I love a place that gives gator tots as an option. Despite many bad reviews here, I love their food. Never had their hotdogs, but I've had the burgers, tots, and slushies!!! When I usually stop at sonics, it's for the slushies. Especially during their happy hour! The lime cherry is the bomb, and nerds added is also a plus. =) The strawberry limeade was refreshing and makes my mouth water just thinking of it. It's a delicious beverage and you must give it a try. The service has been good and I've gotten good service the times I've gone. My family and I Sonic yesterday and had a fantastic experience; while the wait was a little longer than I expected, I was almost overwhelmed with how friendly the service was. We were served by Noah, and we felt like we were dining in an actual restaurant. He checked in on us 3 times, offering us sauces, and even bringing out new drinks when our Coke tasted a little off. Service needs improvement we waited 27 minutes and no one took our order. It was around 9:30-10 and we went through the drive through. We pulled up to order and waited about 7 minutes then drove to the window thinking maybe it was broken the we told the woman working the window that we tried to order but no one was responding and she sighed and said just go wait at one of the parking spots and order there then and we asked if we could just order at the window and she she said no. We pulled up to the parking spot and pressed the order button. One car went both the drive through. Then another. We waited 15 minutes pressing the button twice and 7 cars went through the drive through. Are you joking? Keeping in mind the workers were sitting on the table outside. I remember when they used to provide service with a smile. Last time we visited them a lot of the staff were wearing frowns. We've had better food and a better experience at some of their competitors. Might give them a 3-Star if they brought the Chicken-Fried Steak Sandwich to their menu. Just left Sonic's in Santee. Husband ordered a #3 (double cheeseburger) combo w/ tater tots, a corn dog and more tater tots. We received two individually wrapped single cheeseburgers and both tater tot orders were cold as were the burgers as if they were made earlier and been sitting under a heat lamp. My husband took two bites of one the burgers and didn't finish it, two bites of his tater tots and threw them out as well. Needless to say, not returning. read more

Here's the thing: I've been here when it's busy and I have been there when it's nobody in line at the drive thru, and I've had the same experience every time. They always mess up my order. Every. Flipping. Time. Here's the thing, it's not too complicated I just want a chocolate shake with brownie and cookie dough. I'm willing to pay extra, so price isn't an issue. But every time I get my drink back. It's a completely other drink, or maybe it's missing an element or it's the wrong size. Like, I've literally had the worst luck with this place. I will also mention, it looks like it's run by high schoolers. So there isn't much regard for professionalism or cleanliness inside. Terrible service. They just go by you and dont even tell you if it stall is working. We ended up having to Flag someone down to take our order and she was aware our stall didnt work. So why no sign? I left a review that was not positive a couple years ago. Due to a long wait and a mistake made on the order however I feel the need to come back and update my review. I've since been back to this sonic many times. I always use the app and I always get great service and usually pretty quick and accurate. My first review is not representative of most of my experience. We all have an off day and that must have been one of them. Love the app!! The only thing I wish is that it allowed the user to add a tip. I use the app because I don't often carry cash and would like to reward good service more often. Shake selection is good. Good choice for shakes. Ordered onion rings as well as some sort of grilled cheese/hamburger sandwich. Pretty low-budget food here. Onion rings were inedible. Tasted like dust, no flavor whatsoever. Save yourself the calories and pass on these or head to The Habit instead. And lastly, the mobile ordering is very unorganized. Asks you to pull in to a space and denote your number, however, all of the spaces are blocked off with orange cones so you're left trying to find somewhere to park and then walking up to acquire your order. Ordered my family and I some food. It was a basic order just a couple bacon cheeseburgers, large tots, large mozzarella sticks and a slush. Instead we received one really tiny chicken sandwich that was covered in pickles, a jalapeño burger, small mozzarella sticks that have no cheese in them but somehow have cheese sprinkled on the outside of one stick, tiny tots, fries and 2 corndogs with no drink and 10 sauce packets. Blech. Next time I'll stick to In-N-Out Burger like some of the other Yelpers who feel the same way I do about this overrated place. It took us several different trips for us to try to get squeezed into this drive in. The first time we came was for the grand opening. We took one look at the line that spilled out onto the side street and said, "forget it!!" Then we tried to come back at odd hours of the day/week where we figured people would be at work in hopes of a shorter line or none at all. Still no cigar. You can only imagine the eager anticipation we had because of all the hype that surrounded this joint and because of all our failed attempts at getting in....boy was our excitement short-lived. The girl on end of the speakerbox was rude and rushed us through our order, then screwed it up in the end. Our food looked a mess, chili was everywhere but on the coney, the Toaster bacon cheeseburger was just ok and the tater tots had seen better days.
