I've ordered delivery 10 times to give this place a fair shot before reviewing. I've ordered the special spicy chicken, with all rice every time, with the exception of once asking for the Mac salad (which they gave regular salad instead). Out of those 10 times, they delivered the correct order 4 times. Only reason for the second star is because when you actually receive the correct order, the flavors are phenomenal. Gross. Coworkers stopped here after two failed attempts elsewhere and brought me the tofu yakisoba. You can see what I mean below but they just dropped five big chunks of fried tofu on top that are too tough to get through with a steel fork. I ended chomping on those using my fingers. The noodles stick together so either they knew the tofu wouldn't be able to penetrate and distribute in any smaller format or they nefariously serve this dish knowing full well the only parts worth eating are on top for easy access. I picked any of the few vegetables I found in the noodles because whatever sauce they cook them in tastes off. Not spoiled but just ew. I ended up tossing all the noodles after extracting anything resembling something like nutrients in it. The person who takes the order at the cash register is super rude. Keep in mind I'm a nice person, I work in retail and I know how a customer service looks like. I'm not a demanding person I just had trouble ordering my food. She didn't greet or smile and rolled her eyes as I was telling her my order. I get nervous when people act that way. While we're waiting on our meals another African American woman sat next to us waiting for her meal... We had been sitting probably a good 7min before she ordered. I was ready to ask for my money back once I looked around and we were the only table sitting there waiting for our food while everyone else is gone. I've been coming to Soy grill for years and I've had it with their customer service. The food was actually good so that's it why I've disregarded their rudeness all these years. This last time was the last straw. My boyfriend went to buy me food at 7:40, they told him they were closed. First of all you don't close until 8pm. So I went in, I asked why were they closed before the closing hour? She pointed to the sign that said "We can refuse service to anyone" which I didn't understand because why would you refuse me. Earlier tonight I walked inside to order Gyoza, Miso Soup and Pork Egg Rolls. I was told by the Clerk that there wasn't anymore Gyoza or Miso Soup. I ordered Pork Egg Rolls, Calamari, and Coconut Shrimp. I don't order dishes with rice when I go out because I like light soy sauce, and most places don't keep a bottle of it on hand for me. There were a lot of people (nine people) who showed up as I was sitting down at one of the tables to wait. I waited 15 minutes for my appetizers. The Pork Rolls are phenomenal (that means really good). Usually, I don't like Sweet -N- Sour sauces... but, I tasted it for you... it tasted the same as when I tasted it (sweet -n- sour sauce) in the 1970s. I consider most Calamari to be good only if it is breaded with a more palatable (edible) breading/ coating, fried and eaten at the correct temperature. The Calamari was tasty... the sauce is a little spicy. I like spicy. There was a younger woman with darker skin and straight black hair (she wore black eyeliner) who told her two friends (a younger than me darker skinned woman and a younger than me darker skinned man) that I was staring. I don't know why she thought so. I have noticed that when I'm at a location and the people are uncomfortable by my Natural hairstyle (I'm still African-American) certain strangers have "issues" with me. (They seem to be offended by my Blackness.) Nobody else seemed a bit concerned about me being there. The Clerk said my order was ready shortly after 15 minutes. I paid with a card, and I was issued (I got) a receipt for my order. I was asked did I need napkins. I told the Clerk that I was taking my order home. I was also asked when I stepped up to the counter,... "Are you together?" I'm not sure what she meant. So I replied,... "My Husband is in the car." Maybe, the Clerk thought that the darker skinned man in front of me in the line was my S.O. (significant other) or something similar. She seemed a little surprised that I was ordering foods there. I don't know if I would order the Calamari again. I bought the Coconut Shrimp for my Darling Husband. He liked it. I tasted one... it's not one of my preferred foods. My daughter and I went in and ordered dinner. We spent almost $50 and while in the restaurant the cashier name Mia was very rude to my daughter and I as well as the people behind us. It seemed very much like she did not like people of other races. The food was garbage. We got no vegetables in our food as we were supposed to she act like she couldn't explain anything to us. The music was loud and hideous in the background. It was just a very uncomfortable and rude situation to be in, as well as the establishment was very dirty. I called when I