Sonic was better in my memory. I paid $19 for a large double bacon cheeseburger combo. Instead I got a single hamburger very disappointed

No idea how this place is still in business. Every time we give it a try, they let us down. This Sunday they were out of chili so instead of tots or dogs we ordered pretzels. Got to the window after almost 30 minutes just for them to tells us there was no cheese. Yes, I get it, first world problems but their lack of communication is ridiculous. When we got to the window we heard the people in the back joking about who's fault it was that a car got tired of waiting on their food and drove off. It's always a horrible experience. read more

I love a place that gives gator tots as an option. Despite many bad reviews here, I love their food. Never had their hotdogs, but I've had the burgers, tots, and slushies!!! When I usually stop at sonics, it's for the slushies. Especially during their happy hour! The lime cherry is the bomb, and nerds added is also a plus. =) The strawberry limeade was refreshing and makes my mouth water just thinking of it. It's a delicious beverage and you must give it a try. The service has been good and I've gotten good service the times I've gone. I remember when they used to provide service with a smile. Last time we visited them a lot of the staff were wearing frowns. We've had better food and a better experience at some of their competitors. Might give them a 3-Star if they brought the Chicken-Fried Steak Sandwich to their menu. Other franchises in other regions offer that menu item and it's a big hit. The cherry lime-aides are tasty... even though you're paying mostly for a glass of crushed ice. I ordered $37.00 worth of food, waited a long time to get it and when I got home, I discovered I did not get what I ordered. The bacon cheeseburger had no bacon. The double burger only had a single patty. The tots contained about 25% fries. The burgers were cold and disgusting. I tried calling the number to the store. No Answer. This place has very bad service and they need to pay more attention to people who have online orders through the delivery apps. I am normally the type to order my food like plain and then just get sauces on the side to dip my food in, I got food from here and I asked for 5 ranches , and I didn't receive not one single sauce. Like okay I get it if you're not gonna give me 5 of them but hey at least give me 1-2 instead of just ignoring my whole request for sauce all together. Terrible service. They just go by you and dont even tell you if it stall is working. We ended up having to Flag someone down to take our order and she was aware our stall didnt work. So why no sign? If the employees know. She rushed us taking our order. The burger was not good it tasted off but i was pretty hungry. I definitely have food poisoning ive been sick all night and that was all i ate yesterday. I couldn't even go to work. Someone needs to go in and make sure they're following guidelines because im still sick. I probably will have to miss work tomorrow too. Just left Sonic's in Santee. Husband ordered a #3 (double cheeseburger) combo w/ tater tots, a corn dog and more tater tots. We received two individually wrapped single cheeseburgers and both tater tot orders were cold as were the burgers as if they were made earlier and been sitting under a heat lamp. My husband took two bites of one the burgers and didn't finish it, two bites of his tater tots and threw them out as well. Needless to say, not returning. read more

Here's the thing: I've been here when it's busy and I have been there when it's nobody in line at the drive thru, and I've had the same experience every time. They always mess up my order. Every. Flipping. Time. Here's the thing, it's not too complicated I just want a chocolate shake with brownie and cookie dough. I'm willing to pay extra, so price isn't an issue. But every time I get my drink back. It's a completely other drink, or maybe it's missing an element or it's the wrong size. Like, I've literally had the worst luck with this place. I will also mention, it looks like it's run by high schoolers. So there isn't much regard for professionalism or cleanliness inside. (You can see trash on the floor on the inside from your car in the drive thru). I come back because it's conveniently located down the street from me. But when I come, it's pretty much safe to say, they will mess up my drink-it's just a question of how they'll do it. read more

I usually have no problem with this location compared to other locations but got to say kind of disappointed in my food tonight! Ordered honey bbq popcorn chicken no sauce. I left a review that was not positive a couple years ago. Due to a long wait and a mistake made on the order however I feel the need to come back and update my review. I've since been back to this sonic many times. I always use the app and I always get great service and usually pretty quick and accurate. My first review is not representative of most of my experience. We all have an off day and that must have been one of them. Love the app!! The only thing I wish is that it allowed the user to add a tip. I use the app because I don't often carry cash and would like to reward good service more often. We love the drinks/ ice cream and my kids love the grilled cheese and corn dogs. read more

