Prices were a little under vegas steakhouse prices. But meal had some unique dishes. Lamb chops were a large portion and cooked well. I quit ordering lamb due to small portions and overcooking them. The potato skins type thing were unique Had a creamy leek sauce over them. The elote corn was good. But don't pair well with the meal and I wouldn't order it again. The French onion soup was also a pass. I took the chocolate cake home and it was a little warm in the summer room temperature and was so melty and delicious. I've wanted to go back just for that. Service was nice. Table bread service was nice. For a casual and less pricey steakhouse, although it was still ala carte pricey. I would return. read more

Sonoma Cellar is the ideal spot for the Vegas steakhouse experience as you'll get one of the best steaks you've ever had! Located in Sunset Station Casino, the steakhouse is very beautiful inside, and the feeling of being in an old wine cellar adds to the experience! White table cloths greet you at the table, and a perfectly placed table settings give you that elevated feeling. Like any nice Vegas steakhouse, everything is a la carte and a bit on the pricey side. The steakhouse salad is the salad of choice as it's rich in taste with the bacon and avocado, but light with the French dressing! The Filet, at 10oz for $39, is an absolute winner for best steaks on the menu! Cooked medium rare your knife will literally slice through with no effort! The basket of bread brought to the table has a variety of breads of which all were fantastic! The sides would be the only thing I'd complain about. The Au Gratin Potatoes were not good, and the Creamed Spinach was good but had way too much cheese layered on top! The Mushrooms, Mac, and Baked Potato would be a better choice. read more

Sonoma Cellar fell short of expectations on this visit mostly because of the steak. I was seated at a table that's in a small alcove behind the bar and it was a perfect place for a solo diner. I was brought my iced tea quickly and I took my time looking over the menu. I ordered onion soup, the 16 ounce Kansas City steak bone in, and their twice baked au gratin potatoes. My server, David, was careful to make sure I knew not to expect a regular twice baked potato. Instead of scooping out and mashing the potato, they take some out, cube it, mix it with cheese, put it back in the potato and give it a quick melt and a minimum of browning. It's a different and tasty take on a classic serving for potatoes. The onion soup had good broth and flavor. Where this meal was less than before was the steak. The cut had a fair amount of fat, which I don't mind, but it was tough and it was cooked more than the blue I ordered. Dessert was a fun item--waffle sundae. A waffle cut into pieces and placed along a dish, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, Nutella, bananas, and maraschino cherries. There were also chocolate and peanut butter crunchies on the the sundae. It was a good way to end the meal after a disappointing main course. Service was excellent! Received a $25 off coupon with your boarding pass and decided to finally try this place out. I don't know why we never go to steakhouses in Henderson. The amount of food is worth it alone. My only reason for dropping a star is because when we arrived we were totally ignored by the people working the check in. One was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge our existence and the other was coming and going and said nothing. Finally, once we were seated they had to come back THREE times to ask what the name on our reservation is. Seriously, three times?! Food was amazing from the start. Bread was ushered out and it was the best! There was a French bread, raisin bread and pretzel roll. All were equally my favorite. We decided not to get appetizers since there was so much bread involved. The petit filet was actually 8 oz, massive for petit and such a great deal. The king crab Mac and cheese actually had chunks of crab in it. The roast chicken was super tasty and I loved all the veggies underneath soaking up the juices. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter pie since our waitress suggested it. Boy was I glad she did!it was pure heaven. It had an Oreo crust and a jelly sauce on the plate so when it's all combined it tasted like a pb&j sandwich. There was live entertainment of a women singing near the bar, a nice touch for the restaurant. Luckily there is bathrooms inside the restaurant so you don't have to trudge through the casino. Came in for a Sunday evening dinner. Made reservations for 6:45 and were promptly seated in a cozy booth. It was right next to a station that the bussers used quite often though. There were only a few of us in there and it quickly filled up as time passed. Casual attire is fine. Drink orders were quickly taken. Bread basket arrived shortly after. They had some delicious croissants in there that we asked for more of. Our waiters were great. We ordered the calamari and it was amazing. Best version I've tried thus far. Meaty with the perfect amount of breading and yummy dipping sauces. We ordered an old fashioned and the steakhouse martini. Both were ok, not too much of a kick which I'm not sure is actually ok lol. So the main entrees...porterhouse-medium, grass fed filet mignon-medium well, and NY strip-medium well. Sides: loaded potato skin-ok, charred corn-ok, and Mac n cheese-good. Mac n cheese was even better as a leftover. Charred corn just tasted like regular canned corn with alittle cotija cheese and some sauce that was ehh. The filet mignon was the best steak of the night. I've only been here twice and both the times I was there have been phenomenal. My MIL told us she had a reservation there and took us with my FIL. The food was good and the service was just as good. Our server was Huey, he was very helpful and very attentive. This second time we went, everything was so good and service has not changed. My FIL lamb chops, I got the bone in rib eye, he got the bone-in New York strip, and MIL got the filet minion. So many sides that ranged from asparagus, spinach, shishito peppers, green beans, and mashed potatoes. The appetizer we got was lobster bisque, calamari, and shrimp cocktail. The food is amazing and I would love to come back anytime for sure. Sadly the food was too good for us to get any pictures. read more

