My favorite and new go-to is the taco dinner. I usually get steak and it's so good. I usually call in advance to order and they're usually pretty quick. Steak fries is also pretty good if you like carne asada fries. Everything is kinda pricey but as expected.

I can't get over how fantastic my meal was when I visited for the first time two weeks ago. The gyros with three sauces were absolutely incredible! I'm already planning to make this a weekly indulgence because the food is just that delicious. The staff is top-notch as well. In fact, I'm about to place another delivery order as soon as I finish writing this glowing review.

Sopes de pollo asado (grilled chicken sopes)

My fiancé and I both love this place! We are obsessed with their avocado crema salsa (the hot one)! We literally buy it by the pint! My personal favorite dish from here are their sopes de pollo asado (grilled chicken sopes). These two grilled chicken sopes only cost me 8 bucks and I was more than full, I mean look at the portion size!?! . We highly recommend them, especially if you like spicy food like we do!

Small place with a few tables. Bu really good tacos here. Chips and salsa decent. Great service, will go again.

My experience at Speedy Taco was very much a mixed one. I was excited to find and try another "hole in the wall" taco place along my route to Waukegan (for work, I have to travel to Waukegan for up to two times per week). I also try to find locally owned places to eat rather than settle for fast food or national chains. There some positives and some negatives. I will discuss the negatives first. The interior itself was dark and drab. I went there on a sunny day, the inside of the restaurant seemed to be full of shadows. Next, some of food was tasteless and mushy. I ordered a taco platter with two tacos. The platter came with refried beans, Mexican rice, an al pastor taco and a fish taco. The refried beans were cold, mushy and tasteless. The same can be said about the Mexican rice. I bought the platter rather than just tacos so I could have sides. Given both of the sides were so bad, I kind of feel cheated spending for the platter. Now, I will discuss the positives. The tacos themselves were pretty good. I liked that you had a choice to make your tacos "American" that included lettuce, tomato and cheese or tradition with just onions and cilantro. I happen to chose the traditional style because I felt like a street taco, but having options is alway good. The fist taco wasn't perfect, but given the context and the short comings of the other food it was cook well and fried nicely. The al pastor was wasn't the best I have ever had, but the meat was decently tender and had a good taste. Also, the staff was friendly and the service was good. Overall, it was mixed bag. It's worth a stop if get tired of the fast food restaurants that dominate the immigrate area.

Three Asada taco dinner with rice and beans.

Top notch service, super friendly staff and all the tables are in great condition and clean. Traditional dining area with plenty of space. Tacos are AWESOME!

Food: 1 Decor: 1 Service: 2 Surprised everyone gave this place 5 stars. I came here for dinner based on the Yelp reviews. 1. fajitas de pollo, 9 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/vy0sbU1d35a80jbiVjUkEg?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#UDlR8FDFK_kluzBZV5m-pw Bad. Everything was bland, and the chicken was too salty and overcooked. Rice and beans were dreadful. They said it came with a drink, but I only wanted the fajitas. 2. tacos al pastor, 1 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/vy0sbU1d35a80jbiVjUkEg?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#Z7v1JyWSPMe2jzijv8fqYQ Bad. They gave me 3 tacos when I only asked for 1. Bit into a pork bone on my first bite, and the tacos were tasteless.

They have the best steak fries this side of San Diego. I would chose these over el famous burrito any time.

Food is good and cheap. Great spot for lunch. I had the steak tacos with rice and beans. Next trip I want to try enchiladas or fajitas.

The restaurant is pretty small, but they packed a lot of seating into this old Subway. The booths can easily fit a group of 6, while the tables can be pushed together to seat more. There are also 3 tables outside as well. Plenty of vegetarian options, which is a huge bonus, and they have Beyond beef for those that enjoy mock meats. I had dinner here with two of my friends, and we all enjoyed our meals! We shared these yummy little horchata balls, and I had a vegetarian burrito (solid size!). I also had two, don't judge haha, classic margaritas. I wouldn't typically order a classic margarita, as I don't do overly sweet or syrupy drinks, but these were really light and yummy!! The Ay Cabron! hot sauce was SO good with my burrito, and had a nice tingle while still providing flavor. My bill came out to $36 for the three things I ordered, which is pretty decent considering how expensive dining out can be. Can't wait to dine in again to try the Chile Relleno! YUMMY!
