I am giving 1 star because there is no zero star. Food taste was worst I walked into the spice lounge / godavri hicksville for dinner time on 07/21/2018 and ordered couples of varieties of biryani on their menu. No of them tasted different they are all same. But they have different names and different prices. Before knowing the food taste I ordered a big tray of chicken dum biryani. Chicken pieces ware under cooked and the rice was taste less. For the first time in my life I saw pepper on the briyani. The tray is worth of $75. Went in to garbage. I have pictures of throwing whole tray in to garbage. I strongly dont recommend spice lounge / godavri hicksville. Its waste of time and money. I spent $321 for the garbage food. I have tried different Indian foods but this is got to be one of my favorites. They have a buffet section and a regular restaurant section. The food was pretty good and you got to go visit. Their waiter, Manpreet, gave a superb suggestion and service! read more

This restaurant was quite frankly the single worst restaurant I have ever been too, and I'm not even exaggerating. There was very little that I enjoyed about this place. For one, we walked in at around 7:45. We were not able to even order our main means until past 8:45, and did not receive our food until over 30 minutes later. Terrible, terrible service. I didn't leave the restaurant until almost 10 pm! Also, there were incredibly rude waiters. There was this one man that kept staring, making eye contact, and making these weird, creepy faces at us. This went on for the entire duration of our 2+ hours stay. Also, when we were trying to get the attention of our main waiter, he was either intentionally ignoring us or just being blatantly oblivious. Probably why it took forever to order our food. The water that they gave us was WARM, thats right, WARM! And it took them forever to refill out little water pitcher. After we finally got to order our food, the waiter told us that they weren't serving an entire half of the menu on that day! With no prior mention of that to us earlier, forcing us to pick something new on the spot. On the subject of the food: Some of it was alright, but the chicken that my friends and I ordered was under-cooked. When we cut into the chicken, the inside was still pink! Not a good place to go and eat if you have any concerns about your health. Price wise, it was overpriced. I had to pay $28 for food that I was worried about eating! Finally, there was an included tip of 18% that we HAD to pay. 18%!!!!!!! I wanted to pay 0%, this place is quite frankly horrible, but I guess they know that and force customers to pay 18% on tips. Please, stay away from this restaurant if you have the chance. read more

I cannot express clearly enough in words my dissatisfaction with the service I was provided. My initial service was quite nice: the complimentary papadum and chutneys were good, and our appetizer orders were taken immediately. We didn't have enough time to figure out what entrees we wanted, so the waiter said he would come back and take them later. Here's where my visit started to go south. Firstly, the cups were gross. I went to take a sip of water when a tiny bit of residue food as a result of poor sanitization came into my mouth and I had to spit it out. When we finally managed to pin down the waiter again to take our orders, we weren't even able to order from half the menu ("we're not serving Chinese today"). Our orders took an incredibly long time for what was labeled the "most popular item on the menu", and was incredibly expensive for very basic stuff made with mediocrity. Then, we ran out of water and asked the waiter for more--we didn't get a refill until 20-30 minutes into our meals. It doesn't help that the water wasn't even cold. Additionally, the staff seemed to give us odd smiles and stares and it felt a bit awkward--it wasn't rude as much it was just creepy. The pop music choice was very odd for an Indian place and created an unsettling atmosphere. Just when we thought it was over, we thought we could express our dismay by tipping less. Nope, a forced 18% tip (likely because of our group). While I don't mind paying group tip, I don't think it should be an excuse for a restaurant to skimp out on service for our table (though I think the service was generally bad). I'm not the only one in my group to have had a negative experience, and I heard the table behind us also complaining about something. Overall, stay away. There are a lot of other wonderful Indian/Chinese combo restaurants in the area, though I'm not going to specify as I'm unsure if it's against Yelp's TOS. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a better experience there than at Spice Lounge. read more

I would love to comment about the food but I had to cancel after waiting over an hour. I called to see where the food was after an hour and the extremely rude man on the phone told me it would be at least another half hour before my food was delivered and that they had a lot of deliveries considering how busy they were... on a Tuesday night. Two worse than terrible experiences ordering from here, would give a negative review if I could. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I called to get my money back and they hung up on me. I kept calling and no one picked up. We ended up having to drive there only to see 4 staff members and not a single customer. I'd love to hear their reasoning for not picking up. And trust me I was not being "one of those" problem customers, I just wanted a refund for food that came almost 3 hours late, stone cold. I got the refund, but they didn't make it easy. Oh, they also accept online orders when the restaurant is closed! What are they doing over there??? I happily give their competitors down the road my business now, along with everyone I work with. In a town that is flooded with Indian restaurants, this place is definitely a stand out! The food is consistently excellent and the service is phenomenal. They always make you feel welcome! Food is great, was there for Friday dinner. Especially Lamb biryani, house soup, lamb chops and beetroot dessert are awesome.

The service was pretty bad. Not properly organized. But most importantly the food was drenched in oil. I understand its Indian food and it's supposed to be oily. But this was on a whole different level. I've never been to a restaurant where everything was drenched in oil. From chicken to noodles to everything. There was a puddle of oil in all the dishes. This is the worst service I have ever received. Ordered online, they never got the order. Said their business "partner" was in London and all the online orders go to his phone. Are you serious? Had to wait at the restaurant for food to be done. Ordered 4 naans only got 1 and had to wait another 10 mins for 3 naans. Had ordered butter chicken online and added white meat for 2 dollars extra, told the lady (who said she was half owner but only started 2 days ago) at the restaurant that it should include white meat since we paid extra and were already charged for the order online. Come home and there's no white meat. Ordered kofta and it was all cold on the inside. 2 naans were burnt and 2 naans weren't even cooked fully. The food overall is horrible, the service was horrible, when it used to be Delhi 6 it was much better. Nothing tasted good and we had ordered this for Father's Day and our dad hated it. They have the worst communication between the workers. Worst experience ever. $56 dollars down the drain. Would not recommend this place to anyone and would especially tell people to steer away from their website if you do choose to order thru this establishment. I have been going here from day one when it was ran by the old owner as Delhi 6. I went back and was not happy at all very short staff for the weekend and food took very long time.didnt get menus for like 15 minuets. Owner does not do anything just Stands and does not even think about helping out the staff members. If I was a owner I would want my customers to be happy so they can come back.
