Additionally I needed a license plate frame put on it was essentially two rivets and they wanted to charge me $100... The guys like well it's labor of course it's labor but I'm also putting your name on my car... I went in for a 60K mile check up. The Service Department missed 1) my battery check and 2) lubrication of my sunroof. When the battery died, I was not happy when I spoke with Mgr. Michael Pendleton. He sent over Eric from SB Ford/Lincoln Mobile Repair. Eric was very courteous and knowledgeable and brought me a new battery and fixed my sunroof. It was very inconvenient to have the battery die but Mgr Mike P made it right by making it a courtesy call from SB Ford/Lincoln. I had such a positive experience with Ford overall, that I decided to contact the salesman who helped me out 7 years ago, to purchase my "forever" car now that I've finished all of my schooling and am back in the workforce for good: Marvin Eleid. I am now driving around in a beautiful 2022 Ford Escape PHEV. Marvin made investing in my first car a smooth and easygoing process, so I wasn't surprised when he took extra good care of me a few days ago. He was quick to respond, honest, and very thorough. Not only did I manage to find/purchase a car that I really like via text message, but Marvin delivered the car to my home the next day (how convenient, right?!). Final Update! Dealership has made our deal right. Repaired all issues and gave a loaner that was better then the car we purchased. Has been active and responsive to issues and concerns. Adolfo made everything right and made us a bit more comfortable with our purchase and our family has finally begun to enjoy and love the explorer. We end up having our baby the next day so we asked to hold it so we could purchase it. We did a credit application thinking we where getting the warranty and 32k price. Well dealership bait and switched us and wanted to charged 35k for the car and offered no warranty but wanted to charge me 4k for it. I ended having to make some calls to my ford board chairmen to get anywhere as we where just baited and switched by the shed car manager. Unfortunately dealer owner was on vacation so getting and form of help was out of question. Fast forward we now have had our credit pulled 13 times and the get the price to 32k. We then are forced to buy it as we don't want anymore pulls on our credit. We get the car have It one night and it won't start. Batteries exploded and corroded and after doing more look through there's foreign objects inside my engine from the mechanic and nature. So it's obvious no inspection was completed. After buying a new battery I text salesmen explaining situation and get nothing but rude response saying it's my fault. I then call joe one of the managers and he states to bring it in for a new inspection. On my way I notice the SUV is wobbling all over the road. I bring it up and it turns out the new tires they put on it where not balanced. Not only did they give me a unsafe car for my new born child to get hurt in but they didn't have any remorse. Now I'm hesitant to keep this car as I don't trust it since obviously dealership doesn't trust it and won't warranty it. If your looking for a safe dealership go somewhere else. I can't Believe dealership owner will operate a business this way or let his people bait and switch. It's always an interesting social experiment to go into a car dealership on a sloppy day. Today I decided, while driving up the 405, to pop off the highway for a quick pit stop at this Ford dealership. I was in flip-flops, shorts and a tanktop, with convertible hair and $5 sunglasses. My car was quite dirty and spotted from parking too close to a sprinkler the night before. And I have a scratch down the entire side of my car from an uncoordinated neighbor who apparently parks her car as though she has a squirrel-chasing eye and no peripheral vision or depth perception. Translation: I looked poor. The bored-looking salesperson approached my car as I parked but stopped about fifty feet away. An interesting tactic, as it gave the impression that he was disinterested in actually making contact. He waited for me to walk toward him before greeting me with a very lukewarm tone of voice. I began to explain that I was just stopping in to see if I fit in the new Fiesta (I'm 6'6), and I caught a slight scowl as he interrupted me to say that they only had two and they both sold yesterday. He began to walk back to the showroom, saying that I can come find him if I have any other questions. Wow. I actually stopped him and told him that I was also potentially interested in looking at the '11 Mustangs, in a stickshift, and that I knew there were likely no lease programs since they were so new, but wanted to pop in anyway and take a look. Again, with zero enthusiasm, he told me that they only had one, that it was an automatic, and that I could feel free to look around if I like. I continued asking questions as he tried a second time to walk away and blow me off... he placated me and ansered them, but it didn't take a psychologist to figure out that his mind was elsewhere, that he had no interest in continuing the conversation, and