When I don't have time to do an oil change I have taken my cars to this location. For the most part it is what you would expect and can be hit or miss. However, over the years the cost cutting has increased as they no longer top fluids and rarely complete comp services like vacuuming and checking tire pressure. On my last visit (2/5) I was told my car had "major" oil leaks and they couldn't warranty the service. I questioned this as I have not seen any oil leaks on my driveway. I asked if they could tell me from where the oil was leaking from. I was told it was too dirty. Any competent tech should be able to determine a general idea of where a leak is coming from. Whitin days of getting the oil changed I did notice a leak, and it was major. After starting the car, within minutes I would see a steady drip under the engine. I wondered if something had broken, and I just didn't notice it before. I jacked up the car and easily wiped oil and dirt away but could not find the leak. I thought it might be something to do with the oil pressure so I stated the car and sure enough, it started leaking. I got back under the car and to my surprise it was leaking from the oil filter! My only guess is that they didn't seat the o-ring properly when they changed the oil filter, and because they wouldn't warranty the work, I am out $150. Don't let them do this to you. Ask them to show you what they see. And make sure your car is vacuumed before you leave, especially if it is marked "completed" on the service ticket. :( read more

My service lights came on an for an oil change that I thought I would take care of out of my normal trip to see my mechanic. I was greeted by Anthony who said I would be able to get a synthetic oil change under a 100$ promptly. It was followed up by a call from Zach who gave me a list of other services he recommended which I politely declined because now I knew I would have to see my normal mechanic. read more

We have been here before but this time this place was a disappointment. We called ahead of time and asked if we bought our filter and oil for an oil change what would charge be for labor. Personnel on the phone stated it was $25. But when we got there, one of the techs stated labor would be $30. As he was still at our window, another tech walks up next to him and interrupts and states "No, it's $40 now". So 3 different people at one place with 3 different pricing! Unbelievable! Never again. Very bad for a business. Inconsistent! So we ended up at a White Road/Aborn Valero gas station and the told us $24.95. PERFECT! So think twice about going to this SpeeDee place. Something definitely wrong. I gave them one star since they walked up to our car window....lol read more

real bad experience at this place, we got our brand new truck scuffed real bad on the driver side and when the manager showed us footage u can clearly see how the air pressure tool they have hanging from the ceiling was the cause, one of the guys was pulling it where the scratch starts and pulled it all the way down to reach the tire while rubbing on the truck. The manager was helpful by letting us see footage but said that it's impossible for their tool to have caused damaged because "it's made with super soft plastic" ughhhh how stressful, not going back to this place. read more

Writing this because you sent me the survey. I have taken 2 of my last 3 cars here for routine service. A 2010 Corolla and a 2015 Jeep cherokee. No issues servicing the Corolla, but something changed when i began taking my jeep in. The last service appointment failed to uncover a failing fuel injector and resulted in an estimated extra $5k to repair. This was unfortunate because i had explicitly described the poor acceleration and a sputtering when accelerating. It was only until i took my Jeep in to another shop who was able to give me an honest diagnosis. Now.. i will say i never felt like they tried to upsell me on services i didnt need, but i was disappointed and felt like the quality of service has fallen off. I think what really made me lose confidence here was the other customer who was irate that they failed to properly put back something under the customer's hood and resulted in a ruined engine and the customer was letting them hear it. I wont speak on another customer's experience, but that definitely added to my concerns and really didnt feel comfortable bringing my new car there for anything. I ended up having to sell my Jeep. But moving forward i dont think i would recommend this place for service. The main lady behind the counter is typically nice - which is always appreciated. Overall, for cheap oil changes and simple service, this place is ok. If you think your car has a real problem.. .dont take it here. It may come back worse.. read more

