My car needed a oil change and I saw this place on my way home. I pulled in and went inside and Yolanda the girl at front desk told me to pull my car up to one of the service bays. I pulled my car up and a very nice man named Rick greeted me and handed me a menu of their services, he helped me choose one as well. He told me my car would be done in 20 minutes. I went inside to wait and Yolanda was very nice and did a great job in doing my paperwork and explaining everything to me. Scammers. Took my car here for an oil change and right away tried to lie and tell me a bunch of things were wrong. Told me there were rips near my tire and my suspension was messed up. Also told me I needed new tires. Tried to charge me $1600 to fix the "ripped area"...took it to another place a week later and the guy told me what Speedee tried to charge me for was literally a dust cover. This place used to be good, with oil change services. - Oil now at 5-20w, instead of 5-30W as before. - No vacuum - No windshield cleaning - No tire pressure checked I had 2 cars services there in the last month (Sienna, and Qx4), same results. They always want to point out things that your car needs to be fixed, and quote the repair cost way too high. Not going back for their services anymore. read more

I decided to come in because my car's hazard light was on and it was telling me to check the brake lights. I went to this shop just because it's nearby. I parked my car and got help from Uriel right away since it was a quick fix. I checked and both light where now working and the hazard light is off. I also asked about a tire rotation but he said it still wasn't due after flashing his light on the left two wheels. $25 for parts and service but was quick so I didn't mind. I asked about an appt for an inspection he said only first come first serve and I wouldn't need it till the car reaches 60,000 miles. Decent experience though, just questionable check on the tires. read more

My grandma took in her jeep for an oil change in January. When getting home she noticed a trail of some kinda liquid leading up her driveway. She contacted these people and she requested they come to her house and clean it up. Someone came to her house and cleaned up the mess. She went back to the shop and they tell her they forgot to close something properly so the oil spilt out and that was just the beginning. Since then she has been experiencing issues with the car and had to take to the mechanic. The mechanic informed her that her antifreeze hose had been tampered with, so I contacted this shop requesting to speak with a manager. The manager gets on the phone and tells me the owner will be there to call back in an hour. I call back in an hour and the manager tells me oh sorry the owner just left. Completely avoided giving out owners info, as well as franchise info. He tells me to give him my number and the owner will call me back. Never got that call. I recommend you don't take your car here, it's horrible. They are messing up cars left and right and not owning up to their responsibilities. I tried calling and now my number is blocked. read more

