After a real long day I wanted a real good meal! I wanted a meal that would quench my thirst and my appetite. Service was OK we went through the drive-through window. The ambience seemed to be nice it was rather late at night so nobody was really there. I got the number 10 meal I have never been so just satisfied in my entire life! I am an avid foodie! I'm also a taste tester. I was in the mood for the chicken sandwich my mouth was watering, my lips were quivering, my tongue was waiting... I took my chicken sandwich out of it encasement I opened my mouth to take the first bite feeling the drool come out of my cheek... Ouch!! I couldn't even get my teeth through the bread it was so stale. So I ripped off a piece of the sandwich she won and it was like shoe leather! I then dissected the chicken sandwich I pulled the chicken out and I will tell you it was the most pathetic piece of chicken I've ever seen in my whole time of eating at restaurants. It was approximately an eighth of an inch thick if that. It looks like it has been pounded for a lifetime it was so flat, so ugly, the best way to describe it was shoe leather! I am so sad I will not be eating at this establishment any longer. I am going to call the management here in a half an hour and see if they will replace my meal. If they replace my meal I'll come back and write a better review. If they don't replace my meal and I get hassled I will no longer be a customer of sonic nor will my friends and family! Shame shame shame on you for producing such a terrible sandwich! The tater tots with Gracie and they tasted like old oil. I'm really hoping you do right by me... Don't go past 8 pm here. The parking was empty, no one was ahead of us in the drive thru line but still had to wait over 5 minutes for the guy to start taking our order. He was definitely on some kind of drug because of the way he was responding. Ordered 1 hot dog and wings. Got a hotdog and wings, no bag no napkin no condiments, NOTHING. Just came from Sonic and was pleasantly surprised by the food. Tater tots were nice and crispy, mozzarella sticks were melted goodness, and the Oreos shake was delish! We ordered a bunch of food for party of 7 and everything was yummy. But honestly, the food was made that much better by the amazing service! From the the person who took our order, Daniel checking up on us while waiting, and the gentleman who delivered our food - great customer care! The person who took our order reworked it to save us money by putting our separate orders into value saving combos. Daniel provided on-point drink recommendations, and the delivery person reviewed our order with us and went back and forth to correct a drink error and get us condiments. I know we're in a pandemic but I've been holding off on writing this for over 6 months now.... this is ridiculous and putting the staff through this is sad. I've never seen a manager here, it's like these young high schoolers are running the place. wait 45 minutes or more each time no matter what time of the day. some days it's closed and I'm pretty sure it's because someone quit and just never showed up to open the restaurant. my sister got a Oreo cheesecake shake tonight (the one she always gets) and the whole thing smelled DISGUSTING and she said it tasted sour. it's always sloppy work and honestly should just close down. read more

Honestly very disappointed. I did a mobile order and when I got in the app wasn't functioning properly, not a big deal. I spoke to one of the associates via on of the car booths. She assured me that it would be out shortly. 20 minutes passed so I decided to ring them again, hey what's going on? They had no knowledge of my order, I tell them my order number and look at that they found it. So now I have to wait another 12 minutes since I guess they lost my order? Ok food comes out and now you've forgotten one of my sides of my order so I have to wait for you to cook my side and bring it out again? Now the other food is getting cold. Used to be a pretty decent location, but things have changed. They more or less close up the stalls any time they please, resulting in a drive thru line at peak times that's insanely long. If I'm going to have to sit there for twenty or more minutes I'd at least like to park my car. Also, it seems like employees don't know Jack about their own product. Stopped by one night for a watermelon slush, dude says they are out (again, peak hours, crowded lot, nothing open but the drive thru). Stopped by again a couple nights later and asked if they'd replenished (this time we sat in the stall for easily ten minutes with zero response as to whether they were open or not, and it was again peak hours. When I read a poor review aloud while waiting that recommended we go elsewhere I went to start up my car and said "I think we will go somewhere else." All of the sudden dude says "oh sorry about that what can I get you?" Um... What? Do you guys just sit there listening and waiting to see how long it takes for people to decide to leave??). Same dude says they discontinued it. Wtf didn't they tell us that last time? In any case, crap service or not we won't be back. On 08/10/18 at 1045pm, My family and I always enjoy Sonic Restaurants whether in Arizona or at California locations. Tonight we drove to the Costa Mesa location and all the vehicle stalls to order were full and the drive thru was packed, which is good for Sonic. We parked and walked to the walk up order screen, an employee exited and told us that they are not taking orders from the walk up or vehicle stalls because they are short-staffed. She said only the drive-thru is available to order food. The employee was rude when she told us we could not order outside even though the "dining area" does not close until midnight. We advised her that our nephew who is diabetic and had just given himself his insulin shot and needed to eat within 10 minutes. The employee did not have to, but she agreed to take our order via the walk up menu screen. We really appreciated the kind gesture because others were turned away. The food and slushees were outstanding like always. Management needs to ensure their is sufficient staffing on busy Friday and Saturday nights. read more