A GOOD BET I almost had forgotten what it really was like to dine on a white tablecloth table nudged into a plush booth and pampered by a seasoned professional waitstaff. Javier opened Sonoma Cellar 20 plus years ago. This past Thursday I had a prolonged beautiful dinner experience that recaptured the very fond memories and essence of fine dining. Until this evening I had not stepped foot into any Station Casino in 2020. Earlier this week our Sunset Station casino host invited us to dine @Sonoma Cellar as part of a program to intice pre-selected players to return to the casinos. The menu for this occasion was prix fixe that included the tip. I thought the entrees were par excellence and the table service genuinely sincere and most professional. Always in the past, we had requestedr Poom as our server, but on this occasion we were seatrd with Javier for the first-time. I have a birthday and wedding anniversary coming up very soon. Porterhouse steak was overdone, woefully under-seasoned, and simply not a quality cut. Reading another review (after my visit unfortunately), they seem to consistently overcook steak past your requested doneness. Even though it was overdone, I tried to just let it slide. But I had just one bite, and it was so bad that I had to send it back. My wife had the scallops, and they were extremely over-salted. We love salt too, so it was clearly too salty. We only ate 3 out of the 4 scallops. I've never had food so bad that I had to send it back to the kitchen or write a Yelp review. It's almost comical that there were two plates in one visit that were so bad. The server and manager were super nice about it and didn't charge us for those plates. Oysters Rockefeller and brussel sprouts were good. I'm just disappointed that I ended up not having dinner on my birthday. I didn't trust the kitchen to cook a good entree, so we left rather than order something else. read more

Every time we visit Sunset Station we most look forward to eating here. During our most recent stay we ate here twice and both times it was excellent as always! Juan was our server and he was great. Very friendly and attentive. Don't get me started on the bread basket...it's phenomenal. It has various kinds of bread and they're all so delicious. The crossaint literally melts in your mouth. The French onion soup is one of the best anywhere according to my dad. My mom loves the porterhouse and my brother double loves the bone-in ribeye. Between the two visits, I got the roasted chicken and the mac and cheese. The chicken is good. It's...chicken. It's seasoned nicely and comes with some vegetables but it's nothing special. The mac and cheese, however, is delectable. It's a side dish but I came just to get it as my entree! I highly recommend visiting Sonoma Cellar if you're in the area. read more

To be clear, this is a review of the bar and happy hour. We've eaten at the steakhouse many times and had great meals, great service, reasonable prices. So when the giant marquee out on Sunset Road highlighted Happy Hour in Sonoma Cellar, it was a great reminder (says there's $8 menu items but I saw none!) I'm always happy for a happy hour, especially if I've enjoyed the restaurant! So, we came and there was only one other couple at a bar table and a few folks at the bar. Asked about happy hour and were shown the menu. One side said the prices, the other showed the food. I wrongly assumed the next page with the drinks were the featured cocktails because there was no page explaining otherwise. $9 for two very small sliders, $9 for two very small tacos, and $9 for a giant plate of "tot bravas." The quality of the snacks were good, the portions on two were very small. As for the $17 Manhattan (wasn't asked if I wanted it on the rocks but that's how it came) filled with ice to the top, no choice on whiskey, and nasty florescent red cherries. This was the kind of Manhattan I'd expect from a brewery but not at proper "cocktail lounge" prices. Once I got the bill, I asked the bartender if it was right for HH pricing and he told me Manhattan's weren't included. Oh well, one and done. read more

Our family went to this restaurant for dinner. My mother-in-law is very well known at this restaurant, and she and her husband eat here every two weeks. My sister in law and her husband go that often as well. I had the filet mignon with cream spinach and mushrooms on the side, and it was delightful. We also have the vanilla crème brûlée for dessert. Others in my party had the seafood tower, which was very impressive. What makes this restaurant what it is, is the service. My mother-in-law knows Poom, who is a server at the restaurant. She is like family. This is one of the nicest fine dining restaurants in Vegas I have ever been to. We strongly recommend this restaurant, as well the bar is tremendous and makes great drinks. If you ever find yourself in Vegas and need a nice dinner, please go to Sonoma Cellar at Sunset Station. You will not be disappointed. read more