I have no idea why this place doesn't have the full five stars. I came in on a Monday around 3pm and there was absolutely no wait for an oil change. This was my first time handling ANYTHING with my car and to be completely honest I didn't even know how to pop my hood until the mechanic at SpeeDee helped me out. He could tell how clueless I was about any car related and he recommended me the right oil for my car. He was extremely helpful and friendly despite how clueless I was. The woman helping at the front desk was also very helpful and nice, she made this oil change experience very easy to understand. She was extremely patient with my stupid questions and answered them very sincerely. The oil change itself: The plaza that Speedee is in is perfect for killing time. There is a walgreens, starbucks, wendys, and subway all within walking distance. The oil change was quick and I was out within 30 minutes (which I was not expecting at all.) The total cost for my 17 point oil change was $30 (with coupon) and for that price, it is completely worth it. I definitely plan on coming back here. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, they will answer any if's, and's, or but's you have about your car. This place deserves five stars and it's a shame that people will post such negative reviews about such a great place. If you see multiple cars ahead of you that need the same service you do, expect it to take longer than the usual 45 minutes to an hour. This Speedee franchise is locally owned and operated, and it's always great to support your local business owners. From what I've read from previous reviews, the Yolanda praise is REAL!! Ladies - don't come to this place because they overcharged me for work they didn't do. My oil was still black and I noticed they didn't change the oil filters. When I complained. They redid the oil change. I have to accurately stand there and watching them do the work. After they finished their work charge me $14 for extra oil! Look at your bill before you pay! I checked the reviews and was hesitating a little for the bad reviews. Then, Beto came and helped me out, he was fast and polite. First time, I went in for an oil change. No problem. Nice, cheap. The mechanic came back with some recommendations that I was planning anyway, brake fluid, transmission fluid, steering fluid, spark plugs. Yes, I knew these needed to be done. Today, a week later, I come in to do the brakes, transmission and steering. No problem. I told them I was concerned about a rattle. Told them when where and how to duplicate the sound so they could hear it and maybe diagnose it. I was told they wouldn't be able to diagnose, I'd have to make an appointment. An hour later, the manager lets me know she couldn't hear any sound. So I go and start the engine, rev it up and there it was. I let her know and she said (who is she? Yolanda the manager) she'd be right there. Well, I'm waiting in my car as a guy pulls up and blocks me from being able to pull out. Yolanda takes his information, leaves the other customer's truck there and walks away. So I go inside to try and get her. I get there and am told to wait while the desk girl goes and gets her. Five minutes later, I'm told to come back after making an appointment. Then I point out I can't even leave. It takes an ADDITIONAL ten minutes before I can leave. Finally, I leave. Takes me a while but eventually, I'm on a straight away so I can actually find out.....THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT AND SLIPPING. Also while driving, I begin to notice how sluggish and slow the brakes are to respond to ANY pressure on the pedal. I spent almost $400 on this and now my car is too dangerous to drive so I'm writing this from ANOTHER MECHANIC!!! He's checked for leaks and oh hey! Guess what? Nothing. So, yeah, I'm checking for legal recourse. I used to go to SpeeDee all the time. But where I lived for a few years didn't even have a Midas. I finally found everything here and now....Because of this, I'll never use SpeeDee again. Nor Midas for their association. read more

Speedee is definitely not fast! I live around the corner but will never return. The lady at the front was not willing to start the payment process while waiting the long wait for the car. Also, the guy who did the oil change did not top off fluids or clean off the oil that spilled over. I had to return the next day because i thought there was a leak. Went in for an oil change and drove off. Three months later when my husband took my car he checked the oil and it was very overfilled. It turns out they had my car registered to be a V6 in their system yet the engine clearly displays V4. The owner seemed not to care to exposed my car to mechanical issues by overfilling with oil . All the owner said your car is fine we took the oil out. There was never an apology or an offer to inspect my engine to make sure the oil didn't start disperse since it had been running on surplus oil for months. I suggest keep your car safe and stay away!! read more

Very bad experience with this place. I did my SMOG test at this place. The SMOG test passed but even after 2 weeks DMV didn't received it. I reached out to them for help but they just refused to help. They They told me that the issue is at DMV side and it's my responsibility to take the paper certificate to DMV office to complete my registration. I will be charged in full if I have to redo the SMOG. So a waste of my time and money. I have to do my SMOG test at a different place now as I don't want to spend time at the DMV office. read more

0 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!! A big F*** you to you, Speedee!!!!!!! I learned the hard way to NEVER NEVER NEVER let these guys EVER touch my car again. I was tricked into thinking they were doing me a favor, repairing my car at a "discounted price." DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE SCAMMERS. I discovered that they did basically nothing and just took my money when my car started to act up again just one month after my visit!!! I brought my car in for an oil change, and was told I had other "VERY DANGEROUS" issues going on with my engine. They addressed that I had oil all over my engine, and it was something I needed to definitely take care of right away or else I'd be putting myself at risk. They acted so concerned!! They also claimed to have replaced a valve cover which was cracked/leaking. Exactly, one month later, my car was acting up again. It almost broke down on the street, and I was lucky enough to get it to a nearby mechanic in time. (AKIN's AUTO REPAIR on Park Ave, San Jose) I definitely recommend everyone I know to go there instead. There, the mechanics explained to me what the issues were. The VALVE COVER GASKET WAS STILL CRACKED/LEAKING and there was STILL OIL IN SOME PARTS OF MY ENGINE. BASICALLY, Speedee had done a SHITTY JOB. They are SO LUCKY I'm not the type to SUE. Otherwise, I would've in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!! Long story short, I wasted about $251 by choosing Speedee. Unless you like throwing away your hard earned money, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more
