Ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions. When the order came the onions were raw and the cheeseburger was cold. The tater tots were hot and fresh unlike the burger. This was actually the first Sonic I ever went to years ago maybe in 2010 I think? It's far from where I grew up in the East Bay so I only got to try it that one time I was in the area because of the Vacaville Outlets. That time it didn't really leave a lasting impression. Fast forward to a few years later when I was living in San Diego, there was a Sonic 5 minutes away from where I lived so I frequented it at least 2 or 3 times a week! I would go late at night since I was obsessed with their chili cheese tots, and chili cheese dogs lol I hadn't had Sonic in a long time so I dragged my dad here for lunch the other day. It was the first time that I dined-in at this location and I was shocked to find that it's not like a traditional fast food inside. Upon entering, there's two menu boards on a wall and no people in sight. You press a button to talk to a person to order then they bring out your food.... It's kind of weird how they're avoiding human face-to-face interaction... yeah they bring your food out in person but it's so awkward to be in that room alone once they drop off your meal. There's only 4 tables in total I believe and when we went the place was empty. I liked the way the San Diego location was set up better, their dine-in option was just like any other fast food, there's a walk-up counter with humans taking your order. I ordered a chili cheese dog, chili cheese tots, coke and a pineapple milkshake. They were all really good! I even made a recommendation for my pregnant cousin to try the food out yesterday. Just bought four meals for almost $50. The entire order was messed up. My double quarter pounder that was supposed to have just cheese and ketchup had everything plus bacon. My single bacon cheeseburger that should have had everything had two patties and a bunch of pickles. I got (and paid for) extra fries we didn't order, and the drinks were not what we ordered and basically carbonated water. Surprised by the 1-2 star reviews cuz I've never had any problems with the Food or Service here! Used to hate seeing those funny commercials cuz it'd make me wanna hit up a Sonic, and the closest one was only in Woodland. So I was excited when Sonic first opened in Vacaville cuz really, what else is there to do in this small town but Eat and Drink right?? Sonic is more of a roll in and out kinda joint so I usually order and take off. They're open from 7am-Midnight. There's usually plenty of parking stalls available, each with a huge Menu. You can pay the Roller skate Server with Cash OR use your debit card directly at the stall. Customer service has always been great for me cuz servers are friendly, my order is accurate, and my food comes out pretty quick. Food wise, I've only had the Burgers here, which are simple but good and not too greasy. I mostly come JUST for their deliciously Crispy Tator Tots and for Slushies and Limeades during the summer cuz Drinks are HALF off between 2-5pm for their Happy Hour. You can get the Biggest size and it's only between $1-$2!! Highly recommend the Strawberry Limeade! Never had their shakes or desserts, but I've heard they're pretty tasty. Despite me being a fan of sonics as well as coming here the other week with a decent experience... Last night was just atrocious. just... ATROCIOUS. The flag that should've been thrown up before my friends and I decided to stay and eat here was an angry customer that drove 10+ miles back because he actually didn't check his food until he was miles out.. Only to find they didn't give him everything he ordered. Watching him argue with the manager on duty that night was just complete and utter BS. The manager wasn't cooperating at all and didn't budge to compensate for the mistake they made. They didn't give him any food, and if anything.. was willing to offer him something small for ANOTHER day.. Figured it was just a one-time mistake thing and the food at Sonic's is usually good, we continued to order our food. Once paid and the food came out... the onion rings were fine, the mozzarella sticks were ok... but our sandwiches/burgers.. were just.. disgusting. UTTERLY DISGUSTING. The bacon was obviously reheated, stale, and tasted like crap. It was probably something that had been sitting there all day. If i were to imagine what dog food tastes like, this would have probably been worse. One of my friends had a burger that tasted like a day-old chili dog that they tried to salvage by covering the flavor by putting too much mustard on it. First off, how does a burger taste like a chili cheese dog? I dunno, but it was just disgusting. My burger tasted fresh, like something out of Nation's burgers. We also ordered a chilli dog and a Chicago dog my wife and I shared and that was amazing too! We ordered the kids the crispy tender combo and they loved it! The signature sauce packets they give you are good too. The waitress, Arianna was real polite and sweet as well and service was VERY fast. Overall, the family was completely happy. It was kind of nice eating in the car with the family (especially considering the circumstance we are all currently in with limited dining because of this pandemic.) Me and my son have been here twice in the last month or so. Seems like a different place compared to some of the reviews I'm reading here. We ordered a bunch of stuff both times, and they got it all right. I got dogs, and my son got a hamburger last time, and dogs this time. French fries, onion rings, and my favorite: the milk shakes. Last time I got chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter. This time was chocolate, vanilla, and ... strawberry. Their milkshakes are very good tasting. The dogs and the selection of toppings you get are cool. It's fast food, so I don't expect steaks, I expect half decent tasting fast food, and that's what we've gotten both times. We'll be back.
