Sonny's is offering curbside pick up, walk in pick up and dine in at half capacity. There is a designated door IN and a designated door OUT. All YOU CAn Eat is still available, you just need to ask your server. At the hostess stand there is a poster, you can scan for the menu and it brings the menu right up on your phone. At the table your given a paper menu and specials menu. I never ever ever have an issue with the food. Fall off the bone meat, smoked for hours and hours, 4 flavors of BBQ sauce on the table, fresh fried pickles to start, cripsy crinkle fries, plenty of sides to choose from and perfectly toasted tx toast. YES!! Please. Sometimes the service is a hit or miss, sometimes they stick around too long, sometimes they don't stick around at all but they will return shortley. As long as they return in time for refills, I'm good. I watched a table being bussed. It was wiped down (the table only). So when I asked for ketchup, guess where it came from? You got it, the table that was wiped, not the condiments, just the table. Our table had all the sauces, salt and pepper on it. Was looking for good bbq while in Georgia. So i thought Sonnys would be it. But unfortunately no. The customer service was great and we were seated quickly. Our food also came out quickly, under 12 minutes which is almost too quickly for a sit down restaurant as if it wasn't prepared to ordered. I got the brisket meal ( brisket chopped) with Corn fritters and fries. My husband got the chicken and ribs combo with baked beans and toast. My first thought is that they do not smoke their meats like an authentic spot would. I know this is a chain bbq but my expectations are high in comparison to 4rivers bbq another chain ( if you ever visit Florida). I honestly dont think that meat was smoked or marinated at all. My husband ribs were yummy and tender. The sauce was yummy as well, it was a sweet bbq sauce. His baked beans were gross, it tasted like it had tomato sauce in it. His chicken was okay as well. My brisket was way to fatty and not charred enough. The texture was not good it literally tasted like i was eating meat fat (please zoom in on the picture to see the fat). My bun wasnt toasted but they put butter on it, so I could taste the butter unnecessarily. My corn fritters were pretty good and my fries were decent, but not super crispy. I went to Sonny on 10/23 ordered a chicken sandwich on garlic toast, the chicken was hard and my chicken was in a bun. I called the manager Lou told me to come back. We have loved Sonny's for years. We are, at least, bi weekly regulars. However, we have found ourselves wanting it less and less. The food is fantastic and 90% of the time hot and good quality. The part that has made us no longer want to return is the staff. Some are great, others not so much. In one month we've had one waitress who rolled her eyes everytime we spoke to her, one with dirty finger nails and wiping her nose while at our table, and today one who disappeared for 25 minutes while we waited on the check and absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. It's unfortunate that a great restaurant is being bright down by low quality service. read more

Sonnys is usually our go to, but this last visit was terrible. My sliced pork was covered in grease!! I took about 8 napkins and sopped as much as could. Not sure how the grease got in pork, supposed to be smoked. I will not be back for a while. read more

This was horrendous. We put ourselves on the waitlist, and the host seemed as if she didn't understand there was a waiting list. I must have passed this place a million times or more, I decided to stop by while picking my niece up from her Summer part time job (she actually wanted to work while up here on vacation-teens!!!), so I went through the drive-thru after seeing they offered smoked sausages. I went ahead and pulled up to the drive thru window to see the smoke sausage options. I spoke with Lucy and she showed me a menu, I also let her know that I was a first time customer and welcomed any suggestions. I decided on the sausage & ribs which came with 2 side Items and a choice of bread. Lucy threw in a beverage since it was my first visit..... she highly recommended the chicken but I was really feeling the ribs. I ordered macaroni and cheese and green beans as my side item even though I was given macaroni and cheese and baked beans instead. Everything was really good, the ribs were so tender, they slid right off the bone. The smoke sausage was extremely good and paired great with the texas toast. Lucy allowed me to try three different sauces, smokin, sweet & sizzlin sweet...All very yummy, but I was won over by the sweet. All the smoked meats were rather dry and lack flavor. The sauce was good, but didn't really stand out as spectacular either. BBQ is awesome. I usually get the pulled pork sandwich on garlic toast, fries and large sweet tea and banana pudding. It's a ton of food and it's very tasty. The fries were not that good unfortunately but the BbQ is yummy. However today I ordered and specifically told the lady at the drive through I wanted the sweet sauce. They have u sign the receipt and you can include a tip. I tipped $4 so all together it was a $20 meal. I get halfway home and realize no sauce was included. It kind of ruins the meal for me. Hopefully it won't happen again but I am kind of upset to not be able to enjoy the meal. read more

