We happened to be in Las Vegas so I took my wife here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and what an amazing time and experience we had! From start to finish I give it a 10/10!!! I reserved online a few days in advance for a 6pm on a Tuesday with a note asking for patio seating to celebrate our anniversary, and I was pleased they were able to fulfill that request. The patio seating with a great view of Bellagio's dancing fountain takes the experience to a whole new level so definitely try to get patio seating. Our server Nelson was so kind, personable, and attentive and put us in a great mood from the start. Drinks were excellent, perfectly crafted, and even aptly named for our celebration (my wife got the "Whole Lotta Love"). I got the barrel-aged Old Fashioned, strong enough for a fun night without the taste being too overbearing. For the food, my wife got the halibut, and I got the NY strip steak, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that I feel like with every bite we followed it with a "this is sooo good." But what put the dinner experience over the moon was when one of the managers (I believe he introduced himself as Darryl) came over to our table, asked how our dinner was going, wished us a happy anniversary, and then offered us a dessert of our choice on the house! We went with the Spiked Lemon which was very unique from any dessert we've ever had, in a good way! The gentleman that brought it out gave a brief presentation on the dessert (apparently it actually has 24k edible gold!) and asked us if we wanted to take a picture of it first before he cracked it open. With the way the night had already been going, we weren't the least bit surprised that this was also delicious! Before capping off the night, we waited for one more dancing fountain show (I believe it was every 15 min after 7pm) and our server Nelson offered to take our pictures, and he did it paparazzi style to make sure he got at least one good picture which he did! We don't often go to fine and expensive restaurants because we're paranoid that it won't be worth it, but this time we felt it was definitely worth it and more! All-in-all a wonderfully memorable experience and my wife and I already decided that we will go here everytime we find ourselves in Vegas celebrating an anniversary. read more

This was the worst dining experience I've had in a while. We arrived at 5:15 for the pre-theater seating but couldn't get out until 6:50, ten minutes before our show was supposed to start. We even told our waiter that we needed to be out before the show but he didn't seem to hear us. The staff was unfriendly and did not guide us through the menu. My father ordered from the pre-theater menu (another clue to the staff that we were on a timeline) but everyone else ordered form the regular menu. The staff allowed me to order just a pasta dish--this was a huge mistake because it was the size of an appetizer and not at all filling. The kids pasta dish looked like it would have been a more appropriately sized dinner. Further, the corn pasta that I ate was one-toned and would have been better if there was something else on the plate to cut the sweetness. Further, because my father ordered from the pre-theater menu he had dessert coming at the end of the meal. Everyone else ordered dessert to join him, even though we were anxious that we were not going to be able to leave the restaurant in time to make our show. It took so long to even get our desserts that we told the staff to cancel them so that we wouldn't miss our show while waiting for the dessert. This restaurant made me leave anxious and hungry. I would not return--especially if I had theater tickets that night. read more

There are very few things that I can add about the food (amazing!), service (wonderful!) and ambience (incredible!) that haven't already been said. BUT I would like to mention a few "secret" things. If you absolutely, 100% want a view of the fountain (and the view isn't possible from everywhere in the restaurant), then get there when they open. Yes - this means you'll be eating at 5pm (or sometime equally early). But you'll also have the to-die-for view of the fountains. Sure, you can dine later, but then you only get a balcony seat if one happens to be open when your reservation occurs. That said, if you sit outside on the balcony, well, you are outside. Dress appropriately - as in, bring a jacket (if the evening is cool). They do have heaters, but heaters don't really do anything, if it is windy. read more

WOW! Went to prime last week which is below this restaurant and way more of a fine dining feel however failed on execution in a different few ways. However Ben and Alfonzo were our servers here at Spago. Beautiful view to start with, service was absolutely 10/10 through out the entire night. Food truly 10/10 better than PRIME which is double the price. I highly recommend the oysters and tuna tartare for appetizer. For the main meal I had the lobster linguine and filet with two sides. My husband and I went here for dinner on his 60th birthday - at the end of February. I was thrilled we were able to get in the same day for dinner reservations. When we arrived they sat us at a table that looked out over the lake and we could see the water fountain show perfectly. The service was excellent - everything about it was top notch except for the food. We shared the Chicory and Apple Salad. It was the most pathetic salad I ever had. There were two tiny pieces of blue cheese and 4 spicy almonds and the dressing was flavorless. I ordered the fish of the day, which was a type of sea bass, prepared with the skin on. It was just ok, and the spinach was very bland and uninteresting. I was expecting more complexity coming out of this restaurant, since it's Spago ....My husband ordered the New York steak. He said he had better and it had too much gristle, almost rendering it un-edible. The mashed potatoes were excellent... We were prepared to be wowed but instead we were let down. read more

