This shop over filled my oil, ruining my vacation, and costing us money. I complained and got an apology from corporate management. The local shop called me days later, but didn't leave a message. I complained again, and the owner, "JR" called back two days later. When he called back, all he wanted to do was defend that he had called the first time. I could tell by his tone of voice that he did NOT want to offer an apology, and was obviously put up to it by his corporate masters. He begrudgingly offered me a free oil change. No word as to whether or not there was any damage done, no offer to make it up to me and and my family. Nope, just a free oil change. My car good conditon not making noise went there for a change oil.They suggest to change my belt. reason a small crack . within 24 hour it's start making noise . went back . they dont know what causing the problem, they just say maybe its a bad belt!!. used it for a couple days and come back,.. SQUEAKING more an more.Then back again they change belt second time.. . I took my husband's truck to Speedee for a Major Tune Up. The Shop Manager asked many questions to make sure I was getting the right tune up. Received several calls to update me on the truck, and additional services I might want to consider, etc. Very friendly and helpful. They even stored the truck overnight because i was unable to get back to the shop before they closed. They brought the truck into one of their bays and locked it up for additional security. While I was greeted in a timely manner by Ken, the manager, and he told me he "saw" that I'd had a coupon for $10.99 off oil change and that it should be 40 minutes until completion, an hour at the most- it took 1.5 hr. Then when I went to pay at the counter this snarly faced woman who acted as tho I was interrupting her day would not honor said coupon unless I had a barcode. When she summoned ken, he acted as though he did not recall telling me that he had seen the coupon. I just felt that the interaction became very unprofessional, especially when I parked my car across the street to come back inside and wait with my grandma while her car was being finished and snarl-face asked me what I was doing back in there. Needless to say I will never be back. What in the world happened to customer service? My mind is blown on a daily that people like this can hold down a job. Fired. read more

Located on a busy intersection close to I-80, this place gets busy early mornings. I've learned to go mid-day to avoid the long lines. The place is clean (and smells clean, too) compared to other oil change and car repair shops I've used in the past. Customers can use their locked toilet/bathroom by requesting the key at service desk. The car maintenance technicians always go to the customers to go over the list of things they've done to the vehicles and inform the customer of recommended services for that particular year/make /model per their service record. I've been using Speedee since at least 2006 for most of my vehicle service needs. I went there for a 30k mile service (or 60k) and one of the technicians forgot to put the lid back on the radiator properly and after a week of driving, the car ran out of coolant found me on the side of I-80 towards Sacramento needing a tow back to Speedee. I was afraid Speedee would blame me for not checking under the hood before driving off, but the owner came to apologize to me and assured me everything would be done to make it right: Speedee paid for towing, car rental, a new engine and a complimentary oil change after 3k miles. I've been a loyal customer since 2006. The owner is usually very busy with paperwork, but if he ever reads this review: thank you, sir, for being so kind to a stressed single mom who was going thru a very difficult time in 2006. I appreciate the kindness and the efficient work done every time I come in for a service. read more

Needed an oil change for the chariot. They are open on Sunday which was a plus. Got there when they opened and they had me out in a half hour. The technician went over what they were doing to the car - nothing major needed. Oil filter changed, plus 17 point inspection. Free wifi in the lounge and decent coffee. The main reasons for the two stars was the lack of staff initiative to protect valued customers and perceived deception. The first issue arose upon paying for the oil change. One customer began yelling insanely at another customer because their preteens were walking around a bit and knocked over a small book. The altercation was rather scary and the receptionist, who witnessed the whole episode, did nothing. I understand that you do not want to stop a situation like this but this is your job/business and that type of behavior should not be tolerated towards your valued customers even if its by another customer. The second issue came when the mechanic recommended I change my cabin and engine air filters. I came to SpeeDee-Midas for an oil change. I used the $29 yelp coupon and they checked my car for other issues. After changing my oil, they recommended that I change my cabin and engine air filter. They left my cabin air filter out to show me how dirty it was but I declined to have either changed. I believe it would have been an additional $60-70 total to change both. Once I left I felt like I had received a great deal (although it was expensive, the place had good quality service) but was still debating the filter situation. I had to figure out how to put the filter back into the car so I went on the almighty youtube. Turns out, the whole process is super easy on my car and the filter would only cost ~$12. SWEET! So i looked up the engine air filter and the process was also easy and the part was ~$16. Long story short, I changed these filters myself for a total of ~$30. When i changed the filters I found that the engine air filter didn't really need to be changed at all. A s a matter of fact, it seemed like it had just been changed and I doubt Midas did it for me. IT is because if this fact that I feel like midas is not a good place to go to. I felt like I was deceived into thinking I needed an expensive upgrade on services when I didn't need them. On top of that, they were also going to charge me a 100% more than what I paid to do it myself. These, to me, were big issues. read more

They don't honor coupons from YELP bcoz the YELP coupons have no barcode. YELP coupons do state "show this to the cashier" but there's no barcode to scan. The cashier on duty on 1/24/13 430pm was courteous to customers but lacked the initiative to "go the extra mile." It would've been an excellent customer service experience if the cashier had offered to honor the YELP coupon as it is or at least look through the coupon box at the register if a barcode is needed. read more

