If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I were in town and decided to try out the pizza because supposedly it had good reviews. We decided on the margarita pizza because you could never go wrong with a margarita. But somehow they did. After taking a bite we quickly realized our mistake because it was the absolute worst pizza we have ever had and we have had a fair amount of pizza. To begin the pizza had NO SAUCE AT ALL. It had so much garlic and they used pesto instead of basil. The pesto combined with the garlic left a very grASSY taste. The best part about it was the crust and it was mediocre at best. For the price of $37 I'd expect to get a pizza that I could enjoy but I was let down by the flavor and quality of this pizza. I will never come back to this place for pizza ever again. My new favorite is a build your own "thin crust" Pizza, my always order standard is spaghetti and meatballs extra sauce as I love the consistency their noodles always tender NEVER cooked al dente!! It smelled lovely in there, just like pizza. When the rest of the friends got there, they had sat on the sit-down side of the restaurant that I didn't know they had. We were on the takeout side. When we asked the restaurant if we could join them at a table, they said no. I ordered the chicken cacciatore. It came with a side salad that paired well with their Italian dressing, but I didn't actually eat it till I got home. When I opened it, it had lots of veggies, not normally in the dish. It's known for onions and peppers, but this one had potatoes, carrots, broccoli and zucchini in addition to the peppers and onions. It was very hearty, but because of the time it took to get home, sadly, the chicken wasn't juicy and was starting to get tough. To avoid that next time, gonna just dine in. read more

Let me say that we've been going here for decades, more recently they came under new ownership and they promptly increased prices all around in an absurd manner. In the past, a medium pizza was still insanely expensive at 20-22$. One day they decided to increase the price by 6-8$, so yeah, 28$ for a mediocre medium pizza. The pizza is not bad per se but I can get a frozen pizza just as good for 6$ at Trader Joe's. The fact we paid 50$ for a medium one topping pizza and a large salad for carry out is laughable, it's not like this is the worlds best pizza or anything, its basic. To add, the people who make it couldn't be bothered to actually spread the pepperoni properly, which is why you end up biting into stacks of pepperoni 7 layers thick. Maybe someone likes that but it's actually just laziness in the kitchen. We supported this family business for literal decades, but after them raising the prices to absolutely absurd levels, it does not make any sense. This review is LONG overdue! I have been coming to Sorrento's Restaurant since I was a kid, and years later we would get take out for our kids when they were growing up. On Saturday, my husband and I decided we wanted really good pizza, and of course we came to Sorrento's. We dined in and shared a white pizza, and also got a meatball sandwich to go. As always, everything was delicious. Nothing has changed here, and I mean it in the very best way! It is hands down, the best pizza in the South Bay. The white pizza is a dream of cream sauce and cheese, with prosciutto as a topping. It is amazing. The meatball sandwich is traditional, hearty and cheesy. The meatballs are homemade and delicious. The young guy who was our server was very pleasant and attentive. We had a lot of leftovers, and he boxed up everything perfectly to enjoy later. Do yourself a favor and go to Sorrento's. Sorrentos has changed with ownership.We tried it after new ownership months ago and the crust,sauce,and cheese was different and we didn't like it.Why wouldn't they stay with original recipe?Well,to update we tried it one more time a few days ago and here is my review-Definitely improved,The sauce is very close to the way it used to be,the crust was good,but seemed to be missing a little something maybe salt or olive oli,and wasn't crispy as we ordered,which doesn't support the toppings and sauce,and the cheese is way different from Sorrentos before new ownership.The cheese before was so delicious and melted and gooey,the cheese now is clumpy not gooey,definitely a lower quality less expensive cheese.I hope Sorrentos continues to improve the pie and go back to the ingredients and recipes that Sorrentos used to use.Overall I give the pizza a score of 7 out of 10. read more

I've been Italy, had pizza there & by no means do I expect that here in San Pedro...but the flavor of their pizza was just offensive. The "fresh basil" was excessively large dollops of pesto-basil paste, the tomatoes were extremely large full size chunks of tomatoes which was really off putting, and lastly the amount of garlic on this pizza literally made my husband cry.
