Amazing experience! Love the vibe overall. Super quaint, modern and elegant, yet relaxed. Our waiter spent so much time talking us through the menu and offering recommendations. The hand rolls were fantastic! It's also a different experience because you assemble the hand rolls yourself if you are seated outside to keep the seaweed fresh. They offer a whole instruction sheet which is nice (haha) but it's really not that hard. Highlights were the red snapper, truffle salmon, albacore and scallop. Also got to try the Kumamoto red snapper sashimi and it was so fresh and melted in your mouth. Everything was delicious truly! They have a vegan hand roll menu which is cool. They also have wine and cocktail menu that looked pretty appetizing, but we didn't get drinks this visit. I would definitely recommend checking out Sora. Great spot for date night and wonderful customer service. Definitely wear your sunscreen or bring a hat if you are planning to sit on the rooftop. They have umbrellas for some shade, but it still peeks through! Also, they take the inkind app which I love.

They don't have much as far as gluten free but the sashimi is safe to eat and I'm excited about it! Bf is ordering temaki aka hand rolls. We are sitting at the bar upstairs with a view of Fairfax blvd. The music is very lively and so is the ambience inside!! The fish is premium and they have kimnedai hand rolls and sashimi. Satva is their sister restaurant downstairs. My hand roll was EXCELLENT and I love the truffle oil mixed in.

I ordered Sora off of Uber Eats and they were doing a buy one get one for their spicy salmon hand roll and their spicy tuna crispy rice, so I gave those two items a try. There's nothing super special about the salmon, the fish is OK, I do wish that it was a bit spicier, and that they didn't use the suite, Unagi sauce, and something else. I do like their crispy rice, again. The tuna was not that spicy, however, the flavors were pretty good. It also traveled fairly well, it was still pretty crispy by the time it got delivered to me. They also didn't provide any wasabi or ginger, which I thought was kind of weird.

The weekday lunch prefix menu is a great deal. You get three appetizers and three handrolls for $32. The rooftop seating area was mostly empty when we went, so it was great being able to have the space almost to ourselves. The restaurant itself is very clean with a modern Japandi feel. (For dinner, I would recommend making a reservation as it gets very busy). I had the freshwater eel, scallops, and coconut shrimp. The scallop handroll was my favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised by the coconut shrimp. Parking - It's at the Original Farmers Market, so parking is free for 90 minutes with validation.

3.5/5 ... it's delicious and beautiful aesthetic with the rooftop patio but honestly imo... it's nothing out of this world ahhh dunno if i'd come back but i'm glad to have had a great experience here and enjoy the food and drinks, just not up to par with my tastes

Angel was a fantastic server. He really took care of us. He was very friendly and made the experience even more enhanced for me and my partner. Everything we got was recommended by Angel and we would wholeheartedly rated a 10 out of 10!! We'll be back, most definitely! The fish was super fresh and just melted in our mouth. This is a must try hand place in Los Angeles.

I went for dinner here with the understanding that we could order off this menu and the one fountains at their sister restaurant Savta. When we arrived they made it clear that we could do that but we had to order the majority from Sora. Sora does tiny 2 bite sushi at a high cost. Their chef is adamant about no ingredient adjustments which is unfortunate because he uses a lot of eel sauce and won't allow you to order without it. The presentation is fancy but don't come here hungry unless you're willing to put down a lot of $ for a meal. I would say there are SO many better places to check out in the area. The food we tried, while small was ok, but it did not blow us away.

Sora provides an elegant rooftop temaki experience that blends quality fish with stunning views. Our party ordered the popular, recommended rolls like the Kumamoto red snapper, scallop, spicy bluefin tuna, and toro truffle jalapeno which tasted fresh and exciting. I enjoyed the crisp nori alongside the fresh wasabi to pair with the rolls. The spicy bluefin tuna and scallop rolls stood out most as they were a combination of slightly sweet, savory, and having a clean texture. The service was great, but the wait was 40 minutes within an empty restaurant.

Spicy bluefin tuna jalapeño and spicy salmon jalapeño. Absolutely delicious.

