It was poorly packaged and our three orders got mixed up thanks to scott who was also very rude and short with us . whilst taking the order he had an attitude and seemed to be rushing us. As someone who had never been to a sonic before i ordered a blue slushie thinking it would be easy as most places have a blue coloured slushie. He said very rudely blue is not a flavor. This is the most disgusting, disrespectful, food place that I have ever been to. I have never been so disrespected as a customer in my entire life than at this sonic. I started inside and they told me I had to go outside to order because they didn't want to have to "clean the inside again" so I went outside to order and then they proceeded to tell me I could not use my card, after they told me inside I could use it outside. So I got cash, ordered my food and asked the employee if I could get a straw and a fork because I did not get one and she said I'm sorry I don't have the time to go back inside again so I said what am I supposed to do and she said "usually people leave with this food at this point" excuse me?? It's her job to get me what I need to eat, I am parked in the places where you stay and eat your food and she's telling me to leave so she doesn't have to go inside for me again? You would think the manager would be upset over her saying that but when I went inside to get the things myself the manager told me that there's no way that her employee would say that and continue to raise her voice at me. Decent variety of food for a fast food place. Open 24 hours which is a huge plus for anything in New England. Service is usually good but sometimes the mainly teenage crew make mistakes but they have always been friendly. Their drinks are definitely the highlight of the menu - but dont forget a corn dog! My first and last time at this place. Wow my order was missing two items from my meal. I brought it up to the girl inside and she contradicted me 3 times about my missing items. I asked her to please refund me back for the order and she can keep it. She acted like she didn't care or didn't understand what I was saying. After flying for 8 hours i was just really thirsty and needed a drink. I asked my daughter to stop and i would buy my favorite drink, cranberry limeade cut in half with unsweet tea. I have bought this drink in 5 other states. After trying to tell the girl who did not speak English through the speaker came out. Normally in my state this drink is just under $3. This location $4.19. They still didnt know how to make it and i even pointed out on their own menu that cranberry limeades are their own signature drinks. No need to upcharge. we finally managed to come by when they weren't all that busy. So we ended up getting a stall within 10 minutes. I love that you can take all the time you need to decide what you want and then push the big red button that signals you are ready to order. The selection is pretty large. There are the basic burgers and fries and then your chicken options. Even a BLT. Took us a while to figure out what we wanted to drink...soda, limeade, slushes. And then what flavor we wanted. Dessert selection was large as well. And we waited until we finished our food to decide upon dessert and hit the big red button again. This review is for the day after their grand opening, still packed as hell but got hot food! After waiting 1hr and 45 minutes in the drive-thru line I got my supersonic cheeseburger, footlong coney dog, chili cheese tots, onion rings, popcorn chicken, and m&m sonic blaster... The food was hot surprisingly, contrary to everyone else's reviews, and the food was delicious and fresh. The burger was comparable to the quality of wendy's but tasted much fresher. The coney dog was nothing to write home about, it was a swine dog, not all beef. Tots were crispy and delicious with the chili cheese on top. The onion rings were sweet and perfectly battered compared to other fast food chain rings that suck (wendys and bk). The popcorn chicken was horendous with no flavor and too much batter. And finally the M&M blaster tasted just like a mcflurry from mcdyz. If you live in the north shore go for the different experience that we don't have up here in the northeast. So much to complain about with so few characters. My buddies and I pulled into a parking spot with a menu button, and once we were ready to order we pressed it at least a dozen times with no response. After this minor inconvenience, we decided to just go into the drive-thru. It was unclear when we supposed to order, as when we pulled up we were not greeted, and when we finally said "hello?" the lady replied telling us one moment, and proceeded to make us wait 3 minutes. She "couldn't hear us" even though we spoke loudly and clearly, and we had to repeat ourselves a couple of times. When we got our food, we were discouraged to find out that our entire order was doubled. The food was mediocre at best, as the corn dogs were slimy and the fries were soggy. And worst of all, my blue raspberry slushie, which I ordered with Nerds™, had 0 sign of Nerds™!!!! Sonic does a great job of taking something as mundane as burgers and fries and turning it into a nostalgic drive-in experience. My daughter and I decided to take a lunch road trip to Sonic on a drizzly, cold, Sunday afternoon and we were not disappointed. There was a bit of a wait but we were ushered into a spot quickly enough. We used the super cool menu board to decide on what we wanted and even to pay for everything. Mere minutes later our roller-skating server swooshed right to our car window with food in hand. Blue fruity drinks, tater-tots, and greasy burgers galore. We never felt rushed and enjoyed people watching while we ate. The food was not the greatest that either of us had ever tasted, but it was certainly better than the big 3 (McD's, BK, Wendy's) and absolutely good enough to make us want to come back. What would make it better? Not much, but if they were serving In-N-Out burgers, I might consider pulling up in a motorhome and never leaving. read more

