You have not had pho until you've had this pho. Broth, true beef broth that will cure all the problems in your life. If you ask for the steak raw they will give it to you without hesitation, so you can enjoy rare beef bits in your other worldly soup. I like everything else here, but 90% of the time I go for pho. The owners so nice and always remember me when I come to visit even though I've lived far away for years. A very good little oasis when you would like your Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese cuisine to be less greasy and more flavorful. read more

Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai? Wow--too good to be true?? Unfortunately, that's exactly the case.. We both had chicken dishes (Pad Thai & Lemongrass Chicken with Lo Mein). Both were made with frozen 'chicken tenders'. The entire meal felt like something I could have cooked on my own. Nothing special, nothing authentic, IMHO. The place is tiny and has no AC. Not a huge deal in Seattle or even Everett, but Chehalis? Come on, it's 90 here regularly and really how much is a small wall unit? $300? I wouldn't come back. I keep wanting to expand my horizons and try new things, but I ended up ordering what I usually order at Asian restaurants, Kung Pao Shrimpe & Scallops. I like spicy. The spicy scale is 1-5, I ordered 4 scale and glad I did! I probably could have handled 5, but 4 was just fine for me and definitely cleared out my sinus issues! Steamed rice (could have ordered fried....) was very good! My only criticism is the hot and sour soup. I like my hot and sour soup HOT! and SOUR! It was a bit on the sweet side. I have never had hot and sour soup be sweet like this. The sweetness overwhelmed the "hot and sour" part. I asked for chop sticks and WOWSIES, I was handed REAL chop sticks, not the wooden ones. The spiciness hit the spot for me! Price wise, there are a lot of dishes under $10 and some over $10 so I'm marking "moderate" on price. No room to park an RV here. But it is within a brisk walk from the local hotels on Interstate Street. read more

Staying out of town for work, wanted to try somewhere other than my usual. So I stopped in and ordered to go. There was a bunch of people waiting for take out. Actually the majority of people in the restaurant were there to pick up. It took nearly an hour to get my order that evening. I ordered some veggie and seafood dish was was nice and light, exactly what I was craving. But I ordered hot and sour soup also. And that was the weirdest recipe of hot and sour that I have ever tasted. It was not spicy, not sour. It tasted of hoisin sauce. I couldn't even eat it. Bland uninspired food and unfriendly I arrived at the restaurant shortly after it opened at 11:00 am and waited for the lady to finish a phone call before she shortly told me I could sit anywhere. The service was very slow and the person who took my order and served my meal barely spoke to me and never smiled once. As more people came in, they appeared to be regulars and I noted they were treated in a welcoming manner. Also, while I was the first one to order, my order came 40 minutes later, while others who came in after me got their orders earlier. One of my favorite places. The food is so good. Me and my family members have gone here so many times in the past 10 years the owners always ask about our lives and maybe they are extra nice to us and make us special orders that are no longer on the menu. There fried rice isn't my favorite, but they have excellent noodles, appetizers (especially pot stickers and rice paper rolls/fresh rolls) and soup. Some of the best egg flower soup I've ever had! quiet and very casual atmosphere, good hours, and I think they are serving bubble teas now. I have eaten here more than any other restaurant in my life. If you like chinese food but don't want something gross and with msg try this place! Hundreds of times better than the other chinese places around ( peking house, panda inn, great wall) I have never gotten sick here unlike Panda inn :( read more