I've tried Sonoma Cellar five times over the years and it has never failed to disappoint me. Last night was my first visit after the new redesign and while the restaurant is drop-dead gorgeous inside in terms of interior design, the food is still just as god-awful as ever. I spent my free players points on dinner here and while it was technically a "free" mail, I STILL feel like I got ripped off. Our server was professional and prompt (until it came time to pay our bill, more on that later). We were presented with a basket of complimentary bread which included sourdough, wheat, and a really yummy bacon foccaccia style bread. Noone warned us that there was indeed pork in the bread, a big no-no if there's a vegetarian or vegan at your table. The new menu looks an awful lot like the old menu, but with a few "upgrades": one of them apparently being the quality of the meat. Our waiter gushed about how the kitchen was now using "fresh produce grown in Nevada" and "higher quality beef." The menu is also misleading. The descriptions sound delicious but they over-promise while the kitchen under-delivers. Here's what we ordered: Appetizer to Share: Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, $14 for four decently prepared shrimp wrapped in super crispy bacon and a mustard / orange marmalade sauce. Tasty but overpriced. For dinner I got the filet mignon ($34) and asked for it medium well. The kitchen butterflied my steak which is fine, but it was still a little too pink in the middle for me and it was served cold. I didn't send it back because it wasn't that good anyway, but a steakhouse should know how to properly cook a steak without butterflying it and if they have to cut it, it at least shouldn't be closer to rare in the middle (and serving a steak cold -- not room temperature, but COLD) is ridiculous. Hubby got the pan seared ribeye ($39) and said the meat quality was disappointing. Neither of the steaks were well seasoned and my steak tasted like it had zero seasoning on it at all, not even salt or pepper. The side dishes, each priced at $9, were miniscule portions and tasted bad. We had broccoli that was served with a dab of yogurt on the bottom and a few sad pistachios tossed in (although the menu promised spicy broccoli with mint and yogurt and nuts, we technically got those things but it was unappetizing to look at), and Cauliflower Three Ways (the menu listed it as such, as a trio of cauliflower prepared pickled, pureed, and roasted). We were served a bowl of cold roasted cauliflower. The wine list was actually quite good, heavy on the big California reds and the per bottle prices weren't marked up as much as they are at the "big boy" gourmet steak houses. A few wines were served by the glass for an average price of $11 per glass. We brought in our own bottle and the corkage fee was $25. The service was decent until it was time for our check, and we sat and waited quite a long time. We were trying to catch a movie next door at the Regal and our waiter was aware of that fact. Still, he ignored us for a good 15 minutes before returning with our check. We paid with points but he erroneously took an additional $40 worth of points out of our Players account. He swore he would get a manager to take care of it, but I'm doubtful. I'll check to see what my balance is but I have every idea that he just left that extra $40 on there. This is a pretty restaurant but the food is bad, the prices are too high, the quality is poor, and the service needs a lot of work. I won't be back. read more

