I have been using TW for over a year. I used to have the whole package: TV, Internet, and phone. I cancelled the phone and got myself a Vonage service and that's when I realized that TW sabotages Vonage service. I have no issue using Skype or Google Hangout but when I use Vonage, people on the other end can only hear bits and pieces of what I am saying. Switching to Uverse, hopefully I will have a better lock with them. read more

So Time warner was ok while I had their service but when i cancelled service and then returned equipment, 2 months later they tell me i owe $70 for equipment and that they cannot track what i returned. Also that I should have kept the receipt, look lady its been 2 months who keeps a receipt for 2 months. I signed up for installation of all services 2 weeks ago. Today two days before the installation I get a robo call that I need to pay over $400 to the installation tech. I call to question this and the service rep tells me that she has to cancel my appointment for no reason. I had cleared my schedule with work to meet this time, and had previous service cancelled. I was told that my credit check came out bad so I have to "hurry" into a store with ID and money to try to get another appointment. I go in and nothing was available for 4 more days. The problem was my Experian credit check. I contacted Experian and got my credit report and there is nothing that is a potential negative issue. This appears to be a lie to get me to pay a huge deposit and a month up front. I feel very tricked by TWC and really a dishonest scheme. Most people are just returning stuff but after the transaction is complete, you can see the people behind the counter move at snails pace to stack the modems/DVRs/cables in the cabinets behind them. Stopped by on a Saturday recently to drop off a modem and ask for help because their tech came by earlier in the morning to help activate my new digital adapters but knocked out my entire internet in the process. Room was packed with very sad looking people and the wait was almost a full hour. However, once I was speaking to the guy at the counter, he was helpful and had another tech out to my house in just an hour or so to get the internet back up. Time Warner has been really dreadful in the past but I can see that they are improving and trying to do better. The techs that came to my home were nice and professional, even if the first one was incompetent. The second one figured out the problem and fixed it fast. The first guy interrupted the signal which caused my modem to bug out. Second guy just had to unplug the modem and wifi router and plug them back in. Now I know. read more

My first day internet installation was prompt and efficient. Service tech told me wireless was free with my ultra package. Viewed my bill online same day, and was charged 9.99 for the install and 5.00/mo for the service. Took 36 min talking to their customer service only to be told my service tech was wrong. Welcome to Spectrum I guess. I spoke to a manager who needed me to threaten switching back to ATT before he would waive the little 9.99 install fee. Still will charge me the 5.00 for wireless. Normally my experience with Time Warner (now Spectrum) has been pleasant, but recently I have had an extremely poor experience with customer service at the Rancho Penasquitos (San Diego) office I went into the Spectrum store Initially there was a long queue of 10 people with one person assisting customers at the Spectrum store, so we decided to leave and have a quick lunch. Queues at this particular store has always been extraordinarily long. By the time we got back, three people were assisting. This did make the queue shrink to only one remaining person left queue. This happened to be me. Once two of the three employees finished with their customers, they left the customer counter and headed to a back area which is closed off to customers. Here is the problem, knowing that I am the only one left in the queue, as a customer, you would think that they would help that last person? The answer today was "NO!". The problem is that not only did they leave, there was no acknowledgement that I was present and that someone would assist me shortly. I continued to wait but was steadily getting more upset as additional minutes passed. When I confronted Jamina the "lead" on the service, she was a bit sarcastic and threw in my face that "California Law" requires employees lunch. She also says to me, "What do you want me to do about it?" Does she think I am that stupid? Of course they need breaks. I am not disputing that. All they had to do was let us know that it was going to be a few more minutes before someone assists us, or help the last person in the room before going on a break. Also, please work on your customer service and help your customers, especially when they take an hour+ of their day to come wait at the Spectrum office. To answer her question regarding "what to do about it", in the future, focus on customer service and be empathetic to your loyal and paying customers, especially when they spend over 2000 + dollars a year on your service. read more

UGH. On chat forever with Spectrum, only needed basic cable and phone for my mom in a Senior home. Nothing basic, cost is $59.99 plus cable box at $4.99 each plus taxes and fees and than another $34.99 to set up and they can come July 6th. How do seniors enjoy TV and a phone call at these rates and we have no choice. Hate the Cable services we have in San Deigo, all about the money and not about the service. read more

