Since opening, they've really upped their organizational game! The manager who was there after I wrote my negative review remembered me and apologized profusely, which I appreciated. Every single time we have been here since the food has been perfect and delicious. We usually order online and the food is always ready on time. Our favorites include the masala aloo (delicious spiced fries), the paneer kathi roll, and papdi chaat. We tend to order extra rolls and save them for later. It's just as good as all the yummy chaats I used to get when I lived in the Bay Area, and that's saying something! Side note--their chutneys are now available to buy at Apna Bazaar and Ken's Market. I got a take out order from this place today. Even though I live across the street I had looked at the menu and never tried it cause didn't look too exciting. Today I tried the lamb roll and the aloo tikki chaat. Just looking at the lamb roll it looked a bit plain but it turned out to be so delicious and flavorful, just perfect! The aloo tikki chaat was also good. I loved the toppings but the outside crunchy taste was even better. If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out. We've ordered from Spice Waala a few times and each time I can't believe how good it is!! As a vegetarian, it is hard to find tasty healthyish meals for takeout. Spice Waala has two vegetarian rolls that we love - one with potato and one with paneer. We argue about which one is better. The rolls are small - we order 3 rolls to split for dinner (with a side or two). One of the freshest tasting Indian street food I have tried here in US with very authentic Indian chaat flavors. It was not overpowered by spices like other places and had balanced flavors. Mango lassi was the best I have had and tasted free from any coloring and flavor additives that we usually find everywhere else. We tried the paneer bhurji roll, papdi chaat, bhel, aloo tikki chaat, chai, mango lassi and last but not the least, their lychee soft serve which was amazing. We swung by here one evening to grab a quick bite since everyone in our party was very hungry. I'm from Calcutta, the home of India's best kathi rolls! These were pretty close and really hit the spot for us. The papdi chat was not bad either. After seeing rave reviews on our neighborhood Facebook group, tried this place today and it totally lived up to the hype. Ingredients and flavors are top-notch. Super-filling and satisfying. Also, I can't eat dairy and usually it's such a freaking pain to decipher what I can eat off the menu and ask the restaurant to confirm a certain thing doesn't have dairy. Their menu lists things really simply and obviously so I don't have to keep asking every time I forget the exact set of ingredients for everything on the menu (this is so simple why can't other place just do this already? Okay rant over). I had the lamb wrap and the vegan/dairy-free garbanzo salad. They tasted so good I had to double check that I had ordered right and there wasn't any cheese or butter in it. Very flavorful food--like a (good) punch in the mouth. Really satisfied my craving for Indian favors. Tried the Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chana Chaat, Bhel Puri, Masala Aloo (fries), and the Chai. It was all delicious! And it was so inexpensive and the portions were huge for the price: my husband and I both have a ton of leftovers (and he never has leftovers). But the key differentiator for this restaurant is the service. I called to ask about some food allergies and the guy who answered (I really wish I had gotten his name) was incredibly patient, helpful, and very knowledgeable about their products. He gave me several options both as-is on the menu and with modifications for dairy- and wheat-free "snacks." Then, when I picked up my food, he was the friendliest person I've met in quite some time during this darned pandemic. Overall, just a really lovely experience at a "fast food" restaurant. Oh, and all the food and sauces came in compostable packaging, and if the sign is to be believed, the staff are paid well, though I wouldn't let that absolve you of tipping these wonderful people generously! read more

One of the worst food I ever eat in my life.my stomach hurts sand I throw up.I order chicken roll with papaddi chat. There were only 4 small papadis pieces with two tiny two potato's in a big box. Chicken roll bread was burn and chicken smells and it was cold. I wish I could go to the next restaurant. Honestly,lI would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. Even a street boy from our country can made much better food than this restaurant owner.The restaurant owner is making good money by fooling his customers and selling worst food.