We walked in at 12:15 pm. There were several tables open, but all were dirty and had not yet been bussed. The hostess left us standing there awkwardly for 10 minutes, rather than letting us know she saw us and it would be a few moments. Eventually she got around to clearing off a table and waved us over. 20 minutes later she finally came to take our order. They clearly need to hire some more help. The food didn't come until 1:05 p.m. By this time my food was only lukewarm. It was obvious it had been sitting awhile. The sweet and sour on my daughter's order tasted like it came from a grocery store bottle. My general tso's was awful. Extremely salty and very little other flavors. The rest of the food was very bland. The price was great at only $6.50 for their lunch specials. This is why they got 2 Stars. Husband and I tried this for lunch. We have passed it for the last 5 years or so and every time said, "hey we should try this place" and this was our first visit. We were welcomed with some very promising jasmine tea. Strong and floral. There was also a Sriracha bottle on the table. Got me revved. I ordered the dry sauteed long beans with chicken and husband tried the 9 flavor beef. I think it's 9... maybe 7. Buncha flavor meats. He ordered his with spring roll, I went for the chicken wings. Okay. Soup came. We both ordered the hot and sour. Very weird. Not bad. Just weird. VERY fragrant. Tasted as if they used hoisin instead of soy. It was oddly sweet. Not unpleasant. But not hot and sour. I was so sad when I reached for the Sriracha. It was in fact Ma Ploy chili garlic sauce. Tasty, but too sweet to add heat with the sauce. Insert frownie face. Main dishes arrived. Dear lordie, where did these wings come from?!?!? They were HUGE! They were battered with the same batter that you get on deep fried shrimp at Chinese places. My plate had two giant wings and they went well with the Ma Ploy in the Sriracha bottle. They were rocket hot, meaty and really nice. Now, these were NOT long beans. They were regular green beans, and they lacked the bit of char that you see in most dry sauteed items, but they were good. The chicken used was all white meat and no gristly bits. Husband's many flavor meats was also a bit odd. Good. But odd. Tasted more like coconut shrimp, sweet like a crumb donut, than beef. Came on a bed of cabbage and sprouts, which I liked. I hate that most Asian places cater to whitey and it's all meat and no veg. I also hate that you get a giant mound larger than your head of food. Remember, every time you complain about portion size, god punches a kitten in the face. If you walk out satisfied and not hungry, it's fine. It's a $4.50 lunch special. It doesn't need to feed you and your family for a week. I do plan on going back. I want to try the pho and see if they really do have duck. Until then... three stars. read more

Pretty disappointed tonight . Was craving the shrimp veggie rice wraps so I dragged my family here at 6 pm and ended up leaving without dinner . We waited a hour before I finally asked where our food was, and so they brought out my rice wraps ten minutes after that and they were mostly noodles ... maybe a small piece of lettuce in them . We then overheard the waitress tell someone we aren't excepting card and their card machine has been down . That was our last straw since we had $10 in cash on us and this was something we should have been told right away when our order was taken. My husband then went to the waitress and said we don't have cash and she asked us to run to a bank ... this was after a hour of waiting on food .. he replied no thanks and he used the ten dollars he had on him and paid for my wraps and left . We will never go back . This was very disappointing , even a man behind us said this has happened a few times before . They clearly need to hire help instead of letting their high school daughter run the front of the place . The card/cash thing was the cherry on top she should have said this upfront . I don't recommend this place at least not until they hire some help . I don't know what everyone thinks is so special about this place. We went there for dinner in the middle of driving from Seattle to Portland. When we walked in, the place was reasonably busy, but it emptied out by the time we placed our order. Even though it wasn't very busy, we still had to wait far too long for them to cook our food. The food itself wasn't very good either. My girlfriend got the Nine Spice Chicken, which was cold and she said tasted like frozen breaded chicken covered in a bad coconut sauce. I ordered the Mongolian Beef with fried rice. The Mongolian Beef was ok, though not as spicy as I expected based on the star next to it on the menu. Mapo tofu is super good here! I asked for a spice level of 3. I was not a fan of their pad se ew. Did taste bland to me... maybe it was because I asked for it without the fish sauce? Great food and service. They offer a wide variety of dishes both mild or spicy. I had the sweet n sour chicken with rice, an egg roll and the hot and sour soup. The soup was delicious with bits of scrambled eggs and tofu. The chicken was covered with a perfectly balanced sweet n sour sauce. The egg roll could have used a little more filling but it was tasty enough to make up for that. Another person at our table ordered the number 7 lunch plate. It looked wonderful and according to him it was very good. It was made with lo mein noodles, pieces of seasoned pork, and slices of cabbage and carrots. He asked that they make it spicy which they graciously did even though it's not offered as a spicy dish. The service was very good and the server was so friendly.