Nearly a perfect meal. Lunch on the patio was literally unbeatable as far as ambiance and view are concerned. Our waiter was incredibly helpful with recommendations, especially when it came to drinks. Our entrees were awesome. We still talk about the dessert. Where I made my mistake was not asking more detail about their dish of the day. It sounded amazing - freshly made pasta with black truffle shavings. It came with no protein, was a lunch menu item, and most dishes on the lunch menu were in the $20-$40 range. Imagine my surprise when the check read $80 for the dish *and* I had to order a separate side of roasted chicken for a protein. So, my mistake for not asking - I would have ordered just about anything else. So many people can't get an Old Fashioned right. They did. My god they did. One of the best I've had and I've tended bar for years. She had the Icelandic Cod 'Hong Kong' style and I kept trying to steal bites from her plate. So many unique flavors and textures and the Cod was cooked perfectly. Dessert was the Spiked Yuzu. I might not have ordered this on my own but the waiter told me to trust him and that we wouldn't be disappointed. I trusted the man and I absolutely was not disappointed. So good, so unique. This place is course known for its balcony with view of the fountain at Bellagio. We didn't want to wait for the balcony and if you want it you should have a reservation. If you are willing to sit anywhere wait times are reasonable. The food and drinks are really well prepared and everything we had was delicious. However it is quite expensive, 25 dollars for a sandwich or pizza. I had a steak salad and someone else had a pasta dish at our table and there was a pizza. Service is excellent despite being quite busy. I would definitely recommend this place to out of town visitors with the caveat it's overpriced. But if you have a view like they have you can charge it and people will pay it. The fountains are amazing. read more

I celebrated my birthday at Spago and had a wonderful time. We were seated on the balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountain, so this really set up a special mood. The food was also great, all perfectly prepared. We ordered the smoked salmon pizza which is iconic, the tuna tartare, two different pastas (squid ink and sweet corn), and a 52oz Tomahawk steak. The pizza was great, with the perfect ratio of salmon to dough. The tartare was average - it was tasty but also nothing unique. The pastas were perfectly cooked, and were bursting with flavor. We had a good contrast between the lighter tomato sauce and seafood with squid ink, and the richer and sweeter corn. The special of the day was a 52oz Tomahawk steak, cooked with butter and garlic. The fat captured the flavors perfectly, and it was presented to us whole before being cut up to be easily shared/eaten. I'm not sure if this is served often, but if it's available, it's a great option for meat-lovers! For dessert, the chocolate soufflé came out in a very timely manner (surprising, given that most restaurants request a 20-30 minute advanced notice), and it stayed fluffy. I have always wanted to see the fountains at the Bellagio. I had been looking forward to this trip for months. We were watching the fountain at the end of the night and we heard yelling, cursing and screaming from an angry woman. We thought maybe someone was about to get into a fight so we left the restaurant in a hurry. On our way out we saw and heard it was the bartender yelling. This was a very strange and disturbing end to what would have been an otherwise been a very special night. read more