My gf and I came here for our first (and last) time and ordered a cheese burger, chicken tenders, with fries provided with our orders. I think it is normal business now. It is fun to eat at a drive in. My wife loves the frozen lemonade, so if we pass by here, we stop! I have to agree - they are good. After being tormented by Sonic commercials with no Sonic in driving distance for years, I was SO excited to experience the roller skating magic myself. So when my husband and I pulled up on Sunday morning for breakfast, I was practically giddy with excitement. The roller skating waiters were the best part. It was all downhill from there. The food was greasy. And not greasy-delicious like normal fast food. Greasy, sit in your stomach all day make you want to vomit greasy. Those cute little trays you see on the commercial are not actually attached to your car. That was the first bummer. And the food isn't really designed to eat in the car, so it's a bit of a balancing act. The diet cherry limeade was sweet. Call your dentist and have your cavities filled tomorrow sweet. I had the french toast sticks which I did not finish because they tasted like fried bricks of lard. The french fries were soggy and not at all appetizing. To really top off the experience, one of the bathrooms was broken and there was a crazy line for the one working bathroom. Gross. Maybe I'd eat here again at 1am. I'm not sure what all the hype was about when this place opened awhile back. I figured the hype had to have died down and there'd be no more crowds, and I was right. It was lunchtime on a weekday in October 2012 and there wasn't even anyone else in the drive thru. I had my first fast food burger in 20 years, maybe longer. I'm not sure what caused me to break the run I was having; maybe I felt hurried by the new menu :) Anyway, I had a burger, taters and a soda. Not bad, not great. It did reaffirm my hatred of Route 1 though. What a pain that road is. Malfunctioning ordering machines, credit card rejections, understaffed location = FAIL. There was only one serving girl for the entire dining area (seated and cars). Yes, I know it's a busy location, being off Route 1 and all, but seriously? It took at least 10-15 minutes per order to come out. Mind you, this is FAST FOOD we're talking about here. Because the seating area ordering machine wasn't working properly (both speakers were malfunctioning), we tried ordering through the drive-thru lane. THAT was a fail, too, since the line was about 10 cars deep. We went to Wendy's next door, ordered, came back, and the line hadn't moved. Oh, even better - it took them 3 tries to get a friend's order right. Not sure if his order fell on deaf/hard of hearing ears or what, but that's pretty bad, even for a fast food place. Mmm tater tots! I've had Sonic once before, but this time it was soooo much better. The boy and I went late last night and luckily, we were the last car they let in before closing off Route 1. Score! Then we were directed around to Dearborn St. and sent in the back way. We were in a stall in less than 5 minutes. Thank you officers! It took a bit of time to get our order taken after we pushed that happy red button, but it didn't matter. That gave me some time to decide to add mozzarella sticks to my order. What a good decision! I had a burger, which was blah. Tater tots which were awesome. And the mozzarella sticks which were to die for. I washed it all down with a icey cold original lime aid. Mmm heaven. I have been to Sonic a bunch of times because it's different and on the way back from the beaches. Ordering from the car is cool especially when the servers roller skate out to you but I'm not a fan of eating in my car so definitely go to the tables unless you want your car smelling like fast food...and if you like to eat off your lap. At the tables, you order through the intercom and it's fun since they ask for your name and yesterday my friends used "Snooky" so when the server came out yelling "Snooky!" it was pretty funny. The only bad thing about the intercom is that it can be hard for the order taker to hear what you are ordering and my friends have experienced the wrong orders coming out to them a few times. You can pay by cash or credit. You just give it to the server when they come out to you. My favorite menu item is the mozzarella sticks and ched 'r' pepper. Those are delishhhhh! The burgers themselves are okay but Mickey D's, BK, and Wendy's beat Sonic burgers anyday. My little brother had the Jr. Cheeseburger and that was pretty gross..He couldn't finish it. I had the Grilled Chicken Burger and it was pretty bland. It came on a wheat bun...pretty gross for me trying to eat "healthy." The drinks are probably the most popular item at Sonic and why people go there at all. The sonic blasts are pretty bomb...similar to a Mcflurry. Sonic is a good place to go if you got the munchies but you are definitely better off somewhere else. I give it 3 stars because no other fast food places have mozzarella sticks and they are so yum at Sonic. read more

I love the idea of Sonic - driving into a parking space, having people in roller skates come out to take your order, and eating in your car. It gives off an oldie vibe. However, it's cool and amazing the first couple times you come here. But then it gets boring because you realize that the food is okay and the experience is getting not-so-interesting anymore. That's how I feel about Sonic. Plus, it's at least an hour ride from my place, so it's not really worth the trip anymore. I definitely recommend coming here for the experience though because it is really cool. read more