First time here and it was AMAZING! Fast service and I mean FAST! the food was great and very filling. I don't get full too fast from food at drive thrus but Sonic definitely DID THAT for me and that's saying a lot as a big and tall Samoan guy lol their customer service is EXCELLENT it's what we need more of when we go places to eat out with our families. Customer service is big for me so if your food sucks but your customer service was amazing I'd give 3 maybe 4 stars but this Sonic location had BOTH. My Wife and I will definitely be back THANKS for making our first experience at Sonic a great one guys! Keep up the great work. read more

There are all of these Sonic commercials on T.V. but there isn't a Sonic located anywhere in L.A. At least not yet. But with all of the commercials, I decided I wanted to try it out. The closest one to me was this one on Harbor Blvd. So I went. Fun Place. You park your car, order from the menu next to your parking space, and pay with your credit or ATM card. The Car-Hop then roller skates your food to you. It reminds me of when I was a kid a there were still a few reaming places like this where they used to bring your food to you and hang a tray on your car window. All Good. This is not gourmet food. It is fast food. But, it is very good fast food. If you want to step back in time and eat a fun lunch or dinner I recommended this place. read more

We tried hot dogs today. I got the Cheesy Bacon Pretzel Dog and hubby got the Chicago Dog. I didn't care for the pretzel bun; it didn't add anything to it, in fact, the extra breadiness of the bun detracted from the taste of the wiener. The Chicago Dog I would not order, at least not with all that sweet relish. The Hot Fudge Milkshake is what redeemed this Sonic trip. Yummy and chocolately and oh so pretty with that cherry on top. I received a Sonic Text that declared, "50 cents for grilled cheese must mention limit 5 today only" The sandwich which we ordered was basically 2 pieces of bread with some kind of process cheese in-between. Not grilled, no flavor, very dry, on stale bread, and it does not resemble anything like the advertised photo of the product. Really??? Why bother send us the text if your advertised food doesn't resemble the description, taste, or the photos. This is just horrible food that we could have easily made at home for the fraction of the cost. :) FIrstly, it made me really happy that they've got smilies everywhere. I wanted to take a picture of the Smile Tray, but the girl left before I could (it's the tray they bring condiments out on). The first time I'd had Sonic was back on the east coast in Florida with my cousin when I was but 10 years of age. I fell in love with their tots, for whatever reason. When I'd come back to California, I was disappointed to learn that we only had 2 in the area; one on Fairview/MacArthur, and the other on Lemon/Orangethorpe (though I learned after I'd moved to Anaheim that they've quite a few more up there). Anyway, I was VERY happy driving to school one day to see that this establishment was under construction. How I missed the make-it-your-way type drinks, the crushed ice that they used, and of course, their tots! I came here one night with a buddy of mine and ordered the kids' meal (I don't eat too much). I happily ate my tots and enjoyed my T-Rex Dino Tot (it was the toy promotion they had going on at the time). Great service, good food, decent prices, and I love the concept of a drive-in restaurant. If I was willing to trek down 30 minutes to the one in Brea, then I sure as hell am willing to come across the street from school to grab a bite here. :D Brings back memories. read more

So at 11:45 pm their restrooms are "closed". Then after waiting 10 minutes at their stall I'm finally told the "stalls are full" and to go into the drive they that has since added 5 cars. Just came in for a quick bite. There were three of us. Two of us got out orders wrong, wrong drinks, and no condiments. Once the correct food came out, I opened my burrito to add some salsa, to discover a long black hair. Knocked on the door to complain, the employees immediately scattered like scalded cats. Once they realized I was not leaving, they asked what was wrong. After about ten minutes they came out with my refund and with a "sorry". Never got asked if I wanted it remade. Never coming back. Every time I come to Sonic i try to get a few different items to try out just to see if it's good. I find 1 or 2 items to be a huge let down. The wings and mozzarella cheese sticks were a huge let down, the wings sauce tasted awful and the fire sticks were not melted. Horrible service waited 50 mins for them to tell us the order didn't go through. We are never going to a Sonic after this. Horrible customer service. We had put the order in and they told us to wait. We waited for 15 mins and then we had to push the button again to put our order in. They take our order. We pay with the credit card and wait. The green light on the card machine stopped flashing so we thought the order went through. Well the order didn't go through. I wish they at least would have told us. Why do I keep going back here? Well, the tots are good at least. I really think they should find some employees who enjoy their job, hire some eager 16 year olds or something.. the crowd working tonight was dull, the girl taking our order sounded so monotone, I thought she was going to fall asleep. (It was only 8pm!) Then we pull up to the window and this girl was quick to hand us our milkshakes and send us off, turning her back to us, forgetting our food. I wasn't going to miss out on my tots. So we nicely remind her there's order and AGAIN, this girl turns her back to us before we can even ask for ketchup! Then on top of the poor customer service, they always mess up my drink orders. I order from the menu, nothing special- This time it was really poor food quality- the Oreos in my milkshake tasted like water crackers you would take at communion. It would've been better if they were stale, at least they might have some sort of chocolate flavor. The consistency was like Cocoa Puffs that had been left in milk for too long.. I only got to have a few sips of vanilla milkshake until I encountered my first gulp of this odd add-in that definitely wasn't Oreo, and definitely wasn't good. Was forced to use drive-thru, even though we saw people getting served. Cheese burger came without catch-up. Grilled chicken sandwich was really overcooked and dry.
