I love Spacebar's casual and fun ambiance. If you need a low-key place for a beer and a grilled cheese, this is it. We went right when they opened on a Saturday night and it filled quickly. We loved our grilled cheeses, beers, and tots. Our server was friendly and it was a relaxing meal. Glad we were able to visit.

Unique | turkey & tots | packed Unique - Probably one of the most unique spots I've ever been to. It definitely leans dive bar--but in the best way--with a menu that offers red meat, pork, turkey, and vegan options... but no chicken, which is a rare twist. They also had a solid lineup of non-alcoholic drinks and more than 10 beers on tap. A quirky, memorable place that stands out. Turkey & tots - I went with the turkey sandwich, which was served in a pulled pork style--shredded and flavorful. It came with standard tater tots on the side. The meal hit the spot: I was hungry but not starving, and it was filling and satisfying without being too heavy. Packed - The space itself is fairly small, but always busy. We were staying at the hotel across the street and every time we looked over, it was consistently over 50% full. Clearly a local favorite and worth the crowd. Pro tip: The loaded tots are a crowd favorite--but huge. Bring at least 4 people if you plan to order them, or be ready to take leftovers home.

Spacebar is a slightly nerdy dive bar and I love it. Grilled cheese any way you like it, loaded tater tots and beer....what more could you want? The space is a little small, but they maximize seating at both tables and the bar. It is a seat yourself kind of place. My husband and I grabbed the last available booth and found food and beverage menus already placed at the table. We ordered a couple beers and loaded tater tots with mojo spiced pulled pork. I enjoyed the tropical sour ale called Bel Air, by Brooklyn. My husband enjoyed the Alesmith Speedway imperial coffee stout. I'm not usually all about imperial stouts, but that one was tasty. We also ordered a #2 regular grilled cheese with pulled bbq and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both were delicous. The vibe is very casual and the staff were friendly. They have fairly diverse food and beer options. I'd definitely come back. Thanks for a great experience!

Wide selection of beer on tap. Small, medium, and pint sized glass size available.

5 Stars. Spacebar has its own vibe...like outerspace!! I've heard about this place for years and heard about the grilled cheese, beer and tater tots. We decided to check it out!! This place is unique, one of a kind and cozy vibes. Plenty of beer varieties on tap and canned from hoppy, sours, cider, malty and lighter options. I checked out the menu and order a hard cider and the Cuban grilled sandwich. I knew things were going great when the Chef said...this is my favorite to make! Hot damn!! The sandwich was so yummy. I wanted to eat it all, but I decided to take half home...I'll eat the other half for lunch, lol. The menu is pure comfort food. Staff was super welcoming and friendly. What took it to the next level, the Chef took a lot of pride in making the meal. That was so cool. This is why people come back to places!!! Highly recommend because it's chill, relaxed, and they play nice music.

Spacebar has been on my radar for ages and I'm so glad I went. Very chill and unassuming atmosphere, big selection of beers on tap, and friendly staff. But best of all is the food, mostly indulgent sandwiches and piles of tots. And all of it can be made vegetarian or vegan! The space-o fundito was incredible, as was the plant based meatball sandwich. A great spot.

What a cool place in Falls Church. I went here after Black Friday shopping as a way to decompress from the stressful shopping. The minute you walk in, you're greeted with the sound of emo rock, at least what I've heard of when I walked in. There was Spaceballs playing on the TV; I'm sure it adds to the nostalgia factor. I had the grilled cheese #2 that consisted of Harvati and Gouda cheese along with Tater Tots. I really like that you can see the cooks preparing your food as you admire the ambience. I don't remember the beer I drank but it was pretty good, though I don't think I remember the taste. Both the grilled cheese and the tots were so good, I wish I ordered more. Great value for good food and many beers to try out. This place gets packed easily and I'd even say that parking here is limited. Keep that in mind if you do decide to pay a visit.

Nice bar with a decent selection of alcohol and grilled cheese. It's a little pricey for my liking, but still a decent place to splurge. The bartenders were friendly. It's pretty small inside, so go with a small party.

Falls Church (and NoVa in general) needs more dive bars. Spacebar and its sister bar in Arlington, Galaxy Hut, fill that niche. Spacebar is a small space that could probably stand to be three times bigger. A rotating list of drafts and cans keeps things fresh with fun new selections. Neither bar serves liquor, would be fun to add some cocktails but I'm sure there's some strange Virginia bylaw preventing it. The breadth of the selection of beers, wines, and ciders more than makes up for this, though. Food menu consists mainly of grilled cheeses and tots. Unlike Galaxy Hut, Spacebar is not vegan, but they still provide plenty of vegan and veggie options. The plant-based meatball sandwich at Galaxy Hut is still one my favorite, but the grilled cheese I had here was very tasty. Decor is fun and lightly space themed. TVs behind the bar play old DVDs - my wife and I once watched all of Men in Black while sitting at the bar by reading the subtitles. My only complaints: tough parking sitch, and for some reason, both Spacebar and Galaxy Hut are always a bit toasty inside. Crank up the AC and bribe some of the random businesses next door to share parking and I'd be here every week.