OMG! What a shit show! Teenagers running a popular place.. I've lived in Santee 30 years and never went here.. We went there and it was a disaster! Food was disgusting! 16 yr old kid handed me my pathetic small portion at almost 10 bucks and dropped it on the street at the drive through... The guy taking my order was short and annoyed by my asking questions.. This is was the most pathetic experience in years here in Santee. Where are the adults running this place thats so popular? Shake selection is good. Good choice for shakes. Ordered onion rings as well as some sort of grilled cheese/hamburger sandwich. Pretty low-budget food here. Onion rings were inedible. Tasted like dust, no flavor whatsoever. Save yourself the calories and pass on these or head to The Habit instead. And lastly, the mobile ordering is very unorganized. Asks you to pull in to a space and denote your number, however, all of the spaces are blocked off with orange cones so you're left trying to find somewhere to park and then walking up to acquire your order. Came to Sonic for dinner last night and went through the drive thru. The line was short but yet it still took forever to receive our food! I watched as the cars behind me left one by one due to the slowness. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo with fries. My boyfriend ordered the chicken strips combo meal with tots and a Chicago dog. We got home only to find that even after waiting in line all that time, they still managed to screw up our order. Instead they gave my bf a corn dog and 2 other types of hot dogs. Absolutely awful experience. We were left waiting nearly thirty minutes for cold food and a wrong order. Staff is appallingly rude to customers and I watched one dude chat with his girlfriend for fifteen minutes instead of bringing out my food and then try to tell me how he was way too busy to bring out my order. the service is extremely slow, expect to wait a few minute even if there is one person in front of you. also, we have been a few times, and this most recent time all three of us ordering got custom drinks with syrups and fruits. they did not add any of the syrups or fruits but they still charged us all for them. very disappointing since i paid like 3 extra dollars just to get a (watery) large dr pepper... that said, the employees themselves are very nice and im sure they are just overworked because they work at sonic. read more

Ordered my family and I some food. It was a basic order just a couple bacon cheeseburgers, large tots, large mozzarella sticks and a slush. Instead we received one really tiny chicken sandwich that was covered in pickles, a jalapeño burger, small mozzarella sticks that have no cheese in them but somehow have cheese sprinkled on the outside of one stick, tiny tots, fries and 2 corndogs with no drink and 10 sauce packets. Hands down worst fast food I have ever had! Fries were obviously reheated 2-3 times, salted 2-3 times, stale and just downright not worth it! I went to this Sonic about midnight. I pulled up to the drive-thru teller and waited for a few minutes to be greeted but was never greeted. I said hello a few times into the teller but there was no answer. So I drove off and pulled into one of the stalls and hit the red button to order. I was told that they're no longer doing car hops and that I would have to go through the drive-thru. I told the guy that I was just at the drive-thru and there was no answer. He said the sensor must not have recognized my car and that I would have to go through the drive-thru. So I pull out of the stall and into the drive-thru to the end of a long line of cars that was now in the drive-thru line. I downloaded the app and figured I'd order online while I was waiting in line. I was unable to order online because rge app said tge restaurant was closed when in fact it was open. Once the car in front of me gets to the teller she has the same problem I previously had, there was no answer and the teller did not sense her car. She finally gave up after a few minutes and drove off. So I pulled forward to the teller and the same thing happened to me again, there was no answer. But I wasn't going to pull off again, not without calling first. So I called the restaurant from the teller and the phone rang and rang and rang. It finally went to voicemail so I just hung up and called again. Again it rang and rang but this time they finally answered the phone. I explained how I was at the drive thru teller and there was no answer. They already realized there was a problem with their drive-thru sensor and said OK, but didn't tell me they'd contact me at tbe teller. I heard this greeting come through the teller so I placed my order. The menu was a little hard to see because it's not as close to the teller as it should be. I ordered and pulled up to the window. It took a while for me to get my food, so I'd say the drive thru is slow at midnight on Saturday night. The order was accurate but I still had an unpleasant experience. And to top it off, the lid from my shake popped off and caused a mess in my car. The same thing happened the other night too. So those lids for the shakes suck pretty bad. Beware cause they may pop off and you'll have a mess everywhere. read more

We have been to this Sonic several times. 1. They are alway so slow 2. My order has NEVER been right 3. No one ever reaches out when you have a complaint 4. The kid we had today was very pleasant, although he told us he would have been out a lot sooner with our order, but he had to help a new hire in the drive through. 5. Our food was cold, none of the extra we paid for (bacon, jalapeños) were on any of the burgers. Needs new management. We will not be returning to this Sonic! read more
