all. Check it out for a new donut experience. I'm a fan of the extra chew and texture. read more

I'm from the Bay Area but I've been to Cafe Dulce several times. My wife and I really like their Hong Kong Tea Latte and their Matcha drink, as well as their various donuts and baked goods. In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Keep supporting the classics, not just because they've been around for a while, but because they have strong products and service.

Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

It was nothing like a glazed twist donut; the only similarity was that it was twisted. It seemed to be baked, not fried. It was very good quality, but I really messed up by not getting a creme-filled donut instead. My friend had a pecan roll and loved it. The quality of the product here is top tier for sure. The prices are premium, but the quality matches the price. They also sell sandwiches as well as coffee and tea drinks. I will certainly go back and try one of the many creme-filled donuts.

We got the einspänner latte, matcha spänner, and breakfast sliders (bacon, because avocado was sold out). The drinks were small, but they do pack a lot of flavor. No adjustments necessary, and they had the right amount of sweetness. The sliders were very tasty, and it came in four with two sauces on the side. Okay, all I can say is I've never had a donut this yummy. I mean, I'm no expert but we do tend to try out popular foodie spots from Yelp whenever the opportunity presents itself. I followed this shop's Instagram page and it just so happened (?) to come up in my feed when we were in Downtown. They are on the pricier side. We purchased a dozen and it was approximately $30. That being said, I would definitely buy them again. They have a good selection of donuts and change them every 3 days. The employees make the line move pretty quickly. There's bound to be something, actually, most likely a LOT of goodies, for everyone! We will definitely be back for those Korean corndogs!! The dough on these are a nice crunchy outside, pillowy inside taste of goodness. If clouds had a texture and flavor, it would be this. Parking could be a bit tricky but there is some indoor AND outdoor seating. Last but not least, you will inevitably gain weight if you fail to hit the gym afterwards! read more

If you're anywhere near downtown LA and haven't tried Somochi yet, you're seriously missing out. These donuts are next level--crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweet. They're made mochi-style, so you get that addictive texture in every bite. The flavors rotate, which is dangerous because it makes you want to come back constantly. Ube, matcha, churro, black sesame--you really can't go wrong. Everything tastes super fresh, and they look almost too good to eat (but you'll eat them anyway, fast). The shop itself is small and cute, and the staff is always friendly and chill. You can tell they care about what they're serving. Bottom line: Somochi is a must-visit if you're into donuts--or honestly, even if you're not. These things might just convert you. read more

Moochie Donut in downtown LA is a true delight! Their donuts are a cloud of perfection, fried to an airy, melt-in-your-mouth finish. The toppings? The store is small but I guess you don't need a big space. This is the second time I have had there donuts. It's a different spin on what is a donut. Since I never been to Korea. Just another way to try their street foods in the USA. And being so close to work for a treat is great. I do however want to try their drinks. They look good and refreshing. It's organic French roasted Arabica coffee ice cream rolled then topped with roasted pecans, chocolate covered feuilletine, crushed dark chocolate coffee beans, drizzle of chocolate syrup, an Oreos cookie, and a s'mores marshmallow. The rolls were cold and chewy, didn't melt while eating like some other ones I've had. $10 for a cup is worth sharing and trying at least once for the experience. The ice cream maker might even bounce to the beat while making your rolls. I can't wait to come back to try the malted Thai tea and the Ube crunch.

I was getting irritated cause it was taking so long. And it cost $10. Long wait and expensive?! My sour tune changed when I took my first bite of heaven inside that cup. This delicious little cup of ice cream was worth $10 and even more so worth the wait. My husband wanted to treat me to something for my hard work as a stay at home mom. Me thinking, Babe it's a little pricey...But he said you deserve it with love in his eyes so I said ok. I looked at the menu and decided on the UBAECRUNCH. What a wonderful decision that was. The rolls are made of organic milk. It is thick and really creamy. You can taste the difference from other roll places. I feel that other roll places dilute their milk...Idk and honestly don't care. Blue Nova was one of the four places I've tried and it beats them all, hands down. And to those that think this is one of those fake reviews, it isn't. I don't know any of these people. I am just a dessert loving gal looking to enjoy what the dessert world has to offer.

I was pretty hungry when I came and settled on ordering a Chipotle Chicken Club which is Chicken Breast, Bacon, Cheese, Organic Greens, Tomatoes & Chipotle Aioli on a Baguette. The sandwich itself took maybe 5 minutes to make (with my wife's sandwich) and cost about $14 which is definitely a little more then I would like to spend for basically a 6 inch, but it's a small downtown sandwich shop so it is what it is. The sandwich itself tasted really good and i have zero complaints about it. The bread seemed fresh, the meat was good, and the veggies topped it all off. Overall, Marie's Coffee & Deli is a simple sandwich shop and a great place to get a quick lunch. Thanks to it's convenient location, I'll definitely be back in the future for some more.

When she saw the case full of flavors, she lit up. McConnell's has a great selection, and she loved that you can get your ice cream in a cone, a cup, or her personal favorite; a cup with a cone on top. She chose a small cup of Sprinkle Cake with a sugar cone, and she was over the moon. The team working there was incredibly kind and patient with her, which made the experience even better. She took one bite and said the ice cream was "wicked good." She's officially a fan. McConnell's made her day, and that alone makes it worth the stop.