Since we really wanted to try the food, we managed to figure out our way to the parking lot and walked up to place our order. This place is chaos. There was no rhyme or reason to the set up of this place. We had to tell several people that they were cutting us in line. And, like a few other people mentioned here, our names were mixed up with our order. We ordered the corn dogs, the chili cheese tots, cherry limeade and ocean water. It was all delicious and we were regretting that we didn't splurge and just indulge on 1,000+ calories that AM. Overall, the food was good but it's too much of a hassle. ABYSMAL service and wait times. Staffed by a rude bunch of teenage dredges, be prepared for heaping servings of attitude after sitting in your car in the drive thru for 20-40 mins. And I'm not talking huge lines. Try 2 cars ahead of you. It takes them at least 10 mins per car from the order screen. That's unacceptable in the world of fast food. Service at the window has been so poor that we've actually had to call their customer service line (I don't think we've ever done that with any other establishment). During our last visit, all we ordered was a large orange cream slush no whipped cream and a bottled water. 20 mins later we get a slush that has all black stuff inside the rim of the lid. After trying to get the teller's attention (or the other 4 idiots milling around in there), the teller has the audacity to argue that its part of the slush!! Black crud! At that point we just wanted our money back - no slush - and to just go home. The supervisor (another teenager) was trying to get out of giving our money back (we didn't even want the drink) saying they can't refund credit cards - we paid cash which was right on the receipt, so that was shady business right there, too. We finally did get our cash back for the slush (along with plenty of attitude), but man, every time we go it's something. This experience was the last straw, and we are never going back. It's too bad because we love the slushes and limeades. Any other eating establishment has no problem righting a mistake - they happen, I understand that. Apparently customer service is not one of Sonic's tenets. The manager/owner of this establishment needs to step in and take a closer look at what's going on at this location. Look at all your recent 1 and 2 star reviews! Service is your number one problem and customers will only take so much abuse. Don't let this lazy staff ruin your business. read more

Went with Becca P. to Sonic for the first time ever. After all the hype and me taking my time with getting to Sonic, I am so glad that I did not rush to wait in line for hours when this place first opened. The intercom is loud and scary, and honestly, its just an awful form of communication when you're standing half a foot away. They got my name wrong even though I said 'Amy' three times into the intercom. The server on rollerblades had my name down as "Lamey" (LOL) and was embarrassed to call it out so she yelled out my order instead. As for the food - crispy chicken burger was bland and dry. The fries weren't seasoned. My strawberry limeade was okay. I liked that they had so many flavors/combos for each one of their drinks. Like Becca P., the only thing I enjoyed were the mozzarella sticks because I love mozzarella sticks. I thought it was actually kinda pricey for the quality of food I received. But it's fast food so I suppose what Sonic ended up being was appropriate. I don't think I'll go back to Sonic. Well. Standard fast food. Un-standard (to a Californian) drive in experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is kind of underwhelming. In-N-Out tastes way better (yeah I feel the hate now). I can't believe this place still has lines!!!!! It was mostly hype, sad to say. After years of those taunting ads a friend and I made the trek out to Peabody to experience Sonic about two weeks after the grand opening. We waited. And waited. And waited. Finally we get to the front of the line. I had a chicken sandwich on Texas toast with tots. This was very run-of-the-mill fast food. Not horrible, and would've been worth it had it actually been *fast*. If I lived closer and the lines disappeared, I'd probably pick this over McD's or BK. The drinks are really the best part. Shoestring fries, delicious burgers and tons of choices for drinks. Milkshakes and sundaes are the best. Tried the chili cheese tots and they were amazing! Everything is cooked to order. Drive up, press the button, place your order and its brought out to you on someone with roller skates. After spending a considerable amount of time in both Kansas and Florida, I can accurately give a review for Sonic's first New England venture. This one still needs a lot of refining to compare the ones found in other parts of the country. If you plan on visiting, be prepared to spend a long time waiting if you are going during peak times or on weekends. The lines for both the stalls and drive-thru crawl at a very slow pace. Until additional Sonics are built in the area, this will seem to be the norm for the present time. The design of the stalls doesn't help either. It should have been built with additional stalls. Like all other Sonics, the food is marginal with the exception to the mixed soft-drinks and desserts. Worth the experience, not worth the wait... read more

It is what it is. We got fast and ok service. The order was correct. But really the only things that Sonic does exceptionally well is the tater tots and the cherry limeade. The onion ring batter is sweet like cake for some reason and the rest of the food is average for a fast food joint. read more