that he was just looking for an escape from a customer who was unlikely to buy a car today. His third escape attempt worked; I was tired of working so hard to have a salesperson form a rapport with me, and already decided that if I go with an '11 Mustang I'll go with another dealership. As I got in my car he made a beeline across the parking lot, crossed the street, headed straight for El Pollo Loco. Sorry to get between you and your Ultimate Grilled Burrito, dude. Didn't mean to impose. By the way... if your management team is reading this... I have a 715 FICO score, no negative equity in my car, and just got a $400/month raise. We went in on Sunday, 05/27, to test drive the 2019 Ford Ranger. We usually purchase (to own new) cars and have never leased a vehicle before, so we were not sure how the process worked, but rockstar Jerred made it straightforward and took the time to answer all of our questions to allay any of our misgivings. We really were not in the market to bringing home another vehicle that day (I definitely was not), but my husband has been pining for a truck for a very long while, and with Father's Day coming up and our 18th wedding anniversary shortly after, I felt that the least I could do was indulge his wish to test drive the Ford Ranger for FUTURE CONSIDERATION. Well, the test drive turned into negotiations, and after a bit of a back and forth, we ended up with terms on a lease we were content we were willing to afford. It is very sad that I have to post this as I have previously given a 5 star review which I plan to leave up because that great employee deserves it and was not part of this current mess. My '17 Lincoln MKZ was due for service, needed new Michelin tires and had a warranty issue with the navigation. I contacted my regular excellent service advisor who I learned was out on medical leave. He put me in contact with Mike Pendleton who I first contacted on Feb. 23rd. He replied that at that time they didn't have any service loaners and that he was expecting some the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I never heard back from him so on March 2nd I contacted him again, letting him know that my car needed tires and service. I didn't receive any response. On March 16th I contacted him again as my tires were now really bad and service way overdue. I still to this day have not received any response. I have been a loyal customer to South Bay because of the excellent service I had previously received from my regular advisor. Aside from my newer MKZs, I have also brought in my classic Lincoln Mark VII where I spent a good deal of money getting it serviced. I also was in communication with sales as I will be buying a Mustang Mach E this month and bought 7 Lincolns and Fords from my previous dealer in the past 6 years and would have been an excellent loyal lifelong customer. You would think a customer like me would at least get a response back, but that never happened. As a business owner, I very well know the meaning of customer service. Sadly, South Bay has lost touch of that. After being ignored and driving on tires that were getting bad, I contacted a competing dealer and was scheduled to bring my car in the next day, was given a nice Lincoln loaner, provided exceptional service where I felt valued as a customer and as such felt good spending my money there. Since South Bay no longer values me as a customer and the competing dealer does, I have already contacted them and arranged to buy my Mustang Mach E there. I will also service my fleet of Lincolns and Fords there. I am a very loyal Lincoln and Ford customer, a member of the LCOC (Lincoln and Continental Owners Club) and as a business owner I drive a lot and purchase vehicles for me and my family often. South Bay just lost a great customer they could have had for life as I live in Redondo Beach, less than 10 minutes away but prefer to drive to a dealer that appreciates me and values my business. Tried to get the service department on the line at 5:30 on evening so that I may make an appointment for her the next morning. No one answered because the person who answers calls says they start cleaning up (even though they close at 6 pm). Luckily I called back and was able to make an appointment for the next day. Brought her car in and dealt with a service advisor who is her "regular" service advisor. Waited a bit but that's ok. What happened next befuddles me. He started out nice but I think he grew impatient with my (our) many questions. I almost feel like he doesn't like his job. After all, our business and questions allow him to have a job. In any case, when he called to tell me my Mother's car was ready, I asked if she could call him back so that she could schedule a pick up. He said, "I'll see what I could do" as if we were inconveniencing him and his schedule. I'm probably not conveying what I need to through this post review but all I know is- I will never recommend this service department nor ever entertain the thought of purchasing a Ford. I'll stick to courteous service reps at Toyota. Next time guys- you can deal with my Mom. I was simply trying to do you a favor!!! Good luck! read more