Nothing to say but the nicest things. Best vibe, delish food, and best employees. The guys that work here are genuinely nice and we always love coming here for beer, tots, and sandwiches. Music and movies also add to the positive atmosphere!

The best tots I have ever had. So crispy, airy and not dense. And the basket is HUGE! Can share with 3-4 people. The Choripapa had some veggies for a good crunch balance and Granny Smith had tart apple to round out the saltiness. Limited seating, not good for a large group. The bar seating is the best imo; the bartenders are great

Anybody know if they have cider?

They do- smaller selection than their beers. I am not a beer fan, but the bartender helped me pick a really great sour!

Are there gluten-free tots and grilled cheese here?

Tots are potatoes so no gluten. Grilled cheese comes with bread, but they are flexible so I'm sure they'll find you some gluten free.

How is the parking situation like here? Is there ample parking ? Or only street parking?

True, very little parking, but I've never had trouble during the week if I arrive by 6-6:30pm. Otherwise, I park nearby within a few blocks and walk. There's ample parking by other businesses.

Delivery review ahead…read more I was craving a really good breakfast sandwich and this place delivered just that! When I talk about quality sandwiches, Semicolon cafe wins! The packaging was handled with care so both of my sandwiches arrived nice and hot. I ordered the B.E.L.T and a grilled cheese. The B.E.L.T was a conversation starter, the bread was buttery and smooth-melts right in your mouth after each bite. The egg with corn, never tried that combo but honey, it was fantastic!!!! The bacon was quite generous and prepared with the perfect crisp and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, complementing the sandwich. The sauce on top was a shining star! So much flavor spread evenly throughout the sandwich. My boyfriend loved his grilled cheese sandwich which came with bacon and spinach. Definitely glad that I found this place! Delivery review ahead!…read more I have not yet visited this place in person so I'm unsure how it is inside and how the service is. Delivery: well packaged for a long trip to DC and it remained fresh and hot. Food: Sweet potato tater tots El Lomo Saltado Both of these selections were AMAZING! The sweet potato tater tots were genius! Perfectly prepared, packing flavor in each bite. The El Lomo Saltado was DIVINE! Allow me to break down the flavors: Biscuit: gosh this biscuit was buttery and soft. And yes, the juices from the steak did not make it soggy. But back to the biscuit...the top was flaky and the inside was soft! Soft and buttery. Egg: I asked for a well done fried egg (the main dish contains over easy) the egg was perfectly cooked and delicious. Steak: the steak pieces were generous and the seasoning on the meat...dangerous! There was a slice of provolone cheese melted on the egg and the sandwich also contained pieces of potatoes and tomatoes inside. All of the flavors in this biscuit meshed together so well, making this a reallllllllllllllly good sandwich. Now I'm sold! What other fun dishes can I try on their menu?!

I placed an online order on the evening of 4/21 for my usual -- a Giant #3 with extra meat -- and arrived a few minutes early, which gave me a clear view of the whole process. What I saw was disappointing. The bread was cut incorrectly -- not lengthwise down the center but more like one-third on the bottom and two-thirds on top. That kind of cut doesn't hold up, and by the time the oil was added, the thin bottom half was already soggy. I also don't believe I received the extra meat I paid for. The toppings were applied carelessly -- lettuce scattered across the counter, and the oil and vinegar were poured so haphazardly that the wrapping paper was soaked through before they even got to cutting the sandwich. I'm not writing this to be harsh. I'm writing it because I've always admired this location and would hate to see it slip into the kind of mediocrity that has hurt other spots in the chain. It was clear to anyone watching that neither of these two employees had much investment in the product they were putting in front of the customer. I hope management takes note -- this place is worth caring about.

The guy who made my sandwich, I know he made it, I saw him do it... was confused because he certainly handed off the sandwich down the line. I could barely understand the cashier say they'd make me another one. How does a sandwich just vanish? Coulda been them putting my sandwich in one of the to-go bags, coulda been a random overzealous customer, but it was literally seconds, and it was gone. Anyway. Now that I am thinking about it, I may have gone here once before and wondered what the hype was all about... having had it in Maine, it's a world of difference.
