Breakfast Totchos, you better be hungry
    Matthew C.

I rarely eat out for breakfast, so decided to stop briefly before heading out of town. Friday morning, and there were already several other hungry diners. This spot has a fairly large dining area, so even though it was a bit crowded, there were still plenty of available tables and we were seated promptly. I opted for the Mazapan coffee and I really enjoyed it, a mild flavored coffee with a nutty and creamy flavor. For breakfast I had the order of French Toast served with sausage, bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs. The eggs were absolutely perfect. Very light and fluffy, as were the hash browns. The sausage was good, but only slightly warm which I didn't like. The bacon was good, but it was a thicker cut of bacon so it wasn't as crispy as I would've liked. I loved the French Toast! Cooked perfectly, warm and delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. I wasn't prepared for how generous their portions were, so come hungry.

Very nice service! Wait was not too long for Sunday brunch. Place is cute. The food was good, I wasn't super impressed by the French toast. They were very goey in the center. Food in general lacked seasoning. The refresher was super sweet. The tater tots were crispy. The hash browns could be crispier. Overall, nice place, not the best. I didn't feel like it was anything special.

First time visiting. It was great. Staff was friendly. We walked in on a Friday around 10:30 and was surprised to see a packed restaurant at such an off hour! We kinda knew at that point it would be pretty good! We did have to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. We waited outside and the weather was perfect. Nice seated our server couldn't have been any friendlier. The menu had so many delicious options it took a while to narrow it down. I ordered chili verde and eggs and wife ordered the Karen omelette. So good! Every thing was freshly made! So much flavor! Restaurant was clean even being completely full capacity! Bathrooms were sparkling clean as well! 10/10 experience which is hard for a breakfast spot!!

Decided to take my parents to a different spot for breakfast/brunch. This spot reminds me of a Cafe I've been to in Pismo. The decor is simple and open and Modern. They have plenty of tv's to look at and the stafe is very friendly. Jose was our waiter and apologized for the short staff. My mom got the tri tip breakfast and said her meat was very tender and seasoned beautifully. My dad got the pork chops and said the meat was also very tender and easy to cut. Side note if you enjoy drinking coffee like I do please note they only serve half and half and no other creamer. I would say for me that was the only down fall of this restaurant. With that being said next time I come I will be bringing my own creamer from home lol. If you indulge in alcoholic drinks I seen they have a variety of options. I got the pismo tacos with fruit as my side. Needless to say I never finish my plate but I did today. It was just the right amount of food to leave you feeling satisfied and not needing to haul off leftovers. Although I did see a lady a table length away get there chicken fried steak and it was massive. Can't wait to come back again and try there breakfast out. This is a great spot for breakfast and brunch and lunch.

So I invited my Neighbor to one of my favorite spots and like always the food was delicious. She ordered the waffle plate and let me tell you those waffles are not only big , crunchy and soft at the same time. I like always I enjoyed my chicken steak made to perfection. Our waiter was very patient and in taking order as we were catching up and enjoying our caramel coffee. There is plenty of sitting and it's always clean and tidy. The only downfall is that they only have two restrooms for such a big crowd.

This neighborhood Hotspot has so many cool dishes on the menu! The staff is great and the food is delicious! On the weekends, get there before 9am to avoid wait time!

Stopped in here for my birthday breakfast, my oldest son and his girlfriend invited out to this spot. I ordered the hot dang. Service was great, they took care of us fast and were welcoming throughout our time here. It was a busy morning but the staff kept the flow good and the place was clean. I would recommend this place in a heart beat. Plenty of seats/table and TVs.

Went to grab a bite to eat with my husband last Sunday and it was my first time at toasted. The first thing I noticed was a pretty good size crowd waiting outside. We got on the wait list and they called me back really fast. We waited maybe 10 minutes or so. Now my waitress was the best! Actually the entire staff was just so friendly. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled. She answered any questions I had regarding the menu and even gave me recommendations based on what I told her that I liked. I order breakfast tacos and my husband got a eggs with biscuits and gravy. The portion sizes were plenty! The food had great flavor. I wish more places in Bakersfield had customer service like this. Even the guys cleaning up the tables offered me to go water cups. It truly is the little things that matter. I wish toasted all the success!!

Been to Toasted plenty times in the past when they first opened. I met a colleague here for brunch today and it was a pleasant atmosphere. We checked in at 9:30am and the place was already packed. However, the wait wasn't too long and we got a nice roomy booth. Server approached us in a timely manner to get our drink orders and allowed us time to browse the menu. I opted for the Cali Benedict and a cup of coffee. The good food reminded me once again why I always frequented this SW location in the past. The portions are big and the menu is extensive enough that there's something for everyone to choose from. Good option for brunch or lunch at any day of the week.

We came in and were seated right away. I got the Hot Dang huge meal, my husband the 6 egg on letter. Portions are HUGE! Food was hit and delicious, service was perfect! Sorry no pics, we dove right in and forgot. Presentation was top notch! I wouldn't have normally come to a 3.6 star restaurant but took a chance on local Facebook recommendations. Glad I listened to those! This is a MUST try!!

While the wait can be long, it was well worth it. Toasted is a nice local hole in the wall with plenty of options. The kids meal quality was just as good as entrees. I highly recommend the tri tip cheesy melt sandwich!

If you've ever wondered what it feels like to be hugged from the inside by a Southern grandma you never had, Toasted is the place to find out. We started our spiritual journey with an Arnold Palmer that was so perfectly balanced, I suspect a zen master brewed it while meditating on a citrus grove. Sweet, tart, refreshing, I could live on this stuff. Then came the chicken fried steak. Wow. I'm not saying I cried, but I wanted to lift the plate to the heavens with the opening theme song of Halo playing loudly (think monk chants if you aren't familiar). The gravy? Silky, savory, and generously poured, like it had something to prove. The batter was light and crispy, my mouth celebrated every gravy drenched bite. The hash browns were golden and crispy like they'd been kissed by the sun, and my two over-easy eggs were absolutely perfect, firm whites with runny yolks making a mad dash across my plate. Meanwhile, my friend ordered the chorizo chilaquiles, and from the way they were moaning across the table, I briefly considered calling HR. Or was that him? Who knows...Spicy, crunchy, balanced; basically a flavor mosh pit in the best way. The vibe is chill, the service is friendly, and the food? Divine. I left full, happy, and considering legally changing my last name to "Gravy." Come here for the food, but stay for the...well...food. Yeah, it was THAT good.

The space is actually one of their biggest strengths there's a lot of seating, plenty of room to bring your laptop and work remotely, and areas where people can gather. It's also connected to a church, so it definitely leans into that community-centered atmosphere. Unfortunately, after going back 3-4 times hoping my experience would improve, the coffee has been consistently disappointing. It tastes burnt and weak at the same time like warm water with sugar. There barely seems to be any real espresso in the drinks. On more than one occasion, I've taken several sips hoping it would get better... and ended up throwing the whole drink away because it was just that bad. That's honestly frustrating, especially when you're paying for specialty coffee. The only drink I've actually enjoyed there is the pumpkin spice latte, that one was solid.

Good sure, but I can't really describe how it is unique. The baklava, certainly, provided this rich information. Compared to other baklavas it was drier and crunchier in a way that was satisfying and light. I would prefer to eat this baklava if I was watching my sugar and calories, which coincidently I currently am. Other baklavas are more decadent and syrup/sugar heavy. I was left with a want for more out of how light and delicious they are. I hope to try their cake offerings soon!