I've had my oil changed on the Speedee side of this shop a few times. The waits are long but the quality of work is fine. The Midas side, however, is a joke. They'll fill their calendar with appointments and then only staff with ONE MECHANIC. I waited for half an hour at opening, being ignored until one of the Speedee guys made the Midas mechanic talk to me. Then he says no one's car is going to be finished today (appointment or not) because he has no help! Ridiculous. Please save yourselves the ruined day and find literally anyone else to work on your car. read more

This place is alright, I recommend it. They charge a lot, but what car service corporation doesn't? Before I started working on my car myself, I would take it here religiously; spark plugs, oil changes, filters, etc. Whatever it was, they got it done. The staff is nice and takes the time to explain to you what exactly is going on with your car and doesn't pressure you into buying things you don't need. They may recommend you get such and such as it may be needed or time for a new one, but I've never felt they were just trying to scam me for money. They can get pretty busy, so be sure to call ahead of time. read more

First impression was this is a busy place. I had never been to speedee before lined my car up and walked in. Waited for the lady to get back into the office. Tried to be nice and not rush her from helping other people, but I finally stood at the counter while she was having her personal conversations. Without even being able to make eye contact she uses her announcement voice and says if you're here for an oil change wait at your car. Not impressed by the way she handled that I said thanks for letting me know. So she mouthed off and ended with "ma'am". I called and asked if I could bring my car in for a smog test and the guy says "as long as you bring it by 3:30" i even asked again "so 3:30" and the guy said yup. my dad drove all the way from Fairfield and he got there at 2:50 and they said "oh no we close at 3". AND my glovebox would not close completely after. 3) Gave me a massive list for repairs. The leather chairs inside are comfy and they always have the good magazines to read, oh don't let me forget about the complimentary coffee! Everyone's friendly and efficient which makes the waiting less painful. occurance: 03-20-15 @4:30pm.I am a single mom with 3 kids and i work a full time job. i finally had an early shift which allowed me time to come in and get my brakes done after work.. i did not expect this to be the most horrible experience ever.. I arrived at the Vallejo Ca Location around 4:20-25 and was told that there was no time to get my breaks done since they closed at 5:30. I explained that I was scared for me and my childrens safety and had to get on the freeway for work tomorrow. The man still refused to give me service. I went in the office to speak to Yevette who i was told was the manager and was given the same attitude. ill admit i was frustrated since i had been refused service and was afraid for mine and my childrens safety. however i was not rude.. she told me that the break people usually leave early around 4:30 and i said but ur website says 5:30 and she says look im not trying to argue with you.. i said im not trying to argue either i just need help please.. she went to talk to someone and quickly came back.. Jon, who i am asauming was the brake inspector abruptly walked in the office and started talking at me.. he said "yea ur the person needing the breaks done ? " and i said yes can you help me please, they are so bad and im too scared to be driving this car... I also took pictures of the other cars and customer that were being helped long after I came there were between 4 to 6 of them... seems like what I needed was too time consuming and got in the way of them making their last minute money before the close of the buisness day.. I got back in my car and he and the other guys laughed as he waved mockingly at me while me and my children drove off in my screeching grinding car.. I am more hurt then upset! better yet i am pissed and very offended . My family and I have been loyal customers for over 10 years to this very location.. I have never been treated so carelessly and harshly.. this was beyond disbelief. they didnt even offer to look at my car to assure me whether or not it was safe for me and my children to ride in it!!!neither i or my family will ever return to this location. i took my money to Le Schwab on Sonoma and received fast friendly, sincere and most importantly professional service! Customer service rules over everything! Me personally my first contact with employee(s)providing me a service will determine if I want to spend my hard earned money there or not! This particular location has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was greeted by one of the technicians and was told to pull in one lane. While this technician was getting info from my vehicle I was TOLD (rudely) by another technician to pull into a different lane. A bit annoyed by his rude tone I brushed it off. I asked the original tech when he was finished taking information from my vehicle if I was suppose to move into this other lane as told by the other tech he replies "yes my apologies". Well this obviously annoyed the other technician and he mumbled something rude under his breath. We exchanged some words and I went to look for the store manager. I located the manager and explained the situation he was little to no help. Not to mention this employee was standing around the entire time with his phone out on the floor. The employee continued to stand there while I was talking to the manager being an antagonist. When I realized that the store manager wasn't going to be any help and unapologetic I declined services from them. I called the store to ask for the number to corporate just to see if they would tell me there was no corporate. Not to my surprise the receptionist tells me "there is no corporate office". The mechanics here are great! I have been all over the Bay and have run into countless jokers who see a single female and assume I know nothing about cars, then proceed to try to sell me on some B.S. (and usually either damage or lose parts in the process which I end up replacing myself). These guys are not like that at all! The woman who worked the front desk was also very friendly and proactive with quality information and customer service. I gave this shop a 4/5 because the prices are still crazy, but not in comparison to the rest of the Bay. They are about average for the Bay Area. read more

The prices are on target for the services they offer (I came in for a quick, conventional oil change) and the whole staff was very kind and professional (from the guy who checked me in, the lady behind the register and three guy who I assumed was the shop manager).
