I wanted to give a shout out to sonders. This place is amazing. I love that they have a huge variety. They are constantly adding seasonal items which are amazing. Service is second to none. We like the bar area because the seats are more comfy and bartenders are very attentive. Ambiance is relaxed and casual but can also be great for business lunch. Absolutely must try!

It's been a little while since we ate brunch at Sonder. Very good choice today. We had amazing service and we all enjoyed every bite. The bruschetta appetizer is always a crowd pleaser. I appreciate that they slice it up and it's easy to share. We had the sonder burger, breakfast sandwich and French dip. We also upgraded to Mac n cheese and it was definitely worth the extra $5!! As always, their portions are generous and the iced tea was good. There were a lot of tables full of happy families and couples enjoying their morning together. We were seated quickly and had a nice time together. We were celebrating my son's birthday and they were kind enough to bring out a slice of confetti cake. It topped off our time perfectly!

My friend and I spent a pleasant afternoon at Sonder recently. We went at around 2:30 in the afternoon. Perfect time for a friend meetup. It's quiet and peaceful, easy to chat without yelling. Jake was our outstanding server. He was so friendly and attentive. I love sitting on those lovely green sofas. I had the Lavender Lemon Drop Martini, Yum, my friend had glass of Cabernet. My companion ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce so rich and comforting. I had the seared Ahi appetizer. The interior is upscale industrial, very attractive. If you don't mind a fairly loud place during peak hours it's a nice environment for a date night. I've always experienced great service, delicious food and tasty libations here. Definitely check them out. I understand they are opening new locations. I'm looking forward to trying them in the near future.

Today we came here for brunch on our way out of town. Our Aunt said that she comes here all the time and even lives close enough to walk so she felt like it would be the perfect place to do brunch! I'm so glad we listened! Jacob was our server and he was so awesome! Honestly he was one of the kindest servers we have ever met very attentive and so just all around kind! He was attentive and helpful whenever we needed a refill or some extra syrup! Shout out to him for being amazing! The food was so good I ended up getting the French toast and it was thick, fluffy and so sweet! Yum! My husband got the biscuits and gravy and he was a little on the fence about it but was pleasantly surprised when he tasted it! I loved the vibe of this place and honestly everything about it! I would definitely come back and eat here again!

The short rib has finally been ordered and let me tell you it doesn't disappoint. The short rib is fork tender and perfectly slow cooked to melt in your mouth. Sauce is very rustic and bold and exactly what you want with this dish. It absolutely hot the mark and then some. My 2nd favorite short rib of all time. Definitely worth every bite. Potatoes were not my style but still good, and carrots were cooked and caramelized perfectly. I would 1,000 percent order this again and again and again.

Sonder in Bakersfield is great local spot. Cool and relaxed vibe, great place to get together with friends. They even take reservations. Sometimes they have comedy shows; that sell out fast and look fun. We went for brunch on the weekend; menu isn't huge; but decent choices. I ordered the French toast; yum ; made my eyes jump out of their sockets. The fresh berries added a nice touch. I added a side order of sausage patties, so good. One of my friends and I did the unlimited mimosas ; I think it's around $30. Pineapple mimosa was definitely top winner. They bring you glasses of juice and the waitress comes around to refill your glasses with champagne, worth the price. This is definitely a good choice!

My work held their Christmas party Friday night here at Sonder's. This was my first time eating there and I have to say, I really enjoyed the food. We had the entire patio reserved, it was cold, butvthey had several propane heaters going. As long as you bundled up, it was fine. My legs and feet stayed kind of cold but it wasnt too bad. They served a salad with sone sore of champagne dressing. It was really good. The onions were quite strong and the dressing was peppery. So if you didn't plan on kissing anyone and if you like black pepper, it was good. Theu also served mashed potatoes that looked like they were made with red potatoes. I didn't have any but they looked really good and my coworkers who had sone said they were good. And the green beans were super good too! They had diced tomatoes in them. Definitely need to find a recipe for that. Proteins where chicken and tri-tip. Both were really good. The chicken was nice and moist. The tri-tip was tender. Light seasonings but all really good. I definitely want to go back and see what else they offer.

Beautiful decor & ambiance with comfy lounge areas and tables. Food is delicious with a variety of dishes on their menu. I recommend their Friday brunch menu & getting an espresso martini - it was well made! Their service could be improved as we waited a bit at each step of our experience. They also ran out of some menu items after ordering and our waitress was distracted when speaking with her. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with good food & delicious drinks.

First time visiting sonder. It was a Sunday 9/13 they have a dj that was a cool bonus! Lots of birthday brunches. Our server Drew was amazing. Checked on us so much made sure our drinks were always filled. After our food came out made sure to check on us again brought us any extra salsas we needed. Great server Hope to see him around next time!

