I am surprised that I am one of the 2 anomalies that have experienced good service. But then again, most people will write the "not great" reviews over the "positive" reviews especially since this is a customer service based as opposed to food service. This Spectrum Store is located on the other side of the Trader Joe's on Imperial, and is across from the Sit 'n Sleep Mattress Store. With any Trader Joe's locations, the parking is always not great so it also translates into limited parking for Spectrum Store customers as well. Most of the time, unless urgent, I always make a reservation because then I know that I will hopefully be helped within a certain time frame. There is a tablet for customers to check-in for their reservations, right as one steps into the store. There is a monitor (to the right) that will show where the reserved party is, or where the walk-ins are. The employees will call your name and one will head to their kiosk. Most of the time I go, I do not have to wait too long (maybe 30 mins max one time on the weekend with a reservation), which makes sense since most people will be stopping by when they are not working. We've always had our questions answered and treated with respect. Yes, they are busy and people come in with questions in regards to their multitude of services (internet, mobile, cable, and phone). Yes, some customers ahead of you may ask many questions, or may not know how to ask their question for the answer they are looking for, and the wait time does take a bit longer. For certain things, I find it easier to stop by a Spectrum store to get my answers (sometimes) than to call their help line, which is not bad also because it is always a U.S. based customer service representative who answers. read more

I came here to return outdated equipment. I had an appointment for 12:30 but decided to head in early and I'm glad I did. Several people were already waiting outside before the doors even opened. I can see this place being very chaotic and why it's got terrible reviews. Employees don't stop people from cutting in line. Parking is awful because of the shared lot with a very busy Trader Joe's. read more

I had been having intermittent issues with my Spectrum internet connection. I made an in-store appointment (much faster than walk-in as there were 6 people waiting). I was called right at my appointment time. Janet, the service representative assessed my issue and provided me with an upgraded equipment exchange at no additional cost. Janet was very professional and kind. Made the whole experience very pleasant. read more

Only open 5 hours and there were 2 employees for a room full of people waiting. Employees had zero sense of urgency. They wasted more time trying to sell people on services they didn't want or needed. For 5 min there was a third employee that came out. So of course one had to leave the store. Do better spectrum. read more

VERY slow service. It was like watching paint dry. It's a great place if you have trouble falling asleep. This will cure that issue.

This review is about internet service in general. The retail store in itself is not really to blame but to the management of the Spectrum company that delegate technical support on the service feed and transmission. The Spectrum internet works fine when it's up and running. Unfortunately i work second/swing shift. When i get home i plan on using my internet, watch tv, or use the phone. And what do you know, the maintenance always takes place at my time of the day, midnight till 5 AM. Why can't they service the internet in the daytime like every other occupation? In daylight maintenance workers can be more effective and see better, not at night time. Will Spectrum refund me my money on service that's not available to me when i need to use it? They don't even communicate to their customers on service time letting them know the service we pay for will not be available at a such in such time and day. :( read more

For internet you're not signing up for a "utility service" you're actually signing up for a "monthly subscription" which means if you cancel on the second day of billing you're still paying for the entire month. Horrible location. They put 1-2 people on the floor with a 16+ people waiting list. I was #5 on the list when I came in and got helped at about the 1 hour mark only to be told they couldn't help with the closure of my account. From what I heard by one of the customers in front of me, a lot of people left because the wait was ridiculous. A lot of people ended up leaving during my time there as well. From my observation there were 4 people on shift with one manager. Manager mostly stayed in the back and two out of the four took their lunch break at the same time. They took turns taking breaks so there were only 2 workers at most on the floor to help customers. Manager came out to help when there came a point where only one employee was in the front taking care of the customers. Unfortunately, I ended up being "helped" by the manager and I was shocked by how she handled herself professionally. I have no idea how this individual got her title and position as manager. She was rude and extremely unprofessional with her snarky and short responses. Spectrum services also obviously suck, which is why I ended up canceling my home and business services after being a loyal customer for 10+ years. It just got ridiculous how hard it was to get through to anyone via phone which is why I went into the store, but the experience wasn't any better in store. read more

Went to the Brea store to return 1 cable box and disconnect the internet, the guy at the counter looked like he was in training, kept calling a woman name Liz for help. I explained about 5 times I wanted to disconnect the internet service and return 1 cable box keeping the rest of the service. Liz didn't even ask why I was disconnecting, didn't even try to keep me as an internet customer. I asked questions about my bill and she was not polite, only told me I had a $22 discount and the bill would be $232, without that discount total would have been $292. I looked at her thinking " are you stupid"? $292 minus $22 is not $232, but she kept working at removing the equipment and ignoring me. She Barely answered my questions. I asked about the Entertainment View package, she told me I couldn't have it because I needed internet, WHAT? . I explained to her we had the cable with internet from another company, it didn't make sense what she was explaining. After about 45 minutes I took my receipt for the returns and left. I came home not convinced of what Liz had told me, I contacted spectrum and to my surprise this woman did not stop the internet service, and when I asked about the package I wanted the lady on the phone told me she could add it, didn't understand why Liz from brea would lie to me and not stop the internet charge. I will be contacting the corporate office with this complain . Who knows how many customers spectrum has lost due to inepts like Liz. read more
