Minisplit head kicking out cold air on a hot summers day. Can't wait to see how it works in winter too!

If you're looking for an honest, affordable HVAC solution, look no further. Soto HVAC saved me like $10k and William is a super nice guy who wont steer your wrong. My wife and I have been dying every summer: we work from home and we don't have central air and the room where we work is the hottest in the house. I got quotes from what I thought was an affordable company, sourced through Home Depot, and they wanted $21k to install a 2 zone mini split, or $15k for a single zone. I was shocked- minisplits I saw online were 2k-4k roughly depending on size...How are they adding TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to the bill for something they install in less than 1 day??? I found Soto HVAC through recommendations on Nextdoor and then saw his numerous 5-star reviews. His quote... a very reasonable ~$10k for a 2 zone, but explained to us that based on the size of the room, we likely only needed one zone, and it could help cool the adjoining room. Did you get that? He's wasn't trying to up-sell us on something we didn't need. He wants you to be happy, not broke. You don't usually get that from businesses these days. Long story short- this man is a saint and saved us a ton of money and now I have to put on a sweater in the summer when I'm working. :-D THANK YOU SOTO HVAC!!!

Can I give 6 stars!!! We just installed a dedicated mini-split for our master bedroom! Beyond the best pricing by a lot, William was spontaneous in our initial inquiry, punctual both for the estimate and also for the date of install. He made sure to consult me on any aspect that required input including positioning the unit in the room as well as the condenser and adapting to our electrical setup. He kept the work area spotless and was diligent and professional in every aspect of the install! He even looked at our central system and saved us from incurring unnecessary repairs! Thank you William for everything!

If you're in the market for a new Mini-Split HVAC system.. look no further. I spoke with probably 5-10 HVAC companies around the Bay Area regarding a mini-split unit for my new 10x10 office shed, but no one came close to William's pricing, responsiveness, transparency and overall customer service. It became clear that these other companies are either trying to charge a premium for their reputation, equipment (think buying a Ferrari when you only need a Honda) or they just have too much overhead with operating costs that it doesn't make sense to do a job with slightly lower margins when they don't have to... I mean, I don't blame them as demand is crazy high right now for these mini-split systems. I literally had 2 companies tell me to go with Soto HVACs quote because they, "couldn't come anywhere near that price". Don't get me wrong, I was looking to do this job right, so I was willing to shell out the big bucks, but finally decided to go with Soto HVAC because of the combination of price + customer service (every consumer's dream). I contacted William in October 2022. He walked me through my options and provided me a proposal/quote for the job. He was so patient with me through multiple delays in the construction of my new office shed. It's worth noting that every time I called William regarding a delay in my project he made me feel at ease and assured me that nothing changed with our prior agreement/quote and to just give him a week's notice so he could add me to his job calendar. He always picked up my calls or was able to respond back that same day... just awesome. I called William on Saturday (1/7) giving him the green light that my shed had been built and my new mini-split was installed that Wednesday (1/11). Okay guys, hang with me here... we've had horrible storms in the Bay Area since the start of 2023.. William comes out in the POURING rain and gets the unit installed in less than half a day. He brought a tarp for the job to ensure my new office didn't get dirty, and when he left it was still in immaculate condition. Before leaving he taught me how to use the unit and provided operating tips to ensure it was running as efficiently as possible regardless of the season. He left the door open to contact him if I experienced any problems or had additional questions. I only leave yelp reviews when I believe companies go above and beyond.. only "five star" worthy companies. I'm no stranger to the fact that it's really difficult to maintain a "five-star" rating in this day/age and in the Bay Area where we all have strong opinions about everything, but I'll tell you right now that choosing Soto HVAC for my Mini-Split had me smiling ear-to-ear from start to finish. You're the man, William. Thank you again!!!

Mini-split in our Eichler home. Clean & seamless install. Perfect.