It's a hidden gem in the Northwest Bakersfield. It has a cool European pub vibe. The server was surrounding sweet and helpful. The food come quickly. I hope you are hungry, because 2 of us could only eat half of the plate. I ordered the girlfriend burger, Wagyu patty with a surprise sweet sauce. Fatty, decadent, I devoured that delicious burger. My friends loved their bacon mac and cheese and beef stroganoff. Check out the photos. Also a cool place for a drink!

It's been years since we have been here. Love the changes to the dining room since we last visited. Warm and inviting. We were able to see Hillary who is always a joy. I'm sorry not to be able to thank our outstanding bartender, her name is slipping my mind . I'll update when I recall her name or find my receipt. Both ladies were welcoming and friendly. The drinks were excellent. I tried the Valentini and the watermelon margarita. For dinner we had the mussels and clams that were delicious. For garlic lovers like us the broth was outstanding paired with the toasted bread pieces to soak up the goodness. Also had the poutine. Rich flavorful gravy on top of fries, with cheese and shaved ribeye on top. We will be returning to try more of their menu items soon. Thank you Sonder for a wonderful date night out.

I had the privilege of meeting a good friend here for lunch. It didn't disappoint. Service was great. She greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcomed even though I arrived before my friend. Once my friend arrived she checked on us but also gave us space to have a conversation. (Loved that) the inside is more like a friend's house and less like a restaurant. There was a dj who had the older folks shaking their buns from left to right. Also the sound sometimes fluctuates so it goes from you need to yell to speak to the person across from you to now the table can hear you conversation, rather quickly. Only issue I had, I asked for no pickles but I counted about 4. (2 on each half of my sandwich) aside from that I'm happy I came by!

This was my 3rd time here and unfortunately I've never had a good experience here. The wait time is always incredibly long. This last time we were there for 2.5 hours and not by choice. Our server was taking a very long time to take our drink and food order, and then it took about 45 minutes for them to get it out to us. This was on a Friday at about 1:30pm. It was a bit busy-- but not wait 45 minutes for your order busy. Additionally, we were sitting at the outside patio and our server was hardly coming out to check on us, so we finally went inside to ask for tab because we were tired of waiting. In regard to the food, the bruschetta was good, pretty standard. The bolognese pasta, however, had a weird taste in my opinion. Overall, disappointed in my experiences here.

There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

Fast forward to September of 2026, and my wife and I decided we wanted to go to Flame and Fire for their Friday lunch offerings. We both opted for the Rodizio and Market table offering and were definitely not disappointed. The market table featured classic Brazilian food offerings, such as black beans, salads, various peppers, olives along with not so typical fare; lobster bisque and steamed salmon. Our server was very attentive, answering any question we had and brought our beverages promptly and provided refills on iced tea and water without the need for a request. The Gauchos (the servers bringing the meats) had an excellent cycle time in walking through the restaurant with their selections. Everyone was friendly and genuine with their smiles and conversation. The meat selection for Friday lunch was as follows; garlic steak (super flavorful and tender), tri-tip, Portuguese style linguiça sausage, lamb (my wife's favorite), grilled pineapple and of course the Queen of any Rodizio, Picanha. (I could wax poetic about my love for Picanha but I won't in this review.) We ended our wonderful meal with a shared slice of cheesecake with a strawberry sauce drizzle. The cheesecake was delicious and definitely served in portion meant to be shared. My wife described it as a "cinder block sized slice." Over all I was very satisfied and would definitely go back. The manager even braught us a lamp to our table when it got slightly darker and the lightning inside is dim to provide a romantic ambiance. That was very helpful and enhanced the experience. The manager was one of the most involved managers I have ever seen. I can't say enough about him, 100% doing a great job. Their darkened windows help to set the ambiance, paired with lots of greenery that created an almost tropical/jungle vibe. The staff here is always very friendly and attentive. They are always willing to help make your experience great. My favorite dish to order is their Camarones Brazas. If you're a fan of shrimp, then you can't pass this one up. It's breaded shrimp that is simmered in the most magical wine & jalapeño sauce, giving it that beautiful golden color. They top it with bell peppers, tomatoes, and avocados, with a side of rice placed at the center of the plate, and garnished with some cilantro and micro greens. This presentation was everything, and it tasted just as good as it looked! This unique blend of flavors has my mouth watering just thinking about it. If you're looking for a fun spot, where the food lives up to the fancy aesthetic--try Brazas!

I had seen my bartender at THD and at both of my gyms and would've never imagined him to be so skillful in the mix. I was told he is so amazing to the point where he has people following him. I say this because the lovely couple I met today told me they met with LUIS a while ago and have kept in contact to the point they follow where he goes and this is them knowing him over YEARS and now he is here!!! I had no food just grown up juice. LUIS'S first drink served a punch only because my coworker asked for it before I got there, but even though it had a kick it was WHISKEY SOUR APPROVED! I did ask LUIS if he made his sours with egg white and he ran to the kithcen and made my drink the way I LOVE!!! Perfect drink perfect, perfect pour what more cane you aske for!!! Yes I did ask LUIS if I can record him and he gave his consent. Thank you Luis.
