I didn't have high expectations, but Justin knocked it out of the park for me. The service was quick and there wasn't any attempt to add on a ton of extras. Pardon me( I should know his name) but the gentleman who has helped me several times has been more than helpful. Ran into him today even though he wasn't helping me with my car but he made light conversation that was really sweet! Made me feel like he (the business) cared. Above and beyond service getting to know your customers ! They aren't pushy when it comes to getting you to buy into what your car needs. Dropped in here today for an oil change and had a great experience. Sandra and Justin were the best; friendly, helpful and informative. Justin went above and beyond for me to answer my questions about the type of oil that would be best for my car. He even went as far as to look up specifics on the computer to give me a more accurate estimate for the cost. On top of everything he even had Sandra honor my coupon for a "conventional" oil change, when I actually needed synthetic. Goes to show you how much I know about cars and definitely shows you that these employees have our best interests in mind. Oh and they even vacuumed my car and cleaned my dirty windows, filled my window washer fluid, checked my coolant and a bunch of other things! AND finished everything in about half an hour! I took my fathers car in for an oil change today, Sunday, and Speedee was open. I chose this location/service station because it was convenient. The receptionist was very nice and polite (I did not speak to any of the technicians, but I didn't need too) I told them I just needed an oil change and they did not try to up sell me on anything. I was in and out in approximately 25 minutes. I S checked in on my Yelp app and received $5 off the total. Overall I had a very good experience and will look to use this shop for oil changes on my own vehicle in the future. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff, unreasonable prices. We had our car towed there because it wouldn't start, and the staff was able to help us very quickly without an appointment. The job was done in a short amount of time- 2 hours for a starter replacement. The main problem we had with this place was the flat $125 fee they charge to diagnose the problem. Whether the diagnosis takes 5 minutes or 3 hours, they charge $125. We've never experienced this before at a Midas, and I'm essentially writing this review to warn other people about this before going in. read more

They lived up to the stereotype of terrible rip off mechanic service.. They told me that it would take up to an hour and a half to complete service. I was told service would begin right away. My car sat for 2 hours before they started to work on it. Within the next hour of me waiting for my vehicle repair I observed at least 3 customers walk in have their car serviced and walk out while I continued to wait. I also witnessed a mechanic upsell unecessary $10 each platinum spark plugs and an unecessary extra fee for a diagnostic check to both male and female customers. They worked on my car for 20 minutes then let some young man squeegee my windows, who left pools and streaks of dirty mud water all over my vehicle. Staff members leaned on my car while talking on the phone and telling each other stories for another 20 minutes before I got my vehicle returned. I would expect this type of service on Florin or Franklin but not on Elk Grove. read more

I took my car there after calling for a quote and when I arrived they upped the price by $20 bucks. When I asked what happened to the quoted price the technician got so confrontational. I went to SpeeDee Oil Change on Elk Grove Blvd in Elk Grove. I love SpeeDee Oil Change. I love them because I can go get a regular oil change and they will tell me more information about my vehicle than I would expect to get back. I like with their inspections they will let know if they see anything else that the owner/driver should be aware of. That way, even if you don't get them repaired or fixed now, you know what you will need to get taken care of in the near future and knowing is half of the battle. Even though I do not like that they offer to sell you what you need, at least they don't make you feel like they are saying something is wrong just so they can sell you the item. I went to get some air in my tire on my lunch break and as soon as I drive up I asked if they can put air in my tire and a gentleman named Mario helped me and he said sure pull up and as he was putting air in my tire he noticed a nail in it. He let me know they can fix it if I was willing to stay and I said yes. They had fast service and did not try to sell me anything extra. First time to SpeeDee oil change. Went in with a 29.00 coupon. First thing, I needed synthetic oil. Price jumped to 79.99. Then an extra 15.00 for a filter because of my canister filter. Now we are up to 95.00. Then when the car is finished, charged an extra 19.50 for 1.5 quarts (I needed 6.5, they cover 5). Total price (not counting tax) was 114.49. So how did we go from 29.00 to 114.49??? 85.00 dollars more than advertised??? Mobile 1 5W-30 synthetic is $5.00 per quart at any store. An oil filter for my car is $5.00. I know I am paying for convenience...but they already included conventional oil and filter in the 29.00 price. I was charged an extra 85 bucks for products that retail at $37.50. I will not be back to SpeeDee as I don't believe in misleading business practices. BTW - The staff was very friendly, professional and the car was done promptly. read more
