I have been coming here frequently only to find it closed despite hours posted on the door. Finally Saturday open. A pleasant young lady seated me who spoke English as a 2nd language. Nice gentle music playing in the background. I wasn't hungry enuf to order an entree so i settled for salad roll (with a tiny tiny piece of chicken) with peanut sauce & a pot of jasmine tea. The peanut sauce was outstanding!!! $13.37. Little expensive but it's par with the nations high food prices. Nice clean unisex bathroom. Attractive interior but it was getting hot outside & inside. Don't know if they wud have run the AC. I don't like to sweat while i eat. The menu was such small print i ended taking pictures then expanding on my phone. Probably wud not return.

Tom Kha, rice, cucumber salad, thai ice tea and water in crystal glass bottle.

Great food and service. They are only open a few days a week but the food quality makes it a true treat.

The food looks and smells amazing. The service was very friendly too. Just two ladies running the show and everything looks and smells and tastes amazing. Very generous portions, we walked out with a literal cardboard box full of food.

Got in from our way from Seattle to Portland, very good food, not so good service, 3 staff members on a big restaurant isn't enough.

I love cafés, especially finding the local ones, and I was really looking forward to eating here…read morebut I was sadly disappointed. We ordered 2 rice bowls (hot honey and teriyaki chicken). Both were bland tasting. The hot honey sauce didn't taste like hot honey at all (more like Frank's sauce). The coleslaw didn't go with the rest of the dish at all. It just wasn't the right combination. We also waited a while for our order (approx. 20 mins). Not sure what the hold up was despite the place being empty when we dined in. The server was nice, though, and there is plenty of space for large groups. Outdoor seating available too. Overall, I likely won't be back.

I was starving and looking for something I could eat on the go, being a vegetarian seriously limits my options there, so I decided to be brave and try this spot since it was close to where I was. So glad I did!! It's a funky spot, lots of seating, super friendly staff, very clean. Bonus. They told me to expect 20 minutes for my sandwich but it was ready in under ten minutes, double bonus! The sandwich. Omg. Slightly ground and blackened chickpeas, super fresh arugula, super fresh tomato, an amazing sauce served on the softest ciabatta bread I've ever had. It was amazing - absolute perfection. And it was all wrapped up nice and neat for easy, on the road eating. Served with a bottle of water and bag of Tim's chips. This all made me very happy - give them a shot for sure if you're in the area.

I had the Pesto Caprese pizza and it was amazing! The balsamic glaze added just the right amount of sweetness to bring together the different flavors. My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and told us how all the ingredients were locally sourced, which is very good to hear because we like to support local businesses. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? We will definitely come back and also check out the market next time.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

The adult working in the back was dismissive from the outset. One of the burgers we wanted was unavailable. When I asked what it was, a young employee answered that they did not have them anyway not an apology, not an alternative, just a clipped remark that made the shortage sound like our problem. The tray was then dropped and slid across the table. I said thank you. The reply was "Yup." A drive-in puts its staff in front of the public. That is the job. These are young people being given a chance to work and earn money. The interaction we received suggested they have not been taught, or required, to treat customers with ordinary courtesy. One employee spent roughly twenty-five plus minutes in the restroom before appearing on the floor. Sink was dry, I did not see any handwashing before she handled our order. In a food business, that is not a small detail. Remember, you never know whom you are serving. The person at the counter is not just another ticket. Courtesy is not optional because the customer looks ordinary, and accountability does come in reviews, in lost business, and in a reputation a small shop cannot afford to shrug off. This is consistent with what other reviewers have described for some time prices that belong to a sit-down restaurant, difficulty finding a supervisor, and a tone from the counter that treats a complaint as an inconvenience. Dairy Dan's reputation has always rested more on ice cream than on burgers. After yesterday, the service problem is clearer than the food. If the check is going to look like a restaurant check, the staff should be held to restaurant standards, look people in the eye, acknowledge a simple thank-you, and have an adult accountable when something is out of stock or a tray hits the table.