***WOULD GIVE WILLIAM SEVENTEEN STARS IF POSSIBLE*** In December, my husband and I moved into an Eichler home in Concord with single pane windows. Sure, we knew it was going to get hot in the summer. However, we were not prepared to have to throw out an ENTIRE PANTRY full of food due to the INSIDE of our home being over 100 degrees for several days at a time. (We had baking flour that was actually steaming. And oh my, you should have seen what had at one time been chocolate chips.) In addition to the NINE powerful fans in our house, my husband and I first tried rigging up window air conditioner ... Nope. A portable air conditioner ... Nada. A swamp cooler ... Worked a BIT better, but only cooled one room down by about 10 degrees. It was time to get real and install a ductless mini-split system, folks. William arrived for the consultation and right off the bat, was one of the most genuinely polite, respectful, friendly humans I had met in quite some time. He listened carefully to my concerns and thoughtfully answered all of my questions. He did a thorough examination of our home and conjured up an inventive system that would provide maximum cooling with (a) less disruption to the original woodwork, and (b) the bare minimum piping that could be viewed from the street (so it'd be more attractive from the outside, and would have greater resale value someday). To note: Eichlers are beautiful, but a lot of contractors hate working on them (believe me, they'll just come out and say it), cause they are difficult to maneuver around. William was up for the challenge. After meeting with William just once, I was sure he was the man for the job. William showed up exactly on time each day - for the three days he installed the mini-split system in our home. He worked efficiently and cleanly. He had the help of his lovely wife for several hours during the first two days. They would leave each room spotless (and I'm a neat freak). We have two dogs, one of whom is anxious. William was sure to warn me before he would enter the home so I could place her in room, and didn't seem the least bit put out if she happed to bark at him through the glass doors. William worked with precision. I would catch him working and I could tell everything he was doing was with intention. He has incredible attention to detail. From start to finish, I couldn't imagine a better experience. It is apparent William takes pride in his work, yet he is not prideful. He is a lovely, hardworking, honest gentleman who does quality work. I highly recommend William Soto of Soto HVAC.

    Recessed ductless mini split

We had William install ductless mini splits in our upstairs bedrooms. His bid was the most competitive and he did excellent work. He was on time and followed up on any questions that we had. Highly recommend him!

Pay attention to the 1 stars. They aren't lying. Run, don't walk away. Better yet, don't even knock…read moreon the door folks. I needed a new a/c unit. Ours is old and on life support. Juan came with the sales pitch (i:e: if you agree to go with us now, we'll give you a discount...but only if you decide RIGHT now). I had to sit through a binder presentation and he told me I needed a new furnace to go with my air conditioner unit because the A/C condenser and furnace have to pair up for operational purposes and they won't replace one unit only if they are both more than 8 yrs old. He showed me some scary pictures of his furnace "inspection" and said my furnace was a fire risk, had evidence of decomposition and potential CO exposure and in the "interest of safety", he recommended a full system upgrade. The pictures were legit bad and concerning, but the funny thing is, the pictures he showed me were not the inside of my furnace. I had 4 other local vendors come after him and all of them showed me photos of inside my unit. Guess what? Their pics all matched each others and none matched Juan's pictures. Weird right? The other 4 local vendors inspected my furnace and all of them noticed the refurb of all the major components I had done 5 years ago. All said that no furnace replacement was indicated and my furnace was in great shape with many high functioning years left. Weird right? I intentionally never offered that info up to any vendor before the inspection as a secret test to see who would be an honest tradesman and who would not. See a pattern here folks? Juan's quotes came in at $17,500 for an electrical system (a/c and furnace) and $18,046 for a gas system (a/c and furnace), because you know...can't just replace the AC unit in his world. All other vendors (who have higher/better reviews on Yelp btw) came in between $8-10k for a new a/c unit. Again, all said no need for a new furnace. So, i'm counting my lucky stars I wasn't duped. Going with someone else and getting my new A/C unit installed tommorow