I'm going to need more stars for this. I don't remember the cut I ordered but I decided it wasn't important since everything we ordered was unbelievably delicious. Hubby and I each ordered a different cut of steak with creamed spinach and asparagus. The steak was melt in your mouth tender and the sides were delicious. Sonoma is a great looking restaurant with a nice, comfy bar area. A recent happy hour visit at the bar was overall a success. Two of us shared the mushroom sliders, happy hour BBQ shrimp and crab dip. We both liked the sliders, tho I'm not confident the mushrooms were there, as I didn't taste any. This appetizer comes with fries and homemade ketchup, and we got the ketchup after the sliders. The fries were good, and the shrimp was pretty good also. The BBQ part of the shrimp was not in your face, which I had mixed feelings about. As for the crab dip, it was fine but needs some spice. Drinks are above average, and my whiskey cocktail, Cellar Style, was pretty memorable. It has Merlot, rye whiskey, brown sugar, cinnamon syrup and black walnut bitters. Happy hour drink prices are fair for an upscale steakhouse, and they have a good beer selection also. We also got a crab salad compliments of the chef, which was a nice touch, and we both enjoyed it. Another with my siblings and my father to celebrate my dad's birthday and most recently for my husband's birthday. Each visit was amazing and unique The first visit was a beautiful meal with a very charming waiter. The second visit was delicious and enjoyable. The third was impeccable and silly. Friday night dining experience was not the best. I've been craving the shrimp cocktail here for a month or more. Maybe my expectations were too high because it wasn't very good tonight. The shrimp was overcooked but the cocktail sauce was good. The complimentary basket of bread is always warm but not this time. I've never seen burned croissants until now. I flagged our server down and asked for a fresh basket which delivered warm and perfect croissants. I should not have had to point that out. Where is the quality control tonight? I asked for a char on my filet mignon, if we come back I will be sure to specify a "light char". The burned steak that I cut off was a lot. I ate here as a solo diner as I have before and got terrific attentive service. My server Summer answered questions and gave informed opinions when asked. My filet was not properly cooked. I ordered medium and got an odd lopsided result one side medium well and the other side rare. On the other had I want to marry the person who made the Mac and Cheese it was spectacular. The old fashioned was properly made and satisfying. Finally the crème brûlée and the coffee was a wonderful finale. Definitely will come back I'll just order a different main course. Well, I guess you really can't win them all. This experience was quite the disappointment. It began well, because the place is nice, elegant, with good lighting. While we waited for our table to be ready, we scanned the menu to decide what we were going to order. We decided on the rack of lamb for me, Australian lobster for my husband, and a side of sautéed broccolini to share. We got seated, and our server (Huey) came promptly. We ordered, we got the bread, the drinks, and after some time, the food. The bread was, unsurprisingly enough, the same they have at most of the Station Casinos restaurants: pretzel sticks (okay), buttery buns (very good), raisin nut bread (very good) and some bread that looked like French bread, but it was actually some sourdough poser: regular bread with citric acid added to taste sour. That bread was not good. Now, for the food... my husband's lobster was extremely disappointing. Big and meaty, but with very little flavor. Super bland. It might've been because it was from warm water, but whatever the cause, it was bland. The butter was in a little container, not in a warmer. The broccolini was HARD. We were expecting tender and crunchy, but we got just plain, barely cooked, hard broccolini. The rack of lamb said it came with pea purée, fennel pollen and mint. The purée was really good; the other things I didn't taste anywhere. I ordered the lamb medium, but it was in the medium rare side, with the last piece being almost raw. During our time there, Huey did his best to be funny and helpful, but he was mainly helpful. Before we left, he went for the hand shake, which in normal times is odd enough; in these times, at least for us, that's a big no no. We will definitely not be going back. Sonoma Cellar is located in Sunset Station so it is convenient for those staying at the hotel. I could also see locals coming by since they can use points to pay for meals and there is ample free parking. Did not have a reservation at 8:15 on a Friday evening. No hassle from the hostess, who gave options of an open bar table with full menu were available or a one hour wait for an inside table. Was hungry so went with a bar table. Service was excellent. Our waitress was not offended that we were drinking only soda and were using a free appetizer coupon (given at check in to the hotel). Emptied soda glasses were replaced with full ones regularly and used plates were cleared as soon as we confirmed we were done with them. The check was delivered and quickly once we were done. Take out plastic cups were provided so we could finish the last of our soda as we were playing machines. On to the food. The carpaccio starter was recommended but we went with crab cake. They had no trace of shell and were quite good, especially when enjoyed with the complimentary bread (3 different types!). The porterhouse and ribeye steaks are the largest steaks on the menu. Ordered the porterhouse medium rare and it was cooked as well as could be hoped for. The small filet on one side of the T bone always comes out more done than the much larger strip loin on the other, and this one was no exception. The filet was a still-acceptable medium while the strip loin was medium rare. The ribeye was ordered medium and it was served perfectly medium. Both steaks were seasoned nicely before cooking and were exceptionally tasty as a result. Both were tender and juicy, not like wagyu but then these were $50 steaks, not $250 steaks. Although these are bone in steaks, do not think that there is only a little bit of meat on them. The porterhouse was quoted as 24 ounces so the filet side was probably comparable in size to the petite filet on their menu. And of course there is the strip loin, too. So the porterhouse is easily comparable to the steak in two of their other entrees. The ribeye has a gross weight of 20 ounces but unlike a Tomahawk, the bone here was very small. In fact, it seemed that there was more meat on the ribeye than there was on the porterhouse. Even though we were hungry and had been looking forward to steak and were quite hungry, we could not finish these steaks. The sides we ordered were the sautéed mushrooms and the blackened corn. Both were very good but given that we could not finish the steaks, the sides were an unnecessary add on for us. We are glad to have tried them but ate less than half of each serving. Our waitress offered dessert but was out of the question for us since we were so full already. The check was delivered and settled quickly and we were on our way. Three staff members in addition to our waitress made a point to thank us for the visit on our way out. Definitely worth a return visit, especially since we will know not to over order. read more

I haven't eaten here in a few years. We thought we'd try it out again after the renovation. They did a great job on the renovation. The atmosphere is much brighter and more modern, unlike before with the old Tuscan/renaissance outdated look. David, our waiter was wonderful...great service. We had ordered king crab legs 10/10 $59, roasted chicken 9/10 $28, salmon 9/10 $29, apple salad 8/10 $10, mash potatoes 8/10 $8, sauteed mushrooms 10/10 $8, and steamed broccolini 8/10 $9. Every item was cooked properly and had excellent flavors. Prices were a bit steep for the location with no view but the casino floor.