Ordered bread to start and as main entrees, Butternut Squash Ravioli and Spaghettini Pomodoro. Both are an absolute must try. Full of flavor, pleasing presentation and overall savory dishes. I been eyeing this restaurant and been on my to do list in Vegas. I came here for a 9:15pm reservation; got seated in the booth near the fountain. Great dinner and even better view, of the famous Bellagio fountains. If you really enjoy watching the fountains as much as I do, you can't go wrong with dinner on the patio at the Bellagio. It's open year-round with heaters to keep you warm on those cooler winter nights. We enjoyed dinner here one night while on our recent stay in Vegas. We started with drinks in the bar while we waited for our table to be read. The rose (by the glass) that they serve is outstanding. Crisp and dry - just like I like it. We asked for recommendations from the bartenders on their favorites and decided to do the smoked salmon pizza as a starter and shared a plate of the pasta cavatelli lamb bolognese. First, let me just say. That pizza. Holy cow. It was incredible. The dill cream sauce, the capers, all of it. It was so amazing I've thought about recreating it at home. It was pretty filling too. We also munched on the bread plate they bring as an accompaniment. The red pepper flatbread crisps are just delicious. We're not "big eaters" so we shared an entree. The portions are not large, but once it was set in front of us, we dug in so fast with our forks I forgot to get a "pre-fork" photo. Oh well, you will get the idea. The lamb bolognese is so ridiculous thick, rich, and full of flavor, I can't even really describe it. I just know that if I am ever back in Vegas, I can only hope it's still on the menu because it was pretty outstanding. Our server was a bit busy when we got there was he was triple sat (I saw it happen and thought, "Uh Oh."). He was a bit frazzled at first and sincerely apologized for it at the end of our meal. But he was still very attentive and leaned to the rest of the staff to keep things going - which is what a good service and a GREAT team does. We always look for a great experience in dining and overlooking the fountain was going to be the best at Spago. Online reservation was quick and when we arrived at 6 and asked to be seated outside. They said within the hour when people leave we can be seated and it was like under 30 minutes. Great table not along the rail but in the middle. The waiter was great when he was around. The seafood tower was by far the best. Incredible fresh taste and delicious mussels and oysters. The wagyu steak was better at Costco and cooking yourself. Prime rib was good but nothing special. The drinks were good with the old fashioned. The other cocktail gave my wife a headache which is usually a sign of cheap alcohol. The worst was yet to come. I am embarrassed to even type this but it was quite bizarre. My sugar free iced tea came after all the other drinks were served and during the seafood tower after I asked for it. There is nothing special with their iced tea btw. After the 1st refill I asked for a 2nd. I asked once, twice, and a 3rd time! Nothing. After desert they asked for coffee and I said just my iced tea please. Nothing. I asked 2 people, one of them twice. We never saw our waiter again. I wanted to ask for a take out iced tea as I walked out but really did not want to be a 4th miss. Oh, Tiramisu sucked. No cake, just chocolate and ice cream. Very hard to choke down when you have drank all the water on the table and no iced tea! Next time we will try one of the other restaurants with the view. read more

I would definitely recommend the balcony seating for any special occasion because the water show was so beautiful and romantic! As foodies from Napa Valley, we were very excited to try the brunch at Spago, however the quality & taste of the food overall was nothing special. The crab omelette had very little crab per bite (if any) and the French toast was good, but not great. The Bloody Mary was watery and tasteless, and the other "brunch beverages" were overall sweet with a soft poor. The service, location and views earned the three stars, food and drink alone would have been two at best. Frankly, nothing we tried was worth the price tag associated with the name. read more

I was always a fan of Spago when it was at the Forum Shops, its actually one of the first places my husband took me on a date. I was excited to see the new redesign of Spago. Been here a handful of times, overall good experiences. I recommend Glenn for dinner service and Mario for lunch service. Both very good attitudes. I am disappointed to say that I brought my friend for a lunch, we were initially given Joseph. I've honestly never had an experience with a waiter like that on the strip in a long time. It was to the point where he flat out was rude to where I was about to walk out of the restaurant. 1:30 we sat down, looked at the menu ordered a drink and appetizer, and asked a few questions. I was disappointed to see the lunch burrata removed, I had just joined a few days prior for dinner and ordered the burrata salad. So when I asked about it, he just flat out said no, I get it but thats one of the dishes I come to the restaurant to have, I get its on the dinner menu but to not be able to even ask the kitchen to accommodate was a little disappointing. Our shrimp appetizer came out, we finished it and by 2:00 neither has my drink NOR the waiter (Joseph) came back. He did however stop at the table of 4 next to me 3 times, even tho we sat down first. We had to flag someone down to get him to come back which I requested another server and his response was "well i'm here now whats your order". Mind you my favorite dish here is the white truffle pasta, i've ordered it every time ive come so far (4 times), so I am full aware of the price. But it was nice to be reminded condescendingly my Joseph of the price. This is actually the first time someone has ever even told me the price of the dish. Maybe we just looked like we couldnt afford it?? This was the point we were ready to walk out. I walk to the front desk approached by someone who is a ... manager maybe? Too bad no one offered any apology until we got our next server Mario. He turned the mood around for the lunch, we actually placed 3 more orders with him. Wild mushroom pizza, spiked lemon dessert and souffle were all delicious. Surprised to see a good tea selection as well. Considering I ate here twice in one week little disappointed with how that was handled but hey, it is what it is. Amazing location, beautifully presented food, and overall great service. We dropped by before the earlier showing of O to make a reservation after the show and they had plenty of availabilities for us. The show ended earlier than we thought, but they were still able to seat us without a problem. We weren't able to get a table right by the windows, overlooking the fountains, but we still caught glimpses of show from our view. The shows lit up the place and added a lot of magic to the ambience throughout the evening. All of the food was absolutely delicious and plated thoughtfully and beautifully. I really loved the octopus appetizer--it was so tender and paired more uniquely than I've seen it before. We ordered the sweet pea agnolotti and Jidori chicken, both of which were equally delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and complimented the rest of our experience at Spago. Overall, Spago is an upscale restaurant that serves delicious food in a wonderful atmosphere, and was one of the highlights of my Vegas trip. read more