Located at the corner of 3rd and Fairfax there is a rooftop sushi bar that overlooks the intersection while giving an immaculate view of the Los Angeles skyline. I had the Spicy bluefin tuna jalapeño and spicy salmon jalapeño. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful service. Beautiful yet simple presentation. Robust flavor.10 outta 10. Excellent service. Great place for a solo date or a casual meet up.

Yellowtail, scallops, Hokkaido ikura, Hokkaido uni, spicy lobster

Mostly impressed with my temaki except the scallop one. Hokkaido uni and ikura were my most favorite for fresh, flavorful, and creamy without fishy smell. Spicy lobster and Kumamoto yellowtail were tasty too. My least favorite was scallop because with this price, I didn't expect scallops would be cut into pieces. Service and atmosphere were nice.

I love a low key ambiance and solid hand rolls. Sora is a great addition to the Farmers Market! It's located on a rooftop and you enter through Savta, making it feel like a hidden spot. Their handrolls are pricier for the size you get, but the fish was definitely fresh. I'd recommend ordering 3 for a snack or 5 for a light meal. I enjoyed the salmon truffle and the trio the most. Kumamoto red snapper was too salty for me but it seems to be a favorite. Overall it's a nice restaurant away from the hustle and bustle at the Grove!

i visited Sora months ago and I thought I made a review but it disappeared. Last visit the drinks were amazing but the food was lackluster and hard to enjoy given the plastic we needed to take off of each roll. Now they have revamped the serving style. Rolls come deconstructed with seaweed on the side. I prefer this to the plastic but at this price point creating my own roll feels wrong. I ordered 5 rolls, 1 was great, 1 salty, 1 super sweet, and 2 mediocre. Always great service and ambiance. Cute date spot. As in drinks and a few rolls for an appetizer prior to going to your actual dinner reservation. Tip: If you're not already at the Grove/Farmers market skip entirely but it's cute option if you're already paying for parking.

SOOO GOOD. Randomly came here during lunch and it didn't disappoint. Located above the restaurant Satva and it is front facing the parking lot of the Farmer's Market. Cute but small spot. I enjoyed being able to see the Farmer's Market clock tower from where we were sitting. Ok the hand rolls are amazing. You build it yourself. They present you with the inside of the handrolls that come on these lollipop sticks, then you place them in the crispy seaweed, take the stick out, and enjoy. My favorite ones were the TRIO (uni, caviar, toro) and the KIMEDAI with yuzu kosho. I think what really impressed me was their side of wasabi which was Kizami wasabi. It's marinated and chopped, almost pickled like wasabi, rather than the typical wasabi you get that's made from powder. Service was kind and prompt. Shoutout to Mari! One star off because I thought the edamame portion was small and I personally don't prefer when the rice on the Crispy Rice is fried. But that's just my personal preference!! The food is amazing. Worth the visit!

Interesting experience to say the least…read more Came on a Saturday night off the whim and was seated right away. There's indoor and outdoor. Outdoor consists of the sidewalk & a sectioned off patio section. I liked the dark ambiance, it felt very romantic. The lighting was very intimate. A waitress came, got our drink orders and we ordered the duck breast as an appetizer. We got our drinks, which the tall glass is very misleading as I felt like I barely sipped anything and it was GONE, lol. I ordered the watermelon drink and it was tasty, I just wanted watermelon water anyways. It came with a watermelon slice which was nice. After the drinks we were WAITING idk how long until a different waitress came and took our order ?? We put in our entree, received them & never got our appetizer. We were waiting a long time for someone else to come by. I ordered the seared kanpachi jalapeño roll, which 10/10!! it was flavorful, had the spice & felt fresh. I didn't have to add anything like soy sauce to it. I just eat all my sushi with ginger and it paired great with it. Finally someone showed up & we said we ordered a duck breast appetizer with the first waitress, which was never put in. So the second waitress went ahead and put it in. The duck breast has an interesting texture. I can't explain it. I did not like the texture. The flavor was fine but the texture really threw me off personally. Kind of reminded me of pâté cat food, it felt like how paté cat food looks if that makes sense. Texture wise. Overall, service was trash. The waitresses were both unfriendly, but I guess that's just LA customer service nowadays. We waited forever. Spent more time waiting rather than eating. Valet or street metered parking. Restrooms in the back, 2 single unisex stalls.