Got a lunch rib plate curbside pickup with baked beans and tater tots. All in all, everything was pretty good. Food was ready when I arrived, so there so no real wait. The ribs themselves were tasty. My favorite BBQ and the best meal we had while visiting Georgia!!!! I had the smoked wings and ribs with coleslaw, baked sweet potato and corn bread. The ribs were fall-off-meat tender and so full of flavor. My husband had the steak burger and mac and cheese- he LOVED it. One of us had the kickin chicken bowl (tenders tossed in Buffalo sauce) over mac and cheese and tater tots with bacon and ranch (my son ate it so fast, he ordered a SECOND bowl!!!) And the Sonny sampler platter had brisket, ribs, and barbecue chicken with sweet potato and mac and cheese. You have to try to the ribs. They are full of meat and so flavorful. The teas come in a massive cup (no little cups here). We are very very happy. We've been coming to this location for 23 yrs. But haven't been in a few months. I usually get sliced pork here which never disappoints. We came for lunch and this visit was terrible. The hostess seemed annoyed with us because we were having a conversation and not paying enough attention to her. Our server did not give their name and wore their name tag backwards so that the name did not show. They may have had their reasons and that was fine. The menu has changed and we we're having trouble ordering. Our confusion was obvious, but they offered no assistance. I couldn't find chicken fingers and fries on the menu for my 12yo. I asked if they had them. She said yes and I ordered them. My friend convinced me the burgers were great here. I hadn't had a burger in a while do I ordered one. I had to ask if we could choose how we wanted it cooked. The server said yes and I asked for medium as did my friend. We split an order of fries. The food came and the chicken fingers and fries was an enormous portion. The burgers looked fine. The fries for the chicken and the burgers looked... very light. They were hot but after biting into them we could tell they were not cooked enough. The burgers were a great size but so well done they were dry. They were terrible. We couldn't even finish them. The chicken fingers were fine. When the bill came we realized why the chicken fingers and fries had such a huge portion. It was a $16.99 dinner portion at 1pm for a 12yo child. The sprite for the child was $2.99. The 12yo has a $20 lunch. We also brought a couple of chicken fingers and most of the fries home. When we got home my husband saw an opportunity to eat, grabbed the leftovers, and immediately said, "Hey! These fries are raw!" We know dear. He put them in the air fryer and enjoyed them. However for $20 I'd like already cooked fries. It will be a good long while before we return, if at all. If we do, I'll be ordering pork through the drive through. read more

Being one of the first I was certain that my baby back ribs would be available and they were and did not disappoint. Very tender and the moist that full rack was devoured in minutes. This made no sense to us. We spoke with a manager that nonchalantly said the same thing, as if this happens often. If this is a policy, why isn't it posted where customers could see it? We came to sonnys 4-11-17 around 750pm because kids eat free on Tuesday and the middle child of my brood hates o Charley's. He hates o charleys because we all like it, that is his only reason for hating them. Customer service: 3 stars: our waitress was seriously lacking and I didn't appreciate the kitchen staff being ignorant and horsing around on the clock. Call me old fashion but I remember when I had a punch clock job all that bullshit and silliness was put on pause until you punched out and was on your time. Our waitress in the beginning didn't explain it would take some time for our food to come out after 15 minutes of waiting. Let's face it folks all their food is pre made so what are we waiting for again? After waiting 25 minutes she brought out our food. Mind you in those whole 25 minutes she said nothing to us. Towards the end she recovered but I've had stellar customer service from beginning to end with 30s something mexican gentleman and a 20s something AA female. So even though it's "sonny's" I still got 5 star service from them. Food: 3 stars: it was ok, not delicious but not unappetizing except for the hard ass corn muffins they had the nerve to serve me and my son. We ordered a children's pulled pork w/baked beans, a children's sliced pork w/baked beans, ayce chicken, ayce ribs, and the oldest of my brood ordered some pork sandwich. Overall it wasn't all the way bad but it wasn't their best, I've had their best and today wasn't it. Cleanliness: 4 stars: from what we saw it appeared tidy and clean no real complaints there. Price point: 3 stars: considering the youngest 2 of the brood ate for free but our check was still $56 for 3 adults and 5 soft drinks. Overall: was it worth it? I left slightly unsatisfied but none of us got sick so I can't really complain. Will I come back? Eventually if they are still open, with all the short cuts they are pulling from serving hard ass corn muffins to garlic bread on actual white bread and not Texas toast I doubt they will be in business much longer at this location smh I could give them 3 stars based upon my average but with the service and the food they deserve 2 until they improve. read more

While there are a lot of new BBQ places out there, we still prefer Sonny's BBQ. We like to get their Big Deal Meal with pulled pork, sliced pork, or brisket with a side and a drink. Their sides are very good too. Service is always great. They are handling COVID by taking some of the best precautions I've seen in restaurants. I observed them cleaning booths thoroughly between guests and the tables are spaced out appropriately. We particularly like the Cobb Parkway location, but have enjoyed other locations as well. So, food was not bad, but I my IPA tasted flat. So my reason for the low rating is attributed to the manager's horrible attitude. When I ordered my food, I asked the waitress about the "big deal" and having that added to my meal. The prices were very clear: $8.99 for the sandwich, and $5.00 for a draft beer and side. Well, when I got the check, I was charged more than $13.99. I asked the question and I got the response of "that's what's in the system", "do you want to look"? So waitress gets the manager... that's when things got worse. He too reference the system and disregarded what was on the written menu. Was extremely unprofessional, had an attitude, and continued to raise his voice for no reason. Tried to offer a $1 discount. I explained it wasn't about the money, that it was the principal. Ok so my family and I came here for the $5 pork sandwich combo I ordered pulled pork sandwich I took off the bread and I seen a plastic in my food it looked like a hair net that got cooked in the meat!! Thank god im trying to be gluten free or else I would of ate through that sandwich and had that nasty thing in my mouth! The waitress was very nice about it she felt bad about what happened and offered to get me a new sandwich and my mom didn't want me to get another one but I wanted another one cause I was hungry. I ain't afraid of no plastic. But the next sandwich was perfect tasted so good I loved it my mom and sister were laughing at me while I ate it but it was good. Great BBQ, great service. We have had only one not-great experience there in many take-out visits. Their take out service is fast and a very good deal. We love their food, whether it's pulled pork or chicken, fried corn pops, fries, and their very excellent potato salad, everything is great. I only wish they still had onion rings. Their take-out service people can be kind of grumpy, but that's part of the charm. read more