Came here the other day for an oil change in my civic, but sadly I have to say that their customer service is going downhill. While waiting in their waiting room for my car's service to be finished, many of the mechanics were yelling at the front desk lady for paperwork, keys, etc. They just didn't show any sign of respect for each other as employees, and certainly didn't care if we heard them. Once my car was finished, the mechanic who was speaking to me about my vehicle yelled at the service lady AGAIN while right next to me about paperwork for my car. Then he proceeded to talk to me like I didn't know anything that was going on with my car. Although I am a woman, I know a thing or two about cars... I used to really like coming to this place because the mechanics were honest, provided quick oil change service, and were respectful to each other and customers. That's not the case anyone. I'm so mad about this place. I come in to get an oil change and my spark plugs changed. The guy told me that it would cost $230 for it all. Uh. What?! They wanted to charge me $80 for the spark plugs that I was able to buy at Oreilys for $60 and then charge me $150 for labor on a job that I know only takes 30 minutes. So I told them just to do the oil change. When I get back to pick up my car they told me that I had a blown head and it was causing leaking. If it was blown then oil would be mixed with the coolant which would've been very obvious. This guy is also trying to play genius and told me I need fully synthetic oil for my Volkswagen. WRONG. Unless a car comes out of a dealership with synthetic oil it does not need it. I've owned my car for 10 years and am positive with what type of oil it takes. Granted they didn't know what they were talking about. That's understandable. But on top of all of that they were completely degraded my knowledge because I'm a women and treating me like an idiot. I understand my car and I did not have them give me an oil change with a side of bitterness. Let's just say I don't recommend this place to anyone. I'm totally in a rush and in need of a quick oil change and everybody else I normally go to is busy busy busy. So where did I go? SpeeDee Oil Change and Tune-Up on Capitol Expressway. WOW!!! What a BIG mistake let me tell you! I got my oil change with 17 point inspection done, okay no biggie. Paid, used my $29.99 online coupon to save $10.00, and drove off because I gotta be places. Anyhow, as I'm driving off I notice that my carpet was NOT vacuumed. I was like wait up, hold on, WTF!? You better believe I called them with the quickness! I got the manager on the line right away and I told him how my carpet wasn't vacuumed and this guy starts screaming at the employees, while I'm on the phone, asking who vacuumed my car. One of his employees replies and the manager tells me "My employee said he vacuumed it". I told the manager that they didn't and that I can turn around right now and personally show him. This guy says "My employee said he vacuumed it and it's not necessary to show me, so that's it." and hung up on me. Wow WTF what a dickhead! That's why he has no hair! Because not only does he want to act like a dickhead, but he wants to look like one as well! Now I'm erked...I called back quick style and his punk ass didn't even want to answer! What a wussy! I end up with the desk person on the line and ask for the managers name...she replies "Jose", I said "No I want his full name!" and she says "Jose" again! Man what's wrong with these people obviously they know nothing about customer service. I got heated and I told her "You mean to tell me that you don't even know your manager's full name!?" Finally, she tells me his name his Jose N_ _ _z and now I know which dick to complain about to corporate. When I got to my destination, not only did they not vacuum, but they did a wack ass window cleaning job, didn't top off my fluids, and didn't even tell me that my air filter was dirty. Basically I got an oil change with a No Point Inspection. Wow! What a bunch of hack job employees who don't have any work ethic or take any kind of pride in their work. I guess they take after their wack dick head manager. Oh yeah, I called corporate ASAP! So would I recommend this SpeeDee...HELL to the Mother F'in NO!!!! If I could give it -5 Stars I would! I came in originally because I had set up an appointment via Midas' website. I had just had my oil change done locally at a JiffyLube, and JL informed me that my brake fluid was low, and my brake pads were iffy, and it wasn't something they did. (They wouldn't even top up the brake fluid.) It being a Thanksgiving week, and it was that Monday to boot, and our family didn't have spare time, but my car having a heavy commute, well...brakes are just not something you mess with. We had appointments around Capitol Expressway the next day, so I scheduled a brake inspection for the next day via Midas's website. Yes, it was a pain now to drive with both cars (and a special needs toddler in one of them--apparently not happy when he realized that Daddy wasn't in the car with him), but a roadside emergency (or collision) because of bad brakes would be much, much worse. So, after dealing with our first appointment, we drive to the Midas (which I then learned was a SpeeDee-Midas). I said that I have an appointment at 2, to which the front desk woman (who was always nice the entire time) was surprised. "We don't take appointments," she responded. Without pausing, she yelled to the back, and wanted to make sure they can take a look at my car anyway. I was told that they'd be able to look at it right away. I left my car there (at least a half hour before my original appointment). My wife and I then treated our child to the Children's Museum, grabbing lunch first. After about an hour without a call or update, I started to get concerned--they made it clear by 3 different people that it would be looked at immediately. Does it really take that long? I gave them a call. The front lady greeted me, then put me on hold for a while...for a long while...then apologized because she had a hard time finding the tech, then put me on hold again. Finally, the tech talked to me. I couldn't hear him very well (in part because of the background noise of the Children's Museum), so I asked him, essentially, what needed done. His response was, "Nothing. Everything looks good." I explained that we probably won't be able to pick it up for another hour or so, and he said that was okay--as long as it's before closing. When we came in to pick it up, to my surprise, there was no charge! I asked why. "Because it wouldn't seem fair to charge you for a service that you didn't need." I was dumbfounded (but thankful). I had taken up their time and resources (garage space), and no charge? "Well, we have plenty of people who do need brake service done." Takeaway points: -I was highly impressed that they were trying to honor an appointment that they don't normally support. -The front desk woman was very friendly; when she noticed that the techs that should have written up my car weren't, she herself went outside to take my car's information. -No charge since nothing was found -The techs themselves, to me, were less than impressive. In fact, on the way home, I happen to have to make a hard brake at a light, and my brakes did grind a bit. Normal braking was fine. And after reading some of the comments here, although they told me that they did top up the brake fluid, now I wonder... -When I got into my car, the floor mat used by the service was still there. It sounds minor, but if that was overlooked, it calls into question what else was overlooked? read more

I am experienced with roll-em-in, roll-em-out oil change shops. And I liked this one, at first. Then... 1. They tried the "look down your nose" technique on me when I declined their offer to change all the fluids in my car (I've got a real mechanic for that). I expected this. 2. When I went to drive off in my car, I discovered a cracked windshield! WTF! Believe me, as much time as I spend in this car, I notice that kind of stuff right away. Especially when it's right in front of my radio! 3.The manager pretty much called me a liar when I questioned him about my window. He offered to review his videos of the shop work area, which I did. He couldn't seem to locate my car on his record. After 20 minutes of this, I told him "F*ck it, I've got comprehensive insurance. Just don't expect me or anybody I know to ever come here again." It didn't seem to bother him too much. As P.T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute." Folks, if you come in here, keep an eye on your car. I also found spilled used oil on my undercarriage after I got home, from them not removing the skid plate to drain my old oil. Nice. Very professional. Looks like I let Franklin change the oil from now on. At least I know he won't break my windshield, and that he's not so goddamn lazy that he won't drop 4 bolts on a skid plate. Average, overpriced, and VERY SLOW place that at least had good service to make up for it. Not really sure if I'll come back due to better prices elsewhere, but if you're trying to get a $30 oil change with coupon on a Sunday, this place will do it no problem. They check brakes for free on most cars, yet their prices on fixing those are moronic and ridiculously high. The mechanic that took his sweet time just putting my tires on after tried to tell me that you can't just "buy brake pads without replacing the rotor and fluid too." yet my family mechanic said my rotors are fine and did the brakes for 1/5th of what this place attempted to charge. read more