got home. Once we open the food to speak to somebody and Mia basically said it doesn't matter who you talk to because they're gonna tell you the same thing I'm telling you and proceeded to say well bye and try to hang up on me, but I kept her on the phone trying to explain to her that her customer service was terrible. She basically said she didn't care. She laughed said she didn't understand what I was telling her, even though she speaks very clear English, and is more Americanize than her own roots. I will be going in tomorrow to speak to somebody about the situation because I definitely want a refund. We didn't even eat our food. We will never go back to this establishment and as you can see a lot of the prior reviews are the same very very very poor customer service very rude. The food was a -10. And I hate to complain, and I even told Mia that I appreciated her working for us in this time, an era of our society but basically she continue to be very ghetto and rude, and basically said that she will tell the other people that work there, and they will just go with whatever she says so I would not recommend this place at all. Beyond disgusting is putting it mildly when you walk in and notice how gross and dirty this place is. There are sauce stains on the walls, black gunk on the bottom of all their gross sticky chairs, the tables are barely wiped down and the floor is horrifying. The ice cream freezer case at the register had half eaten popsicles in it. I had rushed in to order their teriyaki and didn't notice the filth of this restaurant until I had to wait for my order. Omg if it is this gross at the front of the restaurant I can't even imagine what goes on in the back. I would give this a - 1 but yelp is too generous . If we had a true freaking health department this place would be closed down. After I got the food I took two bites and threw it out. Update: stopped in today while on a trip to Home Depot. The chicken was burned and blackened to a crisp, and I had to spit out bites of bone or cartilage six separate times. Ouch. I stop by a couple of times a month, as my massage envy is in the same complex. I usually debate whether to go because of the cons, but convenience often wins. Pros: I love their spicy chicken combo (#2) at $7.95. Service is fast, taking five minutes to receive your order if they aren't busy. 15-20 when they are busy. Cons: The ambience is annoying. For half of my visits, there is super loud pop music in the right ear, while the left ear is treated to nearly-as-loud Mariachi music from the kitchen. On other visits, it's just super loud commercial radio playing songs that were driven into the ground from overplay a year or two ago but just won't go away. With all the loud, annoying commercials, and lots of them. The bathroom is dirty as I write this review, with a 99% empty softsoap container making me work for some liquid and no toilet paper dispenser. The toilet paper dispenser could be fixed in ten minutes with a screwdriver, and Home Depot is literally right across the street, yet it has been broken for over a year. read more

It's a cheap and quick teriyaki place and is decent as far as the taste goes. My favorite is the spicy chicken plate. They don't have the cleanest eating area, as the other reviewer commented on the splattered sauce on the wall, half eaten popsicle in the front freezer. They're still there.. the forks we received were also sticky on the handle. My biggest gripe is the cooking staff is playing different music than the Christmas music they are playing in a cheap radio stereo up front. They were playing reggaeton in the back and all I could hear is the bass line in the background with the cheap sounding audio up front. It makes for a terrible dining in atmosphere. I've noticed this is a trend as well, as this has been the case on multiple occasions. All that said, it would be best to get this meal "to go" to avoid the awful dine in experience. This place provides tasty teriyaki! We like the spicy chicken, regular chicken teriyaki, and their salad that comes with the meals is delicious. We used to go to the Gresham location when we lived there and we were so excited to see them open a new location so close to us. I usually call in our order and the same gal answers the phone. She is always very pleasant and the order takes around 10-15 minutes, perfect for those nights when I don't want to cook! If I could give zero stars I would. Literally the worst customer service I have EVER had. There was a fried fly in the noodle bowl I ordered. I called to see how to go about getting a refund and they accused me of putting the fly in my food, called me psycho and continuously hung up on me along with telling me they are busy and don't have time to deal with my problem. The only option I had is to go take my food back to them, which is not realistic seeing as not only am I a healthcare worker and had this food delivered already, but am not wanting to go into public establishments on my lunch break to put people at risk due to covid.