I was a little upset that I had to drive far from my house to return the equipment after being directed to the wrong addresses but as soon as I got there Drew rocked it. My service was planned to start from 03/29/2017. But due to some technical issue, I couldn't have any signal for TV, internet, or phone at all. So, on 04/01/2017 technician came and he said the cable outside my house is not connected to the cable at home, which needs more professional repair on another service. Namely, still no signal or no service at all. I scheduled another service but due to my own schedule I had to postponed (2nd appointment on 04/12/2017) and reschedule it. At last on 04/29,2017 (First day of the 2nd billing cycle) another more "professional" technician came and fixed it and the service started. However, on 04/23/2017 (due date for the 1st bill payment) I called the CSR and asked for waiver of the 1st bill, because I had no signal or service for the entire billing cycle. Rather, the CSR asked me to pay the 1st bill and then it would be fully credited to the 2nd bill. I requested for confirmation number for this promise, which was declined with CSR's word that because she input the issue and promised credit under my account, such confirmation number is unnecessary(???). HOWEVER, Spectrum is denying such notes or promise at all. Instead Spectrum is claiming that because it "attempted" to repair the issue which was rescheduled, it cannot give me any credit after the "attempted" repair date (2nd appointment on 04/12/2017). Namely, Spectrum's billing policy is unbelievably "creative" or insane. Spectrum charges its "attempted (but cancelled later)" repair. In other word, its logic sounds like that if its tech had visited my house on 04/12/2017, then the cable service would have started from 04/12/2017 (Then how about my "attempted" appointment to repair the issue on 04/01/2017, which turned out a failed attempt due to your incompetent technician? If your technician had repaired the issue on the 1st visit, then I would not have had such no signal, no service problem for the rest of the billing cycle at all.) . Therefore, the supervisor in CSR department claimed that such [imaginary] repair "attempt" negates its own CSR's promise of full credit. In conclusion, my 2 cents: (1) Record conversation when contacting Spectrum's CSR (with consent of the CSR). (2) Think twice, when you reschedule the service appointment. Spectrum loves to charge for its "attempt" to repair. read more

Liar Liar Liar !!! Exactly a year ago a Spectrum salesperson came to my door and sold me on their Internet/phone/cable package with a promise that my bill will ONLY go up by $10/mo after the first year and than $20/mo but will stay the same monthly charges for next two years. Well that was a total lie. The bill kept creeping up by $2-$5 almost every other month and when I called them they told me it was the rental rate for the "equipment" that I had plus some unknown gov't fees! Anyway, I lived with it because it was too much work to change. Than finally my bill jumped almost $40/mo on the 1st year anniversary of my subscription! Wow ....$40/mo ......is this a joke ? I called the customer service immediately and they gave me a simple one liner....take it or leave it. He made NO EFFORT to retain me. So I did. I left them and switched to their competitor ,at least for a year. When I called them to disconnect, off course they gave me a whole bunch of song and dance and a whole bunch of lies about the company I switched to. However, I didn't fall for it. I began with Southwestern Cable TV way back when. It became Time Warner some time ago. I got sick and tired of techs telling me that the tiling and outages were MY fault! They blamed my "bad wiring" though I paid for someone from TWC to come out and replace the wiring. Customer service? ABYSMAL! I bailed to DISH, then ATT. All of them are secretive about prices, dishonest about what the real charges every month: fees, surcharges, equipment charges, etc. Channels disappeared from the line-up and were transformed into "pay channels." I took my equipment back into the local 92129 office and had to wait over 2 hours until a rep waited on me. They didn't seem to care if I left. No one asked me why. I find all three major companies are greedy, dishonest and secretive about prices. It's our "public servants" who give them the OK to gouge us. read more

I would give this service negative stars if I could. We used TWC for two years. We had a bundle that included a land line, wifi and cable. With two premium channels, our monthly bill was $250! The Internet was increasingly s l o w despite our service being the top of the line speed-wise and forget about reliability during peak usage hours! Repeated calls for assistance yielded nothing but excuses and no resolution. I cancelled service last week and had another provider install. If I had any doubts about the decision to change, the TWC person who handled my cancellation call was extremely rude! We are so happy to be rid of this terrible service!! read more

Great store, great rep. Arrived at store last Saturday at noon to exchange cable box/dvr because the old one had died. Waited 4 minutes while rep completed a call. Store was cool, pleasant, and plenty of comfortable seating. The rep, Sonya, was extremely helpful. She exchanged out the box, and then got me a new cable modem (return the old one when you get around to it) and all new wires including a new HDMI cable. Sonya then discussed advantages/disadvantages of different internet speeds. She gave me the number for tech support to help set up my new box. She couldn't discuss packages or priced to reup my service, but encouraged me to discuss with "retention" sales person and gave my a number. I was braced for the worst, but had a very pleasant experience. BTW there were two reps there so if it had been crowded the wait would have been longer. read more

For years I have been paying $54.99/mo for a premium internet connection. It turns out , I was only getting the standard speed. The sales person had no problem adjusting my bill to the lower rate I should have been paying, but said they could not help me with the past bills. I think that I was not provided with the service I was paying for, so feel like I was defrauded. I asked for someone to contact to complain, but have been on hold for a long time. If I had a choice for internet provider, I would never choose Time Warner Cable. read more

I was fully prepared for Dante's 9th circle but my experience could not have been more pleasant. I walked in on Friday morning at 11:15 and there was zero wait time. In fact, 3 of the 4 associates had no customers. I swapped out my old DVR box for a new one, saved $20/month (just asked) with no reduction in service but gained higher speed for Internet. Darn it, one of my favorite companies to hate has just served me the way I had only hoped. read more