Walked into Spago for lunch, the two of us and sat on the patio. It was a mild afternoon and every table full. The food was solid as expected. The mushroom soup was very Delicious and poured into your bowl table side. I think if I came back, I would sit in the inside dinning room. Its a beautiful space. On the patio other than fresh air and the view of the Bellagio lake......I think inside would have been better. Maybe its because the tables are very close together and the server station is right next to the tables. It just felt weird or maybe it was the server's vibe. My husband and I planned to come to Spago for our anniversary dinner. We asked for a table by the window or out on the patio.. I wanted it to be something special. What I actually got when we arrived, was told that they didn't have our reservation. I had to pull out my confirmation, and then they were able to find us a seat.. I'm thankful for that, considering they were booked up that night. The next thing that irritated me was that there was a really, really loud and obnoxious group of people next to us who were cussing and shouting, and just being disturbing to everybody in the place. It was a level of disrespectful thatI would expect management to step in and ask them to quiet down, but nothing was done and so the entire experience was pretty much ruined. I did give two stars because the food we got was actually pretty darn good. The ambience would've been halfway decent If the obnoxious party next to us hadn't been there, the restaurant needs some renovating though. It's kind of rundown looking and the tables are all scratched up and doesn't look like a fine dining restaurant.. get some tablecloths or something. Also, it didn't look like the dress code was being followed, which is a bummer because my husband and I dressed up and came looking very nice. But there were people there in baseball caps, and all kinds of casual attire. It was generally disappointing experience. I won't be coming back, that's for sure. read more

We've dined at a wide variety of Vegas staples over the years, and I am not exaggerating when I say the linguine "fra diavolo" at Spago is the best thing I have had anywhere on or off the strip. The moment you walk into the restaurant and see the decor and the table settings without table cloth, there's only one word you think of "cheap". The music they choose to play hear gives you a headache. No this is not the Spago you find in Beverly Hills, this is the cheap cafe version. Service is one of the worse I've ever experienced, not exaggerating! The servers love to shout at you not because they're angry but because Spago Vegas hires untrained employees that have a habit of throwing plates on the table in front of you in a violent manner. I don't think servers here deserve a tip because they literally give you the I don't care attitude. Food is not up to any standard. Chef Matt has no clue how to prepare bread, argued with me that Croissant is "bread", I literally laughed so hard. Wolfgang you hired this guy without testing his cooking skills right as a joke lol. Chef Matt can't even make Wolfgang's signature Salmon Pizza correctly. Salmon is already off color, definitely not fresh. The pizza dough is dry and hard and from a technical stand point I can tell the dough was never prepared correctly. The Chef doesn't even know how to prepare churned butter, instead chose to use cheap disgusting single pack foil wrapped butter similar to McDonald's except McDonald's standard of quality is higher than Spago's new Chef Matt. In summary you don't qualify to even be a Sous Chef. And especially with an arrogant attitude it magnifies his poor culinary skill. read more

i had been waiting to go to this restaurant for a long time, especially since I'm a big fan of WP Grill located at the MGM Grand. The grill has always been good, with great selection of food and despite the price increase it's still worth it. Spago however was disappointing. With the reservation and website , dress code is mentioned ... it irks me when people still show up with " resort casual" have some respect for yourself and the people who work at the restaurant. The service wasnt as good for a pricey place. Menu was linited, some items weren't on the menu unless you were in the know. For $420 dinner for two , nothing was memorable. As locals we are always on the search for outdoor patio dining. After an unwelcoming greeting at Lago, we ventured here. Although there were no tables in the shade, we opted for full sun seating due to the lower temperatures. Great service by all. Had a few beverage and food mishaps, which were rectified. What we did not expect was our lunch to be "on the house". Way to turn around a few unfortunate things. Beyond satisfied with our experience at Spago last night. Originally wanted to go to Hell's Kitchen but found out they were completely booked for the night we wanted to go. Spago had an opening later during the night but decided to go with it as everything looked delicious and the reviews were amazing. The food was amazing but what made the experience for me was the excellent service! I have to mention Paul because without him the night would not have been as great as it was. Originally got seated inside but he asked us before he took our main course order if we'd like to enjoy it outside watching the Bellagio water show.