There is this Vietnamese guy that works there and told my momma that the prices were as is and to take it or leave it. Momma didn't wanna hassle so she paid for the service which included new tires, balancing and alignment...but oh no she was charged for a service that was not done...alignment. I only found this out later. But don't you dare think to can take advantage of my momma and get away with it!!! Came here to do a tune-up, but nothing got done. Written in the paperwork, the tune-up includes changing the AC filter, cabin filter, and spark plugs. I was quoted $200. Parts $100 and Labor $100. Spoke to the mechanic personally and he said that the AC filter and the cabin filter are not part of the tune-up. 10 minutes later, one of their guys told me that they didn't have the spark plugs to my car. If you don't have the proper parts to my car then don't waste my time. I literally left my car there for 2hours only to find out that they didn't have the spark plugs to my car. I ended up buying the spark plugs for $30 on amazon after looking at a DIY guide. I don't think I'd do it myself, but will find someone else to do it. And is Speedee really charging me $100 just for spark plugs? You got to be kidding me. They were apologetic, but I will never come back. read more

So my car was pretty much mistreated by me... Don't get me wrong, I love my car. But a combination of laziness, lack of money, and lack of time led me to not get my regular oil change and tune-up. I finally just put everything down and made my way to the closest Speedeeoil around. OH MAN, did they find some issues. My oil wasn't really that bad, props to my RAV4 for maintining itself well. However, my powerstearing fluid and a plethora of filters needed to be replaced. Having found this out, they call me right away and tell me what their suggestions. I don't even haggle, mostly because I had expected it. BAD ME, for being irresponsible. So long story short, they fixed everything, gave me some discounts, and I was on my way. Spent around 100 or so dollars but, looking at the recipt everything seems valid. So all in all good experience and I do suggest them. read more

I came to this place because my car was overheating in traffic and there was this horrendous noise coming from my engine somewhere. I was charged 45 bucks for a pressure test as part of their "coolant service." Then the mexican guy who was working on my car said I had a coolant leak and recommended replacing the water pump and timing belt... I thought to myself okay.. I got those part replaced just about a month ago else where. At this point I knew their mechanics didn't know jack about cars and were only there to up sell services. So in the end, they did not know that was wrong, and charged me 45 bucks for nothing, then tried to sell me more of their s*itty services. UPDATE: I went to a more reputable shop and it turns out that I had a bad wheel bearing and a bad temperature sensor. F**K YOU MIDAS. read more

Jay told me check with my dealer as my specific car probably only needed an oil change every 10,000 miles! Versus 6000 miles! I trust him even more because he was interested in building a relationship versus just a one off oil changed transaction. And even cooler, is that they cleaned the car and vacuumed it. LOVE THEM. I brought my car in for a "tune-up" so I thought. Maybe it was my fault for being so trusting and hoping that they would fulfil a customer's car's needs. Isn't that what they are there for? When getting a tune up I hope that everyone knows that when you change your spark plugs, you have to change all 4. In my case, they replaced ONLY 1 spark plug and that cost me $195. FOR WHAT? FOR NOTHING! What a rip off! Not only that, when doing a tune up you usually get a report back by the technician if anything else needs to be done. They should check your fuels etc. They did not tell me that my oil was low. For a month I was driving with nearly no oil in my car. I will NEVER.. NEVER bring my car back here. This place has a bunch of con artists. They nearly blew out my engine. Thank goodness I caught it in time! In Conclusion: I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN; I suggest you not to as well! read more

First time was awesome. Went in and within 30 mins got a call my car was done. Couldn't complain. But the times after... I recommended my cousin to them. Then when I got my car back they didn't turn off the light or give me a miles sticker. My steering wheel was dirty and they left the Windows all open. When I called to let them know is as I happy the receptionist just dismissed me and said oh just come back in. -I got an oil change here for the first time and doing it without a parent as well. -The woman at the front desk was very nice and walked me through what to do. -Theyre kind of a pricey place but with a coupon it was reasonable. their oil change package is considered fancier and they even vaccum your floors and top off some fluid if applicable. Normally I pay $25 so I dodnt think it was too bad. -I have read in reviews that they will try to recommend you more services which costs more $$$. They do. I went to this place because I needed an oil change and I had noticed it's location before but never sought their business; therefore, I decided to try it out because of the close convenience it provided me at the time. The place is your typical automotive preventative and repair services establishment, four car bays with mechanics and technicians attending vehicles in each one. I was a bit skeptical at first as I usually am with new places but that skepticism quickly faded with their high level of customer service and professionalism. The technicians administering my oil change were courteous and attentive as well as professional with no forceful "up sale" tactics. The woman at the front desk and register inside the office was straight forward without being rude and made sure I understood what I was getting. The afternoon wasnt as crowded as I thought it would be for a Monday, this was around 1:30pm and they managed to finish my car in just about 30 minutes give or take. The woman at the counter signaled to me that my car was finished, allowed me to pay and leave quickly while thanking me for my business. I'll definitely use them again in the future.
